This is the thread for those of us in the TTC after loss penguin huddle who want to try to eat a more healthy diet, exercise more, lose weight or just feel better physically this year
🐧🐧🐧
@MrsMGE @Avocuddles @MissSparkles81 @SunshineCrocodile @Mumlili8 @VenusStarr @SunStruck

If I’ve missed anyone please tag them

How about we start by saying what our goals are whether that he the number on the scale, doing more exercise or just feeling better about ourselves?

I’m BunnytheBlueWhale (NC recently - see TTC thread). I’m 35 and probably weigh about a stone more than I’d like since I had my stillborn daughter in February. I don’t need to lose weight massively but having post-baby weight and no baby is a bit rubbish!

I’d like to lose a bit of a weight all over and also target my belly with brushing, moisturising and maybe microneedling at home...

I eat a lot of sugary snacks so want to massively reduce those and also try to take a healthy lunch to work to stop me spending so much money on food!

Omg @MissSparkles81 I'd LOVE this kind of a class!

I sometimes feel that I still have this party girl in me, you know. But when you hit your 30s, no one wants to go clubbing anymore, either because of kids or they're too tired or saving up etc.! (I say they...I'm one of "them" too! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Do you sometimes feel like you'd love to let loose and go on a wild one, dance till the early hours and then walk around the city laughing, kissing and having fun...?

Now, this brings me back to my university days... 😊 Oh, the good memories 😊 xxx

Avocuddles · 16/01/2020 20:08

@MissSparkles81 have ended up skipping band practice as have had a bit of shock. I've gone into more detail on the other thread but have a potential very faint line on a FRER. I've been feeling all over the place over the past couple of days. It's far far too early to tell but I'll keep you posted in a few days. If it turns out to be a false alarm then on Monday I get to ring the fertility clinic to book in my ovulation induction scan so trying to feel positive either way.....

MrsMGE · 16/01/2020 20:49

Oooh @Avocuddles fingers crossed, lovely! I hope this is it for you ❤️ xxx

MissSparkles81 · 16/01/2020 20:50

@MrsMGE oh I hear you ... I wish I could back sometimes to my party animal days. Right now im in my pjs contemplating going to bed 🤣🤣

@Avocuddles eeeeee!! Off to see your post on the other thread ❤

MrsMGE · 16/01/2020 20:53

@MissSparkles81 I'm just about to have a shower and get in my pjs too...I REALLY fancy a wild one at some point though, we're talking Ministry of Sound here!

Meanwhile... VS joggers or Matalan lounge pants... #lifechoices #whatislife 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

MrsMGE · 16/01/2020 20:58

Also, it's the second BFP in 2 weeks since we've started our healthy thread... it might be coincidence, but I'd like to think this is how it's going to go for all of us on here! Sign of things to come??? Just saying! 🌈🤞

On that note, @LASandOtto miss you girl, hope you're keeping well xxx

BunnytheBlueWhale · 16/01/2020 22:09

I’m feeling really tense again tonight. I hate feeling like this. On the plus side I’ve got tomorrow off but hopefully I’ll manage to enjoy my day rather than overthinking things. Maybe I’m tired.

MrsMGE · 16/01/2020 22:31

Hey, @BunnytheBlueWhale, what's up?

Avocuddles · 16/01/2020 22:56

@MrsMGE I hope you're right! I'm not classing the super faint line as a BFP yet. Maybe come Sunday or Monday I might, all being well. I don't have the option of denying it for too long though if things do work out as I'll need to get back on the enoxaparin injections ASAP. In the meantime I'm going to keep going with the healthy eating and stay focused on that. I think a part of me is more scared of a BFP than a false alarm but I'll cross that bridge next week. And hopefully there will be many many rainbows here before the year is through!

@BunnytheBlueWhale sorry you're feeling tense, I hope you manage to relax tomorrow x

MrsMGE · 16/01/2020 23:01

@Avocuddles Yep, I get what you mean. I guess no other choice now than to wait a couple of days, test again and hopefully injenctions from next week then. In the meantime focus on being good, at least it's a good distraction! Xxx

BunnytheBlueWhale · 16/01/2020 23:43

I have my fingers crossed for you @Avocuddles That’s a good line for 9DPO

@MrsMGE I just don’t know if I’m tired, hormonal, or if it’s because it’s coming up to a year for our DD, I have just been a bit emotional this week. I’m sure it is just something trivial like not having had enough sleep

SunStruck · 17/01/2020 00:46

@MrsMGE haha oh me too! I really miss those young and carefree uni days 😄 I lived in Manchester then so have frequented X amount of Warehouse Projects, Sankey's, and obviously Ministry of Sound in London.... I would love a club night if it starts at 7, I can't stay awake to go to a club that opens at 11 anymore 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

@bunnythebluewhale I'm sorry you're feeling low, take it easy this weekend and have a nice bath with some nice oils, a good book and just look after yourself ❤️

@avocuddles already replied to the other thread in regards to BFP :) in regards to wine, I'm also doing well at Dry Jan, not touched a drop! Especially since I really wanted to give it my all now on this medicated cycle. Was difficult yesterday when DH opened a really nice bottle of Malbec, my favorite 🙁

In other news, I had the most amazing pizza yesterday as a treat to start the weekend, felt I deserved it after the whole week of eating well 😄 it's a sourdough pizza so healthier base, and I only had half and froze half 👌 Washed down with a Diet Coke, the strongest beverage I'll drink nowadays 🤣 I'm not even drinking coffee or tea (just decaf tea) this cycle...

MrsMGE · 17/01/2020 06:32

@SunStruck I sometimes think I'm a prime candidate for a midlife crisis, I suspect I'll be feeling nostalgic in my 40s, quit my job, become super fit and go out clubbing again 😂🙌 Ooh, I bet Manchester was a good party! Also, forgot to say earlier, happy pay rise January! I've had one too, not as good as I hoped for, but by definition it's good news, so no complaints. With you on the decaff front... I bloody hate decaff, it tastes of socks. I love my proper Italian coffee, the darkest of dark espressos, mmmm. Miss it soooo much! Admittedly I sometimes treat myself on Saturday morning. Personally, I'd choose a good coffee over coke, I don't do fizzy drinks at all. I remember from childhood how my trainer yelled at us for drinking fizz and she was right, caffeine and sugar (or aspartam, even worse) are probably the worst for your overall health and wellbeing. Obvs your treat can is totally fine because it's a treat! My best friend drinks a can every day and she's around 5 months pg, it mortifies me every time I see it 👀. Happy weekend to you and all of us, we've made it, girls - another week of 2020 and we're doing well! Xxx

MrsMGE · 17/01/2020 06:40

@BunnytheBlueWhale You've been saying about lack of sleep for a while, do you often get trouble sleeping? Are you feeling you have too much on your mind? For me the only thing that works is to completely wind down before bed, leave work on time, as SunStruck said, a bath, a book, dark room, no TV, no phone and get into bed before 9pm. You might feel bored, but you'll fall asleep and likely have a much better sleep. Also sleep mask, lavender oil and meditating in bed. It does sound like you're feeling a bit emotional and tired because you've got something playing on your mind that is causing it, it might be the date. Be extra kind to yourself, I don't think anyone on here can say that they weren't affected by it, so that's completely understandable. Xxx

SunStruck · 17/01/2020 07:15

@MrsMGE I hate decaf too but what to do 🥺 it's really good you don't drink fizzy drinks at all, I do love a Diet Coke but just one on the weekends as a treat! Definitely not an every day job. Well let's make a pact, if this baby thing isn't flying when we're 40, let's quit our jobs and go back to studying (any course will do) at uni and go clubbing every week! 🙌🙌🤣🤣 we can pre-drink in our halls with Pony blaring in the background... how do that sound 🤪 I do refuse to go back to drinking Glen's vodka though....

Great start of the weekend, me and DH went to the gym this morning (just did 45min cardio), and I'm currently having a nice brekkie with fried eggs, mushrooms and Linda McCartney veggie sausages! They are soooo good for those of you who haven't tried, made of tofu protein but actually taste of meat. The Quorn sausages are good too!

MissSparkles81 · 17/01/2020 07:26

@MrsMGE I hope you went with the VS ones 😝 I caved and went to bed at 9 last night. Was exhausted after an emotional day in work.

Avocuddles · 17/01/2020 07:32

@SunStruck @MrsMGE I've found Yorkshire Tea Decaf is pretty good. The others all taste awful though! My other decaf favourite is rooibos / redbush tea which is naturally decaffeinated. I used to be a caffeine junkie but have cut it back to 2 or 3 drinks a day over the past year.

I went to uni in London and as a result was too impoverished to do anything other than hang out in friends houses with Glens, Corner ship wine or White Lightning. Ahhhhh, those were the days! I lived with goths so that's the soundtrack to my uni years, along with Oasis and hey ya by OutKast Smile

LASandOtto · 17/01/2020 07:47

Really happy again to read your positive news @Avocuddles and I've responded on the other thread!

Ladies, sorry for the silence - been reading on the thread here and there but work has been one of those several hours of overtime daily and it means in the evening I've lethargically sat on the sofa unable to do much at all!

Well done to all doing so well on the healthy food front - I've been mostly good too! Feel bloated atm and not hungry whatsoever so that's a welcome change (the bloating less so obviously 😷), I usually have a very healthy appetite!

@MrsMGE I'm with you on no fizzy drinks and also decaf, what even is that stuff made of? The way it's processed to decaf is actually a rather questionable process. I've been on decaf for a few months as wanted to do 'all the right things' to help us along but oh my, I basically only drink coffee now if it's from a good coffee shop who have decent decaf. Tea is a bit easier of course but coffee is really what I love!

@BunnytheBlueWhale the advice from @MrsMGE for getting better sleep is spot on. Trying to find ways to empty the mind and calm the body is important for restful sleep. I also have a lovely pillow spray from Bamford and a few spritzes are just perfect to create a comfy environment in bed for a good night's sleep.

Cannot believe another week is over!

@Seahawk80 I was very sorry to hear about your news and I wanted to send you a big hug. How are you feeling? I can relate with your comment mentioning that once you know, you can deal with your feelings and be sad and feel what you need to feel. Being in limbo is just the worst. How are you doing?

Have a good Friday everyone!

BunnytheBlueWhale · 17/01/2020 08:11

It’s not as easy as that with the sleep thing. I’ve had trouble sleeping on and off for years. At the moment I’m struggling. It doesn’t matter what time I go to bed, some nights, I just lie here. Pillow sprays dont help, an audiobook doesn’t help, asmr doesn’t help. A bath helps for a bit but then my midn starts going again. I just feel worked up. Not every night but it’s hard to catch up on sleep after a bad night as I get up early for work or get woken up by DH.

I’m struggling a bit. DH and I had a bit of an argument this morning as we said we’d dtd last night then he said can we do it in the morning. After being awake for 20 mins and being on his phone he said he didn’t have time! It’s not the end of the world but annoyingly he’s been coming to bed all week and waking me up to dtd and now I’m probably coming into my fertile period we don’t manage it. And then he said “being depressed is not sexy!” I am not depressed. I’m a bit down which I think is understandable... He probably didn’t even mean that. I think he felt under pressure. But I’d wish he’d control his mouth! And then he had to leave for work so I’m just left feeling shifty at home alone.

BunnytheBlueWhale · 17/01/2020 08:37

I’ll be fine. Ignore my rant. I’m not having a great day obviously!

OP posts:
Avocuddles · 17/01/2020 09:15

@BunnytheBlueWhale you're entitled to rant away! Your DHs comment was uncalled for and insensitive - if he had concerns about your mental health then the way he has acted is really the opposite of how he should behave. It's understandable that you are frustrated about not DTD at what may be the key time for you. I do get how hard it must be for men to feel like they are expecting to perform on demand, but you're in this together and it takes two to get the result you dream of. Hopefully the dust will have settled when he gets home later and you can have some quality time together this weekend?

BunnytheBlueWhale · 17/01/2020 09:27

@Avocuddles He definitely doesn’t react well but it will have blown over already. We have spoken and I still feel upset but think I was going to feel that way today whatever happens. I was annoyed as he did say last night he’s tired and can we do it in the morning and then this morning said he never has time in a morning. He said sorry and that he’s tired and I think we’ll probably be fine when he gets home and maybe even dtd do I’m going to try to have an easy day

I replied to you on the other thread (I deleted the first comment as I tagged someone else by accident) but I’m crossing my fingers for you that this is it 🤞

OP posts:
LASandOtto · 17/01/2020 09:40

@BunnytheBlueWhale you're allowed to rant - this is what we are here for.

I get your frustration, when it's fertile time you want to maximise every opportunity. I know it can be portrayed as if we (women) are the ones asking for schedule sex during this period and that it can appear no issue for us to DTD, but even for us, there is pressure to perform. Pressure to have to DTD at the right time or risk missing that elusive window. I recall being at school where they made it out that as much as getting within 10cm proximity of a male reproductive organ would get you pregnant, and now here we are carefully measuring temperature, peeing on sticks and having to have timed fun!

I hope it all blows over with DH. Maybe if you're feeling up for it, surprise him with a nice dinner or so, I know he was an a** this morning but he's probably feeling the pressure as much as you are. My OH is a serial phone 'news' reader in bed in the mornings and then never has time for anything else either.

X

BunnytheBlueWhale · 17/01/2020 09:44

Thanks @LASandOtto I will make dinner tonight. I do most nights but last night he was home late as he had a seminar so he didn’t want dinner and I didn’t cook and that can’t have helped. How are you?

OP posts:
LASandOtto · 17/01/2020 10:02

I feel really shattered today but gladly today is my work from home day. I've had a really hectic week at work. It's good as it keeps my mind busy but bad as I am really tired too!

Otherwise I feel fine, thank you. Time goes very slowly once you have had a positive pregnancy result I find, whereas beforehand time just sort of flies by!

I'm going to go for a walk later and want to get something nice for my DH as a small surprise this evening. He's been really great - our flat sale is now near completion and there's loads of back and forth on emails. I cannot even fathom to read all the emails and work out all our questions and he's just dealing with all and keeping me in the loop. He's been really supportive as I've been quite anxious / hormonal and at times lose my rag which isn't very like me. So just wanted to thank him and will get something small gesture - wise, probably a nice slice of cake as he loves his sweets and he's been on a healthy diet with me 😂
