Anyone starting their TWW now?

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is starting their TWW now? I got my peak on OPK yesterday around 2pm, another peak this morning but not as dark as yesterday! Think I have ovulated today (had some weird pains and cramps!) so now it’s a waiting game!

AF should be due on 19th/20th June but this is my first proper cycle since a MC back in April so not 100% sure if I’m going back to 28 days.

Anyway some TWW buddies would be lovely to keep ourselves sane Grin

Morning ladies!

Totally with you @Darcy86 I am really nervous about testing early, I say I won’t do it but come 8DPO I’ll crack out the cheapies Grin

Early start for me today, can’t seem to sleep past 6am at the moment- this happened to me last time after ovulation when I conceived but trying not to think like that. Anyway temperature increased nicely this morning which meant the Femometer app changed my ovulation to Friday 5th- I didn’t get my peak until Saturday afternoon so I don’t see how that can be right but hey ho! So I’m anything between 2 and 4DPO I suppose it doesn’t make much difference in the scheme of things.
I wanted to see if another app agreed so used my early start to download fertility friend and enter all of my BBTs this cycle! That also agrees that I must’ve ovulated on Friday 🤔
I’ve got my cover line now though so interesting to see how my temp increases and if it detects an implantation dip!

Anyone starting their TWW now?

Any other symptoms to report? I have a backache, acid reflux and insomnia Grin oh and more egg white looking CM!

@youmoo what does the increase in temperature signify? Sorry, I've always been confused by the highs and lows when people temp!

No symptoms for me! I'm sure I'll be cracking out the ICs at the weekend too 🤦🏼‍♀️

Kaybobx · 09/06/2020 08:59

Morning ladies,

This temping is all so interesting. I'm going to give it a go next month.... Well hopefully i wont need to Confused
Sorry silly question, what sore of thermometer do you use and where do you take the temperature from?

No symptoms for me yet, think I'm 4DO. Just abit of watery CM.
I'll be cracking open the cheap strips too Grin as much as i should wait i just can't resist.

Darcy86 · 09/06/2020 09:31

Fingers crossed for you @yoomoo ! Fertility Friend looks great, I keep meaning to download it. I also use Femometer but have only started tracking my BBT for the past 5 days or so. I'm fluctuating between 36.52 and 36.65 at the moment but obviously I have nothing to compare that to so it's a bit meaningless at the moment!

Nothing new to report here, still pretty thirsty with a dry throat and the occasional pull in my abdomen although to be honest I haven't felt that as much this morning so far. CM basically non existent! Starting to think it might not be our month, but it ain't over till the red lady sings as they say.

@Kaybobx I bought a Femometer one, about a tenner on Amazon, it comes with an app. There is a premium version but the freebie gives you all the basics. You take it every morning before you get up, should be around the same time (I try to do it within the same hour each day). I just pop it in my mouth, under the tongue for a minute or so until it beeps - nice and easy Smile

Good luck to everyone, keep us updated on any testing!

Morning all.

Had a weird thing this morning where I used CB digital opk after getting solid smiley Sunday am. And today it is STILL solid smiley. I prob shouldn't have tested it again 🤦🏻‍♀️. I had bad ovulation pain Sunday on the day of positive opk, and lots of EWCM up to Sunday. But has anyone had continuous smileys? I'm worried I still maybe haven't O'd yet. I don't temp unfortunately. Thanks xxx

Kaybobx · 09/06/2020 10:40

@Kangaroo77 i just found this from clearblue, someone else asked the same question.

Thanks for your message, If you are using the Clearblue ADVANCED Digital Ovulation Test the solid smiley face indicates that the holder has detected your LH surge and it will display Peak Fertility for 48 hours to indicate your most fertile time. The screen will clear after 2 days, and your holder and any remaining test sticks can be saved for use in a future cycle. If you test again after the screen has cleared and there is still some LH in your system it may display another Peak Fertility result. However, there is no value in continue testing after you've seen Peak Fertility. I hope this helps CB

yoomoo · 09/06/2020 19:46

Evening all, any other new symptoms to report?

I’ve copied below a link to a useful article on temping it explains it really well I think, it’s more about seeing patterns as the rises only happen after certain things but the idea is if you temp enough cycles you’ll get an idea of when you ovulate. I’m still confused both apps are saying it was Friday for me but I guess they have all sorts of clever ways to decide that. It does make sense for my cycle length though for it to have been Friday.

@Kangaroo77 as @kaybobx said you can’t use those CB digital ovulation tests after the peak because that’s all they display Smile best to use cheapie ones after getting your peak on there to check it’s gone negative. After I had my peak on the CB on Saturday by Monday the cheap ones were negative again.

Thanks @Kaybobx and @yoomoo. The cheap ones are def negative. Xx

bluebubbles12 · 09/06/2020 20:24

Thanks for the article @yoomoo, it makes a lot more sense now! I'll definitely be temping next month if I have no luck this month. It will be interesting just to see what happens with our bodies without us even realising it!

SVC11 · 09/06/2020 22:10

Heeyyy can I join. 1DPO... First time ttc so trying not to get my hopes up... Not sure how long my cycle is since coming off the pill soooo will prob test in 2 weeks... Around the 23rd? Sound right anyone? Lol I'm v new to this

bluebubbles12 · 10/06/2020 08:45

Morning all and hello @SVC11! Have you used anything to track ovulation for your first month and do you know when AF is due? If not then in two weeks would be a good time to test. Implantation can take place anywhere from 6 to 12 DPO, but most apparently happen 8 or 9 DPO and that's when the hormones will kick in and be able to be detected with a test. Fingers crossed for you!

Anyone feeling anything at all? If I really thought about it, I'd say I felt a little nauseous when I first woke up, but still nothing obvious that's making me think anything is going on. Still very early days though!

bluebubbles12 · 10/06/2020 08:48

Sorry @SVC11 I forgot that you'd said about coming off the pill. My first cycle coming off the pill was 35 days, followed by 29, 28 and 29 so mine seems to have got back into a rhythm quite quickly. I didn't track anything for the first couple of months though so I wouldn't know at what point in the 35 days I ovulated.

Flossy20 · 10/06/2020 09:38

Hey everyone! Been watching these threads for a while and have learnt so much in the last month or so and thought it was time to join in the chats if that's ok 😊

I'm 2 DPO, 2nd month TTC with my husband who I've been with for 10 years. I'm 35 and he's 36. I'm using apps, tracking temp and using OPK'S to help. I luckily have a very regular cycle, 28 days and never really longer or shorter than a day. We did get pregnant around 6 years ago (not through trying) it didn't work out but gives me hope that our bodies were working.
Good luck to everyone this month, I have a good feeling 😊

yoomoo · 10/06/2020 11:34

Hi @SVC11 welcome to the thread! I came off the pill mid December last year and it took until end of January to get my first proper AF! I tested every couple of weeks in case I’d managed to ovulate but no luck. I think your plan sounds good! It’s so frustrating waiting for the first period to arrive. Hopefully you’ll be lucky though Smile I don’t know who these people are that get pregnant while taking it Grin

Which DPO are you today @bluebubbles12? I am feeling nauseous today, like a lump in throat type feeling 🤢 not sure if I’m just hungry though 😂 my apps reckon I’m 5DPO but not sure, could only be 3DPO!

Welcome @Flossy20 we are all around the same DPO at the moment, had a busy week last week Grin I’ve also got a good feeling this month Smile

My temp has risen again today to 36.5 which is good! My boobs are starting to feel vaguely weird, only sore if I prod them though which I’ve been doing a lot 😂 one thing I have noticed is my nipples are constantly poking out! Glad I’m working from home all the time now. This morning I’m having weird stabby feelings on both sides so not sure what that is, almost like a poker in there! Trying to remember what I felt like when I was pregnant back in April and some of it is seeming similar. I just hope things go to plan this time, although I knew something wasn’t right as didn’t get BFP until 1 week after AF was due so I guess it just wasn’t a very sticky one. Didn’t see good line progression either so excited to see that!

SVC11 · 10/06/2020 11:39

Hey everyone. Yes I should have said I have been using opks and had an LH surge on the 8th June and got ewcm 8th and 9th (I couldn't actually believe how by the book it was). So hoping that was a good sign that I ovulated, so hoping I'm now in the TWW will see if af turns up or not x

LittleTooMuch · 10/06/2020 12:00

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say thank you so much!! I have been reading all your messages and I now feel 'normal'. I am currently on day 22 of my cycle and overthinking EVERYTHING. My boobs are heavy, I have a cramping pain in the right side of my stomach and I know deep down its probably nothing but as I say i'm overthinking everything. My husband tells me its nothing and I will be dissapointed next week but I'm so glad to read your messages and I now don't feel so stupid

krj2608 · 10/06/2020 12:08

Hi everyone!

I'm following along too. Currently day 22, 6/7dpo ( I think!) this is baby no 3, 4th pregnancy.

Woken up feeling extremely sick, shaky, light headed and cramps in my stomach. Surely it's way too early for that!

Good luck all x

bluebubbles12 · 10/06/2020 12:14

Hello @Flossy20 and @LittleTooMuch! Looking forward to following your journeys! When do you think you'll be testing?

@yoomoo I'm CD23 today, due AF either Tuesday 16th or Wednesday 17th. I got my peak on Friday morning, so I'm assuming I ovulated on Saturday which makes me 4DPO today.

LittleTooMuch · 10/06/2020 12:24

@bluebubbles12 - honestly? I don't plan to test because I'm in that negative frame of mind that AF will come and I won't need to test. AF is due next tuesday though so we will see

Ella17393 · 10/06/2020 12:25

Hi Ladies, I’m new to mumsnet and I am TTC baby #1. This is second try and I am 3 DPO, I woke up quite early in the morning with the sudden urge to pee a few times and also developed a stuffy nose. I have noticed some discomfort on the left side of my lower back and I can feel some sort of movement in my uterus. Hoping for a positive this month, I try not to get my hopes up but I can’t help it lol

LittleTooMuch · 10/06/2020 12:37

@ella17393 I have only just joined myself, it's so hard not to overthink things isn't it and I'm trying for #1 too so with not knowing what is and isnt a sign its so hard!! I think because the early signs of pregnancy and AF are so alike as well it makes it even more easy to look for symptoms

Flossy20 · 10/06/2020 12:49

It is sooo hard not to over think every little niggle or pain isn't it? I know when I was pregnant before my boobs hurt so bad so think of I get that pain my mind will go into overdrive!

@bluebubbles12 AF is due on the 22nd and I want to try and hold out till then, but know I'll probably end up testing around the 20th, as I just can't help myself 😂

@SVC11 I am the same, peak on the 7th and then egg white 8th and 9th. It's my first month using OPK's so it was really fascinating after reading all about what happens through a cycle to see it actually happen.

SVC11 · 10/06/2020 21:59

I liked using opks although I'm glad I had a surge so early as I think I would have gotten disheartened with it as I've read some people have, even though I kind of expected it to take much longer. Nipples are rreeaallyyy sensitive today... Sorry tmi... But I think this is more to do with coming off the pill than anything else as I'm only 3dpo.

Mistymonday · 11/06/2020 01:11

I am needing to pee a lot, which I am tempted to say is unusual but then I don’t recall if this is normal for this part of my cycle - but that is silly as it was only a month ago! Hmm
