Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Please join on this journey with me, so we can cheer each other up, share advice and information etc..

Good luck to all. FlowersSmile

I see a lot of you are tracking ovulation- When I was ttc previously as it took such a long time I tried every single thing you could think of and it consumed my life. Trying so hard not to do that this time so I’m taking folic acid and some b vitamins for hormonal balance that I take anyway and we dtd pretty regularly anyway so I’m just trying my best to go with the flow.... let’s see how long that lasts Grin

MrsTtobe · 19/05/2020 10:20

@Loladoodle aww that's a lovely positive outcome after miscarriage so thank you ❤ x

Lynnysong · 19/05/2020 10:21

I'm at 16dpo it would have showed by now. Temp going up is a strong sign of ovulation so I don't think it would have been later. It's ok.

I've got in contact with a sperm donor near me, I'll contact a few more as well and hopefully get something worked out soon. I'd like to try properly next time.

Just to confess, I'm 45 which is why I'm saving up for a donor egg and IVF. I'll do my research about that soon and ask to be put on a waiting list. Got to get the ball rolling.
Thanks to everyone for their support :)

MrsTtobe · 19/05/2020 10:28

@Lynnysong well hopefully we can all come along on the journey with you. That is if you don't get bfp before then. 😘 Hope you're feeling a little better about everything today x

Loladoodle · 19/05/2020 10:52

@Lynnysong brave journey to take and no point in anyone being judgemental about it as you never know what is around the corner. I was in a long marriage ttc for over 3 years. The marriage ended when my baby was very young so I ended up doing it alone without ever thinking that would happen. What’s to be will be and having a little person to put all my energy and focus on was my saving grace!

OldMaBear · 19/05/2020 11:13

Hi all, just joined and this is my first message.
I'm 40 and TTC our first so feel like a very late starter. We are 5 cycles in with no joy, although I think I had a very early miscarriage two months ago as it was the wrong time and very definitely not a normal bleed. We have tried to DTD every other day but to be honest it hasn't been regular as we're both too tired! Plus he's a morning person and I'm an evening one. At least the lockdown has allowed for lunchtime sessions (TMI?).
Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking folic acid.
I'd also be really grateful if anyone has any tips for hayfever - is there anything I can take?
Thanks all. Looking forward to hearing from people.

MrsTtobe · 19/05/2020 11:21

Welcome @OldMaBear 😘 good luck with your journey. It's tough isn't it. This ttc business really does take over our minds. 😔

Hayfever - yes please share your tips. Mine Is horrific. I dread summer because of it. Cold milk on a cotton pad wiped/ gently pressed on the eyes helps. Weird but it works. Better than any drops ive used. But the trick is to do it before it gets too bad. X

courtrai · 19/05/2020 11:28

Can I join please? I've a 17 and 15 y/o from previous marriage. New partner has always wanted babies but didn't happen for him and ex wife. I was certain my baby making days were over at 41 (nearly 42) but am thinking I could have one last good egg in me. I had mirena in for 6 years+ so wonder if anyone has experience of conceiving after coil removal

Happyhappy37 · 19/05/2020 11:52

@Lynnysong do what makes you happy. No judgement here. My first son's dad is basically a sperm donor ( there is no other way to describe him, that useless piece of waste matter) fingers crossed everything works out well for you. Chin up, stay focused, stay positive. ❤️
@OldMaBear welcome welcome. I hope you get your BFP soon. 🤞🏾
TTC is a full job, we will be rewarded with sleepless nights, messy nappies etc
Also first smile 😊, holding your fingers, cuddling up to you, staring into your eyes, so intensly beautiful, hearing their first cry, first words, seeing them trying to crawl etc.. you will be their world, their rock, their protector etc..
Hold on ladies we are in for an adventure. Just stay positive.

@courtrai welcome. Wishing you and your partner positive energy and lots of baby dust. Surely you have lots of good eggs ready to fertilize 😊
Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏾

@courtrai I had my coil removed in December and my cycle returned to normal pretty quickly which I hope is a good sign. I haven't started using ovulation strips yet but may try them soon. Good luck.

OldMaBear · 19/05/2020 12:07

@Happyhappy37 Thank you! I'm hoping so hard for those messy nappies!

@MrsTtobe Thank you! I will definitely try the milk thing. I have been using Eyebright by Liz Earle but milk sounds much cheaper. I really miss the nasal spray I used to use and asked the pharmacist what I could take while TTC - he gave me some tablets which as soon as I got home and checked the paperwork said do not take if pregnant so that was useless.
I've heard various things such as a teaspoon of really local honey per day helps but haven't been able to source any yet.

Loladoodle · 19/05/2020 12:10

@oldmabear yes local honey is good for it too! I’m struggling as well with the hay fever will have to source some myself 👌

musiceverywhere · 19/05/2020 12:40

Morning all! @Muda congrats! What lovely news to wake up to (under the weather so had a lie in). Take it easy and let it sink in (and if you're like me, buy some v cheap tests as I tested constantly when pg with DD Blush
Welcome to others- @courtrai I had Mirena removed last week on CD2 and it seemed to make my period last a bit longer, but don't know for definite as didn't track my light periods at all while it was in. I've heard you can conceive right after, but I'm using OPK to help keep track as have no idea on my cycle (and there's no chance DH and I can DTD every other day for 3 weeks Grin!)

Muda · 19/05/2020 14:35

Thank you so much for the congratulations,
It’s so nice being able to share to news so early with people.

@loladoodle we were trying properly for 7 months, this month the only thing I did differently was not track my ovulation (although I still saw when my fertile window was on ovia) and I used preseed for the first time.

@musiceverywhere I have done two tests now one Clearblue and one first response and they both are positive. I defo want to buy some cheapies and take more on a daily basis! Instead of googling symptoms now I’m googling what on earth happens next- I literally have no idea what to do!

Loladoodle · 19/05/2020 15:04

@muda I wouldn’t buy cheapies as testing on and on before your first scan doesn’t really show anything other than you are pregnant. For reassurance I did use the clear blue week detector tests each week to see if they went up as they should but again I now see that email only defects hormone levels in lime with pregnancy and can cause more anxiety than reassurance. Best thing would be to wait until you are about 6 weeks and schedule an app with your GP around then or give them a call soon to chat things over as to how things will be proceeding during the pandemic. Hopefully time flies until your scan! Try and relax, take things easy and enjoy 😊

Loladoodle · 19/05/2020 15:05

*only reflects hormone levels
That should say

musiceverywhere · 19/05/2020 15:08

Agree with @Loladoodle that testing lots isn't a good (or reliable) indicator, but for me it was the only thing I could do before any scan would be done and I literally couldn't not and it cost me ££. But of course it isn't an indicator of anything other than rising hormone levels. Hopefully you have more willpower and perspective than I did! Blush

Lynnysong · 19/05/2020 16:07

Well, one sperm donor isn't ready yet and wants to start in six to nine months. He misunderstood me, I send we could try from now for that long.

The other one, I'm not sure if I like how he looks, not bad really but I don't know.
Think I'll email a bunch nearby and see who answers.

No af just now. Since I tested negative I've halved the cream, don't want to come off abruptly. :)

MarieQueenofScots · 19/05/2020 16:10

Lynny do you mind me asking how you’re sourcing sperm donors?

Lynnysong · 19/05/2020 17:56

@MarieQueenofScots It's a website called coparents.co.uk

I sent about 10 messages today. For a month it's £29 but I'm only using it for a month and hopefully I'll find someone and won't have to renew. I think you can get 6 months for £80. If you have any more questions let me know, I'm working this stuff out as I go lol. :)

Chlo2701 · 19/05/2020 18:09

@Lynnysong 🤞🏻 for you & I really hope you find one x

MarieQueenofScots · 19/05/2020 18:35

@Lynnysong

Thank you so much. Fingers crossed for you

claireb707 · 19/05/2020 19:04

Room on the bench for another one?

I'm 40 (nearly 41), partner 39 (nearly 40) and we're about to start cycle 10 😩 I say about to start as I'm currently on cd43, 21 DPO, been spotting since sunday and have had 3 neg preg tests. No idea what's going on as my cycles are normally 30-32 days

I've just had all the blood tests for fertility and they all came back normal, partner is waiting till the clinics open again so he can go and do his bit.

Lynnysong · 19/05/2020 20:31

@claireb707 I think we've got plenty of room, so glad you're here. :) Glad your tests came back normal 👍 FX

21 dpo is a long time to wait, that's so annoying, af hasn't shown up here yet 16dpo, I may have used a little too much progesterone cream, need to dial that back for next time lol
