TTC after miscarriage - May 2020

SmileyT · 19/04/2020 07:44

I'm CD1 of cycle 2 TTC #1 so thought I'd start a new thread for anybody in the same situation who didn't get their April BFP.

I had a MMC found on a scan at 9.5weeks after seeing HB at 7 weeks 🙁 I had SMM on the 19th March but no luck in my first month and AF got me today. Normal cycles are 28days so I hope to be testing around the 20th May. This month I will be tracking ovulation using CB connected and trying out Preseed for the first time hoping this helps towards my 🌈 but tonight I'll just be having a G&T 💁🏾‍♀️

@Ejb86 eek!! I hope you feel better soon having tonsillitis is rotten! Look after yourself xx

TerribleImagination · 27/04/2020 22:38

@Ejb86 Aw you poor thing! I used to get tonsillitis every year and sometimes it was similar to you now, very flu like! I had it so badly in Malawi once, that everyone thought I had malaria! 😂

Wishing you better! Those antibiotics will do their thing soon I’m sure!

Sallyjo27 · 28/04/2020 09:07

Hi all, hope your all okay and not too fed up with lockdown- if in the uk!

I’ve had a break for a while, been patiently waiting for AF. Finally CD1 today after 38 days. Usually my cycle is 31. Going to start temping every morning this cycle and will be testing using CB and IC. Fingers crossed for us all we get out 2021 🌈babies
@Ejb86 I hope you get well soon! Tonsillitis is so painful xx

SmileyT · 28/04/2020 12:11

@Sallyjo27 hope this cycle is a little bit shorter and less stressful than last cycle for you. I'm also tracking using CB and ic, how many are you planning to do of each per day? I'm confident that we will all get our 2021 🌈 xx

OP posts:
Sallyjo27 · 28/04/2020 17:06

@SmileyT I think I’ll use the IC until I can see the lines becoming a slight bit darker then I’ll use CB and the IC too. I usually ovulate on day 17-19 so may do one in the evening then too, what about you?

SmileyT · 28/04/2020 17:40

I ovulated CD18 straight after MC but normal cycles are 28days so guessing it will be around CD14 but I'd never tracked ovulation before so who knows.

I started ic on CD5 (as I was curious) and CB on CD9, doing CB in the morning and ic in the afternoon now. I'm CD10 and CB is showing ⭕️ so think when that turns to flashy I'll add in another ic at night. How are you finding temping? This month mine looks a lot more stable then it did last month xx

Sallyjo27 · 28/04/2020 19:29

That’s a good idea, I’ve got to be honest I’m forgetting 😂
I use natural cycles and I have for over 2 years although at the beginning it was as a contraceptive and it worked brilliantly. I used to temp every morning apart from the odd weekend. However now- especially as I’m only working in school when I’m on the rota I’m finding it hard I’ve got an alarm as a reminder that I’m going to be using from tomorrow though xx

Mommybear05 · 28/04/2020 22:16

Hi girls just updating. Seems many of us are waiting for our fertile window now. Good luck to everyone this cycle! Cycle day 15 here. Yesterday at cd 14 I had a sharp twinge on my left side low toward my hip bone. Could be ovulation maybe? Trying not to symptom spot anyway. Maybe it is maybe it isn’t 🤷‍♀️ This month so far been using the pre seed would really recommend for those who haven’t tried it we’ve been enjoying 😉😉. I’ll let you know if it actually works haha. I’m not tracking any opks or temperature this month and I’m not even checking cm either. Just counting cycle days with reg sex and chilling. I have to say I feel so much better for it ❤️😊

SmileyT · 28/04/2020 22:28

@Sallyjo27 I've set an alarm for 5.45am every morning 😴 damn OH and his early shifts mean I have to go with this time to ensure consistency, but most days I get a couple hours after aswell.

@Mommybear05 so happy to hear that you are feeling positive. We used preseed tonight for the first time this cycle but I was feeling super lazy and didn't bother with the applicator, big mistake 😂 Sharp twinge on one side definitely sounds like ovulation but I bets its nice not knowing when you ovulated so no official TWW. Hope LO is still doing well with daddy bedtimes xx

Morning ladies, sorry was so quiet yesterday, was feeling rotten with my period and just generally feeling crap about lockdown!

Are we all from the UK here? Im in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. 😊

CD3 here now.

@SmileyT how are you getting on?
@Mommybear05 yay for pre-seed! Glad that you are feeling so much more relaxed sounds like you will have a great month with it so far.

@Sallyjo27 pleased that you are back on CD1 so that you have a fresh start. I have started temping this cycle too and going to use the IC and CB to see if I can pinpoint OV this month too.

@Ejb86 how are you feeling with the tonsillitis xx

tryingtimes20 · 29/04/2020 07:09

Good morning ladies, hopefully you can give me a bit of reassurance/encouragement. Sadly had a MMC around three weeks' ago at around 9-10w (HB stopped within a few days of this time, so no significantly delayed growth). With the current circumstances re. COVID, I was extremely lucky to get an ERPC scheduled very soon after on 15/04.

I'm now a fortnight post-op and although I thought the bleeding was tailing off a few days' ago, I've had a small recurrence of some darker red blood, and there is some pinkish-red when I wipe. I know that I'm probably still well within the realms of normal recovery, but I'm keen to see an end to this! Not experiencing any pain/smells, so don't believe I have an infection. Queries with EPU/GP have basically been answered with all sounds well and to keep waiting it out. 10mIU pregnancy tests are still getting a positive, although it does appear to be getting fainter.

Can anyone else give me their experiences bleeding post-ERPC and how long it took for their period to resume? I'm hoping I'll be one of the lucky ones and it will be here in mid-May.

VP91x · 29/04/2020 07:30

Morning @tryingtimes20

Sorry that you are going through this especially with everything going on ❤️

I had a bit of a different experience after my ERPC as my bleeding stopped after a day or so but then came back after a few days with heavier bleeding and some clots with lots of pain on my lower tummy (very tender etc). Following scan showed retained tissue which then passed a week or so later. Bleeding then stopped a week or so after that (so probably 3 weeks after initial procedure).

I think if the bleeding isn't heavy or clots etc then if it hasn't stopped again in a few days then contact EPU again. Hopefully it stops soon for you and you can get your normal cycle back. Xx

SmileyT · 29/04/2020 07:50

@VP91x sorry you were feeling rotten but beginning of a new cycle and hopefully AF will get gone very soon so you can start checking for ovulation, you normally ovulate quite early so I think you'll catch me up for the TWW. I'm from Essex but now live in North London (Enfield).

I'm all good apart from I'm on my 3rd day of blank circles on the CB so I'm getting worried I won't ovulate (although I know there is plenty of time) need to take my own advice and stay relaxed. Hope you are feeling better today xx

@tryingtimes20 I'm so sorry for your loss. 2 weeks after my SMM in March I was still getting a very faint positive but my period returned 31 days after the surgery. I was nearly 10 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 7w5 so my hcg may have been lower. I had bleeding for about a week and it was a bit on and off ( it would be triggered by sex or light exercise) so hopefully yours subsides soon. I think my EPU said that if I still had a positive after 3 weeks to go back but I didn't do another test after the v faint positive.

Quail15 · 29/04/2020 08:04

@SmileyT I'm on the 3rd day of blank circles on my clearblue as well. It's frustrating but I know I probably won't ovulate until the weekend. Fingers crossed you get your smiley face soon.

VP91x · 29/04/2020 08:07

@SmileyT oh we are so close, I'm just in Cheshunt 😊 although I grew up in Enfield.

Thank you, did wake up more positive this mornjng. I was just having loads of cramping and being moody! Haha. Poor partner had to put up with me. You will definitely get your flashing smiley. What cycle day are you on now?

Xx

tryingtimes20 · 29/04/2020 08:16

@VP91x and @SmileyT thank you for the kind words and sharing your experiences. I think I will wait a bit more, and either call on Friday or Monday if it doesn't stop again. I started exercising again over the weekend and that didn't seem to make any bleeding happen (I was down to brown drops by then), but then just randomly over past 24h had some of this dark red come out. Very annoying!

Hopefully not TMI question, but when do you think it's okay to resume sex? I had hoped (with everything seemed to have stopped) that it might have been alright tomorrow, but now I think I'll need to hold off again. This is also making me quite sad as haven't been intimate with hub since I got my positive.

Lynz2020 · 29/04/2020 08:27

Hi, I'm looking for advice to see if anyone has had the same thing. I miscarried 2 weeks ago at a day before 12 weeks and there was no heartbeat at 8 weeks, for the past week I've had a slight pinkish discharge (tmi) that's a bit metallic in odour. I rang the gp incase I had a uti and they gave me 3 days of antibiotics as they aren't seeing anyone face to face, this is my last day of them but I'm still getting it. Has anyone had this issue? Im looking to ttc straight away.

Hayleylou89 · 29/04/2020 08:38

@renna wow i didnt even use mumsnet yesterday and didnt realise...thats a good thing as im not really thinking about it much at the min ...no point until next week when ill start opking! Hoping my ava arrives today AF full stopped last night so that was cd 6 which is a bit longer than my normal period but yest was more just tail end off it, is that classed as spotting if it doesnt go on a pad and is just on wiping mostly? (Sorry tmi) i just want to make sure im logging it right.

@VP91x Hey, from Liverpool ...where is everyone else from? Xx

2020wish · 29/04/2020 08:47

Can I join . Confirmed mc yesterday after bleeding for 5 days. Bleeding has stopping and hcg back to normal. Started temping today and going to use opks x

VP91x · 29/04/2020 08:51

Hi @Lynz2020 have you contacted your EPU? Or did your GP give you any further advice? The general advice to me was to contact my EPU if anything was unusual for me or if bleeding persisted. I would definitely speak to them again if it is still happening. Hope you are feeling okay, so sorry for your loss xxx

VP91x · 29/04/2020 08:54

Welcome @2020wish so sorry that you are going through a loss. How are you? Xx

@tryingtimes20 The exercise still might have irritated something and caused extra bleeding. So hard to see what's going on when it is all internal isn't it 😔. Definitely contact them if it gets heavier or continues and get the proper advice from them.

I would think that once your bleeding has completely stopped you are fine to start having sex again. Completely normal to want that intimacy again. Xx

Renna · 29/04/2020 09:02

I'm from Essex 😁 , was born in West London but moved to Essex when I was a bubba.

@Hayleylou89 that's good, I'm kinda the same thinking about TTC and everything less and feel like I'm not being a crazy lady but then lead up to fertile week is the easiest time not to be crazy lady lol . TWW is the hard part . 🤣 I'm CD5 now CB App telling me to start testing this friday but dont expect to see my peak until end of next week really. So not sure whether to bother starting testing Friday or maybe wait until like sunday/Monday. Think its because my last cycle was like 26 days so it's getting me to start testing incase I get a peak around CD12 I guess...

AF stopped for me on CD3 and was tail end too and barely any bleeding . For me I'd record it as light bleed tail end of AF rather than spotting ...but I'm no expert lol.

I have a bit of a funny intimate question .. yesterday I saw something online saying it's best for the woman to orgasm after the man has when TTC .... does anyone do this !? .. like I'd say 99% of the time we DTD.. DH makes sure I orgasm ... then he later does ... the other 1% is the odd time I dont actually orgasm but this is rare to be fair ... like I just cant imagine it happening the other way around... once he is done you cant really carry on DTD .. unless you do something else .. ? 🤣 this is just for giggles really as sounds like another wives tale and I'm not really prepared to start suppressing my orgasms ... 🤣🤣🤣 xx

TerribleImagination · 29/04/2020 09:04

@VP91 I’m in Stockport (just outside of Manchester) but grew up in Essex! I used to go to Cheshunt a lot when I was dating someone in Hoddesdon! He was an absolute bell-end though 😂

Welcome to the all the new ladies 👋🏻 I’m so so sorry you all find yourselves here, but you’re in good company ❤️

Renna · 29/04/2020 09:10

@tryingtimes20 sorry for your loss hun xx I had surgery back in early march and I had like no bleeding at first and really wanted that intimacy too so was hopefully we could DTD after a few days then got some more heavier bleeding which finally subsided after about a week or so. But then my first AF after MC was coming and I started running again ... and straight agree the run I felt crampy and started bleeding a bit , I actually think it brought on AF . Weird how exercise can do that. I also had a big lump of tissue come out on the first AF was so weird. Like 4 weeks after surgery. Everyone seems to have different stories straight after a loss but the similarity is that it's all unusual for us compared to what we would usually expect , so think it is normal to have on and off bleeding for a while . We DTD as soon as bleeding stopped after a week or so xxxx if it continues deffo call GP.or epu to get some advice /reassurance xxxxx hope it settles for you soon xxx

Lynz2020 · 29/04/2020 09:14

VP91x hi, yea I rang epu on Sunday and they said to ring my gp as it sounded like a uti because I wasn't bleeding so they weren't concerned. Said they didn't want to bring me in for a urine test but if the gp wouldn't do anything they would see me. I might ring them today and say I've been given only 3 days of antibiotics as that doesn't seem like many
