TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@VeeJayBee I had a natural MC at 6 weeks, pre MC I had a 24 day cycle but my 1st since was a week late. It's been such a strange one though, the 1st day I only had blood when wiping, 2nd morning was the same but as the day went on it got slightly heavier, but there seems to be ALOT of cm mixed in with the blood, I was expecting it to be alot heavier as it's late.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 01/02/2020 09:07

Congratulations @LITTLEPICKLES88 and @Moominmiss! Giving us all hope❤
I'm here to rant at my body this morning, so feel free to ignore me.
Today I'm sat here with boobs 2 sizes bigger for the last 2 weeks, constant cramps for over a week, metallic taste on and off, feeling sick and aversion to smells- thinking of meat makes me want to throw up and I'm very much a meat lover.
Now cd30 since MC. Bnfs still.
Then this morning, brown spotting.
I.am.going.insane.
Wonder if this started out as something and then again its not gone right and lost it before it even began? Just said to OH I want 2 bottles of wine and forget about it, but I can't because what if its just delayed because of the MC and it's just spotting or implantation.
I would recommend to anyone starting rtc after mc they wait til they've had a period, because this not knowing is fucking shit.

Sully84 · 01/02/2020 14:22

I’m in the two week wait. Ovulated last weekend, have had one period since miscarriage that was 29 days after surgery (normal number of days for my cycle), so if it stays true to that I am due on 13th Feb, feels ages away and I am obsessing like I never did conceiving my other two children.

Yesterday evening I was having dizzy spells, today I have a headache. I’m sure it is totally unrelated but it is constantly on my mind 😫

RR369 · 01/02/2020 15:14

I know what you mean @Sully84 I'm noticing every twinge and reading things into bloating, dizziness and headaches that are probably nothing!! I'm 7 DPO and due AF on 6th. I got the timing right this cycle so have my hopes up but probably shouldn't.
Is anyone else temping?

Sparkl · 02/02/2020 10:25

@Sully84 I’m in the tww too, feeling impatient already. My app is saying test on 5th but my cycles are still all over the place so to be past my longest cycle I would be testing on the 12th too.

@RR369 I’m temping but have woken at 4/5am for the last five days 😩 so readings are all over the place too and just stressing me out at this point. Are you temping too?

Anny27 · 02/02/2020 10:41

@sparkl I am temping, I got quite stressed with it last month as I was not sleeping well, but this month seems to be working ok

Cd8 for me today

ChelleF123 · 02/02/2020 11:31

Hi ladies. Can I please join you?
I’m 37 and TTC#1 for a year. I had a natural miscarriage at 6 weeks in September.

I found this thread whilst sitting in tears as AF has just got me.
I was convinced this was my month. For the last week I have felt exactly the same this month as I did when I was pregnant. Sore/swollen/stinging boobs. Nauseous. Exact same cramping that I presumed was implantation again.
But it was just my body playing the cruelest of tricks on me.

Anny27 · 02/02/2020 12:08

@ChelleF123 welcome lovely 💗 I felt the same this month , literally was convinced I was pregnant but then AF arrived!

I am ttc#1 as well and had a MMC in Novemver so had 2 cycles since then but only one of them we were trying.

Let's hope Feb is our month!

Skeena77 · 02/02/2020 12:21

I just found this thread and have not read all of the messages yet, but my husband and I are ttc too. We had a little girl in Jan 2019, then in Oct 2019 I had to get fibroids removed and the doctor said we could start trying to conceive in January 2020, but we started earlier in Dec 2019 and i had a chemical pregnancy, then in Jan 2020 another chemical pregnancy, so I just got my period and am feeling really terrible. I am 42 years old and I know very lucky to already have a healthy little girl, but I almost feel more pressure this time round because I really want our daughter to have a sibling who she can share her life wife, maybe especially because I am an "older" mum, and I want them to be able to have each other. My Hashimoto's is also worse since the last pregnancy, so I am just feeling really defeated and wanted to know if anyone has similar experiences or thoughts. It's my first time on Mumsnet, so hope this all works. Sending love to all of you!

ChelleF123 · 02/02/2020 12:38

Thank you @Anny27 💕
I thought I had my body figured out and turns out I know absolutely nothing. Throwing myself a serious pity party today.

I do hope this is our month xxx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 02/02/2020 17:14

AF has arrived finally, had all the symptoms and shes late. Had such bad cramps last night I almost went to a+e, was exactly like my MC last month. So I am presuming I was pregnant again and lost it again. So thats 2 early MC in 2 months.
Going to GP tomorrow.

RR369 · 02/02/2020 17:56

@SweetpeaOrMarigold so sorry you are going through this, it's just not fair. Hope you have lots of support to help you 💐
@Sparkl I'm temping but using the Ava bracelet so the time doesn't matter. Don't think it would work for me otherwise

Ldawg · 02/02/2020 20:18

Hi all, newbie here. Sorry we all find ourselves here 😔

I miscarried in November and have had a long recovery period. I didn't stop bleeding for two months and in the end resorted to going on the pill to stop it. I'm now having my breakthrough bleed and am just hoping the bleeding stops so I can start trying again asap!!

RR369 · 02/02/2020 20:57

Hi @Skeena77 I've just turned 44 and had my daughter in January 2017 so I think I know what you mean about being an older mum and wanting a sibling for our little ones. I finally got pregnant again in January 2019 but miscarriage in April and nothing since. I don't think I can give you any advice as there are days when you'll feel defeated but hopefully your little girl will help you through those and you'll get your rainbow baby. Don't lose hope, there's no reason why it won't happen for you xx

RR369 · 02/02/2020 21:01

Welcome @Ldawg and @ChelleF123 sorry you find yourselves here, I'm pretty new here too but it already feels like a very supportive thread. Fingers crossed for lots of positive news for all of us xx

LITTLEPICKLES88 · 02/02/2020 22:40

@moominmiss how are you doing? Xx

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 03/02/2020 07:54

@Ldawg I'm sorry that sounds awful when you just want to move on and get ttc again. Hope it stops soon xx
@Skeena77 welcome, sounds like you've been through a tough time Sad I presume your doctor is keeping an eye on your Hashimoto's? Xx
@ChelleF123 its such a let down when you feel so pregnant and then that cow turns up and ruins all your plans. FC this next one is us xx

ChelleF123 · 03/02/2020 08:39

Thanks ladies. It’s good to have people who understand. I feel like my friends would judge my neurotic behaviour. It’s just such a mind f*ck isn’t it. My OH is great but he has absolutely no clue what TTC does to a woman xxx

Salamander91 · 03/02/2020 08:56

Hi all :) I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to ttc this month but I thought I would pop in and say hello. I had an ERPC on the 30th Jan for a MMC. I don't really want to wait until after my first period before ttc again but I'll have to see when my body decides to ovulate. Typically we're staying with my parents between the 14th and 22nd so I wont get a chance if I ovulate then xx

seaduck · 03/02/2020 09:17

Congrats @Moominmiss. Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Welcome @salamander91, sorry you have to join this club but hope you are recovering well.

This month is flying by, think I'm so distracted and really don't have much hope of anything happening so soon, I'm managing to keep it off my mind. Ive got a little promotion at work too, I was thinking of not applying if I was pregnant, I would have been 13 weeks now but seeing as though I'm not, I thought I would go for it. Think I'm going to test next Mon as a first attempt, thats 29 days since mc .

seaduck · 03/02/2020 09:21

@SweetpeaOrMarigold so sorry to hear about your rough period. Hope the GP helps. Stay strong.

Moominmiss · 03/02/2020 09:30

@LITTLEPICKLES88 well I’m doing ok, but I’m afraid I think these bfp’s are just down to leftover hcg from the miscarriage.

The lines aren’t getting any darker, I did another digi last night and still 1-2 weeks, but when I looked at it at eye level as it was developing I could see it flashing not pregnant. Obviously it then came up with the 1-2 weeks result, but I remember reading somewhere online that a lady had seen 2-3 flashing as it developed (only when you look at it at eye level, side on), but it gave her a 1-2 week result, and she actually phoned clear blue to ask why she’d seen it flashing 2-3 and they said it just meant that it must be on the cusp of having enough hormone to go up to 2-3 weeks but not quite there, so to me the fact I saw it flashing not pregnant must mean i only just had enough hormone to turn it to a 1-2 result.

Ugh, so yeah, physically I’m fine, no signs of af either though which is frustrating.

But yeah I’m now 99% certain it’s leftover hormones. I was going to phone my gp today to see if they’d possibly do hcg blood draws for me.

I think the bfn I got back on the 9th must have either been a dud test, or so faint I didn’t see it, or I just didn’t look at it as closely as I thought I did.

Tbh even if this was a new pregnancy the fact the lines are so faint and not getting darker would indicate to me it was going to end up as chemical or miscarriage anyway.

I hope you’re doing ok though?

And thank you to anyone else that has offered congratulations. I will keep everyone updated as to whether it does turn out to be leftover from previously or a new pregnancy!

Good luck to all of you xxx

LITTLEPICKLES88 · 03/02/2020 09:39

@moominmiss yes get a gp appointment to you can find out what's going on 🤔 well today I called to book a midwife appointment I have been putting it off since the last time I did that I had to call and cancel the appointment a couple weeks later :( still a nervous wreck, I'm so worried as my boobs don't hurt... did more tests and they are strong lines now so should make me calm down a bit but can't help worry. I really hope it turns out positive for you! ❤️ xx

Moominmiss · 03/02/2020 09:52

@LITTLEPICKLES88 I can totally understand you having put off phoning to make the appointment, having to phone and cancel my scan appointment last time was horrible.

But there’s nothing to suggest this time things won’t go perfectly. It’s so easy for me or anyone else to say not to panic but I know regardless you will anyway.

Everything sounds good though. In my previous (healthy) pregnancies my symptoms have come and gone throughout so I wouldn’t worry about boobs not being as sore.
The darker line progression sounds so promising though.
Good luck with it all! Keep us posted! Xx

LITTLEPICKLES88 · 03/02/2020 10:31

@Moominmiss thank you 😘 keep us updated on your journey too, keeping you in my thoughts (positive thoughts) xx
