ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 11:29

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

winemakesmummyclever · 07/09/2007 09:29

Morning, hope everyone is ok today.

Justjules & Shagsalot - great new names .

Kensgirl - I know that this is an expecially difficult time for you . Hope you are ok.

SK - so sorry that you had a bad day yesterday, but great news about the promotion - hopefully that will help to ease the worry and stress for you guys.

Lissie - good luck with the house move. Get take out for the first night in the new house - far more civilised than trying to hunt down all your kitchen goods .

I have a budhha of children on the hall table - I shall give his belly a good rub for those of you hoping for bfp's this month.

Oh no Lcy, poor iliketosleep, shall pop over and see how she's doing. There really are too many of us March ladies here already - so sad.

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 07/09/2007 10:29

thanks for the messages

Poor iliketosleep will go and post something for her in a bit as if it is of any use is it just me or is there far too many of us from the Due in March thread had mc's

pipsqueeke - keeping everything crossed for the tests today for you

WMMC - waves a big hello

Well I need your advice ladies I think I have started my period well I don't know that makes me sound about 15 doesn't it.

I had my big bleeds as I call them Sat/Sun/Mon 11th/12th/13th of August so thats less than 4 weeks ago. mc bleeding stopped about 2 weeks after that, this is fresh new red blood (sorry if TMI) but the end of the mc blood was old and brown.

So it must be AF then???? So I was ov-ing whilst still bleeding from the mc, the female body is a weird thing for sure.

goingfor3 · 07/09/2007 10:33

Sweetkitty my period started about 1 1/2 weeks after my m/c bleeding stopped. My period was also bright red blood, there was no old blood for the whole duration of it either which is unlike me.

sweetkitty · 07/09/2007 10:41

That's exactly like mine goingfor3 it's started with a bang so to speck straight to bright red blood unliek normal where I would get spotting for the first 1/2 day.

I feel better if it truly is CD1 for me at least I can get on with things now.

flosspot · 07/09/2007 11:41

Morning all- just wanted to say hello, though nothing to report. Amnow on 2WW. Got Toni Wechsler's book and have been following her guidelines for knowing if you are ovulating. Means I don't have to pester DH too much for sex.

Fingers crossed. For everyone. You've been doing a lot of chatting the last couple of days and I need to go catch up....

TJuice · 07/09/2007 11:47

god, i almost kind of want my period now . . .that or a BFP

but of course its way to soon to get that (three weeks today since d/c). i just want to know either way what's happening. i am not the most intune with myself, as i was on the pill for so long, and had barely any pms or other symptoms for years.

anyway, hope everyone is feeling a bit positive today - its the most stunning september day here in copenhagen, i am feeling much happier - hope you are too.

Lcy · 07/09/2007 12:49

HI

TJUICE - it is sunny here to - that always makes me feel so much better. I was out of tune with my body due to the pill but after a couple of months spotting ovulation becomes easier. Basics for me are - im really up for having sex, CM increases and is like egg white texture (TMI) and i get a small stabbing pain on which ever side i am ovulating.

SWEETKITTY - it must be nice to be back to CD1 at least you know where you are. Wishing you a lucky month

WMMC - there are so many of us from the March thread. Did you speak to MMU

Shagsalot - good name, did you get your results

Hi Goingfor3, flosspot and everyone else

Right i need to stop skiving .....

winemakesmummyclever · 07/09/2007 13:35

Just checking in while I've got a few minutes to myself.

Lcy & Tjuice - I really agree that a sunny day helps. My moods have definitely been better whilst the weather has been good this week. It's awful being cooped up in the house because of the rain - I always end up looking like a bag lady by the end of the day, covered in paint and playdough in my hair. Of course, now it's fine enough to play in the garden each evening I end up covered in mud and worms instead .

Lcy - I did speak to MMU. They said I could either do a Bsc in reduced time as I have so much previous study as credit, or I may be able to do the Msc right away (admission tutor dependent). Really not sure what to do, but am leaning towards the Bsc as its an area I haven't really got any firm history in and I don't want to set myself up to fail. The Bsc starts this month and the Msc starts in Jan. Will find out next week though [excited emoticon].

Shagsalot - still smirking at the name. It puts me in mind of some rampart Arthurian knight . Hope your appointment brings positive news .

OP posts:
TJuice · 07/09/2007 13:57

oh, that's funny. i have been having a little stabby pain on my lower right side of my lower abdomen.
I always wondered if i was ovulating when i suddenly found all kinds of inappropriate men attractive . . .

Lcy · 07/09/2007 15:30

Yep thats ovulation TJuice - when the 50 year old postman looks cute . Have you stopped drinking again? I am really enjoying the odd glass of red wine and dont really want to stop

Great news about MMU - always good to have options

kensgirl · 07/09/2007 17:04

Ladies, I have good news!!

I've had the all clear after my partial molar pregnancy!!
After a very long 9 months....

I've had a little cry of relief, well, a big one actually! the letter says that the tumour i unlikely to return, and I only need to be monitored again after any other pregnancies.
I can't beleieve how relieved I am, as I thought I was over it now, but this really is a sign that I can move on and plan for the future.

So - cd 17 of ttc number1 for 11 cycles unofficially

Cycle 1 officially allowed to ttc

Hope you are all having a good day. I'll go and catch up....

good stuff kensgirl. You must be very relieved.

Gilly - I had acupuncture for a while. It did seem to sort out my cycle, which had got very irregular, but it might have sorted itself out on its own, I guess. I think that, as with a lot of alternative therapies, just having someone interested and making you feel looked after is a big part of any 'cure'. And I did find it relaxing...

sweetkitty · 07/09/2007 17:19

Thats great news kensgirl sorry I don't know your history but what is a partial molar pregnancy? Have you been unoffically ttc for 11 cycles? Bring on the BFP then?

On the ovulation front I get very clear signs loads of EWCM, bit of pain and am rampant too, 14 days from now DP better watch out!

WMMC - good news about the course, now that we will have a lot more disposable cash DP has said I should look into doing something, eventually I want to do a PGCE in Primary Teaching so am thinking of something child related possibly with the OU.

Right best get off and get the dinner made, what to have, what to have........

kensgirl · 07/09/2007 17:32

Thanks, Girlies!

Sorry, my brains are too scrambles to catch up much, I'll try harder later

The plan for a PGCE sounds good, Sweet Kitty. I'm a teacher, and do like my job.
A partil molar pregnancy is where there is a ddeveloping baby, and an abnorml placenta. Both have too many chromosomes, which means the baby can't survivr, and the placenta grows into a series of tumours, a bit like a bunch of grapes. If it isn't all taken away, then it can spread and need chemotherapy to get rid of it, As it is, I didn't need any chemo, just weekly then fortnightly checks to make sure it isn't growing again. I wasn't supposed to ttc, as it can mask the signs of the mole regrowing if you get pg, but I decided to anyway, as I was too desperate to wait. My mc was December, we have been ttc since January, and yes, your right, bring on that BFP!! Please.

winemakesmummyclever · 07/09/2007 17:37

Kensgirl - what fantastic news!! Hope there's even better news from you soon.

I have acupuncture regularly, but for my back not ttc. How is that supposed to work? Shall have to ask dh about it when he gets in (he's the one that sticks the pins in me). My parents and sisters do reiki & reflexology too - wonder if that will help? Anyone had any experience ?

SK - it's great when new opportunties present themselves unexpectedly isn't it? I did an OU course a couple of years ago. They give you a fab amount of support and it's good that you don't have to schlepp about searching for the right books etc.

Gilly - Congrats to you on your MA - what was was it in? What kind of hours/commitment required etc? Ok, time to reveal my inner nerd..... I want to do information management, so I can work in a library or archive or something similar. (Before anyone asks, yes, the books on my shelves are alphabetised ).

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 07/09/2007 18:40

kensgirl - that sounds so scary poor you, you have been through it so glad you have the all clear now, maybe that will realx you enough to get that BFP. Glad theres a teacher that likes their job, I so so wish I had done the PGCE at the end of my first degree but I was so skint all I wanted was a job and money.

WMMC - pmsl @ the alphatised books well I'm a total nerd as I was an expert in bacteria total science nerd. I am really looking forward to just doing something for me again and using my brain if I can find it I'm sure it's filed away under pregnancy/labour/homebirths/breastfeeding/BLW/potty training full of cobwebs. I still cannot believe it's been over 3 years since I was in gainful employment.

Right bath time calls, I am sure coming on MN every now and again keeps me sane during teh day.

TJuice · 07/09/2007 19:21

great news Kensgirl. so nice to be in the clear.

all this talk of more study is making me feel very guilty of not finishing my masters thesis. there is no deadline here in scandinavia - none. so i have been working and its been 4 years since i first started . . . and its only a masters! i really need to knock that out this autumn.

lcy, i am drinking the occasional glass of redwine - well, actually its almost every night this week but just a wee one and that's it. its very relaxing but i don't feel the need to go out and party right now, so that's good.
my diet is not as stringent as it was though, and for some reason me and my b/f keep baking (cream cheese brownies last night!) so I am turning into a piglet again. while i was pregnant i kept a food diary, so i could see what i was missing (usually iron and protein) and i have kept that up. every days starts really well with oat cakes and fruit and ends up with wine and cake or chocolate!

Gilly - I am having weekly acupuncture at the moment. I was having it before i got p/g because i felt low-energy and sluggish and was really surprised that i got p/g a month after i came off the pill, when weren't trying (actually using old faithful withdrawal - sorry TMI) so i have this inkling that it had something to do with it. when i asked my acupuncturist he said that it was almost the same thing (for low energy, sluggishess and for fertility) but maybe he is just trying to claim . . .
anyway, i am doing it again now, and think its pretty good but a bit spenny.

hope everyone is doing well this evening. i am about to make dinner for a friend (pasta with chicken, leek and garlic creamy sauce). - piglet mode again . . .

EllieG · 07/09/2007 19:53

That's great news kensgirl! Really pleased for you x

lissielou · 07/09/2007 20:45

kensgirl, thats fab. you know, the body is a funny thing, bet you get that bfp soon!

well ladies, i have been accepted onto the holistic therapies course. so shall be able to practice reflexology/acupuncture in about a year. have decided that i would like to specialise in fertility if i can.

Lcy · 07/09/2007 20:55

Congratulations Lissielou and Kensgirl xx

ronshar · 07/09/2007 23:43

Excellent news Kensgirl. My MC was a suspected Molar. I had to wait 7 weeks after ERPC to get results back. It was a negative. So have a small idea what it has been like for you.
All you brainy girls I feel very inadequate. I shall have to find something to study so as not to be like the class dumb ass!

Ps I was a very silly naughty girl tonight. I found a cheapy wee stick test. I am not late or anything but I did it anyway. Guess what BFN! That will teach me a lesson. I havent done silly testing for ages. I told you I was going crazy again!!
