TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Mumlili9 · 25/02/2020 03:22

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

That's a relief you don't need surgery again. Hopefully you can get home soon Smile x

Ivybutterfly · 31/07/2020 18:21

@coffeewithmilk so sorry I am just seeing this now. I hope you are okay. What a run of bad luck.

I am just back from the hospital. Unfortunately I have had a miscarriage. Feeling sad and hormonal but onwards and upwards. Lots of love to everyone. Xxx

Springandsummer123 · 31/07/2020 19:08

So sorry @Ivybutterfly - hope you're ok x

coffeewithmilk · 31/07/2020 19:15

I'm so sorry @Ivybutterfly
Sending lots of love and thoughts your way 💐💜

MrsB2019x · 31/07/2020 19:15

So sorry to hear @Ivybutterfly, take care of yourself 💕

Ivybutterfly · 31/07/2020 19:38

Thank you ❤️❤️

BasalGanglia · 31/07/2020 21:15

@Ivybutterfly so sorry to hear x

Sammyclaire22 · 01/08/2020 06:27

Good luck today with your bloods @coffeewithmilk, I really hope its resolved naturally. Not that it's any less painful emotionally, but being messed with and not able to be at home always feels harder.

Sending lots of love @ivybutterfly too, the one comfort I took from mine in feb was that at least I conceived. It can feel like such a long route to even the first scan before you then have all the worries "normal" women have.
Sending lots of hugs to you both x

Ivybutterfly · 01/08/2020 13:22

@BasalGanglia thank you.

Good luck @coffeewithmilk. It is so unfair what you have been through. I will be thinking of you.

@Sammyclaire22 thank you. That is what is getting me through. The entire experience was awful. The male doctor kept dismissing me. Then a female doctor did a blood pregnancy test and it was positive. The consultation was so cold and nasty and kept saying I was ‘anxious’ and ‘had anxiety’. I had to actually ask them if the numbers had gone up or down and then he was just really abrupt and nasty and said ‘you are not pregnant, sorry.’ In a really nasty way. What a way to find out you had a miscarriage!

They made me feel like I was wasting their time. It is my second pregnancy loss in less than a year and there was no kindness or compassion. I am in loads of pain and feel fainty. It took weeks to even get tests done. Every time there has been a male doctor and I have had a miscarriage the doctor has said ‘these things happen’ and told me to pull myself together. So angry.

coffeewithmilk · 01/08/2020 13:31

@Ivybutterfly I'm so sorry you have gone through this experience. I was upset even reading your post. I don't understand how people, especially medical people can be so unempathetic and cold towards patients, especially when they've been through something so traumatic & heartbreaking.
I'm sorry for the pain you've gone through. We can get each other through it 💜

I'm still waiting to see another doctor as my level hasn't dropped very much so not quite sure what's going on.

Thinking of you x

Sammyclaire22 · 01/08/2020 14:41

That's so unprofessional of them @ivybutterfly it makes me so angry hearing stories like this. Unfortunately a lot of medics just really don't seem to have much understanding or empathy for fertility or loss. You could complain, some doctors have no decent bedside manner. My registered GP is the same, he always makes me feel like I'm overreacting so I usually try and have anyone else at the practice than him.
And with our history anxiety is hardly surprising, but making our like it's female hysterics over something normal is so demeaning. I'm medical-related myself but when it comes to female issues it just seems that the woman's perception and experience takes such a backseat in decisions but can have such a profound and lasting impact on mental health which just isn't cared for.

Have you taken any pain killers? And have you had any bleeding yet? Even though I was early with mine I had awful backpain when it started so it was useful to have some decent drugs in for a few days. I would suggest a bath but best not to if you are feeling faint.

Wish I could give both you ladies a big hug xxx

Ivybutterfly · 01/08/2020 15:36

@coffeewithmilk thank you. I bite back at him as he was being condescending to me and after that he was more respectful. I find with bullies that is the only way to communicate with them. We can get through this together. I am so glad I found this group. It is keeping me sane.

It is so hard not knowing. I hope it gets sorted soon. I am thinking of you and sending love and positivity your way. Xx

@Sammyclaire22 you are right. They do not care about female issues, even if that is their speciality, and nothing for mental health.
I have had a little bleeding. I will take more paracetamol. To make it worst I am having constant fights with DH. He is going off and doing DIY and house stuff ‘for me’ while I take care of the children. Hard to think how things could get worse TBH.

Thank you so much for all of the support. Big hug to you ladies. Xx

MrsB2019x · 01/08/2020 15:42

@Ivybutterfly How unprofessional! I’d definitely write to the hospital’s PALS department to explain how that made you feel. It’s such an emotional time anyway without the people who are supposedly there to help being so condescending.

@coffeewithmilk I can’t believe how much this is dragging out for you! I really hope you get some answers soon and can go home to your own bed.

Massive hugs to the both of you 💙💙

coffeewithmilk · 01/08/2020 15:53

I'm going home yay!

Have to come back on Monday for another level. As I'm pain free now, and stable they're happy for me to go home.
Depending on the level on Monday, if it hasn't dropped significantly, I may need a d&c to see if that brings it down.

So long and drawn out but at least I get to go home xx

Ivybutterfly · 01/08/2020 16:03

@coffeewithmilk I am so happy for you! Yeah! ❤️❤️❤️

MrsB2019x · 02/08/2020 11:20

@coffeewithmilk so glad you’re home! Will be thinking of you tomorrow x

BasalGanglia · 03/08/2020 12:44

@coffeewithmilk thinking of you today x

coffeewithmilk · 03/08/2020 13:07

Thank you 💜
Had bloods done, will be phoned tomorrow with the results. Hate all the waiting around xx

Ivybutterfly · 03/08/2020 18:10

@coffeewithmilk it is so unfair on you. I hope you are okay. Thinking of you. ❤️ Xx

coffeewithmilk · 04/08/2020 18:15

Level only went down by 10 in 48 hours so they've called me back into hospital to 'observe' me again. Not really sure what they're going to do overnight. Can't believe I'm back in here. Let's hope for better sleep this time around.
This is dragging on way too long.

Hope everyone is keeping well.
@Ivybutterfly been thinking of you, hope you're doing ok ❤️ xx

Ivybutterfly · 04/08/2020 19:49

I feel so angry about what is happening to you. It is so unfair. I hope it gets sorted ASAP. I am thinking of you too.

Thank you. The bleeding really started in Sunday. It is awful but it will be over soon hopefully. ❤️❤️

MrsB2019x · 04/08/2020 19:57

Oh my gosh @coffeewithmilk, you must feel like this is never going to end. Hopefully won’t be in too long 💙

coffeewithmilk · 05/08/2020 10:02

It's looking like I'll have to get methotrexate. Doctors aren't happy with how slow the levels are dropping.
Does anyone have any experience with methotrexate? Is it going to make me feel awful?
How long should I stay off work afterwards? Everything I read on google says it makes you feel terrible with nausea vomiting and hair loss 😞 x

coffeewithmilk · 05/08/2020 11:13

Blood from this morning came back, and level dropped over 100 in 48 hours so they said I can wait a week, recheck the levels and hope that it's now starting to resolve on it's own.

Sammyclaire22 · 05/08/2020 11:16

I've just caught up on the last few posts @coffeewithmilk, I'm really sorry what's happened. I've not experience personally but I would say it's still a better option than surgery. My mil is on it for her arthritis and is OK but I assume it's different doses. Will you be able to go home today?

How are you doing @ivybutterfly? Has the bleeding eased off? X
