Hi ladies 💕

13dpo today and af is imminent as temp dropped to cover line plus a bfn. So who's joining me?
TTC #1
This will be cycle 13 since mmc (Feb 19) but been TTC since June 2018 so a horribly momentous month for me.

Bought some vitamins recommended by it starts with the egg for this month and also male conception tablets for DH. So we shall see 🤞🏼

Lots of luck and baby dust to everyone 🍀🌈💕

@Cocoblue22 I'm intrigued by this CB 'computer' you speak of! Or are you referring to the digital one (purple, low fertility ⭕️, high fertility flashing 🙂, peak fertility static 🙂). I have the purple one but didn't realise it stored ) months of data?! Is that right?
Flashing smiley means it has detected that your oestrogen is increasing, which is usually followed by LH surge in coming days.

Skip86 · 21/05/2020 07:48

@Cocoblue22 this one?

Minster2012 · 21/05/2020 07:59

@Skip86 that’s interesting & yeah could def be to do with cycles, but I haven’t been ovulating for those 10 years as have been on contraception til last may.

@Cocoblue22 the flashing smiles are for the run up to ovulation so is that the eastrogen surge? We get the flashing smiles then a static one for ovulation in the next day or so - I’m now on my 5th day of flashing smiles though & ive only got 2 sticks left 😬

@lucyrp yay for flashing! That’s not great for your friend, she’s the only person I’ve heard of who can’t have anyone in for Labour?

Day 5 of flashing smile & im bored now. I also got really miserable last night 😥no real reason just felt really down

KateColx · 21/05/2020 08:01

@SmileyT thanks lovely! That makes perfect sense now. Only month one of testing and I'm overthinking it all 😂 I'm CD12 today so hopefully it'll make an appearance soon ☺️ x

@Skip86 oh really? How interesting that you even felt like it was CD14 but it was actually later. Did you still feel like you had the same pains etc around CD14 that month? Aw fingers crossed my first month of CB testing is as successful as yours! ☺️ x

@lucyrp yayyy for the flashing smiley!! Fingers crossed everything goes okay for your friend. My best friend is pregnant at the mo, due in Aug, and I do feel for her. It's not the pregnancy you expect to have is it 😔 but as long as they're safe, and I'm sure your friend won't mind as soon as she has her baby there! 🥰 x

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 08:07

@Skip86 I believe the CB one @Cocoblue22 is referring too is this one

Skip86 · 21/05/2020 08:23

Oh wow I've never seen that one!! 😍

Skip86 · 21/05/2020 08:26

@KateColx sorry I should have clarified that the time I ov'd much later than I thought was a few years ago when I conceived my now 2yo. I think I still had all the usual symptoms I thought were ov on about CD14.
I'm using the same CB tests this time (this is first cycle TTC) and had peak on CD16 (again, I thought it would be on about CD14 but was wrong).

Katao · 21/05/2020 08:27

Thanks @Skip86, that's very true.

Cocoblue22 · 21/05/2020 08:31

@lucyrp oooh flashing smiley sounds exciting! And exciting for your friend although it must be awful having to do it alone. I have a friend due to give birth in a few weeks too!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 08:37

@Minster2012 I know she's only young and it's her first so I felt heartbroken for her especially as she was trying to stay at home for the birth! I've just had a facetime witj her and baby now she had a little boy but she lost a lot of blood so mum is allowed to stay with her on the ward at the moment which is good ☺️

Cocoblue22 · 21/05/2020 08:38

@lucyrp @Skip86 yes this is the one! It’s like a little computer it reminds me of those dear diary things that were out in the 90’s!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 08:38

@KateColx I know it's so sad at the moment I really do feel for everyone giving birth at the moment it makes an already scary experience even scarier! Yeah they're both safe and well so that's the main thing ☺️ very proud friend🥰x

MrsDh2019 · 21/05/2020 08:40

Morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well ❤️ Just popping on to say sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here the last few days (just had my first cycle TTC #2 and it was unsuccessful after some faint positives then AF arrived) I understand how this is nothing compared to what some of you have been through but it just really threw me because I caught 1st month with my DS but I suppose I was 22, actively eating healthier and weighed like 8 stone 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I had a feeling it was just luck and it wouldn’t be as easy this time around so just taken a few days to get my head around how you can have so much sex and it not get you pregnant?? Honestly hurts my head when all you’re told growing up is that you can get pregnant at the drop of a hat! But when you TRY it doesn’t work?! 😂 doesn’t help that my DH hates baby-making sex though 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m currently on CD 4 now of this cycle and hoping that because I’ve been on vitamins for a good few weeks now that I will hopefully go in my favour for a chance of catching soon 🤞🏼Baby dust to everyone as always 💖 hope you’re all staying safe and enjoying the sunshine x

Cocoblue22 · 21/05/2020 08:42

You buy the sticks pee on them then stick them
In and it does the rest! So don’t need to bother with other apps to log everything as it does it all for you x

@SmileyT sorry to hear about the MC...got everything crossed for you for next time

@Skip86 thank you! This thread has already been reassuring for me.

I only have the cheap opk tests with the lines....and an app so can imagine they're not going to be in sync!! First time ever tracking ovulation, what do you all recommend or is that ok for now? I am CD7 now but have a short cycle so have been using the opks for practice really and I don't want to miss the peak!! Also, it says on the tests that when you get the surge the best time to DTD is after 24 but before 48 hours? Any advice is welcome, thank you!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:18

@watermelonwizard I use the CB digital tests and it's my first month tracking ovulation and I'm CD12

June Bus - who's on board?
watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 09:24

@lucyrp thank you! I’ve also just read about your friend, that’s so scary! I hope she’s ok. Woohoo to your first flashing smile too! I’m gonna get some of those tests, I prefer the thought of a smile rather than a hard to decipher line! Good luck!

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 09:26

@lucyrp ahhh congrats to your friend! Great news her little bundle is here safely 🥰🥰

I just use the really cheap OPKs from amazon - it's like £7 for 50 or something and they seem to work?

Then on the fermometer app you can upload a pic of your test and it tells you your LH level which is quite cool!

However, that CB monitor thing sounds really good that it does it all for you!!

Hope you're all okay 💕 where is everyone in their cycles atm?

I'm CD12 and due to ovulate on CD17 (26th) then AF due on 9th June xxx

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:30

@watermelonwizard yeah they are both fine and should be allowed home tomorrow so I can't wait to go and look at him through the window!
It's so funny how something so simple can make you smile but seeing the flashing smiley has made my day haha, I was going to buy some IC but thought I'd try these first and they're actually so much easier to read. Slightly expensive but hopefully won't need to use them much and it will be worth it anyway, I would definitely say to buy the pack with 20 sticks as opposed to the 10 sticks if you're not entirely sure when you ovulate as you may run out of them !

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:33

@TTCgee thank you I'm very proud right now, I'm being in undated with pictures already which I'm not going to say no to!🥰

I still log my CB tests on the fermometer app but just do it manually so ⭕️ as low, flashing smiley as high and then static smiley as peak and that's working at the moment but will have to see how it goes.

I'm CD12 today too! Not sure when I should be ovulating but I predicted anywhere between 23rd and 27th! No idea when AF is due as the last cycle was messed up by a CP so all a guessing game really! Xx

SmileyT · 21/05/2020 09:36

@Mococo1 sorry for your loss, hope you get your rainbow soon 🌈 ❤️

@OnNaturesCourse if you put EWCM in on femometer it seems to update ovulation day to that day but it can change if you add other data later, if you have been having regular sex I'm sure you are covered anyway x

@Cocoblue22 I did consider getting the CB monitor but I'm way too cheap 😂

@lucyrp congrats to your friend, glad mum and baby are healthy, where are you based? My friend is 33 weeks and has been told her hubby will be with her but maybe that has changed, she will be gutted as she has said she hasn't noticed any changes since lockdown yet 😩

@MrsDh2019 sorry about the CP, did you speak to your GP? It's definitely no less of a loss than an early MC and it's okay to mourn the loss. Positives are that you know that the sperm met the egg so just keep doing what you were doing and next time it will hopefully be a sticky bean ❤️

@watermelonwizard how often are you testing? I find that my cheap sticks are just as accurate as my CB connected but I do like the digital aspect of CB. I would just make sure you are testing at least once a day between 10am and 6pm and then when you get close to expected ovulation up it to twice a day when you see the test line getting darker check regularly so you don't miss the surge, it can be as short as 4hrs. Have you tried putting opks into an app, femometer and Premom both read the sticks for you and can make it easier to see the pattern 👌🏾 Baby dust to you aswell xx

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:44

@SmileyT I am based in mid wales, I think her mum was allowed straight down to the delivery suite with her but they had to put her on a ward to start with and her mum wasn't allowed in then and had to wait outside in the car until she went to delivery. Covid makes everything difficult 😩 I'm hoping by the time I eventually conceive OH will he allowed to come to my scans with me as it is his first and he would love it so much its not the same looking at a picture in the car afterwards is it! ☹️

@Cocoblue22 @SmileyT I've also looked at the monitor but it does seem an awful amount of money doesn't it 😂🙈

@MrsDh2019 sorry to hear about your loss, we are in the same boat as I had a CP on the 10th but like @SmileyT says at least we know the sperm met the egg! That's the positive I am taking from this 💓

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 09:49

Great source of info here ladies. So I'm going to download the premom app and I've ordered the easy@home cheapie opks just to get started.
New to all this so will give it a go and see.
Thanks for the advice about testing between 10am and 6pm.. I have very long cycles atm, like 36 days, anyone know when I should start tracking with opks?
Following your messages with interest for guidance :)

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 09:55

Oh and another wee question.. Sorry for asking silly questions. What's BBT and how does it change through the cycle? Is that just your normal temperature with a regular thermometer? Oh gosh I sound clueless!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 10:23

@Maybe333 I would probably say to start testing around day 16 maybe but I know most ladies do it every day I think ? Just so you can see the gradual difference throughout your whole cycle if you're using the cheapie OPKs and because they're cheap you can get a lot for little money. BBT is basal body temperature so you're temperature first thing in the morning when you wake up before you move or get up or anything, i ordered the cheap fermometer thermometer I think it was about £10 and I have mine on my bedside table and as soon as OH alarm goes off I reach for it and do my BBT then before I go to the loo to do my CB OPK!
