Hello, looking for ladies with a similar cycle to mine, to discuss symptoms and get through the dreaded tww!

Thanks @Rotagilla it was heartbreaking but luckily caught early enough.

We have a 2 year old DD and hoping it doesn't take too long to conceive again... Let the symptom spotting begin!

LeopardLover · 05/06/2020 20:51

Hi gang! This is my first post after lurking for a while. Wink

I've been trying to get my head around all the acronyms and educating myself - who knew there was so much to TTC!

I'm 34, and DH is 35. Apparently that's old (according to some other posters 🤣), but we're TTC #1 and on our first cycle. We're both pretty fit, eat well, and have been taking supplements for months. We decided to wait because of Corona, but we're absolutely ready to start now as we know beautiful babies don't happen overnight. AF is due on 18th. This month we've just been taking it easy, I'm not really sure when I ovulate so we've been going with the flow. I've ordered the Clear Blue Connected Ovulation Test for next month so we can try and be a bit more accurate with our DTD timings Wink.

With so many threads on the go, this seemed the best suited to me. I'm really loving the positivity and support I've seen - what a lovely bunch we have on here. Star Looking forward to learning from you all, and sending virtual love to every one of you.

Bumblebei · 05/06/2020 21:23

@Rotagilla I get ov pains each month, sometimes extremely painful sharp stabbing and pressure on one side other months it’s not so bad. I tend to go on these pains to judge when ovulating. Even with two children I feel like I’m new to all this as was over 10 years ago now lol still trying to learn all the lingo

Bumblebei · 05/06/2020 21:30

@LeopardLover 👋🏽 We were the same with the virus but think it’s going to be around for a long while and we don’t feel times on our side as I’m 32 and DP is 43 and just never know how long it may take

Vix2007 · 05/06/2020 23:20

@Rotagilla I know I keep saying I'm not going to look for anything or check anything, then I'll say to my hubby " oh like that's weird look how veiny my arms are', ' why did I just do one hiccup? I only ever do that when im pregnant!' Knowing full well that even if I was, I wouldn't have any symptoms yetHmm. This baby making does strange things to us doesn't it.

Tigger1987 · 06/06/2020 09:06

Morning everyone! 👋
@Rotagilla I have googled sore teeth before! It is so hard isn't it not to symptom spot and over analyse.

@LeopardLover @Bumblebei We are exactly the same with the virus. The actual plan was to go on a big easter holiday and then start trying for a second. Then lockdown happened and we decided the other month that it wasn't worth waiting as it is hard to know if/how long it will take to fall pregnant.

Irrational thought of the day - so I have been running for about a year (not fast more of a slow jog). I went for my usual long weekend run today and then started panicking that perhaps I shouldn't have done due to blood pressure etc 🙈

Babyyno2 · 06/06/2020 09:11

How is everyone feeling? My app is saying 5DPO - not feeling any different yet but probably to early to do spotting signs! When are most people going to start testing? And what would you use first to test?

Rotagilla · 06/06/2020 09:20

Morning ladies,

@BronzeSilverGold13 I just know I won't be able to wait until af is due.
Last month I was convinced, I had all the symptoms.
Was really disappointed when I wasnt so trying so hard to be 'what will be, will be'

@whambam89 I'm glad it was caught early for you. And yes should have called this thread the 'crazy symptom spotting thread'

Hello @LeopardLover welcome!
So glad you feel this way, I tried to join a few other threads and was just ignored so started my own. Definitely a lovely bunch on here to share the journey. So excited that we are pretty much all in the same week!

@Bumblebei I've never had ovulation pains before so I'm hoping my pain the other day was implantation! I've obviously googled it to death.

@Vix2007 that's so me too! Today I woke up with aching wrists and my partner said 'is that a sign?!'
It's nice being so in tune but also easy to get obsessive 😂

@Tigger1987 I'm just glad we all
Have each other to obsessively spot with 😂

Panicking today as I googled implantation cramping and it said not to take ibuprofen as it can affect implantation. I've been on antibiotics and have taken painkillers the last few weeks.... worried now there was too much in my system and this month might not be the month 🙁 should wait until I'm 100% well.

Rotagilla · 06/06/2020 09:23

@Babyyno2 I was googling this morning the earliest symptoms and some people feel things 5dpo.
Honestly the tww is the hardest....
I will use IC's and then if I get a result will confirm it with my expensive one!

OP posts:
Babyyno2 · 06/06/2020 09:27

@Rotagilla ohhh really? That's exciting. I think I think to much into it all the time and my brain tells me things I want to hear 😂 if only we could find out if it was a positive result as soon as done the deed haha

kirinm · 06/06/2020 09:49

Can I join too? I'm trying for number 3. I have a 24 year old and a 21 month old - big gap! I'm 42 so pretty old to be trying. I guess we've been trying for the last 5 months but being more specific with dates etc the last 3 months.

I'm due on 15th and have a 26 day cycle. Few wrecked today but that is because my DD was up at 4am for the day. Having very mild cramps but I made a note of my 'symptoms' a few months ago and pretty sure that's standard for me.

kirinm · 06/06/2020 09:51

I'm not going to lie, I did a test yesterday 🤪. I knew it would be negative but last month I was getting shadows on the cheap strip tests and wanted to see if I got them again. It was obvs a stark white bfn!

BronzeSilverGold13 · 06/06/2020 10:55

Morning @Rotagilla I know it's going to be so tough for me to wait but I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing again too, I swear I had every symptom last money but clearly not, I'm trying to be more like you "if it happens, it happens. it's only the second cycle since nexplanon was taken out so I highly doubt anything's happened this month but a girl can dream 😊

whambam89 · 06/06/2020 11:13

@Rotagilla oh no I've been taking ibuprofen too for toothache 😫 hopefully was out of your system in time

LeopardLover · 06/06/2020 11:14

Morning team!

@Bumblebei @Tigger1987 It was all a bit unknown in the beginning re: COVID, but I'm glad everyone feels ready now - we really don't know how long it'll take to get that BFP so there really is no time like the present! 😊

Oh I feel you and I can relate, I was doing a HIIT session yesterday and then stopped halfway through to Google whether or not ab exercises are a good idea... The concensus was it's all good! Phew. 😅

@Rotagilla Thank you! There's so much noise on the forum, it's certainly easy to get lost, and threads just disappear! Glad to have found you all and it is very exciting! 😊

I never knew that about Ibruprofen. Fingers crossed it won't make a difference, I'm sure lots of women have fallen pregnant while taking pain killers. 🙏🏻

@kirinm Welcome! 😊 A friend of a friend had beautiful twins last year at 46, conceived naturally. Fingers crossed it's good news this month! I should probably start taking a note of symptoms myself...😅

Rotagilla · 06/06/2020 11:27

Welcome @kirinm I wish I'd tracked my symptoms and knew what was typical rather than obsess over them each month 😂
I stopped taking the pill after taking it for about 8 years so not exactly in tune with all my normal symptoms.

Yes I'm sure you are right @whambam89 and I'm sure it's one of a million things you shouldn't do 😂

Well this morning my partner thinks I'm really grouchy....probably am a bit.
I ate a cheese muffin instead of a plain one and couldn't stomach it.
Then tried a yogurt and it made me retch.
All very unlike me....
Hope it's an early pregnancy symptom and not that I'm coming down with anything.

Oh god, I’m symptom spotting 😩

Get ready for TMI.

My CM is different, it’s very white, & thick at 4/5dpo

I of course googled, and some websites have told me that it could mean early pregnancy, then some have said it does that if you haven’t got pregnant.

I’m sure I’m usually still a bit thin and liquidy at this stage of my cycle, but I’m not quite sure.

Also found out last night I can’t eat Brie 😩 I’ve only just started loving it too, have the tiniest slither in the fridge. It’s usually my after work snack to get me through until oh is back from work.

I think I’m out, but this is the first slither of hope I’ve got, which isn’t good.

mm26 · 06/06/2020 11:53

Hi Everyone,
I think I'm due AF around the 16th so hope it's ok to join! This is my 2nd cycle TTC and I've already been driving myself symptom spotting, which I know is mad. I think I'm around 6DPO possibly, but I'm not 100% sure as I am rubbish at reading the LH test sticks.
I've felt awful the past 3 days if I'm being honest! I was woken up 3 days ago with super painful cramping and have had mild cramping/pressure ever since, with some lower back pain. I've got a stuffy nose, been so tired (like I'm napping every afternoon for like an hour or so) and had zero appetite - not even for chocolate which is weird for me. This morning I woke up and sorry if TMI but was literally gagging at the smell of my armpits even after a shower!

I know 6DPO is waaaay early for symptoms, but as I've said, I'm not sure exactly when I ovulated so I could be further on. (Wishful thinking maybe! ) Has anyone experienced anything like this so far?

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 06/06/2020 12:11

How many days before AF arrives can you reasonably test?

kirinm · 06/06/2020 12:15

@mm26 I'm 6dpo and I've started with a sore throat and stuffy nose. Sleep was pretty poor last night though so don't know if that has contributed. I am pretty sure I got cold symptoms when I was pregnant with my DD but can't remember how early that started.

mm26 · 06/06/2020 12:22

@kirinm I feel like it's mad to be symptom spotting so early, but this is genuinely all so abnormal for me that it's hard not to notice it. I'm never usually fatigued, which is the strangest one! I'm new to all this TTC but I think that's making me more anxious to spot things and for wishful thinking.

Babyyno2 · 06/06/2020 12:24

I'm 5DPO and I've started having on and off cramps lower in my stomach. Not sure if I'm over thinking it, it could be anything 🤷‍♀️ anyone else had this?
Kind of feels like period pains but in a different place and more shooting pain?

Tigger1987 · 06/06/2020 12:34

Welcome @kirinm and @mm26. 🙂

I never knew about the ibruprofen and implantation. But then I think how would they ever test to see how accurate that theory is. Please don't worry @Rotagilla.

@LeopardLover
Oh well done on the HIIT session. 💪I read somewhere that exercise wise that as long your body is used to doing that form of exercise that is fine in early pregnancy. Reassuring to hear that ab exercises are all ok.

Love all the symptom spotting!
@Sansa87 that sounds promising. 🤞 I never realised how much cm changes in a cycle until trying to conceive.

@mm26 Sorry to hear you have been feeling awful the last few days. I remember gagging in the shower when I was pregnant with my son, I think it is to do with the heat but I think I was about 4 weeks then. I have heard that 6DPO isn't too early as implantation can happen then. I really hope all those signs are positive ones. 🙂

I don't have any symptoms really, just odd taste but I got that last cycle about this time!

kirinm · 06/06/2020 13:06

@tigger I had a horrible taste in my mouth for a day or two after ovulation. It is so disgusting and nothing gets rid of it. I also had it when I was pregnant and had it for weeks. I endlessly chewed mint gum to try and disguise it.

I don't have it now, it went after a couple of days but it must be a hormone thing.

Karanciri · 06/06/2020 13:57

Hi all,

AF is due for me on the 18th so can I join? I am now on cycle 5, I'm 31 and my partner is 34, trying for our first. I really thought I was pregnant last month :(. I am only 3/4DPO so there shouldn't be any symptoms yet but I am feeling a sharp pain in my left side and had back ache this morning so who knows!

What apps do you all use? I am on Flo but I'm not sure about it.

Fingers crossed this is everyone's month!
