Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

Trying SMEP for the first time this month, and made sure to follow the clearblue ovulation test rules to the letter. After the last 2 months of not getting a flashing smiley I got one yesterday morning (woke quite a few times needing the loo but held on until 6am) I then didn’t go to the loo for 4 hours yesterday evening (painful!) tested again and got my static smiley (CD 12) which was 2 days earlier than I normally get it. My cycle is very regular so I’m beginning to think I actually picked up my ovulation too late in the last couple of months.

We’ve DTD CD 8, CD 10, CD 12, planning for today, tomorrow, skip a day and once more. Also using conceive plus.

I also got the results of my ovulation reserve test and they came back normal.

Come on lucky number 7 cycle.

Good luck this month @Slippingcareer 🙏

@serialplanner I'm actually due AF on the 17th and I might test tomorrow because I really fancy having a bottle of wine Friday night after a long week at work and just want to confirm that I'm not pregnant first 😂

@GiraffeInScarf so good to see the result in bold letters... absolutely amazing, so happy for you and OH ❤️

Seafrontsky · 14/05/2020 10:22

Oh @giraffeinscarf I'm so happy for you! Such a sweet story of telling your DP. Had a lovely day celebrating my DD birthday yesterday thanks, completely sugared out by the end but she was happy!

@HopeWish it's so fantastic, congratulations! Written in words makes it much more real! Yay!

@Slippingcareer welcome! Hope is a lucky month for you sounds like you are doing all the right things.

serialplanner · 14/05/2020 10:38

@SmileyT go for it! Exciting! X

Seafrontsky · 14/05/2020 10:39

@serialplanner I know exactly what you mean, I'm normally so positive too, and have really been quite relaxed about it all but I know from the last 18 cycles not to get my hopes up! I really hope this is both our months to fall, and we wont be out until AF arrives. Won't be long now till we know one way or the other! Planning to relax, and keep busy these next few days. I've done everything I can (preseed, pineapple, seeds, vitamins for last 6 months, warm feet) also done a liver detox this month and zero alcohol. Phew!
The way I see it if the good SMEP luck skips us this month, next month we are in with a chance!

@GiraffeInScarf Made up for you! How many cycles have you been trying?

@cherrychatter BBT and I'm going to order an at home SA test for DF as we're now on cycle 10 with not even a chemical so starting to get worried.

serialplanner · 14/05/2020 10:44

@Seafrontsky thank you. Good way to look at it. Everything crossed xxxx

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 10:47

Amazing @HopeWish so glad your lines got stronger and the digi has come up pregnant!! Have you shared the news with DP?

Awww @GiraffeInScarf that's lovely your DP was thrilled. I was actually going to ask if you were going to do one on the monitor! You can imagine how many I've got being on cycle 9!!

@SmileyT I've not got the fertility cup, not sure how I feel about it. Got all my seeds though! Flaxseed was difficult and not sure I got the right thing but never mind. Let's hope we don't need them.

@serialplanner how many DPO are you currently? I'm not feeling positive this month, would love a surprise but just have a feeling.

Hi @Littlebee1990 ! Have you been TTC long? Hope AF stays away for you!!

@VP91x did you ever get that static smiley?

Littlebee1990 · 14/05/2020 10:50

Hey @cherrychatter 👋🏼

No not for long at all, we only decided half way through last month to stop using condoms but I came off the pill in December in prep for TTC at some point. This is first month of actually tracking anything.

How about you? X

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 10:53

Hi @Slippingcareer Woohoo for that static smiley! Fingers crossed for you.
What does the ovulation reserve test involve?

@Slug123 I know the feeling! It's tough isn't it. Have to say BBT is interesting but I dropped temp today so now I'm feeling 👎🏼 I should probably do some reading about it to fully understand it before I start getting disheartened I guess!

Fingers crossed for everyone that's got tests coming up soon 😘

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 10:57

@Littlebee1990 that's great, at least you've been off the pill for a decent amount of time so hopefully your body is good to go!
We're on cycle 9..or 10 (they're blending into one now) There's been a few months where we've not managed to have sex during fertile window so have completely missed it.
Have you been temping or just OPK's? Where in your cycle are you currently? Fingers crossed for you. Looks like you're about a week behind me!

Slug123 · 14/05/2020 11:07

@Seafrontsky and @serialplanner I have normally convinced myself by now that this will be my month but for some reason I feel really negative about this cycle now so think I'm out. Woke up in a good mood this morning too so think I've come to terms with the fact ti might not happen.

@cherrychatter it's so tough! Sounds like you've been trying the same amount of time as us too. I've seen people announce and give birth now since we've started trying which is really tough!

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 11:12

@Slug123 yeh, this is cycle 9 or 10. It is hard and as much as I try to keep positive, it's tough. However, we're doing all the right things, covering all bases, so I'm hopeful our time will come and even better if it's sooner rather than later!!! I'm just trying to relax as much as possible. Definitely going to get an early night tonight as I've slept terribly the last few days.

VP91x · 14/05/2020 11:13

@cherrychatter no, not yet. Had a frustrated cry this morning as my temps were still dipping slightly and then the CB was still flashing. Also, when I wiped this morning I had more EWCM with a slight brown tinge. I am on Cd16 now, on CD14 I had the same but it was a tiny streak of blood so maybe something is happening.

Is your BBT still above your coverline? Xx

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 11:17

@VP91x 😥 sorry to hear you we're upset, so frustrating. I hope something's happening. Either your tests missed your surge or it'll be here soon. Like I said I got my peak CD16 but other months it's been CD18 or CD24 so I've still got my fingers crossed for you. EWCM is a good sign!!
Yep, still above the cover line, is that good? I really need to read up on this don't I! X

VP91x · 14/05/2020 11:22

@cherrychatter thank you, I had a coffee and tried to pull myself together. I definitely haven't ovulated yet because my temps are still at around 36.0 so just waiting to see what happens. I know there is still hope, just running out of sticks and patience 😂

From the few things I have seen as long as it stays fairly above the coverline then you should be OK. I'm not 100% sure though xx

Slippingcareer · 14/05/2020 11:23

@cherrychatter I ordered a test from let’s get checked. It’s a blood sample from a finger prick that you send to them. Did the test Monday, got the result on Wednesday.

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 11:31

@VP91x the coffee will sort you out, if not, have another cry and some of your fave sweets, always makes me feel better, until I have too many and feel sick 🤷🏼‍♀️ patience... I ran out of that a long time ago 🤣 keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Ooh thanks, that's given me a little boost but I'll do some reading on it later and try to understand it all. Too much to learn, who knew there was so much involved!!

@Slippingcareer wow, quick turnaround, hopefully that's given you some comfort! X

VP91x · 14/05/2020 11:36

@cherrychatter thank you, I just had a little chocolate too 😂. I feel bad already feeling frustrated on cycle 2 when there's so many of you who have had much harder and longer times TTC.

Yeah there's quite alot on it online! So much involved. I feel like women ahould all be made to take a course to know about all this xx

serialplanner · 14/05/2020 12:42

@cherrychatter I'm not actually sure as I never got a static smiley on the 2 day CB OPK.

I got EWCM on 3rd May so I'm just guessing that ovulation happened by the 5th May which would make me 9DPO But that's all made up.

App which does track my periods well says I'm due on 16th May but it was very randomly 2 days early this month so maybe it's further away. Who knows😂

My birthday is 17th May so I was also planning to test after that so I'm not sad on my birthday if it's a BFN.

Gosh I've rambled there sorry😂

Seafrontsky · 14/05/2020 12:43

Chocolate, coffee and a good film always work for me @VP91x. It doesn't matter how long or not it's been going on it's still emotionally draining! I'd totally sign up for a course! So much to learn.

serialplanner · 14/05/2020 12:44

@Slug123 it is tough and during lockdown it doesn't help. Try and think if you are you'd rather look back now and remember being hopeful.

I know it's still ultimately a bit rubbish at times but we sort of have to fake it until we make it.

Still time for lots more good news🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

serialplanner · 14/05/2020 12:49

@VP91x it's so much energy emotionally and physically. Whichever cycle you are on it's okay to feel the way you do. Try and get outside for a walk if that's possible with work. Outside, sunshine and fresh air helps to shake it off.

Xxx

cherrychatter · 14/05/2020 14:50

@VP91x it doesn't matter how long you've been trying, it's frustrating when you want something and it's not happening!

@serialplanner oh you've got more will power than me! I'd be dying to know but completely understand why you'd want to wait until your birthdays done!!

Xx

VP91x · 14/05/2020 15:31

@serialplanner @cherrychatter @Seafrontsky thank you so much.

I ended up napping when my daughter did and now I'm having a walk feel alot better!

How is everyone else's day going? Xx
