TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

Phonecall from EPU confirmed hcg level was 507. Have to go back on Thursday for a repeat blood to see what the level is doing x

Hope it was the nasty woman on the phone who had to process the results 😏🖕

Getting bloods done at 10, hoping I'll get the results tomorrow and they don't make me wait until Friday. The waiting is the hardest part. It's been the longest day today x

@coffeewithmilk I know each hospital is different but I had hcg blood tests at 10am every week for 4 months and they'd ring me back mid afternoon the same day with the results x

Level only went from 500-530. They've brought me back in to do a scan to make sure it's not another ectopic.

I've had the scan, pregnancy of unknown location, they think it's in the right cornual area.
So being admitted for observation and serial blood hcg and scans.

Is that where the last one was as well @coffeewithmilk ? I know it's not much comfort right now BUT at least it's not in your remaining tube. Well done for staying positive. Are you staying in hospital overnight?

I'm so sorry @coffeewithmilk, it's utterly shit for you. I'm really glad they are investigating it properly so hopefully you won't be in too long. Thank goodness you stood your ground and got checked out by epu xx

@coffeewithmilk so sorry to hear this. Hopefully you'll get more answers soon. I had a left cornual recently and was expectantly managed.

My previous ectopic was the left side, so this cornual is on the right side.
They said I will be in over the weekend at least and they'll keep a close eye as I've got some pain.
Hopefully I won't need surgery again
@BasalGanglia what kind of treatment did you have? Did they give the methotrexate?

@coffeewithmilk I wasn't given Methotrexate because of Covid and the immunosuppressant effect that it has. They said they usually would have done as my hcg was 5000 and I know of other people who've been given it so maybe it's an individual hospital decision?

I was allowed home after diagnosis as I had no pain and I had serial hcg testing every two days at first, then weekly, then every other week as it came down. It did take 4 months as my hcg was so high!

Cornuals are meant to be quite rare so your luck really is rotten x

I had methotrexate when my HCG was 500 @coffeewithmilk and it was negative after 2 weeks, might be worth pressing for that if you can. Does mean you can’t try again for 3 months though x

Thank you both for the input. I think they're just being so cautious because it's my remaining tube but I am having some pain and spotting so I don't think I'm eligible for the methotrexate. I'm going to discuss more with the doctor when she comes back

I had pain & full on bleeding. Each hospital works differently though, they will do what is best

Hi @BasalGanglia I started bleeding this morning and passing some clots so was seen by the consultant, not for surgery, she thinks I may be miscarrying the ectopic, so will need to wait until hcg levels are done tomorrow. If they've gone down then I'll need repeat bloods until the level goes to 0. If they've stayed the same or not dropped very much, I'll need the methotrexate.
Relieved I don't need another surgery.
Bleeding has eased off now, just hope the levels have decreased so I can get home to my DH and my own bed! Xx
