TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

With respect *@madcow88*, getting pregnant first month trying isn’t “advice” and can be seen as quite insulting to some people on this group who have been trying for over a year. And as I’m sure you know even having a medically managed ectopic can still be quite traumatic so there is every reason to be anxious of having another.

I’m sure you weren’t meaning to tread on any toes but I think your post can be taken in the wrong way.

I didn't mean to offend just giving my experience of the trauma I have suffered. I apologise.

Can I also add I have had 2 ectopics and 9 miscarriages. I can get pregnant straight away but I can't carry to term. So my comment is just as valid as any other and I didn't mean to offend.

@madcow88 ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage is very traumatic. Trying to not be anxious is good advice.

@MrsB2019x it is so hard and each month is like a rollercoaster. Love to you.

Hi @Sammyclaire22 I'm actually ok today. The bleeding has stopped but test is still positive so I'm going to keep a close eye on it! I want to somehow believe it was a heavy implantation bleed but it didn't feel like my period.. it was only really a day and a half long with no cramps.

I'm keeping busy today and tomorrow so it'll help to keep my mind off it.

@Sammyclaire22 my gut is telling me that it was my period but I'll just have to keep doing tests and see what happens. I don't want to get excited because there was quite a heavy bleed and I thought there's no way I can still be pregnant after that.
I'll keep you updated though xxx

AF for me this morning, a 32 day cycle which I've never had before. Pre ectopic I was always bang on 28 days. I'm also definitely experiencing more painful periods since the surgery, I never used to feel a thing!

@flobbadobba have you had your ivf consultation yet?

I found my periods were longer and more painful after the ectopic too @DoctorBambino although I had medical management. Hope you are okay x

Hey, I'm ok today. Not feeling any cramping or bleeding. I'm going to contact the doctor on Wednesday as test today is even darker. Don't know what's going on 😞

Test at the bottom is this mornings and the others are yesterday/sat and Friday

Hi everyone CD4 here... getting ready to rumble in a couple of days! Eek! My cycles have gone back to a nice 28 day as before but they seem to be a bit heavier and I now get some spotting beforehand which is new...

Thank you! Have appointment booked for Wednesday morning so I'll see how it goes. They'll probably just take bloods for hcg level which will need to be repeated in 48 hours. Just have to take it as it comes.

@coffeewithmilk the darker lines are a good sign, but def speak to your gp as they can sort out the early scan to check location too. Implantation bleeds can be heavy so it's still nothing majorly unusual, in reality it's only a few ml lost. I had heavy bleeds a few times up to second trimester with my Eldest and all was OK, they think it was my cervix as I have ectopy and it flared up with the hormones. I know it's a worry though after all we've been through. It's hard dealing with the swinging emotions of hopeful, scared and self preservation xX

I'm back from the gp. He doesn't seem very hopeful because I had that heavy bleed but has taken a blood hcg which I'll hopefully get the results either today or early tomorrow morning. Once he has that back we will make a plan and go from there.
I hope it's good news as my test was blaring positive this morning, but I'll just have to be patient and see what happens xx

Doctor on, hcg level 120. Have to go back Friday for another blood test, but he seems to think it is quite low for this stage x

Did your doc say what your progesterone levels were like @coffeewithmilk? When I had bloods done the nurse told me there isn’t much they can tell by the first hcg reading and they need to go by the difference so I’m still hopeful for you!

Meanwhile I’ve just had a second pregnancy announcement this week and for the first time I actually feel more bitter about it than pleased. I feel awful for feeling awful about it! Argh 🙄
