Anyone TTC after stopping the pill?

Hi,
I’m a newbie to mumsnet and a newbie to TTC.
My partner and I are TTC after deciding to postpone our wedding to end of summer 2021 (was originally May this year) due to covid. Our plan was to TTC after marriage but we’re so impatient and thought we would give it a go now.
I have been on the pill since I was 16 (I am now 27). Switched to implant in October 2017 then got it removed in January this year to go back onto the pill. Anyway, I stopped taking the pill on 13th May. However... I had gone straight onto the next pill pack to avoid the withdrawal bleed 7 days prior to this so hadn’t had a bleed for 5 weeks. Had a withdrawal bleed 16th-19th May. I have been checking CM, no EWCM that I’ve noticed yet. Have also been using ovulation test strips daily and all been negative so far.
I’m using the Clue app (always have done since switching to implant to track periods) and it’s saying that I’m currently in my fertility window with today being my most fertile day yet no signs or positive ovulation test. Could the extra 7 days of pill-taking messed up my cycle more than it would have done coming off the pill?

Anyone else TTC after stopping the pill? Or have conceived? What are your experiences? Any tips?

@Intrigued2020 😂 yeah the only time you want a negative as a positive will be very confusing! Hopefully you'll get your BFP in a few weeks.

@Flowerkm - so I did a pregnancy test this morning! I don’t want to get too excited though because I’m still bleeding so I don’t think it’s going to last but I guess I will just have to wait and see! Surely bleeding is not a good sign 😞😞 I think I will re-do a test in a week or 2 to see how it’s going xx

@Intrigued2020 Oh wow, I want to say a tentative congratulations :) totally understand you're probably confused, thats a tricky one. Keep positive and hopefully the bleeding stops 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Do you have a rough idea when you conceived? Is there any chance it could be implantation bleeding? Xx

@Flowerkm - thank you! I honestly have no idea! I had a period on the 1st of September and it was totally normal so I was expecting my next period at the end of the month. I thought it was strange when I had the 5 positive OPKs in a row! That has been for the last week! Haha I’ve actually made myself more confused now that I have done this test! I guess I can only wait to see what happens! Not much else I can do 😞 xx

@Flowerkm - also my temperature shot up today from 36.34 to 36.80!

@Intrigued2020 Oh bless you, honestly Im confused as well! They do say positive OPK can be a sign of pregnancy so maybe thats what it was, really hoping this sticks for you, try and relax and re test in a week or in a couple of days and see if theres progression. Maybe you ovulated super early?

@Intrigued2020 Ah i know, drags so much doesn't it?? Im trying to find things to watch on Netflix to take my mind of it but then I find myself just on my phone on MumsNet lol going out this afternoon for a picnic with friends so that will be a nice distraction and they don't know Im TTC so at least I won't be talking about it :)

Aw thank you, ill keep you posted. I felt really emotional today and short tempered so i think Im out as i usually get this a few days before AF 😂

Hi @Flowerkm thanks for thinking about me :) I’m good thank you! Still bleeding though so it’s been 14 days now! I have spoken to the doctor but they said I need to wait another 2 weeks before they will send me to have a scan because I don’t have any pain and they think it’s too early to see anything. It’s driving me crazy though because I really want an answer now 😂😂 I have been testing everyday though and it says that I am still pregnant so that’s a good sign but obviously I’m wondering when this bleeding will stop. Hopefully they will be able to make me an appointment soon! How are you? Xx

@Intrigued2020 Ahh, bless you. Thats a long time now but it's good the doctors are sending you for scan and that the tests are still positive, must be an agonising wait though! Keeping everything crossed for you. You'll have to keep yourself busy these next few weeks, easier said than done with the restrictions lol sounds silly but i love the adult colouring books 😂

Im good thank you, on CD4 now so bit of a waiting game until ovulation but all good just trying to make the most of the nice-ish weather while we can xx

@Flowerkm - yeah I’m very glad that the tests are still positive! And I’m also glad in way that the bleeding has continued because apparently miscarriage bleeding normally stops after a couple of days so in a way it’s kind of a good thing. I’ve seen the adult colouring books and they do look very therapeutic! Maybe I should get one to pass the time! Aww cycle day 4! At least you can have a fresh start and see where this cycle takes you! I will cross my fingers for you 😁 hopefully we will both have good news when it gets to the end of the month 👌 The weather has definitely got colder but at least the sun is still shining :) xx

I stopped my pill a week sunday... had a one day bleed the Wednesday, well when I say l
Bleed a abit on the tissues when I wiped, nothin since yesterday at all. I havnt had a period since 19th august... I done what to think, is it to early to take a test do yous think... I'm thinkin of waitin a few more days see if anyrgin else happened, but am also thinkin tha one day indie have a little bleed was because I stopped my pill, never usually have abit of bleed, usually I have a full weeks period.... tia x

@Geegee20 Hey which were you on? It sounds like you usually get a week withdrawal bleed and thats odd you haven't had that this time? Do you know if you have ovulated at all?

It can take a while for periods to return but deffo worth doing a test just to make sure in a few days xx

Am on the micro one, I'm just waiting for my doctor to call me back, its wierd because this has never happened before I usyally have a good 5 day period , theres just nothing happeneing🤷🏽‍♀️. Am not sure I have only came off my pill sunday so I was expecting a good period for the week. I think I'll leave it till weekend an maybe dona test them..its so confusing isnt it. Xx

@Geegee20 - Hi! I would definitely take a test just to see! Everyone seems to have such a different experience coming off of the pill so don’t worry if things don’t go back to normal straight away :) xx

I did take one yesterday just a cheap one was negative! I dunno if its to early yet, or it's because it was a cheap one... I think am gunner see what the doctor says when she calls me today an retake one over the weekend xx

@Geegee20 - yeah that’s a good idea! I know that some people haven’t had a period for a couple of months after coming off of the pill so it can really change person to person. I would speak to the GP and maybe take another test next week? xx
