TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

Thank you @Sammyclaire22 xx

I agree, this thread has been a godsend. It really has. What an amazing bunch of women. Baby dust and lots of luck to everyone TTC. Xx

Sammyclaire22 · 26/10/2020 10:05

Have hope @doctorbambino, after 12m ttc and then my ectopic, I conceived my eldest the month after my surgery. It can still happen and when you least expect it x

coffeewithmilk · 26/10/2020 10:56

@Ivybutterfly @MrsB2019x I used just the strip tests I ordered online.
I've had really sore boobs, feeling sicky and very tired so I'm really surprised there's not even a hint of a line!
Maybe I'll just try another test the day AF is due

They are awful. I got a positive with a first response 11dpo. You won’t get a positive until day 14. Fingers crossed you are not out. Xxx

coffeewithmilk · 26/10/2020 11:59

Thank you @Ivybutterfly
I'll try again in a few days xx

Ivybutterfly · 26/10/2020 12:05

I was 14 dpo before the test stripe went positive. Xx

ScottishStardust · 27/10/2020 11:39

Morning Everyone! Wanted to share the news with you that we had our 12 week scan today and everything went well and measuring as expected! Hopefully this is a glimmer of hope to everyone! Still doesn't feel really - but I know these stories helped me through when we were TTC

MrsB2019x · 27/10/2020 12:00

Amazing news @ScottishStardust 💙

Sammyclaire22 · 27/10/2020 12:05

Lovely news @scottishstardust x

Ivybutterfly · 27/10/2020 12:11

Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I also had a scan today @ScottishStardust 7 weeks 4 days and the baby has a heartbeat. So happy we have positive and happy stories on this thread. Xx

DoctorBambino · 27/10/2020 14:27

Congratulations @scottishstardust and @ivybutterfly it is so lovely to hear success stories. Wishing you both all the best for the rest of your pregnancies and beyond!

@coffeewithmilk I hope a line appears for you later this week🤞

ScottishStardust · 27/10/2020 15:15

Aww lovely @Ivybutterfly so happy for you! Glad everything Is looks well! Nice to have two positive stories in one day!

Sammyclaire22 · 27/10/2020 15:50

coffeewithmilk · 27/10/2020 19:01

Ah congratulations girls!! Great to see some positivity on the thread! ❤️

Thank you @DoctorBambino, keeping my fingers crossed too xx

MrsB2019x · 27/10/2020 22:47

Ah lovely news @Ivybutterfly! So pleased for you.

This thread is full of positivity atm! Hopefully the rest of us follow suit soon 🥰 I’m fairly sure I ovulated today so I’ll update you in 2 weeks 😂 probably more like 10 days because I can’t help testing early

ScottishStardust · 28/10/2020 07:26

Haha laughing at the score out piece!! We found out at this 3 weeks 3 days because I was becoming an earliest tester!! Also an expensive one as hated trying to figure out whether it was a line or not so only used digital ones!! Husband is delighted as we'll save a fortune now haha!!

Fingers crossed @MrsB2019x

MrsB2019x · 28/10/2020 08:49

@ScottishStardust I only have cheapies in the house because I was spending a fortune on FRERs!

DoctorBambino · 28/10/2020 09:41

I dread to think how much I've spent on frers! Another BFN for me today at 12dpo (and another blank frer in the bin!). I am expecting AF today as I usually have an 11 day luteal phase.. maybe the surgery has lengthened it... that would be a positive at least 🤷‍♀️

Ivybutterfly · 28/10/2020 10:05

Thank you everyone. The support of this thread means so much. I usually used the cheapies but I used a frer last time. I have a 33 day cycle and got sick of the massive wait.

Lots of baby dust to everyone. Xx

Hi, someone on another post suggested this thread so hope you don’t mind me hopping on! I had an ectopic in early September, had methotrexate which was unsuccessful, so had my right tube removed the week after. My next period is due end of November and after that we’ll be able to start trying again. Just looking for a bit of reassurance really! My ectopic was my first ever pregnancy and I’m absolutely terrified that the same thing will happen again next time. I know I’ll be able to get an early scan next time but even so it’s going to be a whole new level of anxiety I think!

ScottishStardust · 07/11/2020 09:25

Hi Kate, sorry to hear about your ectopic! You've joined a god forum with women in similar positions.

I had my ectopic in Oct 18 - we were getting married in Sept 19 so it was a little bit of surprise. We held off trying again due to the wedding and started around March/April this year (we went to a country that had known zikq cases in the past so held off!). We feel pregnant in the July and I'm now 14w pregnant!

It's scary, but if you get a scan in the early stages it confirms baby is in the right place. We had to go private for our scan due to covid (well we could have left it but the worry was too much for me!) but I do believe they are starting NHS early scans again.

It's a horrible time, allow yourself to grieve but you will get pregnant again and it'll all be fine!! Good luck to you.

MrsB2019x · 07/11/2020 09:51

Hi @Kate105, welcome but sorry you find yourself here 💙
I’m in the same boat as you, found out in April I was pregnant with my first but it was ectopic and was treated with methotrexate. Been allowed to try again since July but have had no luck so far. As much as I want to be pregnant again I am absolutely terrified!

There are quite a few ladies on here who have fallen pregnant again successfully in the right place so there is hope 💙

Ivybutterfly · 07/11/2020 09:57

Hi @Kate105. Welcome. I am sorry for your loss. It is so hard and traumatic. I lost my tubes too. It was my third pregnancy. I am now pregnant again after about 10 months of trying. I used preseed for the first time when I got pregnant. Might have been a coincidence. I also used clear blue digital ovulation stick.
The chances of having another ectopic are between 7-10 per cent. Small but scary. The stats on having a successful pregnancy within 18 months is 85 per cent. Good luck.
I think over strenuous daily workouts (HIIT) and too much protein caused my ectopic. I would go easy on the exercise during the 2WW. Xx

Kate105 · 07/11/2020 18:48

Thank you everyone ❤️ It’s just nice to be able to chat to people in the same boat! My family and friends have been really supportive but I don’t know anyone else who has been through this so it’s good to know you are out there! X

Icedlatte14 · 09/11/2020 18:37

Hi @Kate105, I’ve been lurking on this page on and off. I had an ectopic pregnancy in August and it took 3 weeks for a diagnosis. I had the Methotrexate injection in the end. I’m coming up to 12 weeks post injection at the end of the month. I want to try again but really worried about it happening again. It was an awful ordeal to go through first pregnancy and it really took it out of me mentally and physically. Hoping for good news soon, but agree think I will be even more anxious about how things progress! Good luck x
