Hello all!

I am 26, and trying for my first baby. I'm currently on CD4 of Cycle 3. After two cycles of only DTD a few times in fertile window and no result, DH and I are going to give the Sperm Meets Egg Plan a go this cycle.

For those who don't know, the plan goes like this:

-> From CD 8 DTD every other day until a positive OPK.

-> Start testing with OPKs daily from CD 10 (but I will be using earlier as O'd on CD11 last month!)

-> From positive OPK DTD on the day of the + OPK and two days after, then miss a day and DTD again the next day.

We will also be using pre-seed for the first time this month.

Is there anybody else who is doing SMEP this month? Or anybody who has tried it before successfully or unsuccessfully?

After the disappointment of AF arriving early, I'm excited to start a new cycle.

@cherrychatter well I guess it's like drinking, in an ideal world we'd follow an exercise programme in the TWW that would equate to a pregnancy workout, so being able to talk throughout and limited core exercises but I dunno 🤷🏾‍♀️

Good luck testing today @HopeWish 🤞

@VP91x hoping you get your static today, although you'd probably prefer tomorrow so you get a day of DTD before the 3 days in a row 😂

My RHR and BBT are down this morning but I'm still trying to send my uterus loads of positive vibes 🙏

VP91x · 13/05/2020 06:20

@SmileyT sending you all the positive vibes!!

My temp dropped again this morning from 36.16 to 35.69. Still flashing this morning, Im technically on 3rd day of flashing smiley to not too horrendous but CD15 now it must be happening soon 🤔🤔

Haha yes, would ideally like to get static tomorrow 😂😂 xx

Morning ladies,

Well I tested yesterday (9dpo) as well (no stopping me once I've started gah!) and was kind of bummed because it was a BFN.

This morning (10dpo) I was only going to test with a Wondfo, but something told me to test with an FRER and I'm so glad I did. A faint line, but very clearly a line, came up within 2-3 minutes. I haven't got a photo right now because I've left the test in the bedroom with DH and I don't want him to think I'm obsessing over it haha!

I will post photo later, it's still quite faint but definitely there.

Now to wait a couple of days to see if it gets darker. Trying not to get too excited because I know the risks in testing too early, I don't want to call this my BFP yet and I'm so nervous!

That's so exciting @HopeWish!

Good luck for test days everyone!

Am off for a sugar high day celebrating 4 year old birthday!

VP91x · 13/05/2020 07:46

Ahh happy birthday to your little one @Seafrontsky

@Hopewish that is so exciting!🤗🎉 Such brilliant news hopefully that line gets even darker. X,

HopeWish · 13/05/2020 08:12

Here is the test... The line is faint but clearer compared to the one I did the other day.

I have a cb digi in the cupboard so will do that on Friday.

@HopeWish I can definitely see it! Smile

Yayyyy! I'm so happy!

serialplanner · 13/05/2020 08:51

@HopeWish yay! So exciting! Congratulations!

Good reminder that an early test might not really be a BFN XXXXX

HopeWish · 13/05/2020 09:01

I had to double check as I worried that the test was faulty. Took a wondfo HPT and thought I would test that theory that OPKs can detect hCG.

Dark if not positive OPK and a very faint pink line on HPT (might not be able to see on this pic as my phone camera isn't great).

I am feeling more confident in it but need to wait to see progression now...

Good luck to all you other ladies testing soon! xx

I'd say it's all looking good @HopeWish! It's giving me hope for this month too.

I've been making up symptoms since yesterday afternoon. As soon as I finished work I had really bad cramps and then went for a bike ride and started feeling really sick. Continuing into today although not so intense.

Trying to convince myself it's only 4DPO so far too early but I'm sure you all know what it's like, especially after so long TTC! Smile

cherrychatter · 13/05/2020 10:28

Definitely something there @HopeWish really pleased for you, and keeping my fingers thoroughly crossed!!

Yeh I see what you mean @SmileyT I'll maybe take it easy as I've only really started working out over the past 2-3months.

@VP91x I got my peak on CD16 so hopefully yours will be tomorrow & you can enjoy a little break today!

@Slug123 I know the feeling. Also 4DPO and going to attempt no symptom spotting this month...let's see how I get on with that!!

Slug123 · 13/05/2020 10:50

@cherrychatter I'm doing the complete opposite haha Smile I usually try and ignore them but also secretly google some and then the next month I'm conscious I do the same again and again. So this month I am writing down EVERYTHING! Hopefully then in following months I can use it to calm myself that this is normal for me otherwise I get so upset when AF comes but I've convinced myself I've had so many symptoms haha!

gingerglitter4ever · 13/05/2020 11:55

@SmileyT yeah the 21st is the day after AF is due, I’m hoping that if it’s positive there’s enough hCG in my system lol but I’m assuming that at 18 or 19 DPO that it should be enough..

@HopeWish looking good! Crossing my fingers it gets darker and darker!!

cherrychatter · 13/05/2020 12:17

@Slug123 that actually sounds like a good idea, I've not really kept many notes on various TWW symptoms and each time I try to remember if I had it at this time the month prior....you've inadvertently persuaded me to start documenting everything 😂

Slug123 · 13/05/2020 12:57

@cherrychatter uh-oh! I hope that ends up being a good thing hehe.

gingerglitter4ever · 13/05/2020 13:03

@cherrychatter I would totally recommend Fertility Friend! They give you a log where you can put in “specifics” and log all your symptoms, you can even add new ones. 🙂

Slug123 · 13/05/2020 13:20

Ladies, my thermometer has arrived already! Only ordered it yesterday.

I know it's late in my cycle (4DPO) but is it worth starting in the morning?

cherrychatter · 13/05/2020 14:12

Another thing for me to obsess over @Slug123 🤣 wont do any harm. Re thermometer, can't offer any advice as I'm new to temping but guess it wouldn't hurt to get used to it!

@gingerglitter4ever perfect, thanks! I've got FF but haven't been putting any symptoms on it!

GiraffeInScarf · 13/05/2020 18:18

@HopeWish that looks so promising! Keeping everything crossed that you see it turning stronger in the next few days, I’m so happy for you! 😊

@Seafrontsky happy birthday for your DC! hope you’ve had a lovely day 🥳🎂

@Slug123 I started mid cycle (last time) and it’s useful for getting into a routine for it so I’d say get started! I barely remember doing it most mornings, if you can get in the habit you’ll more likely get a smooth and easy to read chart. And hoping you get your BFP this month, at least you’ll have used it! 😂

Still feeling no different, but I’m excited to find out how this month has gone. Not long to go, although I wish tomorrow was Friday!

SmileyT · 13/05/2020 18:47

@gingerglitter4ever at 18 or 19dpo you'll have a blazing BFP I think the latest pregnancy can start is around 12dpo, definitely no squinters 🙌🏾

@Slug123 definitely start temping, if you do have another cycle ( 🤞 you won't) it will be interesting for you to see what your BBT does before AF x

gingerglitter4ever · 13/05/2020 19:12

@SmileyT are you having any symptoms? What DPO are you?

Hopefulmummie · 13/05/2020 19:14

I had a big rise in BBT today.. not sure if this means anything just being hopeful I suppose lol

Any buddies trying SMEP for the first time this cycle?
Slug123 · 13/05/2020 19:25

@GiraffeInScarf that would be just my luck! We've decided an action plan if it doesn't happen this month too which I'm glad about as I feel less stressed about AF coming but also knowing my luck this will be my month so won't need any of it! Smile

@SmileyT good shout, I guess it's good to get used to it and, as you say I'll have most my tww to compare too!

@Hopefulmummie fingers crossed 🤞

SmileyT · 13/05/2020 19:33

@Slug123 I have a whole action plan for next month aswell, list of things to order on amazon if AF arrives 😊

@gingerglitter4ever I'm 11dpo and no symptoms tbh, felt a bit of throbbing on the side I think I ovulated but honestly could just be tummy rumbling 🙈 I also use the specifics on FF (way too many selections of gassy 😂) any recurring themes for you this TWW?

gingerglitter4ever · 13/05/2020 20:33

@SmileyT I have had tender bbs for forever now and they just seem to be firm and sensitive like bruised feeling.. I’ve had some light cramping but it’s not there anymore, so possibly implantation cramps? Or just mid cycle cramping?
Other than that I’ve just been tired haha I’ve taken some naps and sleeping in lol
Yesterday i woke up with a scratchy throat and overall “hit by a bus feeling” haha I dunno if that’s something?
