@Annny27 yes I have what dose have you got? I was given 400mg which is quite high and made me feel quite rough. It's worth it if it works. I did read that if you're on 400mg the dose should be split in two but my clinic did not mention that. Then you just have to decide bum or vag haha

Annny27 · 31/07/2020 08:11

Morning :) cd13 for me!

@narwhal88 thats frustrating :( I have a feeling that nhs things won't grind to a halt like they did originally as they now have new covid secure ways of working and also a less crazy appointment schedule. So delayed probably but not stopped 🤞🤞

@lozzlepop they didn't do the progesterone level tests as they said thats just to check you are ovulating but because I sometimes spot a few days before AF my consultant said that the progesterone couldn't harm if I tried it!

@orangeloo I have the 200mg ones twice a day.....I think i am going go for the back door method haha! I m susceptible to thrush so the less things up the front is for the best haha!

@kiza I dont want to make a big deal of me ttc and being sad about it. Probably sounds counter productive but I deal with rough things alone and then after I have learnt to deal with it I can then tell people "that was a very shitty part of my life haha. I have to deal with them first and then able to share 🤣

Yeahi think today will be a hide from the sun kind of day!

@Larrydavid glad your little girl arrived, I kept up with the pregnancy thread and saw that you had some pretty scary placenta bleeding so I am.glad all was okay 🥰

orangeloo · 31/07/2020 08:17

@Annny27 Ah yes that's good they've already told you 200mg twice a day. I go for back door too it's a lot less messy.

Annny27 · 31/07/2020 09:30

@orangeloo yes I have heard they can be rather messy.....haha! Are you still taking them in your tww?

OP posts:
orangeloo · 31/07/2020 10:03

@Annny27 yes I am, got a couple months supply left 🤞🏼. If not successful in that time nhs ivf referral process should be underway by then anyway.

Annny27 · 31/07/2020 12:52

Fingers crossed :D yeah my nhs referral for initial treatment can happen in november! @orangeloo

I had a nearly peak opk today so ovulation close by :)

Grrrrr frustrated beyond belief regarding my IVF referral! it's at a different hospital to where I had my fertility consultant, I called in June and they said referral accepted just waiting on securing funding. Called again mid July and told funding secured and an appointment letter will arrive within a week. Called today to be told 'oh no you need to contact Gyne outpatients as they deal with all of that and you may need further test'.
I was flabbergasted and asked why this is such different information to what I was told before and also why has someone not contacted me to say I need to call a different department to book an appointment. She just said she doesn't know. I asked her to confirm my funding has been secured and I'm top of the list due to my age as also informed before. She said she couldn't see that.
I called Gyne outpatients and they are closed!
I called her back and asked why do I need addition tests when I've had everything, she said their hospital like to do their own tests!! I said but that's a waste of time and money and also delay my treatment before my 40th birthday in October! She couldn't give me any more answers.

I can't help but wonder what would've happened if I hadn't of chased? Also wonder if she's got it all wrong. Will have to call again Monday but the frustrating thing is no one ever answers the Damm phone, you have to leave a message and the call you back but I'm not always free to answer the phone when they call back as in work appointments of my own.
It's left me angry, worried and so frustrated!
Grrrr sorry for ranting just needed to vent. DP wants to complain but I don't want to complain to PALS until after my treatment as I know how some staff respond to complaints.

Narwhal88 · 31/07/2020 18:23

@Lozzlepop I'm gonna ask my consultant when I see her. She's on leave at the moment and I have an appointment on the 18th anyway.
Good call about putting things on hold for a bit, that's why we waited till 2 months before the wedding before trying (not that it bloody mattered!) it's our 1st anniversary on Monday! This time last year I was so excited and stressed haha!

@Kiza @Annny27 I really hope they don't shut down properly again but I also work in the same hospital trust and know what they are like! I also know they are planning for a second wave end of August/ September. Fertility is not a priority in my trust as it's not one of their specialties, more basic.

@Annny27 @orangeloo bum or vag, what a beautiful choice eh!! 🤣🤣

@Kiza grrrr it's so just bloody frustrating isn't it! Why can anyone just do their job properly? I bet she's got it wrong anyway and you just need to speak to someone else. You really need to advocate for yourself as a patient and just chase everything all the time. Working in the nhs and my own experience worries me how much gets missed and that you have to be so on the ball. I wouldn't trust them to do anything tbh! Can you find out the email address of the gynae dept or a consultant? That's what I've been doing then emailing to find more out haha.

Annny27 · 31/07/2020 22:05

Thats so frustrating @kiza ! You would think the hospital would want to avoid unnecessary tests and redoing tests you have already had done 🙈 yes definitley try to recall the clinic on monday and maybe you will get through to somebody else 🤞🤞

@Narwhal88 i remember being so paranoid about protection before the wedding incase I couldn't find into my dress.....🤣

Kiza · 01/08/2020 12:42

Thanks ladies, went to the gym this morning which has helped push the frustration aside temporarily and now have family and my gorgeous little nephew and furry nephew arriving soon 😊 also baked some cupcakes so will gorge on those!!
What's everyone else up to this weekend?

@Narwhal88 I really hope they don't delay it much longer for you 🤞🏼 I only know the name of the clinic manager and could find her email as I work in the nhs but a different trust... but then worry about making a nuisance of myself and then they give me a lesser treatment due to thinking 'oh it's her!'

@Annny27 did you get your peak today?

ValidUser · 01/08/2020 12:54

@Larrydavid that's wonderful.

@kiza that's so annoying!

I had a minor scare yesterday. I made the silly mistake of POAS for fun and it was less dye-stealing than Monday.

So I got a beta done and it's trebled since Monday so all looks well. Probably the beginning of the hook effect, but I must step away from the tests!

ValidUser · 01/08/2020 12:55

@Kiza what kind of furry nephew?

Annny27 · 01/08/2020 13:16

Afternoon :D

@kiza yes got my peak this morning at cd14! Dtd last night and don't know whether to dtd tonight or tomorrow morning instead just to give sperm some extra time to replenish! Probably just overthinking haha!

Awh thats lovely your family are visiting. Very jealous of the cupcakes!

@orangeloo DH has just gone to pick up my progesterone tablets so imagine those will be started on Monday:)

@validUser glad all is okay! Yes time to stay away from the tests now :D (no point anyway as even when i miscarried and the baby had stopepd growing inside me the tests were BLAZING positive!) So next time I know to stop testing around 5 weeks as it means nothing going forward. Whens your scan?

OP posts:
Kiza · 01/08/2020 17:56

@Annny27 last week I was reading some interesting research articles that said the majority of women ovulate during night hours. Therefore when you've got a positive OPK you're likely to ovulate either that night or the following, this cycle we DTD the night we got the positive OPK and the following morning. Another article said that men's semen is at its peak between 5-7am. So the best semen comes out during morning sex, something about the hormones and melatonin during sleep I think? Can't quite remember?

My sister is on Keto so we were left with tons of cupcakes, gave some to my neighbour to not tempt us both the eat them all!

@ValidUser he's a bischon poodle mix and is adorable, has a proper cheeky personality too!
Yes good idea to keep away from the tests now and stick with the blood results as they sound really positive.

8DPO and tons of creamy/sticky CM, cramps (not had these before during LP) and sore boobs (which is usual progesterone for me during LP).
The cramps and lots of CM are giving me some hope but I'm trying to not overthink it as we've all been here before, convincing ourselves we are pregnant and it turns out to be a BFN.

Lozzlepop · 03/08/2020 08:58

Morning all ☺️ Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!

@Kiza oh it probably won’t be in the shop until January- takes 6 months to make so need to try and not think about it until then hehe! Sounds like you had a fab weekend planned- I am terrible at piping- it never ends well! That’s so annoying about your IVF referral, I would definitely be asking for answers!

@Annny27 it’s really annoying that the advice varies across the board cos I know I ovulate 🤣 but we’ll just wait and see what it comes back as! Oh i didn’t know you had a choice of where you inserted them 😬🙈

@Narwhal88 yeah- realistically I think we will put things on hold until after as I want to enjoy a drink at the wedding without stressing ☺️ Happy Anniversary- do you have anything planned?

@ValidUser Step away from the tests, it will just make you more anxious, just wait till you see that little bean on screen 😃

So after Nicolas announcement last week I won’t be going back to work next week after all 🙈 so frustrating! Is anyone else still on furlough? Also had the worst OV pains last night so have had a terrible sleep 😬

Annny27 · 03/08/2020 11:39

Morning everyone :) had a fairly productive gardening weekend and now my muscles are feeling it :p

Cd16 - I thought i ovulated yesterday but then had another nearly positive opk this morninf so maybe its a 2nd peak and the 1st one didn't quite make it....who knows haha!

@kiza symptoms sound promissing but you never know really do you! Tww can be cruel for pregnanxy symptoms.
Are you going to try and call the clinic again to get a more straightforward answer?

@lozzlepop oh wow! I was never furloughed as I am a "key worker".....whatever that means, I dont like the term as everyone is key really! Looks like you will have more time to put energy into the weddinf haha

OP posts:
Annny27 · 04/08/2020 15:27

Just updating from that - pretty sure I have ovulated now as CM is creamy and boobs slightly bigger. So will start taking the progesterone tomorrow!

OP posts:
Kiza · 04/08/2020 18:10

@Annny27 good luck with the progesterone and hope it's not too messy for you!
@Lozzlepop exciting countdown for you and I'm sure there's a million and one things for you to do for the wedding also!

Called the clinic, good news and bad. Good news is we have an appointment Monday next week. Bad news is it's with another fertility consultant as apparently they may have to redo tests due to 1) it being a different trust and 2) some of the tests may be too old. I can't be arsed to be mad anymore, it feels like hurdle after hurdle. Trying to focus on the positives that it allows us more time for natural conception and to save money for a house deposit.
I booked a lovely spa weekend break for DP and I for my 40th in October, lovely to have something to look forward to and will be collecting my ring soon too!

orangeloo · 04/08/2020 18:55

Hey ladies been away for a bit needed a little break after a bit of a meltdown haha.

Thought I'd share this as I'm fuming about it haha. I have recently invested in healthy shake for my breakfasts (pea protein) £50 and now found out peas are no good for ttc how did I not know this!?!? I'm fine with avoiding peas but really miffed about wasting money with two bags of opened shakes I can't use. No more peas or pea protein for me 🙈

Here's the article

https://www.tomakeamommy.com/peas-fertility-can-peas-and-pea-protein-cause-infertility/

@Kiza sorry about your hold ups but all will roll round quick enough and glad you have something to look forward to.

@Annny27 good luck with the progesterone. They made me feel quite rough and very much like I was pregnant. Also as a heads up. You may be fine, but after testing and getting bfn the day after I stopped the dose I felt quite unwell like a big progesterone comedown. But hopefully you will have success so won't experience this. Smile

Lottiepink · 05/08/2020 09:02

Morning ladies,

Sorry been quiet for a little while, hope you are all well!

@orangeloo ahh how annoying, I would be raging! Interesting read, I have never heard this before. I don't really eat that many peas but it's one of those easy vegetables in the freezer when I'm in a rush 😂 not anymore 🤣 sorry about the wasted money, but at least you have found our now rather than a few months down the line! Other than this mishap, how you doing?

@Kiza so sorry that's rubbish! Least the appointment is only next week, and who knows it may be interesting to compare the tests, as you say least it gives a little longer for natural conception and saving etc. A spa break sounds perfect, and It will be well deserved!

@Annny27 seen the post about the progesterone and having a choice where to put in 🙊 isn't this whole malarkey so lovely 😂 how you feeling about them?

@Lozzlepop congratulations on finding the dress 😊 so exciting! Are you totally fed up of being off now? I'm still WFH which I am still enjoying, will probably go back in a month I think. So handy having the washing on while working, feel like I achieve far more!

orangeloo · 05/08/2020 09:15

@Lottiepink I'm good just hoping I ovulate CD 14 again this month as DP is going abroad for work on CD 12 Confused so really hope those swimmers hang around. Very annoying. How are you doing?

I'm one of the few still furloughed I'm very lucky. going back (most likely first of October) will be very hard.

Annny27 · 05/08/2020 09:24

Morning! Going to start the progesterone today but I am nervous haha!

@orangeloo thanks lovely! I am going to remind myself (and please everyone remind me too haha) that I will feel super pregnant this month on the progesterone so NO symptom spotting for me! P.s if my friend was not single I would be totally convinced you were her now as like a second after I read your message she text me saying "ahh soo annoyed I wasted money on this pea protein powder that I cant even eat" 🤣🤣🤣

@Lottiepink yep why cant they just put it in a pill i can swallow haha 🤣 I like wfh too but I do miss the office environment!

@kiza frustratinf but you are so right, there's no point in getting upset as it is what it is. Your 40th birthday break sounds lovely! Nice to have something to look forward to

OP posts:
orangeloo · 05/08/2020 09:34

@Annny27 🤣 how funny! I feel her wasted shake pain lol. Yes you will feel super preggo lol in a way I enjoyed it as it was like this is what I'd feel like if I was pregnant, how sad lol this is what it does to us.
But yeah symptom spotting will be useless as you will have allll the symptoms.

How many DPOare you? My clinic said start the day of positive OPK but on reading that can sometimes stop u ovulating? So I waited until 2DPO which seemed more common.

Annny27 · 05/08/2020 09:36

@orangeloo I am maybe 2/3 dpo

I waited untill my cm changed from stretchy to creamy which indicates ovulation as I wanted to make sure! Because I have ewcm up untill 2dpo sometimes

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 05/08/2020 16:36

Hi everyone

Im currently 9dpo. Trying to think when I should test. AF is due Sunday or Monday. I decided not to wait for a period after my miscarriage and just decided to try again once my hcg blood test was low enough.

For the past couple of days I have felt really nauseous in the morning. I do actually feel pregnant again but I can’t get excited as it could be another miscarriage.

I finally managed to get hold of the gynaecologist who was supposed to be doing my extra fertility tests. He told me that as I have managed to get pregnant twice then I don’t need the extra tests. He was really nice and I said that I wanted a referral for IVF. He said he would give it me.

We agreed that we would keep trying for a few more months but once I feel ready for IVF I can phone him up and he will write the referral for me.

I’ve started back at work this week after 3 months of furlough. It’s really hard as half of my team have been made redundant. I’m lucky to have a job though.
