@Annny27 will wait to test until AF is late I think.

LOL at anyone saying the TV wand is like a tampon!! No it's not!

My first early scan when I found out about my miscarriage, they were quite rough with it actually so I was dreading the next scan a week later. But that technician was much gentler thank heavens. Not nice.

Thank you @Lozzlepop but sorry about your job. Weddings are just eye-watering aren't they. We tried to keep ours really small and modest - not easy with a huge extended family like mine. But it still ended up in the region of 11K (honeymoon included).

Lotusflower11 · 15/07/2020 17:39

@Annny27 yes, indeed, just a finger prick, unless u r going for something very extensive
@Lozzlepop I suppose that’s why..there are just so many things that can go wrong! I wish there was one test for all..
My AMH is low, 9.3 @29 years old..obvious sent me into frenzy!but Dr wasn’t bothered, as current number of follicles on ultrasound is ok&it needs to be read in combination with FSH.this is more important before IVF too as helps to determine how much to stimulate the ovaries..would have been more of an issue if I left this late..I suppose we are on this journey now anyway, so cant turn back time and start sooner!☺️

Kiza · 16/07/2020 15:55

@Narwhal88 @Annny27 I bet there's so many more ladies with vaginismus as it's something not really talked about. I've tried propanalol (made no difference) and Valium (relaxed the vaginal muscle but didn't stop me panicking) and hypnotherapy (empowered me to be able to say 'stop let's try again' when I need to and not feel embarrassed by saying that and taking an element of control of internal exams).
If they don't offer me sedation for embryo transfer I'm going to try promethazine (helps that I work in NHS mental health as lots of Psychatrists to get advice from) but I need to practice with dosage first.

@timswifey it's like when Joey from friends is talking to Phoebe when she eats meat when pregnant.. if you going to do it- do it right!! 😆

The wand is like a large tampon?!?! Who are these people kidding?! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@Lozzlepop that's awful news about your job, especially on top of everything else! I didn't even know metal speculums still existed- they are from the dark ages!

Lottiepink · 17/07/2020 09:59

Morning everyone,

Sorry I've been quiet had a lot going on, think that's why ovulation was delayed, ovulated on cd24, and af arrived earlier at 10dpo

Hoping this cycle goes more to plan 🙈 on cd 7 now so ready for the fun part 😂😂

We have our appointment next month, and my TV scan, strangely looking forward to it 😂

@Lozzlepop so sorry about your job, that's so rubbish, even worse when you booked and paid for the wedding, however, least it's all set! You may have had second thoughts over booking it otherwise.. will you look for another job or stay with your current employer?

@Annny27 how are you doing? Has the spotting started? Will you test or just wait for af?

@timswifey ohhh wow, really hope this is your month 🤞🏻

@Narwhal88 hate them swabs, makes you feel like you need to explain to someone that you know you definitely don't have chlamydia 🙈

Thank god it's Friday!!

Lozzlepop · 17/07/2020 15:24

Happy Friday!!

@Annny27 oh thats really good, ours is coming in over that and we probably wont be having a honeymoon at this rate! We have fairly small families but a lot of friends but trying to keep it to under 100!

@Lotusflower11 that would be great, I wish it was that easy!

@Kiza thank you, its been a rollercoaster 18 months for sure! Haha believe me they deffo still exist, although they should belong in the dark ages- the plastic speculum at the doctor on Monday was much less forceful lol!

@Lottiepink thanks lovely, we wouldn't have had second thoughts just with everything thats been going on we would have struggled to secure a different date next year. I will go back for now and look for something closer to home.

@timswifey how are you doing? are you testing this weekend?

timswifey · 17/07/2020 16:17

@Lozzlepop hi I'm doing ok thanks. 11dpo today. Not feeling anything crazy so hopefully AF stays away and I can test in a few days.

timswifey · 18/07/2020 07:18

12dpo. Temp still elevated, here's this month's graph.

The app is saying AF is due tomorrow but my temperature should have dropped shouldn't it?

Hi all - please can I join? I'm new to MN. My next cycle we plan to start TTC, although I have sometimes long and often irregular cycles and after some blood work have been advised we may find conceiving tricky, so am nervous. Been using OPKs for a while now.

Just waiting on AF so that once that's over we can start doing the baby dance. Typical - my last 3 cycles have all been 33 days long, so was geared up for AF to arrive then. But I'm currently on CD38 with no sign of period. Want it to hurry up and arrive so we can start ttc!

Wishing you all the best!

Kiza · 18/07/2020 09:28

@timswifey graph is looking promising, last cycle my temp dropped the morning of AF rather than the day before. For some women I think it can take a day or two as it depend if you have a sharp increase in progesterone or slow that cycle.
Fingers crossed for you though! 🤞🏼

@annahannah welcome to the group, there's a quite a few of us here that have been told we have some minor issues which may make conceiving tricky so feel free to ask anything.

@Lottiepink you and I are cycle buddies this time round, cd8 today 😊 sending ourselves positive vibes!

Off to Accupuncture this afternoon and just chilling at home this weekend.

XjustagirlX · 18/07/2020 10:20

My blood tests confirmed it was a miscarriage. I’m going back to the hospital today for a blood test to check I’m now not pregnant but I did a digital test a few days ago and it said not pregnant.

I spoke to my hospital and I’m trying to get my extra fertility tests rescheduled after covid. I also had a call this morning with a private clinic to get some info on private tests and ivf. And I spoke to my gp and they confirmed that they would refer me to the private clinic for nhs funding for ivf (only after I have had the additional fertility tests).

We are TTC again this month and had a high ovulation reading this morning so getting back on it. I’m not waiting for a period before we start trying again as I couldn’t find any medical reason not to try straight away after miscarriage except the doctors like a period for dating purposes.

Fingers crossed it’s third time lucky for us.

timswifey · 18/07/2020 17:18

Welcome @annahannah yes I'm sure our bodies just like to troll us sometimes! We definitely learn patience on this journey.

Thanks @Kiza will keep fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed for you @XjustagirlX our time will come xx

PinkPlantCase · 19/07/2020 00:34

Hi all I’m looking to start TTC at the end of August.

I started coming off some medication I take to control pain for some damaged nerves in my back a week ago. It’ll take till the end of August till we’re safe to TTC.

I just want to join in with the TTC talk as I’m so excited 😂 Finally stopped taking my pill on Thursday as well. I was on a really low dose mini pill so hoping cycle will return to normal fast enough for us to hit the ground running in August/September.

I’m a bit apprehensive to see what life is like without they pain medication. It reduces the pain to a level that I can manage with day to day. So could be a bit of a bumpy ride.

Kiza · 19/07/2020 10:04

Grrrr cd9 =temp drop and peak OPK= once again my body is trying to ovulate too early! I know that it's too early for a good quality mature egg to be released (esp at my age). Maybe it will be the same as last month where I ovulate again later in the month. Just frustrating this is now happening when I used to have a textbook cycle. Do you think my age is playing a part in this (will be 40 in a couple of months)?

@XjustagirlX so it wasn't en ectopic? It's good that you are now on track for some tests/investigations and really great that you're allowed to go to a private clinic for NHS funded- I didn't even know that was an option!

@timswifey how are you today?
@PinkPlantCase welcome to the group.

timswifey · 19/07/2020 11:41

Welcome @PinkPlantCase keep us updated how you are getting on.

@Kiza good that you are tracking all this, I have no idea why ovulation would happen so early... has your doctor had anything to say about it?

I'm ok - temp dropped a bit today (13 dpo) but no AF yet so am hoping she stays away. I've had a few flutterings but nothing to be able to say for definite.

Lozzlepop · 19/07/2020 11:54

Morning all,

Well I am dying today- climbed my first Munro yesterday and my legs are killing me lol!

@timswifey I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻I dont temp so cant offer any insight unfortunately.

@annahannah @PinkPlantCase welcome ☺️

@XjustagirlX so sorry to hear it was a MC. Out of interest is the referral for IVF based on them finding something from your tests? We have had the 4 MC now and all of my tests have been fine and have basically been told thats it?! 🤷🏽‍♀️

Annny27 · 19/07/2020 12:01

Happy Sunday all!

My period arrived today at 16dpo - so a wonderfully long LP so I can stop stressing about that now! And no real spotting untill 14dpo so an improvement! Onwards and upwards to month 14 and cycle 8 since our miscarriage

@timswifey symptoms sound promissing! Temp drop today doesn't mean anything as it might go back up tomorrow :D let us know!

@kiza it might just be that its gearing yp but won't actually ovulate till later like last month! I dont think its your age as I am 28 and get randomly timed ovulstion too :p

@Lozzlepop sounds like you had a busy weekend then!

@XjustagirlX sorry about your 2nd miscarriage :( its really tough! Thats promissing that the nhs are referring you. I can't be referred for tests untill November annoyingly when it is 12 months after ku miscarriage...

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 19/07/2020 12:30

@Kiza ye I spoke to my gp and they said they would refer me for ivf (once the additional tests are done) but I can chose a private clinic. I had the ectopic in march and then the miscarriage in July.

@Lozzlepop the gp said the referral is for ivf providing a gynaecologist confirms that it’s appropriate following the additional tests. He implied it wouldn’t be a problem to get a referral When I spoke to the lady at the private clinic she said that usually they advise ivf if there is no other obvious tests or treatment appropriate. So have you been told that they can’t help you? Can you specifically ask your gp for ivf?

@Annny27 it’s weird how the help can vary between places and gps. I told my gp about the miscarriage but he didn’t say I had to wait a year.

Kiza · 19/07/2020 13:46

@XjustagirlX I agree with you that advice/treatment/referrals seem to vary massively depending upon where you are in the country. Hopefully the IVF referral won't be too long for you.

@timswifey the frustrating thing is we have now been discharged from our fertility consultant as they have referred us for IVF and the changes in my cycle have been over the last 5 months since we have been discharged. I tried phoning and they said there is nothing further they can do unless our GP refers us back to them which they won't do apparently as we are now under IVF care 🤦🏼‍♀️
Hopefully a slight temp drop is nothing and this could still be a positive outcome for you. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Lozzlepop have they discussed potential IVF for you as one of the threads I'm on a few women who have had recoccuring MC have been prescribed medication during the TWW and beyond (if they get a BFP from ivf).

@Annny27 yeah that's what I think as no ewcm which I usually always get, just bizarre this is the 2nd month after 2 months of majorly delayed O. Great news that you had no early spotting this month and hopefully that continues. Have you changed anything to make that happen do you think?

Annny27 · 20/07/2020 07:51

@kiza no i did nothing differently this month which is annoying haha! Wish I took something so that I could replicate it again for the next month ;p I get an LH surge before my period so perhaps this is a similar thing for you just a random surge

@XjustagirlX perhaps its because we were only trying for 4 months before our miscarriage, not sure! We are having some private tests this month anyway to start the ball rolling.

OP posts:
Lozzlepop · 20/07/2020 08:40

@XjustagirlX I'm not sure, I am guessing maybe they haven't suggested it for a reason- like they know we wouldn't qualify?!

@Kiza nope they have basically said thats it...the only suggestion was they could prescribe progesterone pessaries if I was to get pregnant again but no evidence that they work?!

SoSpooky · 20/07/2020 09:05

I would love to join :) 6 months into our first TTC journey but feels like 6 years! 💜

timswifey · 20/07/2020 10:14

@Annny27 I'm 14 dpo now - no sign of AF and temp was back up a bit today yay!

Natural Cycles is suggesting I wait til Thursday (!!) to test. Trying not to get excited but AF was due yesterday and I'm normally very regular.

@Kiza I see. What happens next in your IVF care?

Welcome @SoSpooky I know it feels like everything takes forever doesn't it. We started trying last October and I got pregnant at the new year, only to miscarry at 9 weeks in late feb. Add lockdown into the mix and this year has been crazy!

SoSpooky · 20/07/2020 10:23

Thank you! We waited so long to even begin trying that it feels like forever. So sorry to hear about your loss it has definitely been an... eventful year for us all.

Lozzlepop · 20/07/2020 10:41

@timswifey are you going to hold off until Thursday? All sounding very positive ☺️

Welcome @SoSpooky tell me about it this last year has been an absolute rollercoaster for us before Covid-19 🙈
