Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 19/05/2020 15:36

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@Mumlili9 Sod's law will mean the chances are much higher precisely when you don't want them to be. I've read on MN but not actually tried contraceptive sponges, which apparently can't be felt by either person.
I do hope the consultant didn't actually say that to you? I can't imagine many would find comfort in those words. Have they at least suggested any options for assistance to boost chances, or is it a case of "you're alive, job done" ☹️?x

Mumlili9 · 23/08/2020 14:29

@Kiki275 exactly that I'm alive job done.

Spending today primping for tomorrow now, hair, lashes and nails. Taking up my new trousers cos I'm short and making my lunch for tomorrow. So im sorted for the morning

BunnyLovesBananas · 23/08/2020 20:55

What a stupid thing for someone to say to you @Mumlili9 I hope your first day at work tomorrow goes well and at the very least gives you something positive to focus on

Kiki275 · 23/08/2020 22:00

@Mumlili9 Wow! That's awful support. I appreciate that their main focus is you but in the process a major factor in life has been taken away.
Hope you have a lovely first day tomorrow xx

Semele5069 · 24/08/2020 09:29

I had my 21 day bloods done this morning, so feels like some progress is being made. I'm trying not to get so hung up on the TWW this time but I always do as the end comes closer!

@AliceinBunnyland one of my bunnies is ill at the minute and that's worrying me. He's still eating so I'm hoping I can just nurse him through as I know what it is (he has a chronic health issue anyway and we've caught this flare up early). Just worried as I'm away over the weekend and my partner is great at looking after them if he has clear instructions but doesn't know them as well as I do so doesn't pick up on the same signs.

Sakura54 · 25/08/2020 08:12

Never spoken to you before but thank you @Kiki275 @KerryW87 yes slightly reassured as at my last 12 week scan my MMC was discovered, but it's still early days.

BunnyLovesBananas · 25/08/2020 08:51

@Semele5069 Aww you have a bunny too? What sort is he? I hope he's okay. My DH is similar. He knows a lot about the rabbits as we had two for 4 years (but it was one of them who sadly died recently) and now we have two more. He knows what to feed them and that sort of thing but I'm not sure he could handle them and pick them up if he needed to. Can you get him to send you short videos when he's feeding them or something like that? It might set hour mind at ease if nothing else. We were both away for a night at the weekend and his friend fed them but I was worrying all weekend just because I wasn't with them! (I have NC BTW) Nothing has brought me joy recently like my bunnies have

In other news, AF is due in a day or two. I don't know whether I'm feeling hopeful but the strange thing is I didn't even realise where I was in my cycle until I looked ar Ovia! If you'd asked me, I'd have thought AF was due in about a week so I think it's a good thing I haven't obsessed about the 2WW!

I hope everyone else is ok

How are you? @KerryW87 @VenusStarr?

How was your first day @Mumlili9?

KerryW87 · 25/08/2020 12:47

@Sakura54 You're so welcome and I'm so pleased everything is going well, here's hoping the stress begins to ease as the weeks progress, lovely to hear from you! ❤️

@BunnyLovesBananas Oh, that's great you've went through most of the TWW unaware! Definitely the longest two weeks normally haha, so thats great :) Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

@Mumlili9 How has the new job been?

I'm ok, thanks for asking :) Had my two days leave from work after the bad day on Thursday and feeling much better. Turns out the "mid-cycle bleed" was infact my first period after labour so I'm now on my first (hopefully) normal cycle 🤞

Been keeping my mind off things with...wait for it...skateboarding 😂🙈 My 10 year old and my partner took it up over lockdown, and they gave me a nudge to try it last week. I am NOT great at it but it's actually been lovely to have something that takes my mind off the awful past month and off of TTC for a few hours in the day! Although, secretly hoping that because I'm enjoying it so much, Sod's law will kick in and give us a BFP first month since it's definitely not a pregnancy-appropriate activity...can only hope? 😂🤞 xx

Mumlili9 · 25/08/2020 12:49

@BunnyLovesBananas honestly awful ,I'm not sure im the right person for this job at all.

Kiki275 · 25/08/2020 13:11

@Mumlili9 oh no!!! Was it a lot more hands on/ violent than you anticipated? Are there any other options available work wise?x

BunnyLovesBananas · 25/08/2020 14:03

@KerryW87 Skateboarding sounds fun though I'm not very coordinated! It's frustrating not knowing what your cycle is doing but good you have a distraction x

@Mumlili9 I'm sorry to hear that. It is very early days so I hope it gets better if you plan to stay for a while x

KerryW87 · 25/08/2020 14:23

@BunnyLovesBananas Neither am I! My sister in law and I have been practising whenever we can and it's been so good to have a distraction. Although...my skint elbows, knee and ankle might say otherwise 😂

I've just started bleeding again two days after my period stopped so it is getting really frustrating :( Just hope it starts to settle.

How's your week going? xx

BunnyLovesBananas · 25/08/2020 15:11

@KerryW87 That's annoying. I know it is early days for you and I hope it settles soon. We are so sensitive to everything when pregnant / after pregnancy or TTC x

I'm okay, thanks. Now I know where I am in my cycle I am starting to think about it. I'm not really hopeful I but I know there's a chance.

This month it's a year since my MC and 18 months since we lost our DD so that's a bit crap but I'm trying not to think about it.

Work is a great distraction for me, as are our bunnies! 💗

KerryW87 · 26/08/2020 07:53

I know, I really need to try and stop trying to make sense of every bleed or symptom and let time pass and hopefully things normalise...easier said than done, haha but I need to try 🙈

Oh, I'm so sorry :( This month must be a difficult one for you ❤️ You're right, though...there's always a chance and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I'm glad work is a distraction, I find that too. Love hearing about the bunnies also! 💕

KerryW87 · 26/08/2020 07:54

@BunnyLovesBananas Terrible at replying without tagging, sorry! 😂

BunnyLovesBananas · 26/08/2020 10:56

Dont worry @KerryW87 Yeah it's tough but I'm trying not to think about it, though the fact a year has now passed makes me feel like it's not going to happen for us!

The bunnies are great. Our 4 year old French lop has started stamping his foot when he wants something or if I'm giving the girls attention. I'm being careful to make sure he gets lots of attention but it is quite funny Grin

BunnyLovesBananas · 28/08/2020 13:55

Period is a day late. I usually get a couple of days' spotting and haven't got that yet.

Took a One Step test today and of course it's a BFN.

I have a sharp pain on my lower left side. Not sure what thats about.

Esssa · 29/08/2020 06:33

Oh @BunnyLovesBananas that's rubbish, still chance it could change but I know you won't be getting your hopes up. I'll do a bit of hoping for you. Love the stamping bunny!

@Mumlili9 I hope you are settling into the job a bit better after your awful first day.

Had my NHS scan yesterday and everything looks good so I now feel a bit more like there might be a chance of a baby at the end of all this. Thank you to all of you who propped me up when I was catastrophising a few weeks ago. It really did help. Might feel brave enough to post on the pregnancy after loss posts now. Never believed I would stay there before so didn't feel like I should. Good luck with everything and fingers crossed you find your way to those threads too.

Kiki275 · 29/08/2020 09:50

@Esssa that's really good news! I'm so pleased It's only natural to catastrophise, don't beat your self up about it x

@Mumlili9 hope you're settling into your role too x

@BunnyLovesBananas have your cycles settled down since your loss? Keeping fingers crossed for you x

@KerryW87 skateboarding sounds like fun!! Hope your cycles settle down too x

@Hopefulmummie @Sakura54 @Semele5069 @VenusStarr @AliceinBunnyland checking with you all. Hope you're all okay? Apologies if I've missed anyone.

I'm nearing the end of the TWW. Not really noticed any symptoms so not got high hopes this month. Plenty on to distract me until then. Flo says I'm due on Wednesday x

KerryW87 · 29/08/2020 09:59

@Kiki275 It's been great fun, so good for me mentally too to be out of the house and outdoors having fun :)

Ah I'm glad you've got things to keep you distracted! And you never know, I had no symptoms before I fell pregnant last time. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🤞

We're on our way now to our wee boy's service, been a long wait for it so it feels right that it's happening now. Sending love to everyone and hope everyone has a good weekend ❤️ xx

Hopefulmummie · 29/08/2020 10:04

@Kiki275 hey thanks been checking up. Sorry I've been so bad at writing on this I've been so busy with work last 2 weeks. We done smep during the week and I think ovulation was yesterday so fingers crossed it happens. I just don't know if I have the energy to go through the trying all again. I think it's worse when you've experienced a loss as you know what could've been. I must have forgot to unsubscribe to a pregnancy email and got one this morning for an 18 week update :(

How are u and everyone else?

BunnyLovesBananas · 29/08/2020 10:09

Thanks for asking after me @Katie1109

Fingers crossed for you fingers🤞 A

@KerryW87 I hope today goes as well as it can and gives you some closure 💙 xx

Mumlili9 · 29/08/2020 18:50

Sorry I've been awol ladies I've been super busy doing my physical intervention and restraint training, which I passed. Im feeling a lot more confident about my new job

Semele5069 · 31/08/2020 20:36

BFP this morning!!! Typical just when I have another blood test booked for tomorrow, thinking I'd be between days 2-5 of my cycle. Not complaining though!

Just feeling very nervous about this one after my 2 previous miscarriages. I'm already expecting to see blood every time I go to the toilet 😐
