TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

@littleeggcup - Ooo that’s good news! When will you get the results from today?

She said they will call me if there's an issue but if I want to know the results to call! So I might call in a moment to just see what the level is.

I don't feel very positive or hopeful if I'm honest but I hope they catch it early so I only need the injection and not to have the tube removed ....! Xxxx

Keep thinking of the positives.
I too had my right tube removed, and had been bleeding internally so equally dramatic circumstances.

Thank you. I just don't know why but I don't feel hopeful at all.

I'm just waiting to hear back from nurse about my bloods- the doctor said they wouldn't call if there's mot a problem
But if I wanted to know I could call.

So I called and they haven't come back; nurse will call me apparently.

If they haven't by 4 I'll call again because I'm so anxious. Although I know it's not going to mean anything!

Wednesday I reckon I'll know more when I've had the second bloods. What a painful wait!!!

I really hope it's okay but I don't feel like it will be :(

I’m four days after my first dose of Methotrexate (first pregnancy, lucky me) but I just wanted to place mark as I’ll no doubt be here in twelve weeks, looking for a bit of a handholding. I’ve read the full thread and it has given me a lot of hope during such a bleak time. Good luck to you all, I am sending out such good wishes to you.

@littleeggcup I can imagine you’re going out of your mind 😔 I don’t think there’s a lot to tell by one single HCG figure, think it’s more about building a bigger picture over a few days. I hope the wait passes quickly for you so you know where you stand.

Exactly! So I don't even know why I want to know the hcg today. Think I am just anxious.

This is all very stressful isn't it? Can't feel happy at all yet and probably won't for a while!

I'm hoping Wednesday when I have my next blood test will give me some usual information. They also won't scan me until I think she said 1500 hcg? As they'd not see anything otherwise

Hcg is 139 which doctor said was quite low but that I'm early on; hoping this has doubled on Wednesday xx

@littleeggcup Don’t think the HCG matters for a scan, they scanned me at 5+4 for my ectopic and my HCG was only 501. They did see it in my tube, though they did really have to look for it! Have you heard anything back from the doctors?

@littleeggcup Sorry our posts crossed, at least you have a baseline now for what to expect on Wednesday. From what I’ve seen the number itself doesn’t seem to matter too much, it’s the doubling that counts. I really have everything crossed for you x

Yes I now have a long anxious wait until Wednesday evening to see if they have doubled! I really hope they have but this niggling pain lower left really has me doubting xx

I’m not holding out much hope this cycle but find myself for the first time in the TWW nevertheless! AF due Christmas Day so trying to manage expectations 😬😬😬

@NigellasMicrowave sorry you’re going through it, it really is a shit thing to go through. Mine would have been surgically resolved 10 weeks tomorrow and I agree with what was said about time being a healer. Were you trying?

@Kate105 fingers crossed you have a lovely present on the 25th but if not, please do ensure you’ve got something lined up for yourself as a special treat. I always found that helped with the arrival of AF. It is really helpful to hear that it gets better.

@Chica1990 yes - we were trying and caught on the fourth month which I recognise is really lucky in lots of ways, it is such a kicker that it turned out this way.

I think I’ll be floating around on here, picking up the positive vibes and hopefully sending many out to you all x

Just went for a wee and pink spotting :( I don't know if I'm strong enough to go through another ectopic I don't know what to do

Try not to worry @littleeggcup it might just be implantation bleeding, or worst case an early mc. Worst as in I personally found a mc so much easier to cope with than my ectopic, not that a mc is an easy thing.

I had bleeding (heavy fresh blood at times) on and off with my first (conceived a month after my ruptured ectopic so I know the fears very well!) and it was just my cervix reacting to the hormones. And implantation bleeding is really common too. Try not to worry, I know it's impossible until you have that first scan and see where it is though! Every twinge or symptom sent me into meltdown in the early weeks.

Oh @littleeggcup, like Sammy said as hard as it is try not to worry too much. Worrying won’t change the outcome - you need to try and keep yourself calm for your own sanity. You are only 14dpo so could be implantation bleeding still as your little one is trying to nestle in. I had pink spotting the day before and after my BFP and haven’t had any more since, this could be the case for you too. Obviously if it gets any worse then seek medical attention but it could well not be the worst case scenario for you xx

I haven't had anymore spotting. I'm 4wk 1 day today. I did a cb digi and it's moved to 2-3 which I'm just hanging onto. As sad as that is! I just am clinging onto any kind of hope.

My pain got worse last night and we ended up calling 111 but no one called me back.

My dp wants me to call the EPU to go in today for a scan but I'm not sure there's any point?? He just doesn't want it to be another rupture and for me to lose my only tube xxxx

Morning @littleeggcup, glad you haven’t had any more spotting! Your CB digi is good news too, my ectopic never got past 1-2. Sadly I don’t think they would be able to do much if you went to EPU, they wouldn’t be able to see anything at this stage. They’d only offer to do bloods I imagine which you’re having anyway. Could always give them a call this morning and see what they say?

Meanwhile in my camp the morning sickness has started today 😫

@MrsB2019x this is what I think too. I'm going in tomorrow to have my bloods redone. So I'll know tomorrow afternoon.

How many weeks are you? I feel sick in the morning today but I think it's because I'm hungry!!

They won't do a scan yet @littleeggcup ☹️, private or NHS! I've managed to have scans about 5+4 at the earliest as my cycles are short but that was from lots of arguing as I ruptured at 6w exactly so their 6w is more like 6+4 for me! Once there is a heartbeat they won't use methotrexate (or so I was told) so I really do get the stress. I've had 3 pregnancies since my ectopic, one a mc and the other was my dd and my current one. I know the waiting is hard, but focus on the positives which is you have a positive test which is progressing and chances are come August/ September you will have a baby!
If the other tube looked fine when they did the removal, then chances are it will all be fine.
I found trying to think about what was best for baby helped, being stressed isn't good (for either of you) so when the worries come crowding in try and distract yourself. X

@littleeggcup I’m only 4+6! It was only a really short intense burst of nausea this morning but that’s enough for me haha
