Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

@serialplanner I definitely see a faint line. Oh my goodness I have everything crossed for you. Xx

Seafrontsky · 02/07/2020 16:13

@serialplanner wooohooo so exciting! Congratulations! And in the same month as your bestie or am I getting confused? So happy for you we needed a bit of good news.

@Hoping41 that looks like a good healthy chart to me. Very similar to mine too. My acupuncturist warmed me up from being pretty cold so I always thought it's better to be on the warmer side. Hmmm not sure now! I do it orally too (think vaginally would be the final romance killer my normally understanding OH would break at!). Sometimes I find one side of my mouth hotter. Not sure if I'm shoving it in too far!

Good luck with the tests, hope you get seen soon

@serialplanner I'll be thinking about you tomorrow morning. We definitely deserve some bfps this month!!
@seafrontsky ah, she heated you up! I knew she'd changed your temps one way. I couldn't find anything that said our temp was bad for ttc as I was looking yesterday after someone in our fb group posted theirs. I posted mine on there after and no one seemed shocked by it. I'm thinking it's good as the advice is to keep your womb warm and it's definitely that with those temps!!

Hoping41 · 02/07/2020 17:24

@seafrontsky btw, your graph seems very textbook! Even I can clearly spot the temp drop before ov and your 3 consistent higher temps after ov. Good job!!

SmileyT · 02/07/2020 17:55

@serialplanner omg!!! That isn't even that faint this is amazing 🥳 you can join your bestie on the pregnancy bus!! I know you are being cautious but I'm excited, how many tests have you got? I'd test again in the morning xx

SmileyT · 02/07/2020 18:01

@Hoping41 yeah my charts have been pretty text book since I've been charting so making me feel like something is off but not stressing about it. Tbh I get zero AF symptoms so haven't had anything to spot at all these last few months 😂 you're chart looks perfect I'm very jealous x

@Seafrontsky another text book chart from you aswell, how are you feeling? xx

If at all possible I'm feeling very energised like I'm in fertile week not TWW god knows what that means 🤷🏾‍♀️

serialplanner · 02/07/2020 20:01

Thank you so much everyone. Very kind.

I'm going to test again tomorrow with a CB digital and hopefully it's still there.

I've googled brown discharge and apparently it can be your body getting rid of old blood (yuck) so we'll see! I still feel like AF is on her way.

Yes bestie is pregnant too! We would be 2 weeks apart if mine is real.

Sorry I'll be back to normal chatting soon! Can't concentrate🤣

Hoping41 · 02/07/2020 20:52

@smileyt you haven't started seed cycling have you? I'm also feeling very different this tww - far more like I do in the first half of my cycle. I think the seeds have evened me out!

SmileyT · 02/07/2020 20:59

@Hoping41 I've started the luteal phase seeds I never get round to getting the first half seeds yet 🤣

@serialplanner totally understandable to be focussed on only one thing we'd all be the same, enjoy it, you've given me hope ☺️

VP91x · 02/07/2020 21:01

@serialplanner excited for you to test again in the morning. That really was an obvious line so I'm sure it will still be there in the morning. Also omg, don't apologise its a wonderful thing to be discussing !! xx

serialplanner · 03/07/2020 04:55

It's real! So bizarre! I never felt like my period was coming more yesterday. Must have been implantation!

So nice to share with you girls!

How are you feeling this morning xx

VenusStarr · 03/07/2020 06:35

Thank you for the welcome :)

Congratulations @serialplanner ❤️ exciting

Cd1 has arrived - woken at 4am with horrible period pain, but it good news. I have shorter cycles, so we'll be starting dtd from cd5 ish as next weekend I'll be going into my fertile week.

Hoping41 · 03/07/2020 06:52

@serialplanner that's great news!! No denying that results with that test!! Congratulations 🎉🎊 here's to a healthy, stress free 9 months for you. How are you feeling? How is your OH?

Dipsy77 · 03/07/2020 07:01

Congratulations @serialplanner xx

Seafrontsky · 03/07/2020 07:37

Wonderful news! @serialplanner 💚💙 I had a good feeling about you this month, I'm so happy for you. Hope you and OH are doing ok, enjoy the warm fuzzies today!

Seafrontsky · 03/07/2020 07:38

@Hoping41 seed cycling has done wonders for my sore boobs and other symptoms during TWW too.

Jilly1988 · 03/07/2020 07:44

Woohoo Massive congratulations @serialplanner so happy for you 💕

Jilly1988 · 03/07/2020 07:46

I have just taken my bbt this morning. I had my static yesterday so taking this as ovulation day. My temp dipped but it’s dipped to 36.07 is that really low?

VP91x · 03/07/2020 07:59

@Jilly1988 my pre ovulation temps are between 35.90-36.15 normally, so no I wouldn't say its low!😊 You should get a nice temp rise tomorrow xx

serialplanner · 03/07/2020 10:59

Thanks so much ladies! Feeling weird and bloated but otherwise fine. OH in shock🤣but happy. I've decided to be excited. Of something bad happens we'll cross that bridge then.

@Seafrontsky how lovely you had a good feeling.

Now for more BFPs on this thread🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🌈🌈🌈

I can't really think what we did different except the final two times when we couldn't be bothered we got it done. Poor child🤣

@serialplanner you have the right idea, enjoy every moment as you won't get this time back ☺️ rest up and be kind to yourself and stay positive, this is meant to be ❤️

@Jilly1988 yeah my pre ov temps are normally around 36 and post ov around 36.4 so that sounds normal to me x

@VenusStarr good luck for your new cycle xx

Hoping41 · 03/07/2020 13:10

@SmileyT oh you should - the first half are much easier and tastier in my morning cereal. I couldn’t find ground sesame so I’m always out with the mortar and pestle!

@Seafrontsky that’s good to hear. I’m feeling so good I was actually a little worried 😂

@Jilly1988 you have opposite temps to me, I’m always high - although we’re still within the same degree. I don’t think it’s a worry unless you are super low or high?

SmileyT · 03/07/2020 13:30

@Hoping41 yeah I ground a load up with pestle and mortar, leave them and just chuck a teaspoon on whatever I'm eating 😂

kittenpeak · 04/07/2020 14:04

I am 33. We had 3 cycles where we had sex every day in the fertile period (approx 8 days) and nothing was happening. I was using clear blue ovulation sticks and was confident we were doing it on the right days. After 3 failed cycles, and having unprotected sex for over a year (but not paying attention to dates) I was getting very down and even started the process of getting tested with my GP. Had been for swabs and husband gave a sample.

Last month we decided to do SMEP. I rolled my eyes when I read it, as knew it wouldn't work because we would be having sex less..... but I got pregnant! So no eye rolling now! Could have been a fluke, but I totally recommend! I also cut out alcohol, caffeine and taking folic acid daily xx
