Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Welcome @Posy1 my ovulation is normally around day 13-14 which I think is normal ish. So after having my static smiley face on the opk today we managed to dtd tonight and will hopefully do it again tomorrow. Not much I know but at least it gives us a small chance this month.

Hi @lucieloos you just need that one sperm to meet that one egg, and the sperm can live for days inside. It's unlikely we'll be dtd that often even once my body sorts itself out and I ovulate, we're too knackered!

@Sleeeeeepy yes I think that's part of our problem too. We have 2 toddlers already and between the two of them at the moment we can be up for the day from 5.30 and then running around after them all day and then it's kind of hard to summon the energy to dtd as well. I think it would be ideal to do it for a week around the fertile period but I just don't think it's going to happen and will have to just make do with timing it around the high and peaks of opk.

@Happyhappy37..ha ha, thanks I think I need it, def have an addiction. Temp fell this morn, so im Def out. Oh well, on to cycle #7.

@lucieloos the month I conceived my daughter, we only managed to DTD 3 times the whole month on day 9, 11 and 13 and I ovulated on day 15. I wouldn't worry too much about trying to DTD as much as possible. As @Sleeeeeepy said, it only takes one sperm.

AF arrived this morning - actually quite relieved because I knew I wasn't pregnant but was so late for my period! At least now we can try again soon. Good luck everyone else! X

@lucieloos We've got an almost 2 year old and a 3.5 year old so same situation! Being on lockdown with them probably isn't helping either 😂

So I think we have done all we can this month. We dtd ever other day leading up to +opk and then three days in a row ending last night. No way can we do it again this evening so I’m really hoping I ov’d yesterday and we aren’t missing it today. I’ve ordered some conceive plus lube for next month to tempt fate (fingers crossed we don’t need it). I’ve noticed my sex drive falling off a cliff even at fertile time when I usually want it so I’m quite dry. Really hoping this isn’t showing me early signs of peri-menopause.

Morning all- A CB digital this morning very rudely snapped 'not pregnant' at me and then went back to bed 😁 -anyway I've since read that it requires 3 times as much HCG (compared to FRER) to pick up an early positive so I'm staying optimistic and ignoring it.
Have some IC coming today but think I will order some more FRER. I've not seen them in any UK shops?

@musiceverywhere on one of the other threads I’m in people are talking abiut the smep plan - where you dtd every other day from cucle day 8, three in a row when you get your peak, a day off then one more for good luck! My other half and I were going to tey it last month (failed miserably because as much as we want a baby we didn’t want dtd to seem like such a transaction lol!) but when I fell pg in Jan this year - it was just the one time (It was over Christmas so there’d been lots of people in the house the whole time and we had no bedroom door so it was one shot only!!) since the mc I haven’t been so lucky - but we have decided to be more chill about dtd this time!! We both got to stressed by trying to do it on certain days lol!! Our minds are a funny thing!! Your way sounded more relaxed for sure!!

Hello everyone, I hope I can join you? I’ve not been on MN for ages, but felt the need for some solidarity.

I’m 41 and TTC the first with my partner, but I already have 4 DCs aged between 4 and 16. He also has 2... AF just arrived so we are starting again soon on what will be our 5th month of trying. Trying to be relaxed as we are already lucky to have our DCs, but it would be lovely to have another together.

Finding it a bit depressing as I conceived 2nd cycle max with the others, but accepting that age is against us. We are definitely not short on DTD, several times a day during the confinement 🤭... will try to read up on the thread.

@musiceverywhere the cb digi are def not too sensitive, did you do another test today?

@mrsttobe I’ve been feeling off for day’s but also proper cranky which suggests af enroute. Lots of crampy feelings too. Boobs aren’t sore they usually would be but who knows what is going. 12dpo and won’t test again until wed when the cheap tests should arrive. Still raging I wasted a digi! That was silly!

@Loladoodle I did some cheapie strips which were BFN but apparently they're the same sensitivity as CB. Have ordered some FRER arriving tomorrow, meanwhile am crossing my legs 😁 and planning a pre-bed test again this evening and will see if anything shows up! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Watching some tv to distract me.
