This is the thread for those of us in the TTC after loss penguin huddle who want to try to eat a more healthy diet, exercise more, lose weight or just feel better physically this year

How about we start by saying what our goals are whether that he the number on the scale, doing more exercise or just feeling better about ourselves?

I’m BunnytheBlueWhale (NC recently - see TTC thread). I’m 35 and probably weigh about a stone more than I’d like since I had my stillborn daughter in February. I don’t need to lose weight massively but having post-baby weight and no baby is a bit rubbish!

I’d like to lose a bit of a weight all over and also target my belly with brushing, moisturising and maybe microneedling at home...

I eat a lot of sugary snacks so want to massively reduce those and also try to take a healthy lunch to work to stop me spending so much money on food!

Hi @BunnytheBee good to hear from you :) hope you enjoy yoga today.
I'm OK, had another 1lb loss this week. Feel like things have slowed down and I've plateaued a bit, but I'm not exercising at the moment. Overall I'm 15.5lbs off now. Just need to focus on the overall picture :)

BunnytheBee · 15/02/2020 11:03

Well done you @VenusStarr

Shefliesonherownwings · 15/02/2020 11:44

Morning lovelies

@BunnytheBee hope you enjoy your yoga. You be had a tough week so be kind to yourself.

@VenusStarr well done on the weight loss, 15.5lbs is amazing!

No loss on the scales this week or last for me but a couple of non scale victories. I've managed to post a couple of inches each off my waist and hips and got into a pair of pre pregnancy jeans this morning. I'm really pleased so going to keep up with the WW and exercise as it seems to be working and I don't feel like I'm on a diet.

It's a weekend of painting for kids to get the last bits in our house done. Also expecting the rest of our fence to give up the fight this weekend with storm Dennis. It's starting to get windy down here. Hope everyone is ok. X

Shefliesonherownwings · 15/02/2020 11:45

Sorry about the typos, posted before checking it!

BunnytheBee · 16/02/2020 09:10

@Shefliesonherownwings Well done in the inch loss!

I did a bit of cardio and then yoga yesterday and had a better day yesterday. I feel a bit more positive and I’ve planned for this week the exercise I’m going to do, which I enjoy.

DH wants to go for a walk today with friend who lives nearby so I might go too but he has in mind a 10 mile walk and I’m not sure I’m up for it...

avocadoincident · 20/02/2020 16:31

Hello everyone, how are you all?

I've lost 3lb/1.5 kg this week so I'm dead chuffed. I've dusted off my Fitbit too for extra help and inspiration.

Anyone else finding anything helpful?

BunnytheBee · 20/02/2020 16:39

Well done @avocadoincident!

I pulled out my TomTom watch a few weeks ago and I do find that encourages me to do more even just to do more steps!

VenusStarr · 22/02/2020 09:53

Well done @avocadoincident :)

My fitbit has gathered dust... Happy to share that I've now lost 1st 3lbs. Hoping next week will see me in the next stone down 🤞

How you getting on @BunnytheBee?

Hope everyone is getting on OK xx

avocadoincident · 22/02/2020 10:35

@VenusStarr wowsers how did you lose so much weight? That's incredible!

No doubt my Fitbit will gather dust again at some point, but for now it's helping. I'm thinking of getting a necklace to wear it in rather than the wrist band. Does anyone have one of those?

VenusStarr · 22/02/2020 10:46

I'm following slimming world @avocadoincident. The weight loss is over 12 weeks. I'm essentially following a low fat diet, I'm still eating pasta and potatoes.

I haven't used a pendant but think it eould be handy.

BunnytheBee · 22/02/2020 13:08

Thank you for asking @VenusStarr How are you finding slimming world? So many people swear by it.

Feeling much better this week mentally and emotionally but no exercise during the week. I did some cardio and yoga and a walk last weekend.

Today I did a zumba class before yoga and enjoyed that so will try to do that every Saturday. Tomorrow I plan to go shopping so no gyming but no doubt I’ll get some steps in 😂

Not sure I’ll manage to fit more than one gym class in during the week either but never mind

How is everyone else doing?

BunnytheBee · 22/02/2020 13:09

PS hope it’s not too confusing I keep NC.

Shefliesonherownwings · 22/02/2020 14:40

Hi all. @VenusStarr that's a fantastic weight loss, well done! Will you be treating yourself to some new clothes to celebrate?

Glad you're feeling better @BunnytheBee. Shopping is a workout in itself. My Fitbit often tells me I'm doing a good workout when all I'm doing it trying on clothes lol.

So I've lost 6 pounds since I've been doing weightwatchers and seeing my PT, over a 6 week period. I'm pretty pleased with that as it has been a struggle to get motivated with healthy eating and going to the gym although once I've been I've felt good. I can get into my pre pregnancy Jeans now although some are still a bit tight but I can do them all up at least. I still have about a stone and a half to lose to get to a healthy weight but I'm on the way at least. Tomorrow we go to New York for 5 days. I'll try not to undo all my good work but going to enjoy myself too!

avocadoincident · 22/02/2020 15:27

@Shefliesonherownwings have a fantastic time in the big Apple 🍎
I'd love to have a PT, I'd like one 24/7 to keep me on track constantly.
Sounds like they are working with you as 6lb is super.

My jeans are fitting better and I can breath in them now, but then sometimes I just wonder if the elastic in the fabric has just actually stretched

avocadoincident · 22/02/2020 15:28

Also I've been crocheting this morning and Fitbit thought I was doing very well!

Dozer · 22/02/2020 15:35

Hi all, just popping in to say that your efforts are inspiring and wishing you well.

I struggled with health/lifestyle when having fertility issues, didn’t manage to do the positive things you’re all working on. In fact did all the wrong things! Eventually got some counselling which was really helpful, although still didn’t really address the lifestyle issues Blush. I was v v lucky to have two DC. A few years ago finally did manage to start to do better with food, exercise etc and have found this great for both physical and mental health.

You’re doing great. Keep plugging away, seek help if you ever get really low. best wishes Flowers

Dozer · 22/02/2020 15:36

Oh, and recommend podcasts if walking/jogging/at gym: so many out there, distracting from the effort and a small treat while working out!

BunnytheBee · 22/02/2020 15:48

@Shefliesonherownwings You’re doing so well with the weight loss. Yeah walking round the shops, trying things on and are hung bags is actually hard work!

@avocadoincident Sounds like you’re doing well

BunnytheBee · 29/02/2020 09:02

Hello everyone. I can’t believe another week has passed. I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t thought about eating etc that much and haven’t exercised since last weekend but going to do Zumba and yoga again today.

Also thinking of I’m going on this trip to Dubai then that might be an incentive to get in shape and lose weight!

BunnytheBee · 29/02/2020 15:18

So I’ve found a good way to help me eat well on a weekend... or at least an idea... I really love homemade soup usually veg but different every time. I just made a delicious soup with roasted cauliflower and potatoes and garlic and it was really nice to sit and eat it (while watching Love is a line) when I was feeling like reaching for junk food. It’d be nice with chicken too. I might try to make a big pan of soup every weekend.

avocadoincident · 01/03/2020 07:17

@BunnytheBee I agree. I make a vat of soup every week then freeze it in portions. Over time I've got a selection in the freezer now.

Part of my made up plan to lose weight is to have soup every weekday for lunch.

I'll post photos ofthe recipe of my new favourite soup for you when I get out of bed

BunnytheBee · 01/03/2020 11:30

@avocadoincident Thanks! I didn’t think of freezing it too. That’s a fab idea 💡

I think I need a new hand blender as ours broke and I’ve used the Nutri Ninja(?) which is like a smoothie maker and DH thinks it’s too smooth. So yesterday I didn’t use a blender and it was ok as a chunky soup but I need a blender really.

Shefliesonherownwings · 01/03/2020 11:55

Hi all. Hope you are all ok?

DH and I got back from the big apple yesterday. Shattered today but we had a nice time. It was good to get away from everything for a bit and be distracted by NY. I struggled a lot to fully enjoy it, I just felt so guilty that we were there because if our DD had been here we wouldn't have gone. But I tried to make the most of it. We went to Biagra Falls for the day on wednesday and it was amazing, absolutely stunning.

Back now and back into the good food and exercising tomorrow. We ate a lot of rubbish over there and I had a few cocktails, Moscow Mule being my new favourite today! We did do a lot of walking but I've put on a couple of pounds so need to get back into things now.

Just like @Bunnythebee I'm going to make some soups this week. WW has some nice ones. Off food shopping in a bit to stock up before a roast dinner at the in laws this afternoon.

Shefliesonherownwings · 01/03/2020 11:56

Niagra Falls not Biagra!

BunnytheBee · 01/03/2020 12:00

I’m glad you had a nice time @Shefliesonherownwings

I’m having a lazy day at the moment... 😬
