No updates @Elakiya, but thank you for checking in. Next scan is in a week and a half - I'll be over 8 weeks then so they'll hopefully be able to rule out a molar pregnancy and see a heartbeat, currently just trying to keep positive. Hope you're ok x

Elakiya · 26/08/2020 17:20

@Tink2019 Stay positive I'm sure it will all workout well. How long have you been trying by the way?

I am okay, I've been seeing someone privately about my infertility. Basic stuff is covered on my insurance. So now I have to have a HSG scan which is covered by the insurance and some blood work done. My husband needs to do a semen analysis (which we're going to pay for as it seems impossible to even get a hold of my GP). Then we'll go back to the consultant and see what he says.

I was initially very obese and now I'm in the overweight category but if I have to go back to the NHS I know they'll not even care unless I get down to my healthy weight :(. I really need to focus on weight loss which is becoming very difficult.

Tink2019 · 26/08/2020 18:59

@Elakiya that's good you've got the ball rolling - hopefully all will come back ok and it'll give you some peace of mind. Or, it'll pinpoint what the problem areas are so you can focus on those and hopefully change them. We had all the tests and everything came back ok except consultant didn't think I was ovulating each month - they prescribed me Clomid but I decided to try the 'natural' version (soy isoflavones) first and it did the trick. It must be so so hard trying to lose weight at the moment with lockdown - I have the opposite issue, I'm naturally very very petite and always worried it would cause issues from a fertility point of view. Hang in there and try not to put pressure on yourself xx

Elakiya · 27/08/2020 11:11

@Tink2019 did you find consultants telling you to gain weight? My friend at work had that and then they finally put her on clomid and she got pregnant within 4 cycles.

I’ve started to be good with the eating again and probably won’t get my scans and bloods done for another 2 months so trying to lose at least 5kg-10kg before then.

Went on a 1 hour brisk walk yesterday and I am only eating between 8-4 now as well so fingers crossed I get there 😁

justlonelystars · 27/08/2020 11:29

Hey everyone! So my body seems to have decided to skip ovulation this month. No peak results on my LH test strips. There’s always next month I suppose!

Tink2019 · 27/08/2020 11:44

@Elakiya not consultants but I did have some friends say it which really pissed me off as it's not like I don't eat normally! It sounds like you're doing everything you can 😊 x

@justlonelystars oh no, maybe you missed it?

justlonelystars · 27/08/2020 11:46

@Tink2019 maybe - but my temperature dipped at the “correct” time but my test strips peaked at 20% and went back to zero. DTD anyway just in case! I’ve been very run down the past month (work and personal life stress) so maybe my body is just taking a bit of a break!

SarahTTC2020 · 27/08/2020 17:11

The soy flavones... Do you have to wait until cd1?
I'm cd50 and just feel like cd1 isn't going to happen😔

hollywhooo · 27/08/2020 18:56

@SarahTTC2020 i feel exactly the same as you. I’m day 30 (ovulated day 31 last cycle) and my OPK lines non existent so expecting a 100day plus cycle again :(

SarahTTC2020 · 27/08/2020 19:39

@hollywhooo so disheartening isn't it x

xoJellyBean · 27/08/2020 22:35

How we doing girls? I'm so tired these days for dtd lol managed today on cd13 so will try every other day now🤣 still not up for tracking or testing anything this month tho x

restingbface · 28/08/2020 11:18

Hi @xoJellyBean my OPK’s are all over the place! No idea if I’ve ovulated yet as they keep jumping up and down. Managed to DTD every day so far 😂 but we’ve just been contacted by track and trace so have to isolate for 14 days so fingers crossed we stay symptom free & we can keep up DTD ! X

SarahTTC2020 · 28/08/2020 11:59

@xoJellyBean not so good... Cd51 for me.
Contacted the Dr and they just text to say that because I mentioned irregular periods I should phone to book a blood test for CD1 ... Well if I knew when cd1 was going to be then I wouldn't have irregular periods.
At least call me for a triage conversation rather than a bloody text 😔

hollywhooo · 28/08/2020 13:55

@SarahTTC2020 i really feel your pain. The doctors really worried me the other day telling me my progesterone was low and then when i spoke to a different GP she said it wasnt even worth doing the blood test as its no point checking levels when you dont know how far off ovulation you are.
I am so so so fed up at the moment. I honestly cant see it ever happening x

SarahTTC2020 · 28/08/2020 14:26

Thank you @hollywhooo it doesnt feel like there's much support out there for irregular periods. When you Google 'missing period' then it's just loads of pregnancy shit. And the Dr texting to say have sex throughout your cycle and not just when you're ovulating isn't helpful because how does she even know I'm ovulating 🤷🏼‍♀️

duckii · 28/08/2020 19:05

After taking soy this month, I have my first flashing smiley at cd17.. a lot earlier for me. I even feel like ovulation is coming soon. Now dtd time, I have such a busy stressful week at work as well! Why is ttc such hard work..

Congratulations on all the BFPs x

Aww this is so frustrating. Can you try and speak to another Dr?

hollywhooo · 28/08/2020 20:14

Girls i just tested as i’ve had sore boobs and my OPKs have been weird like non existent test line and i had this. It’s a superdrug test i’m sure they’re known for being faulty? I’m starting to panic my hormones are broken lol

hollywhooo · 30/08/2020 14:00

I know. Even my boyfriend said there was clearly 2 lines on the first test. Never mind. On the plus side i had a dark test line on an OPK today so fingers crossed ovulation isn’t far away. How you doing? Xx

xoJellyBean · 30/08/2020 18:41

@hollywhooo so disappointing I'm sure 😔 I would defo write a review for that, it's damaging! I'm fine thank you. I have dreamt about getting positive pregnancy tests 3 nights in a row 😭 always wake up thinking it's true lol thank goodness for here to vent x
