@Lozzlepop yes she said they had to do it to check if there was any genetic reason for my husbands sperm issues in case he passed it on to our children. If they find anything we then have to have genetic counselling. I can see on the form they are also checking if he is a carrier for cystic fibrosis. If she hadn't offered it then I would have asked but pleased I didn't have to. It's crazy how much things seem to vary area by area. It seems to me that she is just following NICE guidelines though. She just keeps saying about what she needs to tick off for referral to IVF 🤷🏻‍♀️ My husband is also having a scrotal ultrasound next week which I didn't know they would do - he is very excited about this 😂

Kiza · 28/08/2020 09:57

@Narwhal88 wow your consultant sounds very thorough! My partner has had 1% morphology on both his SA and they've not done any further testing at all in that regard?
Temp went back up so maybe just an unusual dip for a few days.

Back on the phone with IVF clinic chasing our appointment. Have been on hold 15 minutes already 🤦🏼‍♀️

Lottiepink · 28/08/2020 10:34

Morning everyone 😊

Hope you are all well!

@Narwhal88 that's amazing! So pleased things are moving on for you. How many rounds are you offered? My DH has had that genetic test and all came back fine, hope yours does too 🤞🏻still doesn't help though with why his SA is so low 😕

@Lozzlepop hope you are doing ok?

@Kiza hope you get through soon, I'm so inpatient when on hold on a call 😂

@Annny27 that would be an early ovulation, our bodies sure do like to keep us on our toes!

Weve had our app, my tv scan showed that everything was fine and they couldn't see any problems with me, apparently it looked like both ovaries could release an egg and both a big and full, so they said that it's a good sign. My DH also is getting the ultrasound, waiting for the app to come through. We weren't given any info about when IVF could start. DH has to do another SA before our next app, if it's better I will get the tube test, if it's still the same then they won't do the test on my as there's no point as IVF/ICSI will definitely be needed...

I don't seem to have ovulated yet and on CD21, each day I'm getting the slight pains but not sure why it's taking it's time this month 🙈

Lottiepink · 28/08/2020 10:36

@whatsthecraic91 amazing news, a little boy 💙 congratulations 🙂

Narwhal88 · 28/08/2020 12:30

@Kiza I hope you get through soon and manage to sort the appointment out. Hopefully you will start IVF before me but if not then yay for cycle buddies 🤣
Yeah I've been quite impressed with how many tests we have had so far so can't complain about that. I have read that if morphology alone is low it's not too big of a concern as long as there's a high count but my husbands count is also very low so it makes things worse. I don't think there's much that can be done to improve morphology though.

@Lottiepink glad your scan was all clear. We are offered 2 rounds which is good. Hopefully the genetic test is clear but yeah I know what you mean- why is there hardly any sperm then?!

I got my hopes up this month as AF was 3 days late, started this morning. I am NEVER late but started pregnacare 6 weeks ago and wondering if that's caused it. I'm not too worried as my cycles are too short so this means I actually had a 28 day normal cycle for once. I ovulated slightly later this month as well.

Also just managed to finally book my HSG for 8th September 🙌🏼 even though it doesn't really matter as we need IVF regardless, it will be good to know either way. It's on CD12 and I normally ovulate then which means no sex and no chance at all this cycle. Might be quite nice to relax for a change and not think about it!

This means by 8th September we will have done every single test possible and just have to wait for IVF.

whatsthecraic91 · 28/08/2020 18:46

@Annny27 thank you 😊 I have everything crossed for you as always 🤞🏼

@mrsbecs thanks! Hope you're still feeling good!

@Lozzlepop thank you! So glad you're feeling better ❤️

@Lottiepink thank you ☺️ good news about your scan being clear! 🤞🏼

Always rooting for all you ladies ❤️🤞🏼 take care xx

Annny27 · 30/08/2020 21:41

@whatsthecraic91 thanks lovely! I cannot believe you are 20 weeks! It seems only yesterday you shared your bfp!!!

@Narwhal88 sounds like yiur consultants have been super thorough with your tests and stuff! Sorry AF arrived early:( I have heard pregnancare has messed yp a few peoples cycles in the past

@Lottiepink how soon so they think it would be for you for the ivf? Ahh I hate late ovulation! Has it happened now?

@Lozzlepop I take the progesterone from 3dpo untill either 14dpo if no bfp or continue it for 12 weeks if I do get a bfp!

@kiza did you get any further with the ivf phonecalls?

ValidUser · 31/08/2020 13:36

@whatsthecraic91 and @mrsbecs I'm 10 weeks today. Discharged from IVF clinic until we want another baby, hopefully!

How's everyone today?

whatsthecraic91 · 31/08/2020 13:49

@ValidUser that's such great news! You'll find you are so much more relaxed after your 12 week scan 😊 then once everyone knows it will start flying!! I'm 22+2 already!

Lozzlepop · 31/08/2020 16:18

Hi all!

Hope everyone had a good weekend?

@Narwhal88 I asked if we went down the IVF route if the embryos would be prescreened prior to implantation for genetic issues and was told no and have never been offered the DNA Karyotyping- frustrating that things differ so much by location, obviously good for you guys! Oh wow- i think DF would be horrified at going in for a scrotal scan 😂

@Kiza did you get anywhere with getting your appointment sorted?

@Lottiepink I am doing ok thanks, was meant to be back at work today but thats all been pushed back again which is a pain! Haha scrotal scans all round! Its frustrating when they can't find any issues isn't it?

@whatsthecraic91 thank you ☺️

@Annny27 thanks for letting me know, do they just give you a bulk prescription or do you need to go back every month?

@ValidUser thats fantastic! Are you going to find out what you are having?

So some good news- I have a job interview on Wednesday keep everything crossed for me ladies 🤞🏻

ValidUser · 31/08/2020 17:10

@whatsthecraic91 that's amazing! @Lozzlepop sending off our NIPT on Wednesday and we'll find out then! Best of luck with the interview. 🤞

Narwhal88 · 31/08/2020 17:49

Hi everyone, I've had a really nice weekend actually, filled with friends, tea and biscuits, chilling, dog walks and a nice roast yesterday. Don't want to go back to work tomorrow though 😞

@Lozzlepop I'm not sure they offer PGD on NHS funded IVF so maybe that's why? I'm surprised we have been given karyotyping for my husband but I think it's only due to his poor sperm count which can be a result of a Y chromosome deletion; which would mean any son of his would also inherit his infertility. Fingers crossed this isn't the case though.

@ValidUser oh wow 10 weeks already, it's flying by!

Lottiepink · 03/09/2020 09:15

Good morning everyone!

@Narwhal88 has your DH been advised to change any vitamins etc? Our advice was just to increase veg and fruit. I know the unknown is so frustrating 😂 that's great that you are getting hsg too, they won't book mine until the next app if The next SA comes back bad again..

@Annny27 im so late replying! No they didn't say any timescales, but there is a back log, but hopefully by the next appointment the back log will have cleared a bit... hopefully anyways! I just have it In my mind that it will be next year no matter what now ha! Ovulated CD22, don't know why it was so late, but took a few temps again and they are all over the place 🙈
How you getting on?

@Lozzlepop so sorry to hear about your work getting pushed back, but hope the interview went well?
I know it's really annoying, to be honest though, at least the IVF can still happen, we should be grateful in that respect. I don't understand how they can't offer you any more help/tests, Have you just decided to put it all on hold for the moment until after the wedding and then perhaps seek more private advice?

@ValidUser amazing, seems to be flying by, let us know how you get on 😊

Annny27 · 03/09/2020 21:59

Evening everyone:D I am 1 or 2 dpo now and am waiting for my cm to change completely to creamy before I start my progesterone juuuust incase ovulation hasn't happened yet although I am almost certain it has!

@Lottiepink glad you have ovulated now! Its torture waiting for it when it's delayed 😭 and yes its always better to overestimate how long it will be untill treatments start haha

@kiza any more symptoms or temp changes after your dip??

@Narwhal88 thats really interesting about the infertility being potentially passed on to a son. I had now idea that it could be genetic!

@Lozzlepop I have 4 months worth of prescription which is good as I don't need to keep going back everytime I ovulate haha! If I get a bfp I will have tk go back to get some more as it only has me taking it for half the month obviously at the moment so won't have enough

Hi everyone. I’ve been on holiday so not been around for a couple of weeks. AF is due on Tuesday So I’m just hoping I’m pregnant. I don’t have any symptoms though. I’m 10dpo today. Not read through the thread fully but had a quick scan to see if anyone had a positives

orangeloo · 06/09/2020 11:19

Hey everyone been away for a while not much to report. Got first phone consultation next Friday for nhs referral. Anyone got any good or hopeful news? Hope interview went well @Lozzlepop did you get through to ivf clinic? @Kiza

Annny27 · 07/09/2020 08:57

Morning everyone :) 5dpo today!

@XjustagirlX have you tested? Must have been nice to have a break :D

@orangeloo exciting! Is that for ivf referral or for initial fertility tests? Do you think they will take the results of your private investigations or will they have to do their own?

OP posts:
orangeloo · 07/09/2020 09:13

Hey @Annny27 it's for the ivf referral I don't know if they will want to repeat some tests as my hormones were done nearly 18 months ago now and DP's semen analysis over a year. I don't mind if they want to test thing things again but if it is gonna cause long delays that will be a bummer.

Ooh you're tww- ing FX for you!

XjustagirlX · 07/09/2020 09:28

@Annny27 I’ve not tested yet. I’m 13dpo today. AF due tomorrow. I usually get back pain and spotting the day before AF so I’m waiting to see if I get that today.

I felt nauseous this morning and yesterday morning.

I haven’t been temping this month except a few readings to confirm I had ovulated. I hope ovulation wasn’t delayed and I’m actually earlier than 13dpo.

I’ll keep you updated.

@orangeloo I would check if the nhs will refer you to a private clinic for ivf. When I spoke to the private clinic my area will refer to private and I had no idea that emwaa even possible. Based on my experience with the nhs I would prefer to be at a private clinic than in the nhs list.

orangeloo · 07/09/2020 13:15

@XjustagirlX yes I will go for transfer to private but apparently I have to have the initial convo's with the nhs clinic. I will check on that though so I'm glad you said that.

FX for you!

annahannah · 07/09/2020 20:15

Evening ladies. Hope you're all well. Nice to read the previous posts and see how you are all getting on.

CD12 today and first month using the Clearblue digital ovulation sticks (the 4 day ones) that flash at high fertility and give you a smiley face at peak fertility. Has anyone used these before? Also using stick OPKs as I know where I am with them. Anyway, flashy smiley face today which means high fertility. Apparently women usually get around 4 days of the flashy face before peak fertility is detected.

We'll see how we get on!

XjustagirlX · 08/09/2020 10:36

@annahannah hi yes I use the 4 day clearblue tests. Don’t worry about the 4 days of highs. Some months I have had no highs and others I have had up to about 16. I used to get really stressed if I didn’t see a peak after a few days.

So AF due today on 14dpo. I did a test this morning and it was a v v v faint positive. It doesn’t even show up on a picture. I’m hoping it’s not an evap line. My bbt is still high today.

I’ll do another test in a couple of days. When I had my last miscarriage I didn’t do a test until 17dpo but I had spotting from 14dpo. I’ve had some brown watery when wiping but hopefully it doesn’t turn into full on spotting. I think spotting for me is bad.

Annny27 · 09/09/2020 09:17

Oh wow @XjustagirlX :D let's hope thid sticks!! Have you retested?

@orangeloo yes I imagine they'll want to do some repeat tests but hopefully things are speedy!!

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 09/09/2020 11:26

@Annny27 I’ve not tested today. I’m going to test tomorrow morning again. I had a bit of brown creamy watery blood yesterday but I’ve not had tea blood yet. Hopefully it will be third time lucky. I don’t feel pregnant though. Do people generally feel pregnant this early on?

whatsthecraic91 · 09/09/2020 15:02

@XjustagirlX fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼 I didn't feel pregnant at the start. Only had sore nips & felt warm all the time x
