@mellymoo86 I though that you dtd over the surge ready for the egg release as you dont know when exactly it's going to happen. I believe you have a 24-36 hour window after the surge to ovulate. As long as theres something there for the egg to fertilise with that should be job done! That's why they say after OV it's pointless as it can take time for the sperm to meet the egg in the fallopian tube.

@mellymoo86 okay cool so still early days! Obviously it feels like forever but it can take up to a year 🥺 as you know lol gah so annoying!

Anyway my low down I had the copper iud like 3 times over 5 years (i kept changing it every year and a half because I was getting bad pain) anyway been off it since April and was casually trying up till September when we have been tracking properly.
What I dont understand is I was in a relationship for 5 years a s teenager never got pregnant (never used contraception young and dumb) anyway then I got pregnant after 6 years and then after that i got pregnant again but didnt follow through with it! So I'm confused because I thought that I had "opened" that doorway so to speak (that's why I got an iud so no accidents) so thought it would just happen from then on! But it hasn't.

Hopefully it will soon though
I had a scan to see if I was having an ectopic last month and I scanned literally the day before ovulation and it was all fone ovaries good etc so I know it's all in working order no cysts or anything! Guess sometimes these things just take time! I'm 27 x

Ellsbells112 · 14/11/2019 19:18

@Skygirl1983 yeah you catch it by making sure sperm is there beforehand that's definitely correct.

So with EWCM I researched that it needs to be gone within 4 days otherwise you have "tried" to ovulate without properly ovulating?? But if its below 4 days of ot then don lt worry because I also read that it can happen afterwards to sometimes

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:20

@Skygirl1983 yeah I did. So I peaked in Sunday and dtd Saturday/Sunday (twice)/ Monday.

Hmm that's weird about the ewcm, says on YouTube that cm will change once implantation occurs, is it browny colour or anything? Some cases of early implantation has happened too, you never know..

Skygirl1983 · 14/11/2019 19:22

@Ellsbells112 ah ok. Well I should be 2dpo so will keep an eye on it over the weekend. I'll be gutted if I haven't OV'd. Not going to lie a felt really deflated when I read that just then :(

@sh84 I'm so sorry for your losses. I can't even imagine what you've been through.

We've defo lost @Louu99. I hope she's not sat swearing at her phone wondering why it won't let her post!

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:23

@Ellsbells112 yeah sometimes it can just take time and a bit of of luck. It's good you got checked at least it gives you some peace of mine. I'm def not waiting one year, I'm going to the GP in Jan. by then it would be 4 months trying. I have no patience and I have no time to be wasting lol

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:24

@Skygirl1983 but didn't you do the cheapie sticks? Or were you going by how your body was reacting and cramps? To be honest you know your body better than any stick so I wouldn't worry at all 🤗

mrsio · 14/11/2019 19:26

I think the day before ov is supposed to be the best to DTD. That's why they say to start as soon as you get a positive opk and for 2-3 days coz you don't know when you'll actually ovulate. I got ovulation pains about 13hrs after I got my peak opk. But could have peaked a bit earlier coz it was first thing in the morning when I got the peak

Skygirl1983 · 14/11/2019 19:28

@mellymoo86 yeah I used the easy@home sticks to give me an idea as well as the tracking app and looking out for my usual signs. All signs lead me to Monday. I definitely had the pain in my side all of Monday too. Will keep an eye on the CM but it's still light in colour and EW in texture

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:28

@mrsio that's true...so seems like I followed that so fingers crossed! Argh, wish I can shove a camera up and go see my egg and what she's doing. Probably drowning in Nutella 😂

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:29

Ok that's good @Skygirl1983 all indicates you did ovulate. So keep a eye like you said and see how it progresses.

Skygirl1983 · 14/11/2019 19:30

I wonder though if it could be to do with the preseed lube? Never used it before so can that hang around a bit and affect CM??

OP posts:
mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:32

@Skygirl1983 I was extra wet for the entire day when I did put it in that was about it really. Next morning it was back to normal

Skygirl1983 · 14/11/2019 19:36

I suppose I'll just wait and see. Something else for me to obsess about for the next few days! Lol

Hiya can I join you ladies?
Have had some problem pinpointing ovulation this cycle. Currently on CD15 with a 28 day cycle, so should have been yesterday or today. I reckon I got a dodgy batch of opks!
I'm on cycle 2 of ttc after a tfmr back in August.

Skygirl1983 · 14/11/2019 19:43

@MrsC89 welcome. Not that we are all experts judging by our latest chat! Haha! But we can try and help. What have you been using? Have you had any positives with your opk? Do you get any other signs around OV?

OP posts:
mrsio · 14/11/2019 19:46

@MrsC89 welcome. So sorry about your tfmr.

mrsio · 14/11/2019 19:48

I have always ovulated CD15 in the past but was CD18 this month so just keep testing

Mangaroo · 14/11/2019 19:54

@Skygirl1983 Thank you for the new thread! And fingers crossed for your 2ww!

@nt1992 sorry to see no more lines, hope luck comes your way soon!

@sh84 Thank you for sharing your story, good luck with baby #5! I also have this feeling of 'greedy' thinking how can I possible want another child, when I am already blessed with one? But then, the desire is there, so what to do...

Ellsbells112 · 14/11/2019 19:56

@Skygirl1983 sorry I didnt mean to deflate you!! Just what I read doesnt meant it's happened to you though! Maybe it is the preseed? Or maybe it's a good sign? I think some people experience EWCM when they've concieved too? I think theres too many possibilities to worry though so sorry ❤

@mellymoo86 I know what you mean I told my partner we can try for like 3 more months then I'm going docs 🤣🤣

MrsC89 · 14/11/2019 19:57

@Skygirl1983 I have been using cheap opks started testing at cd9, blank until cd12 when there was a really faint line (which I know is still a negative), cd13 the line was the same. Cd14 not a sign of anything, then today CD15 back to a faint line. I tested twice cd13,14 and today and there weren't any that looked any different.
Yesterday had lots of EWCM, then back to nothing today. I dont get any ovulation pains or anything normally so I just dont have a clue!
@mrsio thank you. I will carry on with the opks and see if I ovulate later than normal!

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 19:58

@Ellsbells112 I said the same! Lol. Getting to 3-4 months is hard enough 🙁

mrsio · 14/11/2019 20:04

Luckily I'm an old bird so I can go to the doctors after 6 months of trying. I think some areas it's 2 years if you're under 35! I'm sorry but I wouldn't be waiting that long!

mellymoo86 · 14/11/2019 20:07

@mrsio oh gosh that is way to long. Is this your first?
