So I took my FRER this morning and it's a BFN. I think the faint line on the cheapie must've been an indent or something. I guess they're cheap for a reason 😑

I'm disappointed but was expecting it to be BFN I had no symptoms apart from sore boobs.
I'm starting to get really worried now about my lack of AF, so I think I'll ask my GP for that gynaecologist referral now and get my hormones tested and scan etc.
This mc has been so hard and it's made so much harder with not knowing what's happening to my body. I'm feeling so down and rubbish about it all right now 😔

MrsK21 · 15/07/2020 08:33

@chloedancer897 sorry to hear it's BFN for you too x

MichT4 · 15/07/2020 08:41

@1990EM that's really interesting. I was diagnosed with PCOS a long time ago but I think I managed to reverse it (after a lot of my own investigations as to what was causing it). They are checking for it again now though to make sure it isn't back in any capacity. I definitely have long cycles so I think something might be causing that - who knows.
I hope I have a similar experience to you, but as you said am also OK with AF arriving too - no expectations this cycle.

@MrsK21 I'm sorry it was BFN. Sorry for being rubbish but have you not had any AF since MC? Definitely call your doctor - be persistent. Were your cycles regular pre-MC?

xx

fafi · 15/07/2020 08:41

@MrsK21 oh no! I am so disappointed for you! I'm sorry xx

MrsK21 · 15/07/2020 08:46

@MichT4 no AF since MC at all 😞 the bleeding started on 28 May and finished on 4 June so it's been pretty much 6 weeks since the bleeding stopped and CD49 from mc bleeding as CD1. It's been sooo long and I'm getting so stressed out now.
Pre mc I was on the pill (managed to get pregnancy the first cycle coming off) but before the pill I had regular 28-29 day cycles.

I honestly just have no idea what is happening anymore. I've got that horrid lonely feeling that I'm the only person who's cycle isn't coming back at all ☹️ x

MichT4 · 15/07/2020 08:50

@MrsK21 I would call your doctor, but don't panic. As I said, my cycles are long, but I came off the pill in November, so I don't think they had regulated from the pill yet. They had started slowly coming down but after MC have lengthened again. So I think, annoyingly, this could be normal given you have the combination of both.
Try and see that as a positive if you can, I'm sure this is just a big reset for you xx

1990EM · 15/07/2020 08:52

@MrsK21 aw no I'm so sorry about the negative :( think it's a good idea to contact your gp and even get a hormone profile to see where you're at. Our bodies are weird and wonderful sometimes. Sending a hug.

Mommybear05 · 15/07/2020 08:53

@MichT4 sorry when I last checked the thread I missed your message. So sad about your news! I hope that you and OH are both taking the time you need to process what has happened. You don’t have the anxiety now at least. Thinking of you xxx

@Pugprincess hello welcome to the board. What a story you have! Five years of trying must seem so long! And it sounds like you had a really tough time. You are trying again and you still have your chance like the rest of us. I really hope you get some good news again soon and feel some healing in your life. I teach too xxx

@Chickoletta don’t know if you’re still on the thread but so sorry about your mc. And you fee the need to draw a line. That’s right you focus on what is best in your life and I’m sorry for your loss xxx

SmileyT · 15/07/2020 08:54

@VP91x well then it's definitely an ovulation dip and temp will be high tomorrow ✌🏾

@MichT4 posh that is a drive but I guess if you get on the road early it's not bad. And yeah totally agree everyone is different and recovers in different ways, although my boss did say to me in my review yesterday that I've been distracted the last couple months and hopefully I've got my head in the game now, so maybe I wasn't as helpful to work as it was to me 🙈

@Firevie how are you feeling lovely? I just had a look back on my app and I'd logged 3days medium bleed, 2 light and 4 spotting (it kinda came and went in that time) think we started having sex again on day 6 which probably wasn't ideal as I was still spotting for another 3 days x

@MrsK21 sorry it wasn't a positive this morning but good news about going to get more investigations, always good to have an idea what is going on in our bodies. I haven't been on hormonal contraception for over 5years I think and although I'd say my cycles were on average 28 days, I had a 43 day cycle in there and some other random longer cycles, so please don't panic, although i know it's impossible when you feel something isn't right x

Mommybear05 · 15/07/2020 08:55

@HE88 I’m the same with the spotting before af. I always keep spotting about three days before it comes full flow. Any signs now for you? Xx

1990EM · 15/07/2020 08:59

@MichT4 maybe this isn't the right place to do it but would love to hear how you dealt with your PCOS. I wasnt overweight when i was diagnosed as a teen in fact was maybe a bit under. and my weight is ok now in my 20s though I could probably do with losing a pound or two! But apart from that is there anything else you would recommend? I've heard how some people cut out gluten and that helps but I don't know if I could do that 🙈

Firevie · 15/07/2020 09:02

@SmileyT thank you for checking your app and letting me know. The doc said no sex for two weeks 🙈 it has been a while since OH and I have DTD anyway as since we found out about MC two weeks ago we haven’t felt like it. Let’s see if we can make it another two weeks. Off on hols mid August so hope that will be a nice change of scenery. Hope you’re well. Xx

@MrsK21 I am sorry to hear! Hope you can somehow try and focus on something happier. I know easier said than done but I’ve been listening to some really good podcasts every morning which put me in the right mindset. Sending positive vibes xxx

MichT4 · 15/07/2020 09:03

@Mommybear05 thank you. We are doing OK - trying to be positive and proactive. I can't believe it's happening again, seems so unfair it can happen once, let alone twice. But we can't do anything about it sadly, so jsut trying hard to move forward with a PMA. How are you? xx

Pugprincess · 15/07/2020 09:05

@VP91x our treatment was going to be under the nhs as we have been through all the referral process and both had tests (if anyone would like to know what the nhs tests are like for fertility I can explain) we were entitled to 3 rounds of IUI but I hear that’s a 15% chance success rate per cycle. And one round of IVF after that I think which is a better rate I think around 60%. As I say it’s not like they ever found anything wrong with me or hubby. The day I found out I was pregnant hubby quit smoking and still has so I’m hoping that can only help to. I was up late last night researching my new diet. Found a few interesting things that I didn’t know. Sounds like I should switch to whole grain bread pasta and rice. I had already started whole grain bread for when I have toast during pregnancy. There’s something to be argued for gut bacteria type drinks too so I need a daily probiotic type drink. A big thing is to avoid trans fats which appear as hydrodrenated oils on food labels I think but I am yet to check my cupboards food labels lol. I know I don’t have the best diet though I’m awful with vegetables for example. Tend to cook food you just warm up, like chicken Kiev’s, battered fish, jacket potato, pizza. If anyone has any good healthy dinner ideas and recipes on here please let me know. During pregnancy I had started to have soups quite regular, big soups and tomato and carrot, felt like I was getting some of my 5 a day in that. I was eating a banana, grapes and sometimes orange/apple each day. I tried really hard. Hard to fit it all in lol. I switched to decaf tea and I think Diet Coke is probably like poison now, all the chemicals scare me. I had dropped down to just a glass with lunch and dinner and I think I’m going to further drop that to just with dinner. Caffeine can be related to mc I read. But I know I didn’t go over my daily limit at all. But obviously if I get a next time I want to be super careful now. Like I won’t even hoover my house in 1st trimester. No sex either, we did it 3 times and the last time I swear wiping after was pinkish. I know it’s meant to be safe for most people but I just daren’t after this. I also read whole milk is actually better as high dairy required for fertility. Hope that helps you guys and will let you know as I learn more xxx

Pugprincess · 15/07/2020 09:15

@chloedancer897 I hope you are ok, keep hold of some hope, it’s not over till the fat lady sings. I tested day 28 with a cheap test when I was preg cause I wasn’t getting my usual brown spotting or intense cramps and that was neg. By day 33 it was positive. My major sign was the little stabby pains, I never get that around period, I said to hubby it felt like ovulation pains. Turns out it was probably the implantation it stretching. X

Pugprincess · 15/07/2020 09:17

@MrsK21someones told me it can take even 8 weeks for period to return. It’s just cruel especially if you are ready to try again. I know my friends who have babies have had their periods vanish after birth and I really feel like mc is like giving birth but with a really shit end.

DBTJ · 15/07/2020 09:24

@1990EM awww God bless you thanks for checking on me. I'm on egg shells had faint positive and just hoping it sticks. I don't think I can take 3 mc. I'm due to go in tomorrow 2 c doc regarding the lump they want to see if it has improved as all the results came back negative so they arent sure what caused it.
How are you doing

MichT4 · 15/07/2020 09:27

@SmileyT 😂 who cares how work saw it - it's how you felt that's important. How was the review? Did you tell them you are pregnant?

@1990EM I will try and provide a brief summary, but it probably won't be. If you want any more info, you can send me a message (is that an option?), or I can just talk about it on here, I'm sure the ladies won't mind.
So I happened to be following a nutritionist who was running a PCOS plan, so I signed up. I learnt a lot, including there are 3 types - Insulin resistance (the main one), stress related, and then hypothyroid. I don't know much about the last one.
Anyway, I wasn't overweight and never had any of the typical symptoms with hair or whatever. I had all my blood tests at the time and also had a cortisol test. That came back with a result of chronic fatigue which basically meant I was stressed to the max. It suggested I had been in this fight or flight mode for years, almost traced back to the year my Dad died. And it basically suggested that my reproductive hormones had completely shut down because my body wouldn't be able to deal with a pregnancy when it was under that much stress.
So it was all about management of that - I was undereating at the time, exercising way too much, I was in a relationship with my best friend but only that, so we ended up parting ways also. Eventually my cycle came back, as a result of all of these changes I think. I ate better, responded well to carbs in the morning, and just got into a healthier lifestyle.
It was all very interesting, and I don't know if that helps. But please ask me anything about it because it was an invaluable thing for me to do. I can also probably dig up the stuff and find out about the other two if that would help? xx

Mommybear05 · 15/07/2020 09:29

@MichT4 yes that’s what I thought so unfair to happen once let alone twice! But like you say all you can do is take your time to process and then move forward. I hope it doesn’t take too long for you to conceive again.
I’m good thanks- cycle 5 since mc in March. Cd10. Started using clear blue opks for the first time today after not using opks much since mc so we will see xx

MrsK21 · 15/07/2020 09:34

Thanks ladies, I think I'm going to go ahead and get my hormones etc looked at. I just hate feeling so in limbo with not knowing what is happening at all.

@MichT4 I'm not sure how much the pill is affecting things as I got a textbook 14 day ovulation after I stopped and got pregnant, so it could be lingering in its after effects now I guess.

I've got my GP calling me later today, fingers crossed I get a referral. I've read it can be 8 weeks as well but I don't want to wait and get to 8 weeks, still no AF and then decide to get the ball rolling xxx

VP91x · 15/07/2020 10:15

@MichT4 thank you fingers crossed she is all fine with it. I went to Tesco done a food shop, and then I've just cleaned out the rabbit hutch. Most exciting part is I have my hair appt at 11am. Wondering whether to get it all lopped off short-ish again!

@Firevie glad you are okay after the procedure, rest up loads❤️

@1990EM thank you lovely 🥰🥰

@MrsK21 oh no way!! There was definitely something on them. Yeah, get on the phone to them and see if they will refer you, I hope you get something soon. My period didn't come back for over 8 weeks so try not to stress too much, 4-6 weeks is just the average, although I know it is frustrating. Xx

@SmileyT fingers crossed 😍, hope work isn't too mental today and you're feeling ok? Xx

VP91x · 15/07/2020 10:18

@Pugprincess that is all such a long process, must be so draining to go through the IUI/IVF process especially knowing the lower stats for the IUI. I think with the diet as long as you're getting a balance of most things and cooking from scratch you normally end up okay. Have you got an Instagram account? Lots of lovely accounts that have quick easy recipes or I would recommend the Deliciously Ella app, you pay 99p a month and it has sooo many yummy recipes. They are mainly veggie based and then you can add meat to them if you like! Xx

Pugprincess · 15/07/2020 10:26

@VP91x thanks yes I have Instagram 🙂

HE88 · 15/07/2020 10:39

@Pugprincess are you based in England?
I was a patient with a fertility clinic too but at my last appointment with them I had fallen pregnant. When I had my mc I never contacted them as I thought I would conceive quickly but here I am 5 cycles in and no bfp! I'm going to contact them though to see if I'm still a patient as I have no idea if I am or not. I'm glad you went through the IUI process as that was mentioned to me. Xx

@Mommybear05 no af yet had a little bit of spotting when I woke this morning but feeling crampy and my right side of quite sore. How are you? Xx

chloedancer897 · 15/07/2020 10:51

Thank you everyone for thinking of me. I woke up at 5 like a kid on Christmas to take the test and then proceeded to sit in the bathroom for 3 hours sobbing. This was the first month in memory that I could feel ovulation pain, and I really thought my symptoms were implantation pains etc. Even my boobs are bigger and I have had nausea on and off. Clearly early pregnancy symptoms mimic AF symptoms so much that it's almost impossible to tell the difference. My husband finally woke up this morning and saw the mess I was in and said he didn't want to do this anymore because it's breaking me. And honestly, I don't know if I can. Every month is a rollercoaster that ends in a BFN for the last 2 1/2 years and I just don't know if I can keep going.
