Congratulations to the bfp. I took a test this evening, after having 3 negative tests over the last week.... Looks like we might be seeing #3 in May/June next year, all going well. I am shook.

Not been a round much lately - I've taken a step back from conception threads at the moment. Trying to get my head round things, we are now looking into adoption, partner doesn't want to commit to ivf but our referral to the sub fertility clinic has been sent off.

Am currently cd7 so have started opks but don't think I'm going to be buying anymore once this box is done 😢

Internetaddictgirl · 26/09/2020 23:10

@selina37 thank you.

@3andout wow that's awesome! Congratulations

Hi newbies and @claireb7rg sorry your other half doesn't want to commit to IVF but that's great your referral has been sent off so things are moving along in case he changes his mind.

I've been a bit worried today, took my third pregnancy test today and it was fainter than the day before and I've felt my boobs haven't been as sore today... really hoping it isn't a chemical pregnancy. Going to test again tomorrow and get in touch with the gp about having a blood test to track the HCG on Monday xx

Internetaddictgirl · 27/09/2020 08:21

Update from me - the test was even fainter then the first one three days ago 😔 so think it's a chemical pregnancy xx

Sleeeeeepy · 27/09/2020 09:45

@Internetaddictgirl I hope it's just the test and you get some better news later or tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for you x

LT103 · 27/09/2020 10:54

@Internetaddictgirl keeping fingers crossed for you! Was it same type of tests you used And same time of day? Hopefully just variation in Tests and that line is nice and strong tomorrow

Internetaddictgirl · 27/09/2020 12:43

@LT103 it was first morning urine each time and I’ve done a mix of two tests - Superdrug early detection and first response but both are getting fainter 😞

selina37 · 27/09/2020 13:44

@Internetaddictgirl keeping fingers crossed for you 😘 xx

3andout · 27/09/2020 18:35

Thank you ladies, it's still early days, so trying not to get my hopes up.

@Internetaddictgirl how are you feeling today?

Trying4mylastmiracle · 27/09/2020 19:09

@3andout congratulations that’s lovely @Internetaddictgirl fingers crossed for you Can anyone tell me their views or opinions on the sunflower seeds I’ve done a bit of research it’s 50/50 some good some bad I’m currently taking folic acid and swapped my coffee to tea and cut out all the fizzy drinks what else you ladies have in your kitchen cupboards I don’t have 😊I’m trying to remain calm about this process but can’t help how you miss one pill and panick and now I’m super stressed about the thaught of having a period aaaaaaah the joys of life !

Internetaddictgirl · 27/09/2020 20:28

Thanks so much ladies. Well I have had a bit of blood when I wiped and no boob pain today, so think it’s over sadly. I’m glad my period is starting so soon as would be horrible if it took a month to come.

@trying4mylastmiracledoing seed cycling - pumpkin and flax the first half of the month and sunflower and sesame. Apparently supppsed to hep with hormones. If it didn’t work I still
Think they have lots of great oils in them and I quite like
The sprinkles
On cereal or even in my coffee! Only started this month. I have also been trying vitex or Angus cactus this month. Obviously prenatal vitamins and also omega three oils and primrose oil!!

selina37 · 27/09/2020 20:33

@Internetaddictgirl 😔 oh so sorry to hear that. Try and keep positive for the month to come, at least you can get back on it right away.

I've heard nothing bad about sunflower seeds. Is there something I should know? 😳 I've been putting loads of them, and pumpkin seeds, on everything I eat. Love them with chilli flakes and black pepper on avocado on brown toast. And in cereal with chopped figs.

Internetaddictgirl · 27/09/2020 20:34

Also Maca powder

Internetaddictgirl · 27/09/2020 20:36

Thanks @selina37. I’ve been keeping busy today but starting to feel a bit weepy now, so think I’m going to get an early night and onwards and upwards tomorrow xx

LT103 · 28/09/2020 08:46

@Internetaddictgirl so sorry to hear this!! Hope you are ok x

Sleeeeeepy · 28/09/2020 10:34

@Internetaddictgirl I hope you're feeling a little better today. Why does this have to be so hard 😞

OP posts:
Internetaddictgirl · 28/09/2020 11:13

Thanks guys. Just had a call with the gp and they said to monitor bleeding and if it goes on for a long time past a normal period, to come in and see them and to do a pregnancy test in a couple of days to make sure it’s negative. Such a shame xx

CC81 · 28/09/2020 14:40

Hey all, just catching up (again!).

I think AF is about to start. No shock there! It's CD24 today and I've had a tiny bit of spotting in the last 24 hours. At least it's still regular, eh?! :P

@selina37 - Did you do the tubes test via the NHS? How invasive was it? Hope you don't mind me asking! As there's still a chance (however small) for us to conceive naturally, it makes sense to check that mine are working properly (as everything else seems to be). x

@Sleeeeeepy - Thanks for your support - I really appreciate it. x

@Internetaddictgirl - Really sorry to hear what you're going through. If it helps, from what I've learned recently, it's generally easier to solve problems with luteal phase (progesterone etc.) than it is to fix problems with conception. Fingers crossed for progress with your GP. x

@claireb7rg - I've also tried to take a step back recently. I still find these forums very helpful, but I need to control how intensively I'm thinking about the issue. x

I've been trying to focus on other areas of life that I enjoy; and think about moving on with our lives if we're not successful.

I'm also looking into counselling by a fertility specialist, to help me work through my feelings and potential choices. Things should start to get clearer once the private clinic presents us with a potential 'treatment plan' and the associated costs.

claireb7rg · 28/09/2020 15:52

We had a talk last night about things. We came to the agreement that we will see what options we have once we see the sub fertility clinic but we probably won't go onto ivf (suspect we won't get funding anyway).

I've been looking into the adoption side of things a lot more and I think it is where we are going to go. I've spoken to a few friends who have adopted and theyve answered some of my questions.

We both agree though that we would rather adopt than not have children. And that will probably involve sibling adoption.

claireb7rg · 28/09/2020 15:53

To add Im now cd9 and got a flashing smiley yesterday and today on opks. Cheapies still neg though

selina37 · 28/09/2020 18:53

@claireb7rg

Yes my dye test was through the nhs.

I was going to book it privately but the clinic told me I could get it free, and that my gp would have to do the referral.

GP had already done blood tests (hormones and everything) and sperm test. I also had to do a chlamydia test with the GP just to make sure that was clear.

It wasn't invasive, no more than a smear and it really only cramped a little while the dye was in.

He also scanned my ovaries at the same time.

It's well worth booking in. 🙂

CC81 · 28/09/2020 19:08

Thanks so much @selina37 (it was me who asked, not Claire! Wink)

The hospital fertility team mentioned it to me as an option, as I've been referred to them. They said there'd be a wait, but I think it's worth booking (to make sure we've done everything we can).

I like the idea of the scan, too, as a 'second opinion' to compare with the private one. The latter showed that my womb and ovaries are completely normal, but a low number of antral follicles (not a surprise).

The ONLY thing that concerns me is missing a month of TTC... I guess it'd be okay if I timed it to be right after AF and before ovulation! But with NHS appointments I doubt I can be picky.
