@Daffodil21 Hope you get your static smiley 💪🏽

No AF yet thank god because that would mean a really short luteal phase! I think I'm 11dpo today. Last month AF came on 12/13dpo. Kind of regretting not doing OPKs this month because I honestly don't know what dpo I really am. Imagine I'm actually only 2dpo 😂. Or (and this is a real possibility) I may not have even ovulated at all! Anyway, I am still getting pre-AF backaches, cramping and sore boobs. Also have had this annoying mild cold/flu like feeling the past few days. And totally dry in terms of CM, so I dunno.

Bit of a TMI question... anyone know if having erm, frequent vigorous sex (😂) is bad for implantation? DH and I have dtd for like 6 days in a row loool (just for fun). Is it better to reduce frequency of dtd during the TWW?

acaciabluebell · 10/08/2020 10:46

BFN on FRER, 11/12dpo. Think I'm out this month 😔

Daffodil21 · 10/08/2020 11:31

@acaciabluebell you're not until AF. I've seen lots of posts about FRERs being dodgy lately, including giving false positives. So if you do get a positive maybe get a different brand to double check too!

Not sure on your implantation question btw but glad to see TTC isn't having a negative affect on your sex life!

Day 5 of flashing smiley for me now 😒

OP posts:
acaciabluebell · 10/08/2020 12:10

@Daffodil21 Hmm maybe I should get some CB tests then? I just feel a bit disheartened cos I feel like if there's anything there it should be showing up on a FRER by now.

I'm sure AF will show up soon . It's weird though, because it doesn't feel like it's coming yet. I felt strong AF like cramping 2 days ago, but yesterday + today I've not felt anything except a very mild lower back ache. Been a bit emotional the past few days though and feeling tired etc.

Planning to wait until 14dpo (CD31) before testing again. I'm on CD29 today. I've only ever had 1 cycle longer 31 days in the past 5 years, it's usually 23-30 days.

Sorry to hear that you're still having flashing smiley! Are you testing twice a day? Must be frustrating, I know the CB strips are expensive!

Daffodil21 · 10/08/2020 12:29

@acaciabluebell I don't think CB are a sensitive but I personally trust them more. I got my first squinter on an internet cheapie, and then confirmed with a CB digital, but no idea how many dpo I was as I wasn't tracking that month. It was definitely after AF would have arrived though as I did the internet cheapie when I got home from work as I couldn't stop peeing all afternoon, and then did the CB after dinner. That was a year ago next week 😭

I know it's hard but I would try and do as you say, and wait until after your longest cycle. You'll just be stressing about the uncertainty if not. I've banned myself from any early testing as I just can't be doing with it anymore!

Yeah I've been testing twice a day since the flashing but no luck. I'm not too worried about the cost tbh, I've spent so much money in the last couple of years that I just don't care anymore. Plus I got this box of 20 when they were on sale on amazon at £16 (so let's hope they're not fakes!). I'm not using them to time dtd, just to time a blood test and to know how long my cycle will be. Was hoping it would be under 36 days this month but doesn't look like it 😒

Hi girls, please can I join your chat, I've actually been following your previous threads but haven't been able to register... It turns out I'd been autoblocked for some reason, but now we're all good! Just as a bit of background about me, we thought we'd start trying last month as we had our wedding day and we're having our reception next year, so would love for a little one to appear in between (I know that's a big ask!!). Anyway, I thought we'd done it last month and the first of trying, I got a really faint BFP the day my period was due... And then had a bad bleed and a negative after, so it must have been a chemical Hmm (this happened a week before the wedding). But we've got back on board and have tried again this month. I'm not tracking as don't want to appear too obsessed yet as my husband will totally think he's married a crazy person 😂 but I'm on my tww now and I'm already hating it! Does anyone else find themselves touching their boobs willing them to be sore?! My boobs were so sore last month which is what gave it away for me and prompted me to test!

FurBabyMum02 · 10/08/2020 17:25

Hi ladies! Hope u don't mind me jumping in with something that's a little of topic for what u have going on here but related to TTC.

Does anyone have concerns about TTC during covid?

My main ones are restrictions on partners being at scans (particularly following MC, will be hard going alone in case there is bad news again), trying not to become a hermit while TTC/ pregnant but still being cautious about getting covid, and grandparents visiting once baby is here and potentially not being able to hold little one.

Wishing everyone luck aswell, sounds like you are all working really hard on making your dream come true, hoping to join u soon but need to try and stop this niggling doubt about covid.

Bam27 · 10/08/2020 18:36

@Welliedays welcome to the thread! Can totally relate to the whole touching your boobs and hoping there sore! First thing I do each morning during tww! 😂

@FurBabyMum02 welcome to the thread. I completely get your concerns about ttc during covid I think about a lot to. I decided that if I fall pregnant and they won't allow my fiance at scans that I would book a private scan. Someone i know did this recently so her husband could see baby for the first time. Some private clinics allow them in and I don't think it was too expensive.

FurBabyMum02 · 10/08/2020 19:17

@Bam27 I've seen that Yer there are some near us that do an early reassurance scan for about £60 so I'd be more than happy to pay that and have DH there for the first one at least. Our local hospital are only allowing partners at the 20 week annomoly scan atm

Welliedays · 10/08/2020 19:45

@Bam27 but then you have to try and remember if they were this sore last month or not. I'm sure mine are as sore as they were last month when I had a chemical, but then I couldn't tell you if they were sore the month before that or not as I wasn't touching them then 😂

Dogscanlookup · 10/08/2020 22:41

Welcome all newbies! I’ve been so busy in the new office it’s hard to find time to come on here!
@Welliedays I’m also in the TWW! When are you due to be able to test? I’ll be min 10dpo on 17th. I’d like to told out til 19th but don’t think I’ll be able to!
@Daffodil21 reaally hope you get your static smiley soon. Hopefully tomorrow! Are you still testing afternoon too?
@FurBabyMum02 I was worried about the lack of partner being allowed to the scan! I’m on private though so now wondering if it won’t be an issue.
@acaciabluebell fingers crossed for you with BFP! Definitely sounds a little suspicious..?!

Welliedays · 10/08/2020 22:49

@dogscanlookup I don't properly track, but I think I'm about 5 or 6dpo now, so to play it safe I'd go with 17th too (and I also have an excuse as when I phoned the EPU with my chemical last month they told me to test again in a fortnight to be sure, which would be next week). If its a positive I know it will be from this time round though but I don't want to get my hopes up after the 2 days I managed last time before I started bleeding (I tested on my AF due date last time)

Bam27 · 11/08/2020 08:43

Arrgghh unexpectedly got my static smiley yesterday afternoon, earlier than I thought. We dtd sunday and tried last night but OH was so tired and felt so much pressure that he couldn't "finish". I feel so disappointed and this isn't the first time this has happened. How am I ever going to get pregnant if we can't dtd at the right time? 😭 I know it's not his fault and it wasn't for lack of trying, but I just can't help feeling so annoyed.

iloveyoubutilovememore · 11/08/2020 08:56

Room for one more?

First month of trying for #2. Have three year old DS.

Haven't been tracking ovulation so decided to get some tests yesterday. Got a static smiley last night and again this morning, so that means ovulation is coming right? I feel really stupid not knowing!

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 09:18

Welcome @Welliedays and congrats on your wedding! Sorry to hear about your chemical last month.

@FurBabyMum02 we briefly talked about putting it on hold due to COVID but immediately decided not to as we've been trying too long already, so didn't want to delay it anymore. What will be will be when/if it comes to scans etc in my opinion - I can't really think that far ahead right now! I get what you mean about scans following MC but I think there are places that allow partners now.

@Bam27 we sometimes have that problem too. The gap between AF and O we have the best sex, and then as soon as it counts he puts too much pressure on himself and sometimes doesn't get there. We had this problem yesterday after work, but did manage to properly dtd when we went to bed. (We're not sex-mad, it was a spontaneous post work session! 😂) although still on bloody flashing so probably made no difference. If you dtd tonight you should be fine, the timi. You describe works out with SMEP so I wouldn't worry!

Welcome @iloveyoubutilovememore. Yes. It means you should ovulate in the next 12-48 hours.

@Dogscanlookup still no static! On day 6 of flashings. Have been testing twice a day since flashing. The flashing smiley face is just mocking me now 😂 think I'm already out this month!

acaciabluebell · 11/08/2020 09:19

So I did a IC this morning and I thought I saw some kind of shadow for the first time ever...but the more I looked at it, the line was white and looked like an indent 😒 The ICs I have are terrible, unfortunately I only got them cos they were cheap lol. I obviously then did a FRER which was BFN 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, I had a realisation last night that as I didn't track ovulation this month, I may not be 13dpo as I've guesstimated. I based my guess on the last day that I had EWCM. But I looked on Flo and last month I actually ovulated 2 days after I last noticed EWCM (and I tracked last month). If I followed the same pattern this month then today I'm actually only 10-11dpo. Makes me feel a bit better about all the BFNs 😂

Today's CD30 and I don't feel like AF is coming, but every time I go to the bathroom I'm surprised to not see it. I normally get EWCM before AF too, but right now I've got a very small amount of watery, lotion like CM.

@iloveyoubutilovememore when you get a static OPK it means your LH has peaked and you will likely ovulate within 12-36 hours so you should DTD as soon as you can ☺️

@Bam27 I'm sorry I know that can be so frustrating - I've been there. It can be tough on our DPs to perform when they know there's pressure there.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 09:26

@Bam27 I meant the timing you describe is the same as SMEP!

@acaciabluebell all sounds very confusing! I hate the symptom spotting in the tww. Every month I think I have symptoms and then af arrives! Sounds very promising that you don't feel like AF is about to start though!! 🤞🤞🤞

OP posts:
Bam27 · 11/08/2020 09:33

@iloveyoubutilovememore welcome to the thread, a static smiley means you will ovulate soon. It detects the LH surge that triggers ovulation.
@Daffodil21 That's the exact same for us, great sex between AF and ovulation! As much as I don't want other people to have the same issue, it is very comforting knowing we aren't the only ones with this problem. Reassuring to hear we are still in with a chance as well. Hopefully tonight he can cross the finish line.
@acaciabluebell it's so disappointing when it happens! I don't blame him and I'm not annoyed 'at' him, it's just frustrating. Didn't realise it was such a common problem. Sorry about the negative hpt, hopefully its just to early to detect.

Dogscanlookup · 11/08/2020 12:24

@Daffodil21 that flashing smiley does get annoying but at least it showed at all and hopefully static is just round the corner!

With regards to the TWW, I’m not gonna symptom spot. The more I read, symptoms don’t start appearing until 4-5 weeks pregnant for a lot of woman anyway which is generally after a BFP would show so I’m going to assume I have none! Easier said right...

Quick question, going by last month AF is due 18th for me. But if I base my DPO on second static smiley that would only mean 12DPO on the 18th. Is that the best date to test? WHY IS THIS SO CONFUSING

Poppyismyfavourite · 11/08/2020 13:08

@FurBabyMum02 and @Bam27 about partners being at scans - our trust wasn't letting them come, so we had a private dating scan about 5 days before the NHS 12-week one - I just didn't want to be on my own if it was bad news. It was the cheapest/most basic scan they offered and was just £45. Well worth it in my opinion, and I saw a lot more of the baby than at the NHS one as they had a second screen in front of you!

Bam27 · 11/08/2020 13:29

@Poppyismyfavourite thanks for the info, it's definitely reassuring knowing that is an option... How are you doing? 12 week scan! That's gone quick!

Poppyismyfavourite · 11/08/2020 13:42

@Bam27 I'm OK thanks - actually at my 12 week scan the baby wasn't big enough to do the nuchal fold measurement, so I have another one tomorrow!
I'm feeling less tired but I've had horrendous pelvic pain (in the sacroiliac joint apparently) the last week or so which has been awful... Last sunday I was in tears just walking down the stairs, but it's a lot better now!

Bam27 · 11/08/2020 14:17

@Poppyismyfavourite I had to Google that, never heard of the nuchal fold before. Sorry you've been in pain. I'm glad it's starting to feel better, hopefully it stays that way!

Poppyismyfavourite · 11/08/2020 14:59

@Bam27 It's the measurement they use for the Down's, Edward's and Patau's syndrome test. I'd never heard of the last two but they're also chromosomal abnormalities that basically mean even if the baby is born alive it probably won't survive :S

Daffodil21 · 11/08/2020 16:23

I just got another flashing smiley 😒 DH says when it starts laughing that's when it's taking the piss 😂

@Bam27 don't worry you are not alone! When it happens he feels really guilty afterwards and I'm like 'no it's fine! It doesn't matter!' When really I'm fuming 😂 (not at him)

@Poppyismyfavourite I can't believe you're already at the 12 week scam stage! Please do keep us posted!
