Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 2

Juno231 · 05/07/2020 21:10

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

See attached my current chart - at 10DPO my RHR is at it's all time high this cycle and has not started to decline for AF yet. Fingers crossed!

@Fran2020 hopefully with it not being too noticeable, it’ll clear up quick 😊
Yeah I’m just squeamish in general with doctors so will have to suck it up!
He got in for the 21st which is great as when we called couple of weeks ago they made it sound as if the wait would be ages. Will now mean by next cycle will have had all bloods and SA done which has been the good news of today 😊

Juno231 · 03/08/2020 13:21

@SarahTTC2020 depends on the woman I think! In the past I've had peaks but I also get cycles where I can't even really tell.

Had my Day 21 test done today so fingers crossed progesterone levels come back okay!

Well AF got me today with a vengeance 🙄 onto the next month 🤷

popcorndiva · 03/08/2020 14:01

AF got me on Saturday morning, massive drop overnight so not sure whether I had a chemical as had 3 positive IC's. Hoping so as that usually means you are extra fertile. Due to test the morning of our holiday to Rhodes on Aug 28th this month.

Moominmiss · 03/08/2020 14:13

@Juno231 I also had my day 21 bloods done today, and oh did his semen analysis today too. So that’s all tests done for us for now. Just need to wait for the fertility consultant to get in touch to Give an appointment to discuss results/next steps etc 🤞🏻

Juno231 · 03/08/2020 15:08

@Moominmiss ah fingers crossed for you! SA hasn't been mentioned yet so I'll leave that until the end of this year I think. My next thing is an ultrasound but that could take months for me to get an appointment for.

So sorry to hear AF got you @Alicespring and @popcorndiva . Hopefully that means next month is your month!

Every now and then I think about how I ideally wanted a Q4 due date and now 7 months later it makes me laugh that I even thought it could be planned that way! Now I'll take what I can get, even if it means a summer baby lol.

I know @Juno231 we delayed TTC to avoid a December/Jan baby and now I wish we had just got on with it!

Mrsi2020 · 03/08/2020 23:03

Hey girls, thanks for all the replies! I’m not sure what’s happening for me. @Juno231 I had my 21day bloods done this month too (all was very good) doctor has referred me to gynae as all of my losses (I was calling them chemicals but she said as I was getting positives on digitalis they would class them as miscarriages as all after period would have been due) so I have that referral . But hopefully I don’t need it!

Good luck for your bloods ladies, its amazing what they can tell lol.

This is my opks and my rhr for this cycle. I’m not sure what’s happening. There was a couple of spikes in rhr when I’d had a drink lol! Xx

Today is a weird one! My RHR has dropped but temp has gone up. I always thought a big dip at 9dpo-ish would correspond to a secondary oestrogen surge but my temp says that's not the case 🤷‍♀️.

I'm worried I'm out already with an RHR drop at this stage!

I have no idea what’s going on here lol xx

@Juno231 your bbt is looking really good!! Does it usually stay up this high on your cycles? How strange about you RHR! No idea!

@Mrsi2020 brilliant that you had good blood results. Great about the referral aswell but yes hopefully you won’t need it!

I’m worrying I’m out before I’ve even got going 😩 my RHR is just not doing anything despite a peak OPK. Premom has me at 1dpo today.

@juno231 mines strange to. Bbt up this morning (missed 1 day) but RHR acting the mickey. See the where I marked that when ff predicts ov happened, my own predictions are sat. But my RHR in past months have gone on the rise in lp and then a big drop b4 af. So I'm baffled this month 🙈

@2alreadywantanother I reckon if you used temp adjuster on CD12 and 13 you might get solid crosshairs. You took your temp later those days which will give you higher temps.

@mumof23188 hard to say! I think this time it's been consistently higher at this stage of the LP (although unusually low at the start!) but I did have one random day last cycle where I had 36.9 and I haven't reached that yet 🤷‍♀️.

My tea has been tasting disgusting this morning and OH doesn't know what I'm on about so now I'm thinking maybe it's a symptom and am trying hard to ignore it 😅

OP posts:
SarahTTC2020 · 04/08/2020 10:44

I don't know what's going on with mine either, dropped to its lowest ever today at 53! Possibly missed my peak opk on Saturday night or Sunday morning 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Juno231 oooooh at the change in taste! That’s an early sign. Fingers crossed it means something for you.

@SarahTTC2020 what CD are you? Xx

LS2020 · 04/08/2020 17:19

@Juno231 @Moominmiss I’m booked in for day 21 bloods next week and a bit terrified of needles so not looking forward to it! Let me know how it goes as haven’t found too many people who have gone through the process and be nice to know others doing it! OH is in for his SA in two weeks which we were pleased with as originally they warned would be a big wait. Have they told you what next steps are? They said I’d get told everything when I went in but normally when I get bloods done it’s a quick in and out?

Moominmiss · 04/08/2020 17:29

@LS2020 you’ll be fine, I hate needles too, literally get myself so worked up over it.

But a couple weeks ago I had bloods taken on cd2 for various things, then the 21 day bloods this week.

Both times I just felt the tiniest scratch and that was it. Was over so fast.

Basically when I had our referral to the fertility clinic they sent me the tests they wanted us to have done, along with a big questionnaire on both of us which we completed, then I was told once we’d had our tests I was to fill in the last page of the questionnaire with the dates of when each of the tests were carried out, including oh’s SA, and send it off to them. I posted it off today.

Oh said when he dropped off his specimen they said his results would be in within 5-7 days.

The letter from the fertility consultant said once they received copies of all test results they would be in contact to arrange an appointment to discuss the results and next steps.

So we’re just waiting now. No idea how long it might be. I don’t know if my own gp will contact me if the results show anything, or if they’ll just pass it straight to the consultant. I’m assuming the latter.

I was surprised at how fast it all happened as I only got referred by my gp after phoning her about my 3rd chemical in June!

Good luck with everything, keep us posted.

Xx

LS2020 · 04/08/2020 17:35

@Moominmiss this is so helpful, thank you!!
I normally tell myself to get over it and through it but always end up super dizzy afterwards so think it’s because I am so terrified haha.
I would have thought GP would give you any results over the phone still before going to consultant?
Thank you, good luck too! Yeah I was really pleased as only rang 2 weeks ago when AF showed and we passed year mark and already booked in for the bloods and OH managed to get an appointment as the clinic had literally just reopened so hoping means we can get on quickly. I wanted to wait the year out before getting referred but thought there’d be nothing worse than getting to 18 months and then having to wait a year which is what I heard was IVF time pre COVID.

Juno231 · 04/08/2020 18:00

@LS2020 had my Day 3 done nearly a month ago now and day 21 yday. Both were with a nurse that had no idea what the tests are for. If you let them know your fear of needles they'll be able to handle it better I think! Both of mine were done within minutes (didn't spend more than 10 min at the GP practice in total), very much a no fuss type of affair.

Assuming it works the same where you are, I'd suggest signing up for the NHS app as when my Day 3 results came in 2 working days later, all I got was a text to say it was "all normal, let's see what the next test will show". Being the geek I am I wanted to know all the results/data and that's most readily available to you on the app. I've had no other interaction with my GP since.

Once I've done Day 21, the next step for me is an ultrasound - this requires a referral to the hospital which my GP actioned before the day 3 test already as the waiting lists are long atm so could take a few months. I haven't heard anything about what's planned past that point. From reading other people stories it sounds like hycosy and semen analysis are next steps assuming everything else has been fine up until that point.

Another thing to note is that if you track ovulation via BBT and you know you ovulate, it's worth making sure you day 21 test is actually 6-8dpo and not just arbitrarily on day 21 as that won't necessarily give you accurate results if you ovulate much sooner or later than CD14. I rescheduled my day 21 twice as I ended up ovulating later than expected this cycle, and my original testing day would have been 1 DPO!

OP posts:
LS2020 · 04/08/2020 18:10

@Juno231 yeah this is what I think my appointments like that the nurse will do it all and have no idea what it’s for and then won’t actually give me any more information and won’t know what to do next.

I haven’t heard about the NHS app though, I’ll have a google as love all things like that. I’m only booked in for day 21 atm and assume they’ll book my day 3 when there? I have quite short cycles of 26 days and booked in a week before AF due so hoping should be fairly accurate. I can totally see my local hospital being slow with the ultrasounds but Tbf OH got in for his SA quick so might be able to get in before people start fully coming back!

Mrsi2020 · 04/08/2020 19:34

I thought the bloods were fine. My oh has been told seeing we seen to get preg handy enough he doesn’t need his SA yet; if I get my referral through he can go for them then if needed. I think my doc was hopeful id be preg beforehand. Has anyone tried Angus cactus??

I really have no idea when to found ov day? Anyone any ideas? How is everyone? What cd/dpo are you all? Whos testjng when? Lol xxx

Fran2020 · 04/08/2020 22:36

How is everyone? I am CD12 today and got my first peak on the CBFM this morning. I also got my letter about my scan today from the hospital yay! I have to call when my next AF starts to get it booked for CD5-9 (fingers crossed I won't need it). 🤞🏼

@mumof23188 After you get the peak you typically ovulate 24 to 36 hours later and then the egg can last 12-24 hours. So I’m sure you’ll be fine this month 😊

@LS2020 thank you! That's all really great news! It feels so good to get things organised!

@Alicespring @popcorndiva I'm sorry AF came for you both. Positive thoughts for next month.

@Mrsi2020 I'm really not sure!! Your opks are confusing! Have you DTD lots to be covered?

LS2020 · 05/08/2020 07:19

@Fran2020 how do you find the CBFM? Can’t decide between that or a Ava bracelet. Was a bit adverse to the money but spent £40 on advance digitals this month to give me a false reading 🙃

Fx for you! Nice rise on your RHR too!
