Testing around 11th June

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well! I’m still in my TWW. Haven’t taken anymore tests as I’ve been doing my research over the past few days and the one I took was waaaaay too early! Over the past few days I’m still having cramps and twinges! But I’ve just got out of the bath and my boobs are sooooo veiny! I have honestly never had this before, bright blue massive veins. All of a sudden! What could this be?! AF due in a week or so, so could be that? But I have never looked in the mirror at them and been this shocked 😨 I thought it was the lighting but they look crazy! And I swear I’m getting more and more bloated by the day haha! Xxx

@Sussexbysea I don't think so :-( LH was very low about 5 days ago and only started getting darker 3 days ago up to now? Also I'm only CD17 so I don't think there could be a chance (although I do wish!) haha...

jumped OH again! 😂😂 not that he was complaining to be fair! eeeek feels good to have actually seen a peak line for once! I think every other month before this I could have been missing it thinking the first slightly darker line was my peak! Maybe that's why it's worth investing in the clear blue ones!

@Freddie15VES how are you today? I think the most annoying thing about TTC is that literally everything can be pre-period or early pregnancy signs 😩 I've noticed so much stuff in the last 2 months that I'd never known before, especially if you've been on hormonal contraception for a while your body isn't used to having the normal cycle so it all feels strange. I'm hoping that they are positive signs for you and you get your BFP 🙌🏾 when will you test again? Next week? x

@SmileyT All good this morning, I’m not sleeping very well so feeling really really tired still. I am tempted to do another test today but still feels too early. Guess it wouldn’t hurt! It’s only our first month trying! But then part of me is saying just leave it as long as possible! I’ve never been on contraception, we’ve always just used condoms so my cycles regular and bang on every month! The veiny boobs thing is something I can honestly say I’ve never noticed before, but new things can happen I guess on your AF! Xxx

@33Carr awh sorry to hear you had a negative too 😔 Let's hope today is our day!

@Freddie15VES oh yeah then anything new to you is a good sign 👌🏾 good if you have regular cycles I'd probably wait until the day it's due and then you have a really good chance it will give you an accurate result. What tests are you testing with? xx

@SmileyT I’ve just got some really cheap ones in, so I’ll probably do a few of those if AF doesn’t turn up. See what the deal is! Then I’ve been told clear blue? What would you suggest? Feel nausea this morning and keep getting a twinge in my lower right abdomen and around my belly button which I’ve never had before but AGAIN I could be trying to convince myself it’s happened when it probably hasn’t!! Xxx

@Freddie15VES it’s difficult to know if it’s AF or pregnancy. When are you due? Personally (after months of negatives) I wait for AF. First response are great, clear blue often leave you with line eyes and there’s usually an evap line.

I feel sick during ovulation and around AF. My boobs are usually super sensitive but this cycle, they aren’t. I ovulated earlier this week and my boobs usually stay sore till AF arrives.

Yeah I’ve been reading up and it seems like all the symptoms of AF can be exactly the same leading up to BFP! Very confusing. My app says I am due on 3rd June, so not long to wait now. Yesterday I was adamant I had come on my period, twice I went to check but I was just extremely wet down there (sorry if tmi) I’ve been having the bloating and cramps since day 1 ovulation and DTD. We did it everyday (sometimes twice!) okay great I’ll get some first response ones ordered xxx

@mintgreenlife Have you done another test today? I forgot to bring one into work with me so will have to wait till around 7pm! Still feeling really nauseous with some very mild cramping so I'm hoping this is it!!

@33Carr not yet, am trying to wait until 3/4ish, will let you know if I have any luck ☺️ Oh that's a pain but at least that should give you time to TTD this evening if you do get a positive! Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Surely one of us will get a positive soon 🙈

@33Carr I always feel really sicky and tired about 2 days leading up to when I get my higher LH surge so maybe it's the same for you too! Xx

@TTCgee That's what I'm hoping for! Just wanna get home and POAS hahaha the urge is so real 😭 How are you getting on today?

@33Carr I know that feeling well! Honestly last month some days I was doing 4 a day just in case the surge had magically started in the last 2 hours since I last checked!!

It defo will come tho. I've now had 4 months of seeing them every month but every single time I convince myself it's not going to happen that time. Mine have been from CD16 - CD19 so it's always hard to feel relaxed until you see it but you will!

so I think I'm ovulating today as the LH surge and a few pains today - however, literally nooo CM so that is stressing me out! Buttttt I'm trying to sunbath and just not think about it and DTD regardless! In 3 days I'll be going crazy 😂😂 xx

@33Carr @TTCgee still negative on OKPs 😔 In fact line is even fainter than the last two days, not that it ever got going in the first place. CD18 tomorrow

@MintGreenLife try not to worry! There is every possibility you might just surge in a couple of days! Have you been DTD regularly too?

It could be that you just had a really short surge and missed it apparently some months they're only a few hours long! Xxx

@TTCgee hmm that's really interesting as on CD12 I had watery CM and then really obvious EWCM on CD13 - we DTD both of these days, and otherwise we've just been going for every other day. Do you think it's possible to completely miss the surge and not get any darker lines at all? I always have faint lines that have never got any darker.

@MintGreenLife I mean I'm definitely no expert but I'd definitely say that if you've had the CM that would indicate you've ovulated? After googling for hours I read that lots of women miss it if they tend to have short and sudden LH surges so it could be that?

Also... do you ever check your cervical position as that can indicate too!! If it's high up soft and a bit open then you're probably ovulating! Xxx

@TTCgee thanks, that gives me hope that it could possibly have happened and I just missed it with my OPKs ☺️ I've had a quick read and found an article that does say that surges can happen suddenly and last as little as 12 hours, so testing every 24 hours wouldn't catch it. I did notice a slightly darker line on CD15 so wondering if I may have possibly ovulated on CD14 in the evening and just saw the tail end of it the next day. We DTD on CD12 & 13 too, so probably the ideal days to do so if I did ovulate CD14. If not at least I feel a bit more positive and less stressed as to why I'm not getting positive OPKs ☺️ Thanks for your help xx

@TTCgee also only just started checking cervix position in the last couple of days and it's been low and hard, so also thought that incideated I wasn't going to ovulate any time soon, but would also make sense if I have already ovulated x

Guys how do you check your cervix? And what are you looking for? Thanks in advance (appreciate it might be a bit hard to explain haha) xx

You check by inserting a finger up and feeling for it at the top, obviously make sure your nails are short and hands clean. The cervix sticks out into the vagina, for me it feels like ball and takes up most of the space at the top, although I can get my finger round the sides of it. During your fertile window it's high up and soft (feels like your lips to touch) and also more open. In some women it's so high and soft you can't reach it or it blends in with the walls of the vagina so you can't really feel it. You may be able to feel that it's slightly open too. When out of the fertile window it's lower and harder - meant to feel like the tip of your nose and sometimes tilted and closed. Also during fertile period it's wetter and on very fertile days may have EWCM on. Hope that helps x

@Freddie15VES couldn't tag you before but message above. Also should have said it's easiest to feel when in a squating position, or standing with one leg up on the side of the bath for example x
