TTC after miscarriage - May 2020

SmileyT · 19/04/2020 07:44

I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

Hey ladies - can I join from the April thread? After 4 days of spotting it’s started to get heavier just this eve, so I suspect AF is due to arrive in all her glory bang on cd28 tomorrow (cruel body decided to give me spotting from 10dpo giving me some hope when it didn’t get heavier). Lots of positive vines and thoughts for everyone xx

VP91x · 25/04/2020 07:18

Morning @Bellabubble sorry that this wasn't your month either. We definitely are due some BFPs this month so lots of luck to us all.

Welcome also @Blozza and @Isittimeforbubblesyet hope you are both ok xx

Dipsy77 · 25/04/2020 07:51

Getting really annoyed with AF I'm usually 27 days and bleed for 5 I'm now on CD8 still bleeding. I started spotting on the 14th AF started heavily on the 18th and still bleeding ,now although lighter it's so annoying, has anyone else had this ? X

Mommybear05 · 25/04/2020 07:54

@Bellabubble hello sorry af got you! Yes I hate that spotting as it can give some indication of ib although that’s not always the case! Keep positive we will get some bfp here soon I’m sure :)

@Blozza welcome to the thread and sorry for your loss. It’s horrible when everything bad happens at the same time isn’t it. Must have been upsetting when you thought you were pg again 😔 but I’m sure you will find support on this thread. And you’re testing soon?

nizo1245 · 25/04/2020 09:10

Hi all, hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread.

I had a miscarriage over Easter weekend with my first pregnancy. I had my 12 week scan on Easter Monday, started spotting brown blood the Saturday before then properly bleeding the Sunday night. I passed clots and then the fetus overnight/very early on the morning of Easter Monday. I chose to still go to the scan to check if there were any complications. With the lockdown situation I wasn't given much information other than take a pregnancy test 2 weeks later.

I've been a bit impatient. stopped bleeding within a few days, took a cheap test I bought online and it came back negative. OH and I had sex after 8 days and all seemed fine.
We then had sex again the next day and afterwards I started to bleed a bit. I've been bleeding on and off a bit since then, nothing major but just when I wipe (sorry - tmi).
The blood worried me a bit so I've gone and bought a clear blue test and there's the faintest positive line still showing.

I've got no symptoms that make me think I might have an infection so far, so I'm hoping we maybe just disturbed something that hadn't quite healed yet.

We really want to ttc again ASAP.
Hoping for some positive similar stories!

I'll call my gp on Monday morning if the bleeding hasn't stopped. I could call the midwife line over the weekend but found them to be quite unhelpful and just overly sympathetic about the miscarriage with not much information, which really isn't what I need right now.

Sorry for the long post!

Morning ladies xx joining from the April thread . So into 2nd proper cycle of TTC after MC now . AF not yet in full flow but think she will later today .
My temp dropped yday so was an indicator .. although temp went back up today 🤔 and late last night and this morning notice CM was bloodshot and have typical AF cramps this morning .

So I think today will be CD1 , a 27 day cycle this time... although today is CD27 from last cycle so maybe that actually makes it a 26 day cycle ?
Next due to ovulate around may bank holiday the Thursday 7th /friday 8th may.

I want to keep in touch on here and see you all get your bfps but think I need to be less obsessive this cycle. So will more likely pop in and out of the thread rather than checking every day like I was .. ends up making me over think everything I think ! Had a good cry yday with DH as think it all just hit me .

They say when you "relax" more it happens... but I'm not sure how much to do /not do ... whether to temp or not and do opks or not ...
The month we conceived before MC we actually only DTD twice when got peak so I kinda think maybe we did it too much this time and it's better for us not to DTD loads..

Sorry to those other ladies joined xx wishing you and everyone in here lots of luck 🌈💞💙 we are deffo due BFPs in here this month! Dont think we had any in April thread so far xxx

Hayleylou89 · 25/04/2020 09:49

Hey everyone from april thread ... sorry to see u here 👎 .. so rubbish but we got this!!

Who was it that said about the AVA bracelet yesterday ... i went and ordered one on ebay aswell and the. Realised my cycles are sometime 38 days and aparently they dont work well for cycles over 35 days 🙈🙈 but its on its way so ill give it a try and sell it on if it doesnt work for me!Anyone had experience using one with a slightly long than 35 day cycle ... i do also have random 35 day cycles too and iv had a 32 day cycle the month before falling pregnant 1st time x x

SmileyT · 25/04/2020 10:07

@Dipsy77 sorry I have no helpful tips for you... mine is normally 3 days and then I spot for a couple, is it just a bit of spotting now? Or actually enough to fill pads? I would call the GP if this is really unusual for you.

@nizo1245 sorry for your loss, depending on how far along you were when baby stopped growing I would say that it's not unusual to still have a faint positive test a couple weeks later. I'd check with the same brand next time to confirm that the line is getting lighter or is there a chance you could be pregnant?

@Renna I had a big cry the first day of AF and DP actually suggested I stay off of MN 🙈 but I've kinda changed my thinking around this cycle and am trying to enjoy the TTC journey. I've mentally decided that I'm going to give myself 4 months and read enough research that says it doesn't imply anything is wrong if it doesn't happen first month. I've started chatting about baby names and what we will do with the nursery and getting excited which has kinda changed my outlook. I don't think it increases odds of getting pg by having sex less (unless OH has low sperm count) me and DP weren't even trying last time and were pulling out but it only takes one little swimmer. Look after your mental health and do whatever you think will make this whole process more bareable for you. Sending you lots of love xx

nizo1245 · 25/04/2020 10:11

Thanks @SmileyT definitely no chance I'm still pregnant, I passed the fetus. It was very small.
The midwife didn't confirm (she didn't actually say much which is annoying...) but I think it had stopped growing at 6 or 7 weeks. Nothing was formed at all when it came out, could make out the head but not much else.

I'll test again on Monday with the same brand and hopefully get a negative. I've never wanted to see a negative pregnancy test as badly as I do now!

Now that I think back I had lower back pain at about 7 weeks but thought nothing of it as had no bleeding or other symptoms.

I'm going to be so paranoid about the slightest little niggle the next time.

SmileyT · 25/04/2020 10:11

@Hayleylou89 I've read good reviews about Ava bracelet but don't have one myself x

SmileyT · 25/04/2020 10:16

@nizo1245 sorry I meant chance you could have caught again but just checked my calendar and Easter wasn't as long ago as I'm thought 🤦🏾‍♀️ yeah test with the same brand and hopefully it gets lighter. I think a few of us had pretty shoddy experiences with the midwives/ Drs not explaining much but this is a good forum to share any concerns, and like you said can call the pregnancy unit for reassurance aswell and get another scan if it doesn't go negative to check for retained product as although foetus may have passed sometimes there is other product from conception left.

Isittimeforbubblesyet · 25/04/2020 10:24

AF has arrived today so its CD1 for me. It's my 5th since the MC so hoping it will be more 'normal' this month. I really want some blood tests done as I'm worried my hormones are not balanced but nothing will be done while covid-19 is about. Trying to naturally increase progesterone but I dont find it easy.

@SmileyT let me know how you go! Starting from the static face makes sense. I am due to ovulate on what would have been my due date but will try and make the best of the situation.

@Renna my temp dropped yesterday and then increased this morning so Confused I only starting temping last month so will see what happens this cycle.

@nizo1245 sorry to hear about your loss. It's just such a horrible thing to go through. I was pretty much sent on my way after the MC was confirmed and told not to take a test for 3 weeks. It was negative but I was still bleeding and another scan confirmed I had 'retained products' (horrible term, sorry) so definitely call the doctor to help put your mind at rest Flowers

Hope everyone else is doing ok this morning

Renna · 25/04/2020 10:32

@SmileyT thanks hun sending love to you too xx that's a good way of thinking about it all xx we were like that before MC but since MC it's like we avoid talking about baby names nursery etc and when we talk about having a baby we say IF we have a baby rather than when ... think we feel like were protecting ourselves mentally and protecting each other. Maybe we need to change this mindset and back to how we were before MC.
Yeah I dont know if DH has low sperm count maybe he does and that's why we got pg when we DTD less that month and not other months when weve done it a lot more. Could also ofc be a coincidence and something else I'm looking into too much xx
Funny how the men say come off MN lol I do get it but I actually feel like you're my friends . I've tried talking to some of my girls in my whqtsapp group about how I'm feeling but I barely get much of a response they just dont get it xx I'll probs come on here less but after chatting to some of you for like a month now I want to see you get your BFPs and share with you when I get mine 🌈💙 xx

Donnat89 · 25/04/2020 10:54

Morning ladies hope you are all well , CD3 today and AF seems to have pretty
Much stopped so super light one this time , but glad it's over .

Xxxx

SmileyT · 25/04/2020 11:12

@Renna yeah I totally get the whole MN thing but I think it was me getting consumed rather than the thread 🙈 I think it's to be expected the first few months after a MC we are still mourning a future we dreamed of. I was on another thread and a lady that had a molar pregnancy and then had therapy gave some really good advice. Whatever will happen will happen but you can either accept you will be miserable throughout or enjoy every second. Much like falling in love I took the risk that I'll get hurt but I couldn't spend my whole life waiting for that to happen. I've decided I'm going to enjoy the journey, I'm not going to test early because that isn't good for my mental health, I'm going to carry on tracking ovulation and BBT but I'm just going to remind myself that there is no magic formula to getting pg or everybody would do it first month. I will take my temp, do an LH test and then get on with the rest of my day 😊 obviously I'll still have crappy days but I'm going to try. Maybe take a few days and then see how you feel. The odds say one of us have got to get pg this month so need to see those BFPs and celebrate the wins 🥳 xx

Semele5069 · 25/04/2020 11:30

Hello everyone

Can I join in the thread? I had a miscarriage in January at 7 weeks (first pregnancy) and just had another at 5.5 weeks. This one was easier I think because I hadn't got so excited and was trying not to think about it much until it got further along. Still had a day of crying and feeling v sorry for myself though! A bit worried now whether something is wrong but I don't think there's any point in trying to talk to my GP until after the lockdown. I'm going to try again asap and consoling myself that at least if I do have a third miscarriage in a row the GP will have to refer me for investigations when I see her. I find it really hard to feel hopeful at the minute though!

VP91x · 25/04/2020 12:04

@SmileyT @Renna I agree I really do want to enjoy the experience of hopefully getting pregnant soon. It will be so precious when it does happen so we should enjoy the journey if we can!! Trying to keep positive about everything.

@Semele5069 gosh, I am so incredibly sorry you have had two miscarriages. How are you? I think you should still try and speak to your GP. Regardless of COVID, you should still be listened to. It doesn't negate your current experience and what you are going through. Have you had any advice from your early pregnancy unit? X

Bellabubble · 25/04/2020 12:10

@SmileyT I was similar, I was feeling a bit down as I thought I had tracked well etc etc, and I got so cross as my LH peaked, we dtd, then the next day my temp rose and LH dropped, and I was thinking, hang on, I’m meant to be most fertile the day of and after a peak and yet everything shows me I already ovulated!! So OH and I decided to chill on the tracking this month, and just dtd lots the week natural cycles says I’m most fertile but without actually tracking! That’s what we did the first time before mc, but post mc I have been so desperate I have been trying to monitor too much I think and making myself stressed!

nizo1245 · 25/04/2020 12:26

@Isittimeforbubblesyet thanks. I think I'll leave it til monday morning and phone if I'm still bleeding. She seemed pretty time at the sure that it was a complete miscarriage but also felt like I was being hurried out of the room too. I can kind of understand it, if I was a frontline worker I might be the same.

What happened when they found retained products? Did you need surgery?

Kangaroo77 · 25/04/2020 12:27

Hello ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining. Sorry to read all the recent losses :(

I terminated mid March at 16 weeks for Trisomy 9 and lots of abnormalities. It's my second termination for medical reasons in 4 pregnancies so quite unlucky! Both flukes and also several years apart (first baby had Trisomy 13). I seem to fall pregnant and hang on to babies, healthy or not. I've never miscarried, but getting to surgical termination stage is also really tough, so weirdly, I wish I could miscarry the unhealthy ones if that makes sense.

Just starting my first cycle post termination. I'm planning on trying after this but am naturally nervous. I'm 42 and I'm taking COq10 supplements for egg quality, vitamin D spray and prenatal jellies. Fingers crossed for us all xxxx

SmileyT · 25/04/2020 12:56

@Bellabubble It's such a small window isn't it? Your surge can come up as short as 24hrs before ovulation and can be fertile for as short as 12hrs post ovulation. So even if you catch the surge in the 1st hour you can have as short as 36hrs in total. But yours makes sense, LH rise showed ovulation was due to happen and temp rise shows that ovulation had happened. So you would've been most fertile the day of surge and the day of temp rise so you did the right thing 👌🏾 Definitely good to take a more relaxed view and remember that stress doesn't help our little eggs ❤️

@Kangaroo77 sorry you find yourself here and what you've been through, hoping that your next pregnancy is a happy and healthy one xx

VP91x · 25/04/2020 15:28

@Donnat89 nice that you have had a nice short time of it. How are you feeling?

@Kangaroo77 sorry that you had to make a decision to terminate for a second time. That cannot be easy at all. How are you? I hope that this cycle is kind to you and you get a BFP. Xx

Donnat89 · 25/04/2020 16:04

@VP91x yes I'm feeling ok slightly worried AF was so short as it's now
Completely stopped and CP is high can't even feel it , but will see what this cycle brings ! X

VP91x · 25/04/2020 16:14

@Donnat89 you might still get some spotting over the next day or so. It shouldn't be a concern though should it? I havent read up about short periods x

Donnat89 · 25/04/2020 16:50

@VP91x I'm really not sure if I'm honest lots of places say different things so just gonna see how next cycle goes xxx
