I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

@Hayleylou89 that sounds fab! A nice fresh start for you both. And yes certainly nice to have new surroundings to enjoy each other. You can certainly end up in a bit of a rut with the bd when ttc. Yes hopefully you won’t get all those flashing smileys and it will go static sooner this time! Xx

Mommybear05 · 24/04/2020 08:26

@SmileyT it was so funny 🙈 because I only used a tiny amount and he got offended and was like you will need more it’s bigger than that’ and I was like ‘it’s £20 a tube!’ Haha. I’m not even in my fertile window yet (although I’m not entirely sure when that is) so I only used a tiny bit to try it out but yes it was good to test it out haha. Every little helps. Xx

Morning! Coming over from the April thread, after a faint line on Wednesday had a stark white BFN on a frer this morning. Still no sign of af but don't think she's coming any time soon. Just need to ride it out like I did last year and hopefully catch ovulation.

No idea when she will come so just want to try and get back into my fitness and back to eating well.

Hopefully still going to use ic opk's... Can I ask when is the best time of day to take them? Recently I've been taking them using fmu xx

Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 09:11

@francis05 Hey you, sorrry to see u here but were all in it together.

I usually do a few a day but i think mid morning picks up the start of ur surge, as its something to do when the hormones releases it takes a few hours to show and it normal happens in the morning then shows in the afternoon, however ...the cb monitor will still pick up peak with FMU as it did for me last month but think the cheapies are usually smu or later x x

Donnat89 · 24/04/2020 09:14

@francis05 I read you shouldn't use FMU for OPKS if that helps at all , other then that I don't think it matters xxx

francis05 · 24/04/2020 09:22

@Hayleylou89 @Donnat89 ah that could be where I'm going wrong then!! Going to try and use the cheap opks for another month before I fork out for clear blue. Although I have just bidded for an Ava Bracelet on ebay 🙈

Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 09:38

@francis05 yeah tbf the cheap opks work spot on too its just with them u have to test alot to make sure u dnt miss that surge, i use them alongside the cb and they do match up when at my peak xx what does the ava bracelet do? X x

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 09:49

@francis05 I do my cheapies around 4pm as my packet said not to use fmu, I think CB can pick it up because they check for oestrogen aswell and kinda track your baseline. As Hayley said my cheapies picked up surge same time as CB when line gets darker if just change to testing every 4-6hrs to make sure you don't miss it... hoping you find the surge this month and it all works out with no AF again.

@Mommybear05 my OH

francis05 · 24/04/2020 09:50

@Hayleylou89 I think it's similar to a smartwatch, tracks your temp, heart & breathing rate etc to predict cycles. £249 brand new though!!!!

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 09:54

@Mommybear05 definitely pressed send too quick but I also only went up to #1 on the applicator I actually thought that was sufficient although when I'm in fertile week I'll probably be slapping it on 😂

I also read something about saliva being really bad for sperm, no idea if that is an old wives tale but we're trying no oral this month so I'll need all the lube I can get 🙈

OP posts:
Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 10:12

@SmileyT no saliva... the oh will NOT be happy if i tell him that there wont be any more of that this cycle haha... word of warning i used too much preseed and he didnt like it... dtd went tits up that day, so be warned too much can end in disaster 🙈😂 x

MrsLBear · 24/04/2020 10:31

@donnat89 @francis05 if you're using clear blue sticks then you should use fmu. They work a bit differently for some reason and recommend fmu 🤔

MrsLBear · 24/04/2020 10:34

Yeah I've read that a few times saliva is bad for TTC something to do with the ph level or something.
Also think I misread the chat re opks. I never got a positive on IC opks unless I'm using the cb ones alongside. Think my surge is quite short maybe? And also I drink a lot of water in the day which obvs doesn't help.

Donnat89 · 24/04/2020 12:03

@MrsLBear I've not used OPKS before using them for my first cycle now and only using cheapies that say not to use
FMU . Will see how I get on with them xx

MrsLBear · 24/04/2020 13:04

@donnat89 oh I see! Good luck and fx you get a positive. They drive me insane haha

VP91x · 24/04/2020 16:24

Ladies those of you that use cheap OPKs maybe @SmileyT @Hayleylou89

Do you normally get a line when you test at any time of the month? Just wondering what your pattern is like before AF is due. I tested today just to try out my sticks. Haven't POAS in a while 🙄 and got this. I uploaded into my femometer app and it said it was a high reading. I know obviously I won't be ovulating just wondered if it is usual.

Xx

Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 16:31

@VP91
yeah so LH is always present in most women throughout ur cycle u will know when its peak when it gets alot darker xx

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 18:03

@Hayleylou89 😂😂 genuinely not sure the saliva thing is true but I'm not taking the risk. But I'll take your advice and go slow on the lube... we're alternating between preseed and concieve plus so we'll see what works best.

@VP91x yep as Hayley said you get a reading throughout the month but your control line does look pretty light actually which is probs why femometer is reading it as high, although my lh showed a high reading about 36hrs before period started no idea why 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi Ladies,

Hoping I can join too?

Had a miscarriage just before 8 weeks and the first appointment with midwife in October last year. It was the most devastating time for me and my partner (the house we were buying also fell through and one of our rats died all in the space of a few days) bad luck really does come in 3’s!

Been TTC since we’ve miscarried and so far, no luck. I was so adamant I was pregnant last month (the house that fell through last year we have just reserved again, thought it was a sign after all the bad luck, the AF turned up and I’ve never felt so upset and disappointed!

I’m 4dpo at the moment and period is due on the 4th of May so really hoping this month is finally the month for us all!

How are all you ladies getting on? Any BFP’s yet?

VP91x · 24/04/2020 18:12

@SmileyT @Hayleylou89 fab, thank you both. I thought that would be the case! Xx

Isittimeforbubblesyet · 24/04/2020 19:45

Hi ladies,

I hope I can join. I had a MMC in October and have been TTC since then but no luck. Just waiting for AF to arrive now but have had a BFN so know this month is out for me. Feeling a bit crap as this was our last month to conceive before what would have been my due date 😔

So will be back on it for May. Just been reading about SMEP which I had never heard of! Thinking of giving this a go for next month. Does anyone know if the 3 consecutive days start with the static smiley face or the flashing face on the CB tests?

Really sorry that you are all here but fingers crossed for some positive stories soon Flowers

HE88 · 24/04/2020 19:48

Hi @Blozza sorry you find yourself here and what you have been through. I'm currently at the end of af so will be starting ttc again this cycle so will be testing mid May. Xx

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 20:05

Hi @Blozza welcome to the group and sorry for your loss. No tests yet in this group as all testing in May, so hopefully you'll be one of the 1st.

@Isittimeforbubblesyet hello there, I'm trying SMEP for the first time this month and currently CD6 so maybe like a week ahead of you. The 3 days start from a positive opk so I assumed that was static as you can have like 8 days of flashy and they indicate Oestrogen I believe and not your LH surge. Did seem a bit strange to me that you have sex 4 times after that but going to give it a go 😊

Mommybear05 · 24/04/2020 20:07

@Isittimeforbubblesyet hello again and sorry to hear about your bfn this month :( and it’s a shame u haven’t conceived before the due date. Fingers crossed for a bfp this month xxx

Blozza · 24/04/2020 21:27

@HE88 Thank you. I’m sorry to hear for your loss also and your diagnosis. Hopefully this is the month for you😊 x

It was quite surprising when I found out I was pregnant. My periods were still all over the place and horrendously painful having been in non stop contraception (mainly the injection) for about 10 years (I now remember why I stopped them).

although we weren’t using protection I didn’t think I had any time to ovulate and now, I never thought I’d be one to be constantly checking my ovulation times like a hawk and making sure we have sex leading up to and on and get my hopes up every month to be disappointed.

I didnt realise how ready and desperate I am for a baby until we had our miscarriage.

Hi @SmileyT Thank you. I am sorry for your loss also. Fingers crossed that this is the month for you! X

Hopefully we all get bfp’s soon🤞
