@Intrigued2020 yeah wait to next cycle. They recommend 2 but I just went off my first cycle length (you need to have a rough idea of how long your cycles are so you know when to start testing). I’m super new to all this so I haven’t tried the cheapies but I think a lot of ladies on here use them and they seem decent? I’m a little nervous but I’m trying to be super realistic and I just don’t feel it! But who knows!
It’s not a bad thing, everyone is different! Apparently hormones actually leave your body within 48 hours pretty much so it’s very quick! I didn’t notice dramatic changes, just boobs hurt when I was due on and a slightly heavier AF!

Intrigued2020 · 12/08/2020 20:48

@Dogscanlookup - yeah I think it’s better to think it’s not going to happen and then just wait and see. I’ll cross my fingers for you :) Yeah I think I need to wait a bit to see what happens with my cycles! I’m so impatient though :p Keep us posted! :)

Bramleyapples13 · 12/08/2020 21:20

I got my static smiley yesterday and we DTD. Having gone out for tea today and had a three course meal we will most definitely not be DTD today as I now feel like I'm expecting a food baby instead 😂

Welliedays · 12/08/2020 22:09

@bramleyapples13 I can't even manage my tea at the moment without feeling ridiculously full... And then I'm hungry an hour later 🤦🏼‍♀️ it could be related to the amount of chocolate I'm eating though 😂 I'd defs choose a three course meal over dtd any day though 😂 it's all about balance isn't it!!

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 22:25

@Intrigued2020 thank you! I definitely know impatience too don’t worry 😂 keep us posted too!

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 22:26

@Bramleyapples13 hahah at least you did it on the important day! Food definitely needs to come first sometimes

abitfunny · 12/08/2020 22:45

Can I ask you all if this seems right -

So we DTD last Friday, Sunday and today. My app says fertile time between last Friday and yesterday. The ovulation test had a static smiley on Monday and Tuesday but nothing this morning. So I guess today was out of the question? Do I have any chance do we think?

Welliedays · 12/08/2020 22:51

@abitfunny I'm afraid I don't track so I'm not sure, but I though you ovates 12-36 hours after a static but sperm can survive 5 days or so before the egg appears... So you might just be in luck depending on timing 🤷🏼‍♀️

I promised my OH that we'd dtd tonight, he's so enthusiastic and is away for a shower and now I just want to sleep 🙈🙈 I feel a bit sick as I haven't had a snack since half 8ish and snacks seem to the only thing that stop me feeling that way at the moment! I also have heartburn and keep getting cramp in my foot 😂 I think it's safe to say that there will be no acrobatics from me tonight 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tofu35 · 12/08/2020 23:08

@intrigued2020, I've been doing temping for about 10 or 11 months, but took a while to get it right (soon as you wake up, under the tongue until it beeps). So my first few graphs were all over the place! It's been pretty accurate for me now, I try to time my clear blue ovulation tests with when the app tells me!

Intrigued2020 · 13/08/2020 08:38

@Tofu35 - I think definitely for the next cycle I will test when the app recommends as hopefully it will be more accurate 👌

Daffodil21 · 13/08/2020 09:31

Day 8 of flashing 🙄 think I'm out this month. Which is sort of ok; I had considered stopping TTC for 3 months while I work on improving my egg quality anyway (changing supplements etc), but have decided not to stop.

@abitfunny that means you would have ovulated either yesterday or Tuesday so yes last night would have been a chance I think. Did you go for it in the end?

Welcome @Intrigued2020 and @Welliedays 👋

Bam27 · 13/08/2020 11:19

@Daffodil21 I don't think that means your out for this month😊 think you could definitely still have an lh surge... Could you have possibly missed it, maybe urine too dilute? I've been doing cheapie along side the clearblue digital so I can see the line progression as well. I could have easily missed mine this month!

Daffodil21 · 13/08/2020 11:29

@Bam27 I'm not sure. I've been restricting fluids so I can actually hold for the 4 hours in the afternoon.

I've gone through a box of 20, and now I've got 4 left from another box. Once they're used I'm not buying anymore, and I'm not doing any next month either. The progesterone blood test will just have to wait as I'm so done with these now, so going to give myself a month off tracking

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 13/08/2020 11:30

@Bam27 what time of day did you notice your surge out of interest?

OP posts:
Bam27 · 13/08/2020 11:58

@Daffodil21 4 hours should be enough really... That's fair enough if you need a break from it. I've only been doing OPKs since last month. I loved knowing exactly when AF was due coz my cycle is so irregular it's hard to tell... In the morning the CB was negative but the cheap test had a dark line but not as dark as control line. I did both the cheap one and the CB at about 6pm that day and they were both positive. The next morning I did another cheapy and the line was really light.

Daffodil21 · 13/08/2020 12:18

@Bam27 yeah the instructions say 4 hours so I would hope so! My cycles are irregular too, and on one hand I like knowing when to expect AF, but on the other I don't because then I don't know when I'm in the nightmare tww. Except for last month, I haven't had a cycle longer than 43 days since I started tracking way back when we started TTC, so that's my cut off point if I don't track.

Does anyone know what happens to estrogen levels after ovulation? If I have missed the surge, would there still be enough estrogen for it to keep flashing? Whenever I've used OPKs in the past I've always had a static...

OP posts:
acaciabluebell · 13/08/2020 12:27

Another BFN on IC! Getting sick of peeing into a cup if I'm honest!

This morning I woke up feeling like AF had arrived, but was just CM.
AF is supposed to be arriving yesterday/today/tomorrow/I have no bloody idea. I'm on CD32 today. I hate this feeling of being in limbo because it's just taking over my mind and I'm supposed to be working from home but can't focus on work because I keep googling stuff. I don't even have any AF symptoms but I just wish I would have some clarity - a positive test or AF.

Part of me is worried that I've developed PCOS... I've never been as big/heavy as I am now - I was always healthy/average and my cycles were around 24 days long and regular. But in the past year I've gained a good 15kg this past year from a stressful new job and bad habits and now I'm overweight and I'm worried I've F'd everything up! I've never had cycles this long before. Urghhh. So annoyed

Bam27 · 13/08/2020 12:30

@Daffodil21 I think that the CB digital test is programmed to continue to flash until it detects peak lh. So it starts flashing when it detects a significant increase in estrogen and then continues to flash until lh surge. If you don't get an lh surge I think it just continues to flash. Last month mine flashed for 6 days. This month I got the blank circle twice and then static smiley, so I must have missed the increase in estrogen before this. I don't think it has a base level for how much estrogen will make the test flash, it will only detect the increase, this is why the first day you always get a blank circle because it is establishing your base level of estrogen. Sorry for long explanation just wanted to make sure I was explaining it properly 😂 did a lot of reading about how the tests work last month.

Bam27 · 13/08/2020 12:36

@acaciabluebell sorry you got a negative and your feeling this way, hopefully you will know soon💐 I have also slipped into the overweight zone for my bmi. I've always been slim and healthy but I gained a lot of weight with hormone therapy for my endometriosis and now I can't budge it. I'm sure my metabolism has completely changed I only need to look at a cake now to gain a pound!

acaciabluebell · 13/08/2020 12:39

@Bam27 thank you. I'm also legit worried I have endo lol maybe I'm just a serial worrier!! But with endo I do have some of the symptoms. I'm a bit too scared to see my GP about it because I'm scared of it being confirmed. What kind of hormone therapy are you doing?

Dogscanlookup · 13/08/2020 13:02

@Daffodil21 don’t they say go to 9 flashing smileys before trying next month? So you’re not out yet and you may have just missed it or had a lower LH surge? 😊
@acaciabluebell sorry about your BFN!

We’re nearing the 1000 limit! 😱

Bam27 · 13/08/2020 13:22

@acaciabluebell I'm not doing any now, but I just can't seem to get rid of the weight I gained. I had 3 months of zoladex injections twice so six months in total but on two different occasions. Its a drug that shuts down your ovaries for a while. What symptoms do you have?

acaciabluebell · 13/08/2020 13:45

Just had some light pink spotting 😢 I normally spot red/dark brown so it's a bit weird. But I guess I'm definitely out now. Booooo

Daffodil21 · 13/08/2020 13:57

@Bam27 that makes sense. I'll use the last 4 and then stop. That will take me to day 9 anyway. I've never had this long of flashing before - normally static on 4th or 5th day so I've never really looked into it 😱

@Dogscanlookup yeah the instructions say stop after 9 days which ties in with finishing them up. I know- we're going to need a new thread soon!!

@acaciabluebell you don't know you're out yet. There is a possibility it is implantation bleeding. I have been caught out both ways on this - thought AF was arriving when it was implantation bleeding, and thought it was implantation bleeding for AF to show up, so I am very wary of suggesting IB, but you're not out until full flow!

OP posts:
acaciabluebell · 13/08/2020 14:04

@Daffodil21 I feel like 13dpo is a bit late for implantation bleeding, no? I had such strong cramps on 8/9dpo so thought that would have been implantation time. So I think is defo AF preparing to start
