Hi ladies 💕

13dpo today and af is imminent as temp dropped to cover line plus a bfn. So who's joining me?
TTC #1
This will be cycle 13 since mmc (Feb 19) but been TTC since June 2018 so a horribly momentous month for me.

Bought some vitamins recommended by it starts with the egg for this month and also male conception tablets for DH. So we shall see 🤞🏼

Lots of luck and baby dust to everyone 🍀🌈💕

Hi all 👋🏻
Back at it at the end of this month for cycle 4 of TTC my first.

What dates are you all planning to test around in June? It’s looking like it will be about the 12th for me. The countdown begins.

Lauren1288 · 04/05/2020 21:24

Hey can I join!!

I am 12 dpo with a bfn today and AF due imminently. Had what I thought was cramping last week but no symptoms for a few days so onto cycle 2 TTC baby number 1

Was slightly disheartened today seeing the bfn and I have long cycles so next opportunity is at least 3 weeks away (I'm a very impatient person 😂) but optimistic for the future 😃

Good luck and baby dust to you all

naaz08 · 04/05/2020 21:59

I would also like to join please, TTC number 2 and currently day 2 of AF. I had faint positives last week but then AF arrived. I will be testing around the 7th June.

Goodluck everyone

KRK05 · 04/05/2020 23:21

Il be joining u ladies. My AF is due Thursday this week, I've tested & BFN & I just know shes on her way 😖

We're TTC baby#2 we have a 5 year old DS. This will be our second cycle TTC although I'm calling my current cycle a 'practice run' cause I thought I'd be chilled & not track ovulation etc, I was so wrong 😂 Now I'm crazy obsessed so will be doing cheapie OPKs along with CB digital this cycle 😊

Good luck to everyone & lots of baby dust 💕

MrsLBear · 05/05/2020 08:19

@nina468 also baby number 1 and cycle 13 since mmc but probably cycle 18 or so in total.

That sounds good @Spinningthewheel I struggle a bit with cheapie opks so has the clear blue one. Haha prodding and poking sounds about right. Sounds like you're doing your best!

@primrosechill that's amazing you've been able to find ways to adapt and also to remove the whole regimented trying trying thing as it's hard enough some days having to abide by dates and times never mind throwing something else in the mix. It so easily feels like a chore so it sounds to me like you've cracked it. That sounds pretty much like us - we weren't preventing after the mmc but also wasn't timing anything. I think we only really timed again until June of July and I had it in Feb. But like I said we weren't preventing. I was maybe more tracking cm or something which in my case is utterly useless haha. It's so emotional and I think it's taken me a long time to be ok with it if I can even call it that. There's things I won't ever forget about it like the scan etc but it will make it so much more precious when it happens again.

@Missgoldilocks yeah we went through the strain initially but then I've been determined to not let that happen so try and act as natural as possible when I'm ovulating haha. He probably susses me out but he doesn't say anything. It can be such a mood killer. No we aren't either. When we were younger and first got together yes but now, I mean life gets in the way! This'll be our first and we have been trying since June 2018. Have to admit though we haven't been solid hardcore trying every cycle though cos sometimes it gets over whelming and I throw my toys out the pram.

Hi new ladies 👋🏼

Haha @KRK05 no such thing as a practice run. Our female brains don't allow that unfortunately 😂😂 best of luck to you!

My cycles can be a bit out of whack so could be testing anywhere from 1st June until 8th. I will know more once I've had my positive OPK. So hard to plan 😒

@Lauren1288 that blank space is awful isn't it. Sorry about your bfn hopefully this is your month 🙌🏻🙌🏻

@MrsLBear ahh I see! I wish I could just not say anything it would be so much easier but my partner has issues finishing if you get what I mean so it's like I have to be like right this week you have to finish 😳😩 and it takes forever it can be really uncomfortable. I'm thinking about throwing in some self insemination but just hoping it happens before we get to that. Sorry to hear you've had a hard time with it too, I mean you never think you'll be so stressed trying to get pregnant til you try! Well I didn't anyway

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 11:54

Hi Lovelies 👋🏼

Joining the June bus as AF is imminent.

Looking forward to getting started again and hopefully we all get February babies! 🤞🏼

primrosechill · 05/05/2020 12:45

Hello to all the new joiners!

@Missgoldilocks If it ever does get to the point where you start thinking about home insemination, I'm always happy to chat about it openly. I know I was a bit weirded out at first at the prospect of cups and syringes, but given my vaginismus it helped massively - and actually ended up being a source of lots of laughs and giggles for my husband and me. Not to mention it did work for us, in the 3rd cycle. (before my MC)

@MrsLBear MMC sounds awful when you don't expect it at all and find out during the scan - I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I'm glad you're excited about TTC now, though. For me, because it's still so fresh, I'm actually worried that if/when I get a BFP, I will be a ball anxiety the first trimester - expecting the worst. Really hope that's not the case and that I'll surprise myself. I have to say the whole MC experience, as horrible as it is, has made me also feel quite proud to be a woman and definitely more connected to the female community, what er go through and all of the anticipation, disappointment and heartbreak that are sadly part of the pregnancy process!!

primrosechill · 05/05/2020 12:48

Sorry, it strangely cut my last sentence there, what I meant to say is:

"...has made me also feel quite proud to be a woman and definitely more connected to the female community, understanding all that women go through and all of the anticipation, disappointment and heartbreak that are sadly part of the pregnancy process!!

KRK05 · 05/05/2020 14:57

Feeling positive for this cycle 🤞🏻 I have ordered CB advanced digital ovulation tracker, cheap OPKs to to do throughout the day & keep chart of plus BBT thermometer. Makes me feel better & have more of an idea of my body as this cycle I didnt track anything so felt so out of control as was only a guessing game 🙈

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 15:03

@KRK05 I'm excited for the next cycle too 🤞🏼 feeling prepared!

KRK05 · 05/05/2020 15:15

@Ltay2 Me too, like organised about it too plus thinking giving SMEP a go, OH isnt gonna know what's hit him this cycle with all this tracking etc I'm doing hes not used to me being like that 😂 I guess TTC makes us crazy ladies 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's good were moving on to this bus together over from May.

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 15:49

@KRK05 Yeah I am feeling very knowledgeable and organised too 😂 we are going to just aim for every other day during FW and whenever we feel outside of that. OH is just taking the tact of "we will just try harder next time have more sex and what will be will be" he doesn't realise the extent at which I 'try' with the millions of OPKs and temp checks that go on outside of the DTD time 😂

KRK05 · 05/05/2020 16:11

@Ltay2 Men just dont realise everything women have to do full stop, they have it easy compared to women 😂 would love to swap places for a few month! My OH is so laid back it's pretty annoying. I always considered myself fairly laid back but when Its something in dedicated too I go from 0-100 on the crazy scale 🙈

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 16:24

@KRK05 I am SO laid back usually I think it annoys my OH when I'm so calm and collected about potential problems and he's there worrying! In his eyes if I'm panicking it must mean something is very wrong and then he panics more 😂 but this seems to be the other way round, so I'm trying to not let my craziness show 🙈

Missgoldilocks · 05/05/2020 19:01

@primrosechill thank you! We will be trying the cup this month, any tips of getting it in okay once he's finished? I've heard people get their oh to finish in the cup and then inserting it?! Dunno if I could do that without spilling it lol but I'm definitely all for inserting the cup after to hold it up there and maybe even with him finishing in the cup and inserting it, I just don't want to lose any 😅

Minster2012 · 06/05/2020 08:04

Morning ladies! Parking myself here & I will go back & read stories I think. I recognise a couple of names from may hi @Ltay2 & obvs @MrsLBear!

I’m 35, 36 in July. 2nd proper cycle TTC for us but actually 9th having had a missed miscarriage in between (which was actually from IVF) so medicated miscarriage in lockdown which was horrendous in March which seems to have totally screwed me, I’m now finished on 3rd lot of AF bleeding in 9/10weeks 😖right when we were really enjoying FW!! So maybe that’s cycle 1 then who knows! Anyways here’s hoping this might be a proper cycle.

I’ve no idea what my regular cycles are as I was always on contraception before whilst having chemo (hence had embryos ready for IVF). We have a DS who was carried for us by my amazing best friend as a surrogate whilst I couldn’t stop my treatment so we are truly lucky with our miracle child & I’ve been told my fertility is screwed from 10 years of cancer treatment so we don’t hold up much hope of a natural conception but we might as well try during these weird times 😂& it’s fun and a hell of a lot cheaper 😆

Enough about me!

Spinningthewheel · 06/05/2020 13:21

Just posting for a totally unjustified moan. My body is doing nothing! Want my hormones to get in gear but it’s all still in post pill hibernation I think! 😡🙄

All the talk of being crazy upthread- you’re not being crazy, you’re planning for a huge event in your life, I think it’s totally reasonable to be tracking everything! Plus it’s super interesting (scientist here) a real life experiment.

Ltay2 · 06/05/2020 13:26

@Minster2012 Hi 👋🏼👋🏼

I am still waiting for AF to appear properly. Due tomorrow but still only a tiny amount of spotting.

Vividdreamer88 · 06/05/2020 15:22

@MrsLBear I was 6-7 weeks it was my first I am hopeful that June will result in a sticky bean.

Minster2012 · 06/05/2020 17:21

Right I’m caught up, so sorry to hear a few of you in a similar position to myself following miscarriages earlier on the year or even more recently, mine has really messed me up I can’t believe it’s like 10 weeks AFTER & I’ve not had a “proper” cycle I just want to take control & forget about it instead of being reminded, it’s not like AF isn’t crap enough as it is.

Anyway totally agree with @Spinningthewheel it’s taking control not being crazy

Sorry AF still isn’t here @Ltay2 Fingers crossed for soon

@KRK05 we were really enjoying SMEP & were in fact doing more then another AF showed up ahead of schedule so we’ll be doing that again but I need to keep using OPKs even earlier to try see when I ovulate if at all

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 08:10

AF arrived on time this morning as predicted. Just glad it's not late and I can now get on with the next cycle 🤞🏼 got my COQ10 supplements arriving today and going to get some grapefruit juice to try this cycle too.

MrsLBear · 07/05/2020 08:13

Hi ladies 👋🏼
And hi to all the new joiners!

Sorry been only briefly been popping on Mumsnet the past few days.
@primrosechill I totally agree it makes you realise how much some women go through before even having a baby. I mean I naively thought you pretty much have unprotected sex a few times and bang you're pregnant.
Have you discussed how long it takes him and your options @Missgoldilocks?

@KRK05 sounds like you have got all the basis covered there! Is the clear blue one that little device you pop the stick into? Yeah I think tracking something allows you to just know at least when to expect what. I do temp but since af came on Monday I've not been temping cos I've been sleeping a bit later - it wakes me up so early as it's on my mind. But I will start again Monday on cd 8. I bloody hate it the tie though.

@Ltay2 men do not get it at all!! They are oblivious and genuinely think it's as easy as just having sex a bit more 😂 if they knew half our conversations haha.

Hi @Minster2012 how are you lovely?

I might try SMEP again or rather just stick to DTD every other day. As we DTD when I get a positive OPK but that doesn't seem to be working.

OP posts:
Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 08:27

@MrsLBear Oh I know, bless him he's trying to be supportive but he doesn't have a clue the extent of planning that goes into it no matter how many times I try to explain 😂 our plan this cycle is to DTD every other day from CD10 until the day after ovulation. I don't think DTD every day for 3 days like SMEP would work for us it's just too much 🙈 this way we would still get in a couple more DTD days in FW than we did last cycle so hopefully along with my added supplements and grapefruit juice it will help! Here's to February due dates 🤞🏼🤞🏼
