Hi all,

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

That's what I used to do lol @ForeverHopeful67 but then I found it like a double punch to the gut when Af came so I don't test too early anymore but every person is different. Really hope you get your bfp!!

@33Carr are you testing before the 11th?

Imagine if we all get bfp's that day!! 😬🤩

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 14:12

@notyetamumbuttrying omg that would go down in history as the best day!! 😂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I'm actually going to test the day AF due which is Wednesday 10th (unless I come on between now and then!) was gonna try and wait until Thursday but I don't think I'll be able to if I wake up to no AF again Wednesday! My cycles are always between 29 days and 32 days and it will be day 32 on Wednesday. Xxx

memily · 08/06/2020 14:15

Hi everyone!
I’m just after a bit of advice.

My cycles are pretty much 28 days on the dot (one month I had a 26 day cycle but that was it).
We have been actively TTC (trying to conceive) since March (following an ectopic pregnancy at the end of January) and this month was the first month I used OPKs.

I’m currently CD28 and due on tomorrow (9th) by my normal cycle dates. HOWEVER, I put the positive OPK in the tracking app and because I ovulated around CD17 it has put my cycle this month to 31 days, meaning I would be due on Friday (12th).

I crumbled early and took a pregnancy test this morning and got BFN, but according to my dates I’m only 11 days post ovulation anyway.
I’m getting confused! What dates/cycle do you think I should go by?x

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/06/2020 14:40

It would be you're right @TTCgee!! 😁

I'd go by the opk and therefore app as 12th June. Test again on Thursday with us! Buzzing for Thursday now 🐝

memily · 08/06/2020 14:44

Thanks @notyetamumbuttrying I’ll go with the OPK! I feel a little more optimistic now!

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/06/2020 14:50

Great! @memily I'm 11dpo today too so we're same timing. Imagine if there's loads that get a bfp on the 11th!! We'd have to start a fb group called bfp on the 11th June 😂 so that we can all keep in touch during pregnancy. it's my dads bday that day too so I'm seeing it as a lucky day!

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 14:53

Hi @memily if your cycles have been really regular since your ectopic pregnancy (sorry to hear you've been through this 💔) then I would say it makes sense to go by the norm of 28 days? My apps are forever moving my AF due date around but it always stays pretty consistent for me xxx

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 14:55

@memily oh sorry think I may have misread your first message! didn't see that you'd had an OPK! Yeah it's usually the time between your ovulation and AF that stays the same i think so that would make sense for it to have pushed it back 🥰

memily · 08/06/2020 15:02

@notyetamumbuttrying yeah that would be great! I would definitely see that as a lucky sign!

@TTCgee ah thank you, it’s been a tricky year so far and we fell the first time not even trying so I’m finding it incredibly frustrating that it’s taken longer than one month 😂 ridiculous I know but I’m so impatient! I’m desperate to get some good news. I will definitely stick with the OPK dates then! 🤞🏼 X

MintGreenLife · 08/06/2020 15:10

Has anyone got any tips to put testing out of my mind for the next few days? I'm worrying over/questioning every little twinge I'm getting. I had a couple of instances of twinges in my middle that lasted two days around 4/5 days ago, which I thought could possibly be implantation pains, but in the last hour getting the same again every now and then, still in my middle but slightly to the left this time. Am googling and reading so much and so distracted. Any ideas for how to put it to the back of my mind until I test on Thursday would be much appreciated xx

memily · 08/06/2020 15:19

Hi @MintGreenLife,
It’s so hard isn’t it. I’m such a control freak that I really struggle to keep from testing. I just try not to think about it (easier said than done!).
Last time I used to write down how I was feeling that day, emotionally, symptoms etc. So that it wasn’t filling my head with stuff and I could let it go as if written it down (if that makes any sense!).
That helped me not become too obsessed over it.
I also find that once you’ve taken one test and it’s negative, you just wanna keep taking them, like a slippery slope. So I decided this month I would only test the day before (which I actually happened to get wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️).
You just got to try and ride it out...but I know every day that passes feels like a month!
Good luck!

MintGreenLife · 08/06/2020 15:24

Thanks :) this is my first month and I've already become so tuned into every tiny little niggle etc. That's a good idea re writing down how you're feeling. I may try that. I'm planning on testing two days before AF is due on Thursday and am going to hold on until then, but that doesn't stop me from obsessing over google and mumsnet eek. I'm on CD29 now and I thought it would take me so long to get here, but actually it was fine, it's now that I'm wishing the days away so I can test!

Where are you at in your TTC journey? x

MintGreenLife · 08/06/2020 15:24

@memily message above x

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 15:58

@Sussexbysea just catching up! Hopefully you just don't have enough HCG to be picked up yet 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@MintGreenLife awww it really is hard! I think with it being your first month it's probably even worse! I'd say it does get slightly (veerrrrryyy slightly) easier each month to put it to the back of your mind.

I 100% agree with noting down symptoms/ how you feel! Then I guess just doing anything to not google (put your phone upstairs / read a book / watch TV) just try and give yourself at least a few hours solid break each day! Thursday will come really soon! Xxx

Sussexbysea · 08/06/2020 16:06

@TTCgee fingers crossed but I think AF might be here tonight or tomorrow morning.

How are you doing?

OP posts:
memily · 08/06/2020 16:07

@MintGreenLife well good luck for Thursday! 😊
We decided to stop contraception and casually see how it goes back in December and I fell pregnant straight away, but unfortunately I suffered an ectopic pregnancy and had my right Fallopian tube removed at the end of January at 7 weeks pregnant.
So we gave February a break and I’m now on cycle 3 (officially) of TTC and CD28. I’m so desperate for some good news 🤞🏼 Fingers crossed Thursday is good for us all!x

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 16:33

Keeping everything crossed for your good news @memily you definitely deserve it 💕💕

@Sussexbysea - I really hope not for you! I'm feeling the same to be honest but trying to hold onto hope - in another group I'm in a few women were 100% sure AF was coming with cramps etc and then got BFPs so let's just hope that's us 🙏🏼🤞🏼

I'm looking forward to Wednesday just to draw a line under it one way or the other though! Xx

MintGreenLife · 08/06/2020 16:53

@memily so sorry you said that above didn't you. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone ☺️🤞🏼

@TTCgee did exactly what you said and left my phone upstairs and took a book out into the garden. Going to snuggle up for an hour now and find a good series to start binging before I have to go sort dinner. Thanks so much for your advice 😘 X

Mockingbird0805 · 08/06/2020 16:56

So just been to tesco and very happy to see that all their pregnancy vitamins are on 3 for 2 got about 3 months worth to tide me over 🤣. Getting a call from the doctor on Wednesday as well to sort everything out. DH said it doesn't feel real yet and I don't think it will for him until he sees the scan weeks from now.
How's everyone else doing? I never made it through the TWW once

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 17:00

@MintGreenLife 😘😘😘

MrsLully · 08/06/2020 17:14

So are we all testing around the same time?
We should call it a Test-Fest! Or not.
Probably not Grin

notyetamumbuttrying · 08/06/2020 17:23

Haha I like it @MrsLully! Yeah think pretty much everyone is testing on the 11th 😬

MintGreenLife · 08/06/2020 17:55

I'm in on the test fest 😂

LottieX · 08/06/2020 18:26

Can I join too? I'm due to test on the 11th!

My urge to POAS is so high, think I might be developing some sort of weird addiction!

I'm developing all of these weird symptoms that's probably just AF on her way but I'm 10DPO today Confused

TTCgee · 08/06/2020 18:29

@MrsLully love it 😂😂😂 TestFest 2k20 😂😂

Yesss pretty much around the same time!! I'm on the 10th (unless the witch shows up early!) xxx
