Do evap lines ever get darker over time?

Hi all,

So this morning I took a clearblue ultra early test before work and I'm pretty sure I saw a faint line. I've come back from work and looked at the test and the line is darker blue and prominent. I know you shouldn't read tests after the time window but my question is if this morning what I saw was an evap line then would it have gotten darker in colour over time? Or did i actually see a positive this morning?

Here is a pic of it this evening, forgot to take one this morning as was in a rush for work!

Personally I wouldn't trust it, however I have occasionally found on FRER that the line Kind of solidifies a while later and is easier to see. Other times it's disappeared more! Good luck. Try tomorrow? How many days po are you?

Hi, i dont have the answer but I'm in the same boat as you. I took a first response this morning and it was very very faint but once it dried it was a definite line, so I'm interested to hear the answers.

Your test has blue in it, looks promising to me.

I would definitely retest, doesn't look like an evap.

Hi, thanks ladies. I did bought a Frer today and did one about 5PM and it came up what appears to be positive.... attached is a photo!

But I did do a CB digital and that came up not pregnant 🤔

Congratulations
Clear blue digitals are not as sensitive as frer so I'm not surprised is not a positive result.

Thanks! Not sure how I feel about it, was planned but now its happened so fast I've freaked put a little!

Af due today but no sign as of yet! Not even had cramps or feel like I'm about to get a visit 🤔

I would take those tests as positive.

The digital test would come negative for me too when AF was due. I'm 25 weeks now.

hi! i took a test this morning before work, completely forgot about it and came home, checked it and it looked like this. so not sure if it could be an evap line? do evap lines get this dark? sorry, this is my first time using a pregnancy test so not sure what to think 🙂

Hi sorry to jump on this thread I’m currently nearly 2 weeks late clear blue tests are showing this within the time frame first response was negative what do you’d think?

Hey @BobbyT85 did you take another test. I'm thinking the same. I don't know if this is evap line or positive. Do evap lines get darker? Here's some pics. I really don't know what to think

Also here for advice 🙈 This was my first test yesterday…evap or positive line came up about 5 mins after. Took another this morning thinking it will be more obvious and it’s basically the same (second pic). Went and bought different brand - cheap strips as I’ve spent a fortune on tests haha. And that was negative! Don’t know what to think. 3 days late, still no period. Really sore boobs and stomach cramps - but has been like this for days now

Oh and I don’t know if taking out the casing has caused an issue but I thought it was the glare on the plastic causing the line!

How long after was this? I would definitely say pregnant 😀

@Dani7 first pic was few mins others were gradual up to 20 mins. But I asked my sis and she said its defo not an evap line, she said evap lines are usually grey or colourless. Does yours have some colours? She said to do another so I did a digital and I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant. I am in shock. I'm getting married next month and my hen is tomorrow and we wasn't going to try til after wedding

Yes, I would definitely say yours is positive then 😀 Possibly a little overwhelming for you right now, but what a great early wedding present!
I can’t work out if mine has colour as it’s so faint 🙈 I suppose I just have to wait and see but I’m so impatient!

Also here for advice please! (New to this forum). Had a very small amount of spotting for a couple days which stopped yesterday? Was sure I was getting AF but then I have strange twangs down there and feel really exhausted today. I took a clear blue which was initially negative but then looked a couple hours later (I know you shouldn’t do that) and it has a very faint line (too hard to photograph sorry!) with more prominent blue at the top and bottom of the line in the window. Evap line?? I am day 29 of my cycle and am expecting AF tomorrow. The spotting was odd, too early to test maybe if that was implantation bleeding? I took a First Response test this morning and it was negative… so confused. We lost our baby at 3 months in May and am back on Letrozole trying to conceive (fifth course after loss). I should have taken shares in a Pregnancy Test company by now! Haha. I hate this part… really hoping by some miracle I am pregnant as the pills make me so nauseous each time I have to take them :(

Hi I’ve had more clear blue positives, and 2 sainsburys tests positive since I’m suffering badly with sickness and pain in left lower side I went to A&E on Tuesday night they done a strip test which was negative but to be fair I had sat and drank 3 cups of water to force a sample quickly it was very clear, however they done a blood test I waited 2 hours for results and they sent me home doctor said he would call me when they came back I’ve since heard nothing been chasing it up for 4 days now A&E finally said this morning they would get a nurse to phone me to discuss my results and I’m still waiting so I’m no further forward, I did get another faint positive on a pink dye strip test on Wednesday morning however yesterday another negative on the same test
