TTC after miscarriage - May 2020

SmileyT · 19/04/2020 07:44

I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

Aw @Donnat89 and @Hayleylou89 sorry to see you both here big hugs to you both.

@Hayleylou89 my cycles have been like yours since I came off the pill back in November 2017 when I decided to try for baby #2. It was very frustrating it turns out I have endometriosis and I had a laparoscopy in October 2019 then I fell pregnant in December 2019 so I can't really judge my cycles as such but I was 5 weeks for period after mmc, then 28 days which I have never been. I'm not 100% sure if my cycles were that way because of the endo or not but all my hormone levels were normal so who knows. Xx

Donnat89 · 23/04/2020 16:21

I was Going to try track BBT but I'm
So bad At remembering to take
It before I get up .

I'm going with femometer just because I've not used OPKS before and it seems this app with the strips will make it better

@Hayleylou89 I've no advice as
My cycles are the same always put be a few days either side so I'm thinking I'm probably missing ovulation some how so I need to track and see if I do ovulate on the same
Day or if there is something else going on

At least once this covid is over I can then show it to my GP who hopefully can give me some advice on what's going on !

I hope this month is a lucky month for everyone !

Xxxx

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 16:28

@HE88
Iv never really took notice at the length of them to be honest as we started trying in sept and fell in Sept so we were avoiding pregnancy before the. But i was still using natural cycles to avoid pregnancy and its just all over the place... i hope i dont have endo... would i have other symtoms though isnt it painful and would it have been picked up on the baby scans maybe ? Xx

HE88 · 23/04/2020 16:36

@Hayleylou89 the common symptoms are very heavy periods and painful which I didn't have, painful yes but not extreme and my periods were never heavy in fact they were very light. A baby scan wouldn't pick it up it can only be diagnosed by laparoscopy (key hole surgery). I had no idea I had it until I got referred to a fertility clinic and they picked up a cyst on my right ovary which they were treating as an endometrioma another common trait of endo.
I really hope you don't have endo but that's they only thing I can think of for me that was causing my crazy cycles. Xx

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 16:45

@HE88

Oh wow, i might have it!! ...only yesterday i was looking through my hosp notes and noticed they picked up a cyst on my right ovary on my scan, however i dnt have really heavy sore periods either just normal id say.

I literally want to be checked for this, should i contact my GP? X

HE88 · 23/04/2020 16:49

@Hayleylou89 you could and ask to be referred to a gynaecologist. It can take years for people to have endo diagnosed which is a real shame I was just one of the lucky ones. Xx

SmileyT · 23/04/2020 16:54

@Hayleylou89 I'm sure I read on one of my apps that it's normal for them to vary by up to 10 days before they are something to worry about. I'd consider mine to be pretty regular but they are sometimes a few days shorter and sometimes a few days longer, shortest 25 and longest 43 over the last 12 months. I've considered for myself that it may be to do with diet and exercise aswell... as I can be quite aggressive with the gym and apparently that affects hormones. But definitely ring your GP if you are worried better to get checked out 😊

@SmileyT I got it because it was still on prime delivery on Amazon otherwise I might have opted for a cheaper one, but actually love that it syncs up and logs it for you.

My temps have been between 35.8-36.2 for the last few days. I normally temp between 05:30-06:00 when my little one wakes up. It seems quite accurate? What have yours been like? Xx

SmileyT · 23/04/2020 18:09

@VP91x oh mine have been between 35.9 and 36.1 so maybe not that crazy I just keep comparing it to the perfectly straight line on the femometer app. I've been doing mine about 5.45am everyday as that's just when my body seems to wake up even though alarm is set for 8.45. Even though mine varied a lot last month when I started it still showed a jump after ovulation so I guess that's the main thing 👌🏾

VP91x · 23/04/2020 18:15

@SmileyT oh basically the same as me then! I think there must be some variations in general. I think when you are ovulating you go above like 36.5 towards 37.0 dont you? I need to look at more charts and get myself familar with a pattern. The app seems good at analysing your temp pattern. Xx

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 18:29

@SmileyT ahh ok so yeah i was the same with the gym before getting pregnant so could be that aswell!! Ahh its a mind field isnt it. X

Sallyjo27 · 23/04/2020 18:30

Hi ladies hope you are all well!
Back again as bloods and gp confirmed it was a chemical or very very early miscarriage 😩
Worried maybe we should have waited a month after my MMC before trying again.
Anyway on day 33 now usual cycle is 31 days but think hormones are all over the place and had a BFN when testing this morning.
So hoping AF comes soon so we can get back to it.
Has anyone had the clear blue fertility monitors? Are they any good? X

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 18:31

@HE88 yeah im being referred for other things so ill ask my go about this aswell 🙏 will be a while anyway especially with everything going on x

Mommybear05 · 23/04/2020 19:15

@SmileyT yes I agree with you I don’t want to look back and feel I was stressing out! Our preseed arrived today 😉 got the wine in and so it’s Netflix and chill tonight (is that what they say lol) just having fun with it this month and who knows.

@Hayleylou89 yes I agree with smiley thar your cycle could be varied by that many days naturally but if you’re not happy see a go for sure. There’s different herbs you can take to help regulate cycles. One is called shatavari. I used a supplement from Holland and Barrett called Female Formula and this has shatavari and other things. It’s supposed to help with pms but also regulating hormonal balance. There’s also vitex. I’m on vitex now and that’s also supposed to regulate your cycles.
I’m not sure what’s normal for me as I was always on the pill but I have heard they can vary by a few days xxx

Mommybear05 · 23/04/2020 19:17

@Sallyjo27 hey sorry to hear that news :( I wouldn’t have thought that trying again so quickly would have had anything to do with it. Just bad luck I suppose 😔 that’s so annoying that your cycle is now different though! I hope af comes soon for you so it’s not too different! No experience with clear blue fertility monitors I’m afraid xx

Donnat89 · 23/04/2020 19:52

Evenings ladies hope everyone is well

I'm near the end of CD1 now and quite looking forward to get AF over with to start again.

My GP told me periods bei days early or days late is actually normal and doesn't tend to cause issues unless TTC which we are

I was like Clock work before my MC and my cycles don't seem to have settled since properly gave a few months 27 days , then 29 etc it's all a bit odd hence why I am
Now going to track ovulation as will make
It easier to see when AF is due and hopefully pick up some sort of pattern that I'm
Missing !

I hope May is a good news month for everyone

Xxxxx

HE88 · 23/04/2020 20:04

@Hayleylou89 fingers crossed it could be nothing but if you are worried then no harm in asking. Xx

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 20:31

Shes shown her face! Kinda feel releived that im working according to my app though thats one positive albeit that my cycles feel lime a lifetime long ...3 weeks until ovulation now 🙄 x x

SmileyT · 23/04/2020 21:12

@Mommybear05 I'd decided to stop drinking but I thought F it, I'm not going to put my life completely on hold so had a cheeky G&T with dinner and I'll actually watch Netflix tonight as DTD this morning brought on a last show from AF 🙄 especially with your DS make sure you enjoy every minute, I know it's not the same but my nephews are too big now and i miss them being small and being able to just pick them up and give them a cuddle whenever I want (very much on the iPad hype now especially during homeschooling).

@Hayleylou89 I'm sorry that AF arrived but plus side is that you did say that your cycles are 35 or 38 so at least they aren't getting longer. Don't take my word on the exercise thing and definitely check in with your GP but I know some girls completely lose periods when they exercise too much so makes sense it has affect on hormone level.

@VP91x I definitely think that if we are still temping in a few months (hopefully not) we will have a much better idea of what normal looks like for ourselves xx

Hayleylou89 · 23/04/2020 21:17

Thanks @Mommybear05 AF just come bang on time so all is well back to the start again ... 3 weeks until predicted ovulation so i plan to spend 2 weeks without a care in the world and then start testing a week or so before predicted ovulation not like last month where is started testing way too early xx

VP91x · 23/04/2020 22:00

@SmileyT yeah definitely! So good to just try and understand your body anyway.

@Mommybear05 enjoying netflix and chillin' 😏😏

@Sallyjo27 I'm sorry that it turned out to be a chemical 😩 I hope this month is positive for you. Xx

Mommybear05 · 24/04/2020 06:38

@VP91x @SmileyT yes enjoyed haha 😂 Hope you guys are doing well today

@Hayleylou89 oh good it’s come in time according to the app. Yes long cycles must be frustrating such a long wait. But a long cycle is still a cycle and you have your chance again coming. I think that’s a good idea to chill for the next couple of weeks and try to relax a little and then you can start testing coming up to your fertile window. You already have so much going on in the house and stuff so just keep yourself preoccupied and I’m sure the time will pass Smile

@Donnat89 yes that’s a good idea to track your ovulation to see what’s going on. You can make sure you do everything you can during that fertile window!
Xxxx

Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 07:42

@Mommybear05

I know .. my clear blue app says to start testing from 11th may so thats when ill start with them... and hopefully get a static within a week this time rather that 10000000 flashing faces haha x

Yeah our new bedroom in the loft is nearly done !! By the end of next week we will be in it, so the nice new surroundings and new bedroom for bding in this month will be nice and itll feel a bit different and brand new which can only be a good thing 🥰 xx

Hayleylou89 · 24/04/2020 07:54

@Sallyjo27 Yes iv used the cb fertility monitor, i got the connected one last month and stupid me started testing way before it asked me too and kept getting flashing smileys but then if id have started when it asked i would of only had a few flashies before my peak so they are spot on tbh the connect one send ur results to ur phone aswell which is good x x

SmileyT · 24/04/2020 08:18

@Sallyjo27 just seen your post sorry that it turned out to be a CP, I'm using the CB connected but don't have the full fertility monitor but I like the connected, although I only used it once last month and gave me a peak it was helpful to have the cheapies confirmed. Sending you lots of love x

@Mommybear05 how did you and OH like the preseed? I'll be getting the lube out this weekend 😂
