Any buddies trying SMEP for the first time this cycle?

Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

Confession time... I just caved 🤦🏻‍♀️ Don’t know what made me do it, I’ve really not thought about it at all. But hey, didn’t turn out to be such a bad idea... 😲

Thanks ladies, I’m in total shock! I’m far too sensible to test in the evening 🤨 I used a cheapie to get over myself and was sure I saw something... hadn’t tipped the pee pot so got out an FRER and can’t really argue with it 😂 desperately don’t want to get carried away just yet tho.
I’m one of those whose believed I’ve left it too late, it’ll never happen, there must be something wrong, zero symptoms and feel no different at all, expecting the usual squint at a BFN... it turns out it can happen, even to someone like me! 😊

Amazing @GiraffeInScarf SO pleased for you!! Love that at 6pm you were waiting until Friday and by 10pm you'd tested! Exciting!!!

@Slug123 & @SmileyT what's on your action plan for next cycle? (which I am hoping you don't need!!)

@cherrychatter I've got a fertility cup, some pregnacare supps, seeds, more opks, l'arginine, pomegranate and grapefruit juice and some other random old wives tales that will probably not help 😂

Thanks @cherrychatter & @SmileyT, it still hasn’t sunk in, DP will be home from work in about half an hour and I’m sat here wondering how to go about this 😂

Of course SmileyT, chart attached. Last month it dropped 2 days before AF (luteal phase is 16 days, was due 19th). I’ll keep temping until I know it’s sticking 🤞🏻

Very lucky thread so far, can’t wait to see more BFP’s over the next week! 😊

I took another test this morning and line was stronger so gambled on whether a digi would pick it up and it did!!

SMEP definitely worked!!
I also used pre-seed on only 2 days and ate pineapple core during tww!

Feeling sick now but think its just nerves!

@SmileyT I half dared to think that about my chart but dismissed it to not get my hopes up. The app didn’t recognise it as one anyway.

DP is over the moon, I will never forget the look on his face! Don’t think he let go of the test stick al night 😂

Tried out a pregnancy stick in the clearblue monitor this morning (I have plenty after several months of feeling they were unnecessary!) didn’t expect a positive yet as I’m still 5 days before AF due (it says up to 3 days, but it probably expects a shorter luteal phase than mine) so had a FRER ready just in case to avoid panic. Didn’t need to worry 😊🥳

Hopewish that is GREAT! So nice to see it all clear on a digital.

Classic AF irritated mood and no real symptoms.

I did cave the other day and do a test which was a BFN but that was my own fault for testing early and not even properly (middle of the day not FMU)

I wish we could just know 😂
