TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

I can see a line. I am so excited for you. Congratulations! You deserve it so much. Xx

Ivybutterfly · 25/11/2020 10:54

This has been an amazing thread. Everyone has been so supportive and amazing.

@Mumlili9 how are you? You are the one we need to thank for starting it. Xxx

DoctorBambino · 25/11/2020 12:13

That line looks clear to me! Congratulations 🥰

coffeewithmilk · 25/11/2020 18:56

Thank you everyone!
I'm just taking things as they come and try not to get too nervous. Having some brown spotting which is unusual for me, so hoping it's from implantation.
Keeping everything crossed x

Kate105 · 25/11/2020 19:28

We’re all with you @coffeewithmilk sending you lots of luck!

I am shitting myself mega excited because I have started spotting so AF should be rearing her head tomorrow! Which means that I am officially CD1 as of tomorrow and officially TTC again! Argh?!

coffeewithmilk · 26/11/2020 13:48

Feels a bit more real to see it in words.
Will keep you all updated when I eventually go for a scan etc. Let's hope it's 3rd time lucky ❤️

OMG!!! Congratulations! So exciting. Xxx ❤️❤️❤️

Cbd333 · 26/11/2020 15:50

@coffeewithmilk I've been following this thread for a while and have been patiently waiting for you to post and hoping it was good news - congratulations!

I had an ectopic in 2017 and since gave birth to a beautiful daughter. Following a miscarriage in August I am now 7 weeks pregnant and very nervous.

Both pregnancies have taken more than 18 months and have been preceded by a loss. I think ectopic also take away the joy that most people feel when they see a positive test because you just know the pain and complications that may lay ahead.

I hope everyone on this thread is keeping their chins up and that we all have the good news we deserve sooner rather than later x

coffeewithmilk · 26/11/2020 17:27

Thank you everyone ❤️

Thank you @Cbd333 it's been what feels like a longest worst year imaginable so I'm hoping this news is a positive way to end the year and hopefully end up with my rainbow.
I'm sorry to hear of your ectopic and wishing you all the best for your pregnancy ❤️

Kate105 · 26/11/2020 17:52

Omg congratulations @coffeewithmilk wishing you so much luck! And you too @Cbd333 xxx

that90sgirl · 26/11/2020 18:06

@coffeewithmilk congratulations, keeping everything crossed for you! Need some advice..I'm in my fertile week now and was ready to actually try this month since the ectopic but I've just received a letter from my fertility appointment where they did a vaginal swab (sorry TMI) which shows yeast so basically thrush. I don't have any symptoms but they've recommended treatment. I've read that you should refrain from DTD whilst having thrush as you can pass it on to your partner. I'm gutted as I had finally worked myself up to trying and I'm ovulating from my left hand side (remaining tube side). Just looking some others take on it? Would you give it a miss this month?

Ivybutterfly · 26/11/2020 19:25

@that90sgirl I would just go ahead. Then get some cream if needed.

Ivybutterfly · 26/11/2020 19:26

@Cbd333 very true. Congratulations. Wishing positivity and baby dust to everyone. Xx

Sammyclaire22 · 26/11/2020 19:41

Congrats that's so good to see @coffeewithmilk! You will have to keep us updated with your scan. Sending lots of love for the next few weeks, the wait is so hard.

@that90sgirl id just go for it! He's got a month to get over the thrush haha. Also, don't worry about counting which side it is. It's still more than possible to conceive from the tubeless side as the tubes float around like little vaccumes! I found not counting sides helped with my stress levels when ttc. My current pregnancy is from my tubeless side :)

MrsB2019x · 26/11/2020 21:34

@coffeewithmilk Congratulations! You so, so deserve your rainbow baby 💙

Welcome @Cbd333! Sorry you find yourself here. Congratulations on your current pregnancy! x

Ivybutterfly · 26/11/2020 22:16

How do you know which side you ovulated from?

coffeewithmilk · 27/11/2020 09:09

I woke up to bright red heavy this morning. Reckon I'm having a chemical. Only positive is at least it is early x

This is the downside of testing so early. X

MrsB2019x · 27/11/2020 09:10

Oh no @coffeewithmilk, I am so, so sorry 💙 life can be so cruel. Gentle hugs to you xxx

Ivybutterfly · 27/11/2020 09:22

@coffeewithmilk I am so sorry. I got pregnant not long after my chemical. Big hugs. Xxx

DoctorBambino · 27/11/2020 10:21

@coffeewithmilk I'm so sorry for you 😔 there are no words. I really feel for you xx

madcow88 · 27/11/2020 12:35

I lost a tube when I was 17 not ectopic but I then went onto have an ectopic pregnancy and due to only having one tube this was managed medically.

The only advise I can give is I get pregnant very easily first months trying... everytime! I don't know whether I am super fertile or whether it's because I only have one tube for the egg to travel down.

Don't be anxious for a further ectopic as like I said they can manage them medically with a cancer drug I believe.

madcow88 · 27/11/2020 12:37

I might add that my ectopic was descovered early as I had regular scans to check so basically they ended the pregnancy and kept me in a week on drugs. They said I would have lost it if I had have not been scanned and it had gone on to rupture.

Kate105 · 27/11/2020 15:26

Oh I’m so sorry @coffeewithmilk sending you lots of love xxx

Sammyclaire22 · 27/11/2020 18:12

I'm so sorry @coffeewithmilk, I know how devastating it is to wait so long for a line then to mc. Sending so many hugs xxx

MrsB2019x · 27/11/2020 19:49

With respect @madcow88, getting pregnant first month trying isn’t “advice” and can be seen as quite insulting to some people on this group who have been trying for over a year. And as I’m sure you know even having a medically managed ectopic can still be quite traumatic so there is every reason to be anxious of having another.

I’m sure you weren’t meaning to tread on any toes but I think your post can be taken in the wrong way.
