Thank u all for ur feedback, u are so helpful and supportive of each other its so nice to find! I've never used a forum like this so didn't really know what to expect.

We had a good chat last night and have decided that we are going to try now! Every month when I get to the 7 day break on my pill the question comes up again and were both feeling comfortable enough about the covid situation and that we just don't want to wait anymore as it could literally be years before we get back to 'normal'.

AF arrived today so looking forward to our first month of trying again now :) feeling positive that everything will go well this time xx

Welliedays · 11/08/2020 17:45

@furbabymum02 that's what I love about this thread too... I'd never been on one before either. It sounds like you've made the right decision.. Good luck and welcome to the tcc club ☺️

Bramleyapples13 · 11/08/2020 19:05

I completely forgot to do the OPK for the past few days and it's already a static smiley today 🤣 I hope we've not missed it this month!

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 19:43

@FurBabyMum02 I'm glad you've both come to that decision and I hope it doesn't take very long for you!!

@Bramleyapples13 I wish I could forget 😂😂 I literally wake up thinking I need to go and do it, and last night I even dreamt I was doing them! Not in my house though, in a really weird situation 😂 my dreams about TTC are so messed up! Actually there was once that I did forget until I was already peeing and I couldn't stop! As long as you dtd tonight and tomorrow if you can, you should be good!

Bam27 · 11/08/2020 20:04

@Poppyismyfavourite good luck for your scan tomorrow, let us know how it goes.
@Daffodil21 I try so hard to hide how angry I am 🤣 but I'm sure OH can tell although he knows I don't blame him
@FurBabyMum02 hoping it happens quickly for you!
@Bramleyapples13 that's exactly what happened to me this month. I didn't forget but ovulation happened sooner than I thought didn't even get a flashing smiley just straight to the static one!

Wow its so hot! Anyone else struggling with dtd in this heat?!!! 🥵

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 20:41

@Bam27 I think I've got yours and @Bramleyapples13 flashing faces!

In Scotland so not too bad here! I remember the southern heat well though and feel for you!

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 11/08/2020 21:12

@Bam27 I’ve got to say I’m glad it’s TWW in that sense, it’s sooo hot!

Is anyone able to answer my question? Do you test when period is due or is DPO more important and what day? 12 DPO?

I just get this feeling it’s not happened this month and I can’t shake it 🙁

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 21:31

@Dogscanlookup if you don't want to test early I would test 14 dpo, but I think AF can arrive up to 16dpo....

OP posts:
Bam27 · 11/08/2020 23:04

@Daffodil21 maybe you have. I very nearly missed my lh surge as it was in the evening as well and wasn't going to test but then remembered my cheap test had quite a dark line in the morning.
@Dogscanlookup as for testing I'm not really sure how early you can test. I would probably go by says post ovulation if AF is due only 12 dpo and not test until 14dpo. Personally I I try to just wait it out and not test unless AF is late, its hard though. Sorry your feeling like it hasn't happened, I get like that most months tbh so I can understand.

Daffodil21 · 12/08/2020 09:13

@iloveyoubutilovememore sorry ovulation happens 12-36 hours after static smiley/lh surge, not 12-48 like I first wrote (can't remember who said 12-36 but they were right!)

Still a bloody flashing face for me.

Any signs of AF @acaciabluebell ? Did you test this morning?

OP posts:
Bramleyapples13 · 12/08/2020 11:04

@Daffodil21 it's funny how much your dreams reflect what's going on in your life isn't it. I hate the panicked 'oh no, hold the pee' realisation then a quick run to get the OPK box 🤣 have you got a flashing face?

@Bam27 that was good timing!

Looks like we might all be in the TWW at the same time! 😂

@Dogscanlookup I'd wait until after it's definitely late. I thought I was going to be lucky last month but my AF was just 3 days late. It's hard but it gives better test results.

Daffodil21 · 12/08/2020 11:10

@Bramleyapples13 yeah I'm on day 7 of flashing!! Been testing twice a day too! If not static in next couple days then assuming I've either missed it (unlikely) or just haven't ovulated this month.

Haha it does look like a lot of us will be in the tww together!

Hey all, back from my (WiFi free) holiday, so I've been catching up on what's been happening in the thread. Coming up to the FW, and very glad about living up north and not in London- how can people cope with 30+ degree heat??

Hope that flashing smiley calms down and stays static for you tomorrow @Daffodil21

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 11:22

@Daffodil21 sorry to hear no static just yet

Thanks guys, I think as AF is due before 14DPO I’m just not going to take a test.

@Bam27 it’s depressing isn’t it. I always thought I’d just “know” so when I feel nothing I kind of trust it!

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 11:23

@Tofu35 are you using OPKs this month? And yes the heat is awful here! Luckily air con in the new office!

Tofu35 · 12/08/2020 13:48

@Dogscanlookup I do temperature monitoring and OPKs, I'm more monitored than the big brother house 😂. Because of the temping, I can at least get a ballpark in terms of when to start using the OPKs (think it's middle of next week) but DTD from this Friday to try and catch any earlier ovulation!

Air con! What a dream that must be. I'm still working from home, so no such luxury for me.

Did anyone get the thunder storms last night?

Intrigued2020 · 12/08/2020 14:40

Hi everyone! I hope that I can join :) I have been reading all of your comments and it’s so interesting to learn about all of this! I have a question that I’m hoping one of you might be able to answer... I stopped my pill on the 27th of July after taking it since I was 17 (I’m now 27). I started my withdrawal bleed on the 30th of July and I was wondering if this means I am on cycle day 17 or cycle day 14? I am using natural cycles and it has told me that I should ovulate soon but I haven’t had any lines on the sticks :/ I will continue to monitor but I’m just wondering if anyone had to wait a long time for a positive OPK? Many thanks :)

acaciabluebell · 12/08/2020 14:51

@Daffodil21 No AF yet, still got lower back aches so it could come at any moment. After I did my recalculations I changed my guesstimated ovulation date on my tracking apps and they now say AF is expected to start tomorrow/Friday. So still got some time.

Welliedays · 12/08/2020 15:55

Hi @intrigued2020 I'm afraid I can't help on your query as I haven't been on any contraception for years (and when I came off it, it wasn't because I was ttc). But your cd1 would be the first day of your bleed, but I've seen alot of comments from people saying that cycles can be quite erratic when you first come off the pill and that ovulation might not happen or it might not be until much later in your cycles until your body gets used to the hormone changes. I could be completely wrong so don't take my word for it, but I'd say try not to stress too much at the moment as your body will be trying to settle itself. Maybe keep testing if you have cheap ones but don't expect this month to be your usual pattern

Tofu35 · 12/08/2020 16:07

Hi @intrigued2020, I can't help with the contraception question but as a fellow natural cycles user- if you've had your temperature dip, you'll likely get your positive ovulation result after 2 days of temperature increase. If that makes sense!

Good luck and welcome to the thread :)

Intrigued2020 · 12/08/2020 16:49

Hi @Welliedays - thank you for your reply. I will take it that I am on day 14 then as that’s when my withdrawal bleed started. I know it’s early days but I feel like I think about this all the time 😂😂 I have read that a lot of people struggle with having a normal cycle after coming off of the pill so I’m very intrigued to see what happens with mine. I purchased the £1 ovulation strips (5 in a pack) from the pound shop so I’m not spending very much money but it does mean that I want to test all the time! We will have to wait and see 😝.

@tofu35 - Hi, thank you for your reply :) it’s nice to speak to someone that is also using natural cycles. I’ve found it very interesting to chart my temperature on there and I know that I need to take everything with a pinch of salt at the moment until I have more cycle data. My BBT was quite high when I started my withdrawal bleed and then it has slowly gone down so I’m waiting for it to go up at some point. I will have to keep an eye. How long have you been using natural cycles?

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 18:56

@Intrigued2020 so I’m exactly like you! I was on the pill from 16, and I came off two months ago (I’m now 31). I had withdrawal bleed four days after stopping, then 16 days later had a period. That’s considered your first proper period so after that is your first official cycle (mine was then 27 days) and now I’m on my second cycle. It sounds like you had a quick withdrawal bleed which is good as some people wait a month or so! I’ll be honest, it’s unlikely you’ll ovulate this month from what I’ve read but totally not impossible!! It does happen 😊 welcome to the group!
@Tofu35 hahaha more monitored than the BB house 😂 it’s good though. And yes loads of thunderstorms here! But more lightening than thunder?!

Intrigued2020 · 12/08/2020 19:21

@Dogscanlookup - Ooo that’s interesting! Yeah I was thinking maybe it won’t happen and I will just get my AF soon. It’s so exciting waiting to see what happens! I get excited every morning to take my BBT to see if it has changed! Where are you in cycle 2? And are you using any specific sticks/ apps?

Dogscanlookup · 12/08/2020 19:58

@Intrigued2020 it is so exciting! I just realised I might have sounded negative in my last post, it wasn’t meant to be! I read so many people conceive super quick after coming off the pill 😊 I DL Clue straight away just to keep track, this month I’m using CB OPKs, and I got a static smiley too which was so relieving as I wondered if I would even have this as I have no idea about my cycles or anything as I’ve been on the pill for long! I deffo recommend just for peace of mind everything is working well. I’m on CD23, and 7DPO. AF due Tuesday but I’m not gonna test til Thurs earliest as I dunno if my cycles are regular yet!
Clue is amazing, btw, just because you can put in everything from skin to hair condition, to breast pain etc so for me it’s just been fascinating seeing all these new patterns I didn’t get on the pill! Have you noticed any changes since coming off?

Intrigued2020 · 12/08/2020 20:06

@Dogscanlookup - No you didn’t sound negative at all! What you said is true! I’m thinking I should get a CB OPK for my next cycle as it seems like a lot of people on this chat are using them! I’m wondering if mine are too cheap to actually work 😂😂 Thats exciting that you are 7 DPO, I bet you are nervous about getting your AF! I haven’t noticed any changes since coming off from the pill. I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Maybe it will take a while for the hormones to leave my body?
