TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Mumlili9 · 25/02/2020 03:22

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

@BMWL aww it's hard isn't it. My friend is 8 months pregnant and I am over the moon for her but I'm also totally gutted and a little bit glad of the lock down so I don't have to visit as I think it would crush me. Fingers crossed that this is your month though x

@mumlili9 my cycles are usually pretty short too- ov between cd10 and 12. I've started taking agnas castus this month on top of coenz 10 and some vitamin b complex so I'm hoping it lengthens it a bit as too early I've read means the egg isn't fully formed. Its supposed to help more with the luteal phase but any balancing of hormones cant be a bad thing. I wonder if it will help with my end of cycle spotting too. Ive worried that my progesterone levels have been lower than they should be.
Either way im pretty sure I ov cd12 so fc this month works! We also followed smep to the dot so can't do anything more.

Other babies are hard- I'm so lucky to have my dd but it all happened so quickly after my ectopic and she was pretty ill the first year I feel I missed out on a lot of it. When I hear someone else is pregnant or had a baby I get the sadness too- joy for them, but its always a reminder that I'm still in the long ttc journey.

Mumlili9 · 11/05/2020 22:40

@Sammyclaire22 yes that's what I read too. It's very worrying. But my main goal is to ovulate on the right side and hold out ovulation until at least cd12 but that's another 3 days I have to get from somewhere. I hope this is your cycle hun x

First time ttc took me 13m (month 12 was the ectopic) so I'm assuming this time will take ages. I think I'm on cycle 9 now? It a hard to keep track when they are shorter. But I have no idea which month is ovulating which side, if I have cramps they seem to happen both sides on and off and if the tube is floating about it might be that that causes some discomfort! I used to think i could guess it but i found its easier now forgetting I only have 1 tube and just doing what we can to maximise our chances each cycle. I've found tracking helped to be sure of my cycle pattern and now I just hope to dtd plenty. From what I read as long as it's 10 days or over it should be ok egg wise, and we will never know the precise hour of ovulation so cd9 might be close enough to 10 which isn't too bad. But I agree another few days takes one worry away! If the next few cycles on agnus seem to be better I will let you know.

I've started dwelling on symptoms already- was hoping not tracking would help but with having dtd more than normal I can't stop the hope building up. I'm only 5dpo too so ages to go! I want to have the willpower to not test early for once- usually I do for a reality check as I get so hopeful even though the chance at best is 30 odd%

@Sammyclaire22 this might be a tmi question but do you chart cm? And if so with all the sex we have during fw how can you tell if you have fertile cm or just left overs from b'ding. I know that sounds like a strange question but it's been bothering me when I come to record cm in my FF app

OP posts:
Sammyclaire22 · 12/05/2020 07:56

@mumlili9 haha dont worry I'm a hcp so bodily stuff doesn't phase me. Yeh I do chart it- I generally check when I'm running my dd bath so it's usually been a while since we dtd plus I think true ewcm is a lot more stretchy and clear. I think it's supposed to stretch an inch or two? Femometer let's you take photos so you could always compare different days if you weren't sure?

Mumlili9 · 12/05/2020 19:03

@Sammyclaire22 thanks I've just down loaded the app and it looks like a really good app too x

Yeh I've ended up using it more than ovia which I've used for years. I paid for the prime upgrade when it was on a big deal so it gives me a monthly analysis. Usually tells me off for something or other though! The intelligent lh detector thing is quite useful too x

Sammyclaire22 · 16/05/2020 08:02

I have a faint second line 🙈 got in a funk last night and tested and saw a very faint one retested today and it's definitely there!

Springandsummer123 · 16/05/2020 08:24

Great news @Sammyclaire22 fingers crossed this is it!!

Mumlili9 · 17/05/2020 17:50

@Sammyclaire22 congratulations 🎊 put a pic up hun xx

I'm cd11 with evil ovulation pains but on the good side so a bit pleased with my self right now 😂

@Springandsummer123 @BMWL how are you ladies doing?

OP posts:
BMWL · 17/05/2020 18:09

Hi @Mumlili9, currently 12dpo and all the tests I've done so far are negative. Praying for a bfp soon.
AF due to show on Tuesday, so let's hope it stays away x

Springandsummer123 · 17/05/2020 18:16

@Mumlili9 I'm CD11 too!!! Been having high fertility on the clear blue for a couple of days as I decided to test early - just waiting for the peak to show. Doing temps for the first time this cycle, had a drop this morning so hoping it's going to increase steadily from tomorrow. Not having pains either side this month so who knows where it's coming from!
Planning on dtd every other day in the hopes we catch it this month. Good luck @Mumlili9 and @BMWL fingers crossed for you. Hope your tests are getting stronger @Sammyclaire22.

Sammyclaire22 · 17/05/2020 18:39

Hah happy to oblige! This is a cheap test so confirms the frer from yesterday and hopefully means they are getting more concentrated. I've had cramps and been crazy tired which is more like I had with my dd so feeling hopeful it's a sticky bean. Just nervous about the first scan- will phone the doctors tomorrow and see if I can use the referral they made back in Feb.
Keep positive girls- I think this was cycle 9 or 10 but the second time I've conceived this time ttc so it really is when not if.
For what it's worth I followed the smep and I've started agnus castus this month along with my Co enzyme 10, no idea if it helped or if I was just lucky. Really hoping you guys follow suit soon!

@Springandsummer123 lol cycle buddies. I too have had high for the last 3 days. My opk have just started to get stronger so hopefully I'll ovulate tomorrow and Fx it's my cycle. I made a wish on a shooting star 2 nights ago so hope it come true

Mumlili9 · 17/05/2020 18:46

@Sammyclaire22 that's amazing news hun and a good line too. How many dpo are you now

OP posts:
Sammyclaire22 · 17/05/2020 18:51

Thanks @mumlilli9, I'm 11dpo now so still a few days before I expect a blazing bfp. It's so weird being happy but also trying not to be as there is a long way to go yet before I feel its a normal pregnancy

Springandsummer123 · 17/05/2020 19:51

Definitely a line @Sammyclaire22!! How exciting for you. Giving us all hope it can happen. X

Ivybutterfly · 18/05/2020 21:23

Congratulations! Xxxx

Mumlili9 · 19/05/2020 02:49

@Sammyclaire22 How's that test looking hun xx

OP posts:
Sammyclaire22 · 19/05/2020 06:47

Good so far thanks! Still faint on my cheap sticks but I think it's getting darker on them. Yesterday's frer was def darker than before.
I phoned the gp and epau yesterday (I work opposite the one I want to go to but I'm not actually under by default) and she said I can phone in week 6 and pop over so that's only a couple of weeks eeek

Started to feel a bit sick yesterday and then I realised being in the first trimester in the summer means I can't hide my travel bands 🙈

How are you getting on? X

Springandsummer123 · 19/05/2020 06:56

Wow that's great they will see you at 6weeks - that will be really reassuring to see it's in the right place. X

Sammyclaire22 · 19/05/2020 07:14

They usually do if you have history of ectopicjust make sure you mention it to the gp or midwife when you inform them of your pregnancy. I think we might go for a private scan too as I've heard some of them still allow partners and my dh wants to come. AF due tomorrow so hoping I don't have any bleedingno spotting yet which I usually have about 10dpo so fc that's a good sign it's in the right place and a healthy little bean!

Ivybutterfly · 19/05/2020 12:39

I have had a scan at 6 weeks with every pregnancy. They like to reassure and do not want to take risks. Lots of love to @Sammyclaire22. Xx
