TTC after miscarriage - May 2020

SmileyT · 19/04/2020 07:44

I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

My epu just rang there (when I was going through my last miscarriage they wouldn’t see me cause I wasn’t haemorrhaging and I had to book a private scan to confirm, my mc before that was so early on that a scan wouldn’t of confirmed anything for me)
But they said they just wanted to check up on me and said if I fall pregnant again they will see me at 6 weeks and continue to monitor me more closely and that I’m fine to start trying again now before waiting on af to show and to continue taking my vitamins and folic. So a bit reassuring that they will Help me more next time around. Awk yea I know there shouldn’t be anything wrong with either of us but it’s still so hard staying positive and not thinking the worse. Fingers crossed I get my BFP in 3/4 weeks x

Hayleylou89 · 04/05/2020 14:28

@Renna @2020wish Yes def make sure they stay away from actual steriods as they do kill sperm off x but the hcg is just enhancing whats there already x x

Renna · 04/05/2020 14:38

@Hayleylou89 I've just realised the thing DH been taking isnt actually testosterone.. lol its called testo max its like a supplement with all natural ingredients to encourage normal levels of testosterone not actually adding any more to his body. I've realised the injections are like steroids arent they . So it's a different thing . Probably cant even get testosterone in a pill form .. shows how little I know. So probably isnt anything to do with what I saw online .. still gonna get him to lay off those ones though in case 🙄🤷‍♀️ xx

Hayleylou89 · 04/05/2020 14:43

@Renna Yea i mean if u got pg without all that first time then ull be fine... I dnt know if the hcg did help us last time as he tried it and that month we were pregnant but we had also only just started trying so who knows what it was we done right... i know i wasnt stressy over it and only dtd twice like u in the fertile window, so im def trying that approach this month altho bit more dtd (just incase) but im not pestering him all day everyday like i was last month then getting moody when hes struggling .... no way xx

SmileyT · 04/05/2020 16:22

Hi ladies 👋 Hope everyone has had a good day, I was actually busy at work today meaning no real time to think about ttc but home now and loads of time to think as DP is heading out for a night shift at 6.

Interesting to read about hcg and testosterone injections never really considered any of this but don't think DP would be keen for either. Good that I see you ladies are keeping busy, I'm now 2dpo and I'm adamant that I will stay relaxed this TWW... bit of cooking, meditation and a busy work diary will hopefully get me through.

@Bells993 hopefully it is good news, if you tested with the same brand last time and it was negative it's a good sign as that test isn't even very faint 🤞

Hey @SmileyT glad you are well. Ah, get a boxset going or a bath etc as you said! The evening will pass, I am sure these two weeks will go by fairly quickly.

Not going to lie was glad to be back POAS today 😂xx

yoomoo · 04/05/2020 20:45

Evening all, hope you are all doing well. Congrats to the BFPs, love seeing the tests Smile

So I’ve had a bit of a revelation today looking back on my Ovia app and a realisation that the vitamins I started taking at the end of February might have delayed ovulation and therefore extended my cycle 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve been taking COQ10 and DHEA and from googling there are some people who have found ovulation delayed. Looking back I had ovulation pains on CD24 on 22nd March, we only DTD that day so must’ve been when I conceived. No wonder I didn’t get a positive until I was a week late on my ‘usual’ 28 day cycle, I would’ve only been 12DPO!
Looks like I’ve actually extended to 38 days... anyway CD24 today and I’ve had the same ovulation pains that I had in March! I’ve told DP he’s got a job to do tonight so we’ll see Grin
Guess I’ll be starting my TWW tomorrow!

Hayleylou89 · 04/05/2020 21:29

Hey @yoomoo good luck tonight!! 🌈 do u not use opks to track ovulation atall? X

yoomoo · 04/05/2020 21:44

@Hayleylou89 I did last cycle when I fell pregnant, started on day 8 with a clearblue digital got all the way to day 18 with flashy smiley faces and got bored Grin no wonder it never went static. I have only just made the connection with the vitamins so would’ve kept doing OPKs if I’d figured it out back in March- annoyed with myself now! I’ve got a pack of 50 cheap tests, did a few around CD 12-14 but got bored of not getting any result Grin

I don’t think OPKs are for me unless they are the FMU easy digital ones!

It also means that I was just under 5 weeks when I miscarried, feel like a donut now telling my GP I was 6 weeks based on LMP 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hayleylou89 · 05/05/2020 06:16

@yoomoo so frustrating sometimes arnt they!! I got myself in a tizz last cycle and started the cb ones too early as i was scared to miss my ovulation or i just thought i mightn't ovulate for some stupid reason or incase it was earlier than expected but it wasnt, my cycle went back to normal and i had about 2 weeks of flashies and went onto a second pack of cb sticks then got my static, finally!... but this month im not stressing like that im planning on starting my cb sticks on monday around 5 days before predicted ovulation and then midweek this week ill start doing the cheapies as i have had a few cycles that have varied 3-5 days earlier than my more normal 38 day cycle x x hope u managed to dtd 🙏🌈 x

yoomoo · 05/05/2020 07:37

Good idea @Hayleylou89 it’s all so frustrating isn’t it! I wish I was better at the IC as they are much cheaper than the digital version but I think that’s the way forward for me, even though I’m permanently working from home I still kept forgetting to wee in a cup but I seem to remember first thing!
Which day do you usually ovulate on during a 38 day cycle?
I couldn’t believe it when I worked out it was CD24 last month and that must’ve been when we conceived, Mother’s Day ironically Hmm
At least I’ll know again this month that I’m on 1DPO today and to wait a little while for testing. According to Ovia (now I’ve changed my cycle length!) AF is due on 19th May. I will try not to test before then but I probably will 😂 now it’s onto symptom spotting and trying not to get stressed.

We did Grin but I’m a bit annoyed with myself that I figured it all out too late as could’ve done it over the weekend too! Never mind it only takes one time as we got told at school, btw anyone else laugh when remembering the lectures we used to get as teenagers on how easy it is to fall pregnant, the reality is quite different right?!

Ejb86 · 05/05/2020 08:24

Morning ladies. I'm pretty much recovered from the bout of tonsillitis I've had. I'm on cd9 today, because AF goes really well with tonsillitis!

Since losing the girls, AF has generally lasted for 3 days. This month she lasted 5 days with a bit of spotting on day 6. This has to be good news, right?

yoomoo · 05/05/2020 09:02

Glad you are better @Ejb86 yes I think 5 days is the average, that’s how long mine last which I’ve always thought was pretty normal. The way I see it that’s a good amount of time to clear all the old stuff away ready for the new cycle!

Ejb86 · 05/05/2020 09:27

Thanks @yoomoo. All I need now is a luteal phase that lasts longer than 5 days! Ha

VP91x · 05/05/2020 10:22

Morning @Ejb86 glad you are feeling better! Yeah 6 days is good that's normally what I have. Day 6 is normally just finishing and very light. I'm sure that now your periods are getting more like before your LP will regulate itself too! Xx

Hayleylou89 · 05/05/2020 14:03

@Ejb86 glad ur feeling better

@VP91 why is a 6 day af good? Mine was 6 days instead of the usual 4 is that a good thing is it? Xx and why? X

TerribleImagination · 05/05/2020 14:54

@Ejb86 Have you tried B6 for your luteal phase?

Renna · 05/05/2020 15:10

Hi ladies xx
Glad you're feeling better @Ejb86
Anyone tried evening primrose oil?
I should get my peak reading tomorrow or maybe the next day so ovulating in next couple days .. I think my CM is a bit more watery but I just dont know I cant tell and if I get EWCM .. it's not obvious to me any way.. apparently primrose oil can help with CM..? Xx

VP91x · 05/05/2020 15:30

@Hayleylou89 sorry I didn't mean like it was better than having a shorter AF or anything! I just always see 4-6 days as being in the normal range! Xx

Rainbowhope11 · 05/05/2020 16:52

Hi ladies! Congrats to all the lovely ladies that got their Bfps! I'm so thrilled for you all, you give me hope 😊

So I had my blood tests done again yesterday and my Hcg levels are at 10. They want to repeat one last time to make sure that it goes down to 5 or below. I've started bleeding/spotting 4 days ago, so I'm just going to count that as my period. It's extremely light though, but according to my app, my period is right on schedule. It's been such a long 6 weeks waiting for my Hcg levels to drop, but I'm hoping that everything is okay now and I can finally move forward and try again properly.

HE88 · 05/05/2020 18:08

Hi @rainbowhope11 I never got my hcg levels checked after mmc is 10 a good number?
I had lots of days spotting on the lead up to af then when on af it was quite light too. I would maybe class it as your period then if its been a proper flow of bleeding. Xx

SmileyT · 05/05/2020 18:24

@Ejb86 glad you are feeling better and can focus on a fresh month x

@Renna I've heard good things about primrose oil for CM, this month I just had one blob of EWCM and never in my life have I noticed it before. How much water do you drink? As I tried increasing mine and it seems to filter into CM

@Rainbowhope11 so good they are staying so close to your levels, I didn't have mine checked over afterwards but at least you can have peace of mind everything is doing what it should, all ready for a new month ❤️

Ejb86 · 05/05/2020 18:30

@TerribleImagination I think I'm going to leave it a while before I interfere by adding anything extra into my body. At the end of the day, my body thinks I gave birth to 2 babies 7 months ago. And I did. Can't really blame it for thinking it isn't ready.

Renna · 05/05/2020 18:36

@SmileyT I may give it a go next cycle if not lucky this cycle. Not sure. Yeah I read about increasing water.. I normally drink a fair amount but find wfh I surprisingly drink less ... and I'm also holding urine today to test later for my second IC of the day... cant win 😂🙄 xx
How are you today? X x

SmileyT · 05/05/2020 18:56

@Renna yeah I've already started researching extra supplements for next month 🤣 think I'm going to go with calc flour and some fish oil tablets. In general I'm feeling surprisingly calm, it's actually kinda confusing. I'm 3dpo and actually not yearning for the end of the TWW, I just keep thinking that whatever happens stressing and symptom spotting over the next 2 weeks is only going to be negative so why bother. What CD are you on now? Getting excited for the peak? xx
