I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

@SmileyT well going by my app, 14DPO but very likely to be off. It was like first day of AF. So odd! Yeah, if AF hasn't properly come after CD28 I will give my docs a ring to see if it's caused by anything xx

Dipsy77 · 21/04/2020 18:36

Let's hope we get some BFPs this month I'm hoping AF finishes in the next few days so I can start trying again x

SmileyT · 21/04/2020 18:44

@VP91x is it femometer you are using? Yeah I'm sure it's nothing but always nice to just check in with a dr if you're worried.

@Dipsy77 I'm with you on waiting for AF to be over so we can get on with TTC.

This TTC lark really makes you wish your life away, I'm CD3 and just waiting for CD8 so I can start opk testing then I'll wish the next week away waiting for my peak then I'll wish the TWW away 😩

VP91x · 21/04/2020 18:53

@SmileyT yeah, I am using femometer. Definitely agree with you I am also wishing the days away,

Mommybear05 · 21/04/2020 19:26

@vp91x it’s been good today thanks. He hasn’t even asked for a feed not once. I was never willing to wean to ttc before but I really don’t think he’s too bothered now. Tonight his dad is putting him to sleep again and he’s giggling and happy. He is 17 months now. Part of me wanted to feed for longer definitely but I really feel it’s best for my family to wean now. We want two more kids in an ideal world so we want to get a move on! He asked a couple of times yesterday but distracting him was so easy. And today he hasn’t been asking at all. His dad is going to put him to bed each night until the middle of May so we can break the habit and then I will take over again. It’s bittersweet but I’m so determined to give him a sibling now. Problem is I don’t think I’ll take it well this month if I get a bfn after weaning 😔 I really hope I can conceive this month. I’m on the ttc vitamins and also vitex to help regulate cycles. Hubby on ttc vitamins too. And we got the preseed lube on the way from amazon. Will be dtd at least every other day all cycle. Can’t do any more than that 🤷‍♀️ I worked it out and my 12 week scan would be around July if I conceive around now. I turn 30 that month. It would be nice to have the scan around my 30th. But I’m daydreaming now. Does anyone else do that? Think about how you will do things if you conceive this month? I really shouldn’t get my hopes up! Xx

Sho2207 · 21/04/2020 19:41

Hey! Hope it's ok to jump on.
I miscarried nearly 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks pregnant, the day after seeing the heartbeat. So it wasn't nice to get my hopes up for the next day to be a flow of blood😔.
Took a preg test yesterday and was the faintest line so hormone is nearly out my system. Shall I start testing now for ovulation? I did one today and the second line was visible enough for me to think ovulation could be coming over the next few days.
Me and partner want to start trying straight away, this is our second miscarriage, so we just want to get straight to it now. Xx

VP91x · 21/04/2020 20:21

@Mommybear05 that is fantastic news!! So good that at the moment your partner is home to do all the bedtimes that will definitely help! I am so pleased for you. Hopefully this will continue and you can feel more yourself with your cycle and have your rainbow baby that will just be the best. Is this the first month that you have taken the vitamins? Yes, I thought that. If I had conceived this cycle it would have been the same month I fell pregnant with my little girl and so they would have had really close birthdays! I think about star signs and what the weather will be like for their birthday, its so easy to get lost in building a future already xx

Mommybear05 · 21/04/2020 21:17

@Sho2207 hello welcome to the thread. Sorry for your losses. I don’t blame you for wanting to ttc straight away. I didn’t take a break either. Two weeks post mc you could be ovulating so yes I would take the opks if that’s what you want to do. Good luck!
@vp9x1 aw I get that too if we conceived last month I would have had another December baby. I also think of the weather. I want winter babies. I don’t fancy being heavily pregnant in summer! But of course any time would be a blessing x

Sho2207 · 21/04/2020 21:21

@Mommybear05
Thank you! I'll keep testing then ☺️ xx

HE88 · 21/04/2020 22:46

Hi @SmileyT and all you other lovely ladies. I'm going to jump on this thread too as af got me last night would you count that as cycle day 1 then?
This is my 3rd cycle since mmc back in February but my 2nd cycle of properly ttc. My plan was to follow SMEP that cycle but didn't really work out so I'm going to try and stick to it this cycle as this is what I did the cycle I fell pregnant.

SmileyT · 22/04/2020 06:08

@HE88 sorry AF got you but you can reset and start again this month. I would count CD1 as whenever AF begins in full flow. I spotted on Saturday but didn't start full bleed until Sunday morning so counted that as CD1.

I'm doing SMEP this month and excited to try it as I've heard loads of success stories 😊 what did you struggle with last month on SMEP?

OP posts:
SmileyT · 22/04/2020 06:13

@Mommybear05 glad the weaning went well yesterday, all sounds like positive steps ❤️

You definitely cannot do more than you are planning for this month, every other day throughout the month is going to give you as good a chance as anything.

I'm definitely a daydreamer it's really bad but as soon as AF started I was looking up the due date and thinking about how I'd feel at Xmas being heavily pregnant seeing all my extended family just before I give birth. But then I try and pull myself back and remember that it doesn't matter what month it happens ( but I want it now 😩)

OP posts:
HE88 · 22/04/2020 07:32

Hi @SmileyT thanks its a fresh start. I'm going to count Monday as cycle day 1 as it was a proper flow it was just because it started later on at night it threw me a bit.

Oh good luck with SMEP as I said I was successful when I first used it fingers crossed. For us last cycle we only managed to dtd on day of positive opk and not the 2 days after also we weren't very active that cycle. My head just wasn't in a good place and couldn't really be bothered. Hopefully better luck this cycle for us though. What cycle day are you on? Xx

Mommybear05 · 22/04/2020 08:06

@SmileyT thank you I think it’s genuinely really helping me to have people cheering me on with the weaning lol. You get all these conflicting feelings but it’s so good just to be reminded I’m doing the right thing. haha yes I keep thinking if I’m heavily pregnant at Christmas we can go to moms for dinner and I won’t have to cook! 🙈 getting carried away again! How are you feeling today?

@he88 hey I would count yesterday as cycle one :) is that plan you talk about the one where you do it every other day and then every day around ovulation?? Fingers crossed for you this month third cycle lucky 🍀🤞 xxx

VP91x · 22/04/2020 08:44

Ah @Mommybear05 when I was PG I cooked Christmas dinner for 16 people at 39 weeks!! I was clearly losing it 😂😂 my thought process was I would rather be at home than travel to my sisters a couple of hours away. Bonkers xx

MrsLBear · 22/04/2020 08:58

Hi ladies
Hope I can join. Recognise some of you from other threads.
On cycle 12 and think I'm 1dpo but my temp in the next few days will confirm hopefully.
(Mmc feb 2019)
@smileyt I think it's impossible not to daydream about the what ifs. I was convinced I was pg last month (as well as all the previous months 🙁) and the "due date" would of been DH birthday so was planning how to tell him by including that. Trying to keep level this month.

SmileyT · 22/04/2020 16:07

@Mommybear05 I literally thought the exact same thing about cooking at Christmas, my mum is veggie but invites over 30 odd meat eating family for Xmas dinner so I'm always over there from 5am sorting stuff out I could do with a year off, I'd probably still get a pass if I was 7 months aswell though 🤞 how you feeling today? My period appears to be stopping just as DP is about to start his night shifts 🙄

You are so right @MrsLBear I think without hope this journey becomes even harder I'm only on CD4 of cycle 2 and it still feels hard, definitely not made easier by lockdown 😕 Fingers crossed this is your month and you don't have to do another month of dreaming 🌈

OP posts:
HE88 · 22/04/2020 19:06

@Mommybear05 yeah that's right so you start dtd on cycle day 8 then every other day up to positive opk day, you dtd that day, the day after and then the day after that. Then have a rest for 1 day then 1 more day of dtd. It also says to start opk testing on cycle day 10.
Hope explained it OK ha ha xx

ttcin2020 · 22/04/2020 19:20

Hii everyone.. Any thoughts on this OPK chart and my sticks?
Friday will be 4 weeks since my miscarriage started.. my HCG was 29 on the 13th and I got a negative IC test on the 15th, a very faint line appeared a while out of the time but I got a definite negative a day or two later.
Just can't imagine I could've ovulated before my hcg hit 0? And I know hcg interferes with the OPK but I can't understand why I still don't seem to be showing any signs of ovulation/getting a period 😩 my boobs normally increase hugely and are ridiculously painful spot on a week before my period comes.
I know being my first cycle post mc I should just write it off but this "you'll be most fertile straight away" that everyone keeps telling me and two family members and a close friend having fallen pregnant in the first cycle is turning me crazy!

@MrsLBear hello and so sorry for your loss. I hope you see your bfp soon! Aw that’s a shame to think it would have been his birthday. Keep the faith though. I let myself daydream about these things. It will happen for us 🤞🌈 xx

Mommybear05 · 22/04/2020 19:35

@VP91x ha. To be fair at 39 weeks I did have lots of mates over and cooked Mexican food. It was last time I saw them before he was born so we told them all the name we had chosen etc. It was lovely. But my family are fussy over me they would never let me! 🤞 for January babies ❄️ Be nice to look forward to in the new year xxx

MrsLBear · 22/04/2020 19:36

@smileyt thank you and you too!! I know lock down has sent me into a frenzy even more cos I have so much more time on my hands (I'm self employed so can't work at all). Someone on here suggested I busy myself more to stop thinking about it - obviously I don't want to dwell on it all but there's only so much you can fill your day with at home. What cd are you? Do you temp etc?
I've never done SMEP not sure DH could do 3 days on the trot. We did 2 days this month and that's a rarity 😂 every other day is more do-able for us. Let us know how you get on with it though!!

Mommybear05 · 22/04/2020 19:37

@SmileyT yes this year just gone I had everyone over and one or two were so ungrateful though. We had a bit of a rubbish Christmas and this year so far hasn’t been too great either to be fair! This year I won’t do any people pleasing!
Can’t you find time to pin him down haha. Amazon confirmed my fertility lube has been dispatched 😏 so excited haha. Just need to pop to the shop for some red wine 🍷 and it’s our time haha! Feeling so determined this month! X

SmileyT · 22/04/2020 20:28

@HE88 sorry totally missed your message before but I'm CD4 so another cycle buddy for me, when do you normally ovulate? Yeah I think it's good to be in the right head zone with it all. Once DTD a task that needs to be done in the day I can imagine it becomes harder but glad you are feeling in a better place.

@ttcin2020 I've read it can be as early as 2 weeks post MC that you can ovulate and that hcg doesn't need to be down to zero as the very low levels don't indicate that your body thinks you are pregnant, some women have AF with hcg still in the system so that would make sense. But I am by no means an expert or Dr this is just what I've read x

@Mommybear05 oh don't worry we will definitely be warming up for fertile week when he's on nights and works quite well as my fertile week think he is off pretty much all week. I get in from work around 4.30 now (reduced hours) and he leaves about 6pm so time for a cuddle 😛 I'm really excited to use the lube we have aswell, I'm surprisingly positive tonight and excited for a slightly less anxious full cycle.

@MrsLBear I'll definitely let you know how I get on with SMEP, thought I'd give it a go and stick to the letter and then we'll take it from there. I'm a bit of a psycho at the moment so temping, using about 5 apps, using cheap opks, CB connected, preseed, concieve plus and a load of vitamins 🙈 at least I can't say I haven't tried at the end of the month. I'm CD4 and getting excited for fertile week. Have you got some stuff to distract you in TWW?
