@Wavesandsmilesagain brilliant news, congratulations x

Keepeas · 02/08/2020 13:46

@Wavesandsmilesagain congratulations!
We once managed 9 times in one cycle and felt like that was a huge achievement 🤣 tend to at best manage one more after my fertile week ends for good luck, and then we're both ready to stop!

selina37 · 02/08/2020 14:05

@Wavesandsmilesagain Brilliant! 🥰

claireb707 · 02/08/2020 14:47

I see it @Wavesandsmilesagain congratulations

mummytooneprincess · 02/08/2020 14:59

Hi, can I join please? I'm 36, have one dd who is almost 4. About to embark on cycle 2 of trying to conceive baby number 2. I was lucky first time but I know each time is different and though I don't feel it I'm a fair bit older this time round! Been taking basic folic acid but not doing anything further at the minute. Wishing you all lots of luck for August

claireb707 · 02/08/2020 18:46

Think I'm going to have to take painkillers for boob pain, it's seriously uncomfortable 😩😢

Not had it like this before, bloody progesterone (even on the pop pill)

selina37 · 02/08/2020 20:47

Hi @mummytooneprincess and welcome 🙂 I'm just taking folic acid and vitamin D and trying to be healthy!

GL to you! 💕

selina37 · 02/08/2020 20:48

@claireb707 is that usual for you? Forgive me if you've already posted about it xxx

No not at all 😢😩🤞
Been off the pill for a year and not had pain like this before

Sunbird24 · 02/08/2020 20:53

Congrats @Wavesandsmilesagain, looking good!

My ovulation pain just started, got a 30 min telephone consult with the nurse tomorrow to discuss going forward with the IVF. Spoke to the clinic on Friday and they’re going to get started on my prescription.

selina37 · 02/08/2020 21:00

@claireb707 🤞🏻 it might be a good sign!

Muda · 02/08/2020 21:22

@claireb707 hope it is a good sign for you!

LT103 · 02/08/2020 22:08

@claireb707 hoping that’s a positive sign for you!!

I had first date night out since March and went out for dinner and drinks. Was so nice to get some normality back!!

Sleeeeeepy · 02/08/2020 22:12

Fingers crossed for you @claireb707 that sounds like a good sign!

Glad you had fun @LT103 It's so good to have a bit of normality, particularly at the moment.

Good news on the prescription @Sunbird24 😊 They seem to be moving at a decent speed which is great

Hi ladies, hope you don’t mind me joining this group? Been following the thread and been working up the courage to post myself 😊

So currently TTC #1, cycle 3, DP and myself both 35 years old. I’ve just come off the pill after being on it for 19 years 😬 Was originally on it for heavy/painful periods. Ironically since coming off at the beginning of June I’ve had the opposite.... really light periods! My first proper cycle was 29 days and then my second was 25 days. Just starting my 3rd cycle now and feel a bit all over the place. Not sure if this is normal after stopping the pill after such a long time?

Anyway it’s really helped reading all your experiences, made me feel less alone in this TTC journey. Also the BFPs are lovely to see, congratulations to you all! Gives me hope too.

SnowWhite1985 · 03/08/2020 00:15

Congrats @Wavesandsmilesagain! That’s quite a monumental effort - must have paid off. Feeling quite inadequate now as we don’t DTD anything close to that lol.
@surreychick - I feel like I’ve had all sorts of weird symptoms various months. To the extent I don’t trust my own judgment on symptoms anymore and worry it’s all in my head or caused by stress when I feel different. But I’m the opposite - I test like twice a day from 9dpo til I’ve got myself into a deep depression of disappointment and AF ultimately arrives. It’s great you have the willpower to hold off until AF’s arrival date!
@HopefulHols - I had the same, was on the pill since I was young, for long heavy seriously in agony periods. But since coming off it two years ago I have much shorter Lighter periods other than the first day of complete agony. My cycles took a few months to regulate after coming off the pill. 4-5 cycles I would say. Don’t know if this is normal but I didn’t have much pain the first few cycles then the one day of agony gradually returned and got worse each month. After coming off the pill I had some short cycles then some long ones and felt a bit all over the place. But after a few months I’ve been totally regular at 27 days.
We’ve been trying for 8 cycles now. I just started doing bbt last month and now feel like I’m starting from square one again as might not be ovulating when I thought I was (or at all). Think I’m going to go to the doctors soon to hopefully get tests. I did some internet tests but who knows if they’re reliable. My hormones were all fine but my AMH was below average for my age. And I feel like 8 cycles means there might be something wrong. My partner is reluctant to get tests or do ivf if necessary. He thinks everything should be natural and already thinks I’m overdoing it with the opks and bbts. So it’s a bit of a struggle to persuade him to get tested.

SnowWhite1985 · 03/08/2020 00:19

@claireb707 sorry about your boob pain. I’ve had really bad boob pain too which has me confused now as someone on another thread suggested from my chart I might have low progesterone / not be ovulating. When I came off the pill I didn’t really have boob pain at all but since we’ve been trying to conceive I’ve found I have incredibly painful boobs. Initially I thought it was a sign of pregnancy and got excited each month but then it never materialised and I’m just in pain lol. I hope yours improves. I never used to have this so was wondering if it’s an age thing!

SnowWhite1985 · 03/08/2020 00:25

Good luck to everyone! Nice to see some positives in the group. Feels like a day that will never come for us so it’s nice to try and stay hopeful. Ttc isn’t at all how I imagined it would be. I’ve found it incredibly lonely and I have major lows after the negative tests each month. It took me more than a year to persuade my partner we were running out of time, so now that we’ve gone 8 cycles with no success I also feel quite resentful of him sometimes. He went on the assumption that we’d conceive quickly so was unwilling to try until we were completely ready. But now he got a transfer with his work and I hardly see him during the week. It makes ttc really difficult and exhausting and it’s hard not to regret not trying earlier because we’ve been together a long time. He managed to convince me it would happen quickly because we’re both fit and healthy but of course it didn’t. I’ve spent months doing opks, but now I don’t even understand my cycles now I’ve started temping. And feel like I’ve got it all wrong and we’re DTD at completely the wrong time or perhaps I’m not even ovulating properly at all. Sorry for the long posts, feeling a bit over emotional tonight as we were supposed to spent tonight together but he had to go back to work early and then we couldn’t. Anyway...best of luck to everyone, nice to see so much positivity and solidarity in this group xx

Wavesandsmilesagain · 03/08/2020 06:20

How is everyone this morning? I’m a bit deflated after DP’s monumentally underwhelming reaction... conversation was in french as he doesn’t speak English, but basically went “oh, that’s a bit of a surprise” , I pointed out that in total in the month of July he had been very proud that we’d DTD 52 times and he said, oh yes I suppose this would make a baby 🤦‍♀️
I suspect it’s the usual shock and hopefully in a few days he’ll be used to the concept (despite him being the one that had been most keen in the first place 😂).

Other than DTD, I was taking pregnacare and this time we used the conceive plus lubricant for about a week. I was trying to keep very active as well and walking average 7km a day. No other special tips from me but fingers crossed to all in FW or TWW

52 times 😮😮😮😮 52??!!! Bloody hell 😮😮😮 how are you not sore lol

Maybe he is worn out and has no energy for enthusiasm lol

Bloody hell woman that's made me worn out just thinking about 52 times 😂😂

selina37 · 03/08/2020 07:27

I don't think I'd have any reproductive organs left after 52 times 😂 They'd have friction burned away 😂

Congratulations again though Waves!

EmeraldLily18 · 03/08/2020 07:42

Hey! Just wanted to add another wee boost onto this thread for those TTC for a while without much success, I finally got my BFP on Friday on what I thought was cycle 14 but it is actually cycle 15!

Congrats @Wavesandsmilesagain on yours too, I think we managed to DTD 6 times during FW so we were clearly slacking compared to your efforts! DH was complaining at 3 days in a row Grin

What we did differently this time, although may be coincidence; ‘followed’ SMEP(ish!), used Boots own brand conception supplements (I never got along with Pregncare), used a preseed type lube bought from Boots reduced section for £1!

I’m still in a wee bit of shock as we were beginning fertility investigations and DH had his SA on Thursday! We were heading out for anniversary on Friday so I did an early response test to make sure I could have cocktails! 🍹

Please don’t give up hope ladies, we were at the stage we really didn’t think it would happen!
Fingers crossed for a sticky one for us, and good luck to all about to test 🤞🏼

kwastell · 03/08/2020 07:58

Congratulations @EmeraldLily18 and @Wavesandsmilesagain

I do wonder if there is some link with getting pregnant when you start fertility investigations. I started having tests with the NHS back in November and got pregnant. (Unfortunately had a miscarriage.) Then started private fertility investigations in July and got pregnant.

The 3 other times I've been pregnant I haven't been having investigations, so it could be a coincidence.
