Thanks @Anny27 I don't sleep properly or wake up at the same time so tenos all over the place so App can't handle it so I don't get any useful I formation from it so I think OPKs are the way forward for me.

timswifey · 12/01/2020 08:06

It's now CD37 and AF still not here although I have a feeling she may arrive today.

Before being on the pill (and I only took it for a few months while I was getting married/going on honeymoon) my cycle was like clockwork. 30 days.

I think things just got delayed this month, actually looking forward to AF now so we can start again next month.

whatsthecraic91 · 12/01/2020 09:41

Sorry about my meltdown yesterday morning!! All good now we had a good talk yesterday and we had a really romantic night last night and DTD! He’s had a tough week at work so I think it was getting to him on top of me being like WE NEED TO DO IT NOW!!! 😂

@MIW01 - just keep swimming 😂 love it! I defo recommend the CB ones but they are so expensive!

@timswifey so annoyed for you that AF isn’t here yet!! No signs?

@Lozzlepop that’s true I suppose no point sitting at home! Sorry there’s been no progress for you yet, must be so hard 😔

@Anny27 welcome back to TWW craziness, I’ll be joining you soon, app says I’m due to ovulate tomorrow but temperatures are still lowish so hopefully not too much longer!!

Going for a walk and then making a big chicken dinner! Also may I add I lost 6lbs since New Year’s Day I am absolutely delighted with that!! Just 5 more pounds to go and I’ll be happy!! Have a great day everyone

ValidUser · 12/01/2020 19:32

Hello all! Long time no talk.

Just getting ready for IVF in the next month to 6 weeks and popping my head in the door.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Did I miss anything good? X

@whatsthecraic91 well done on the weight loss!

No AF still - I'm wondering, if my ovulation got delayed I could have conceived when I thought my fertile window was over, and it would still have been too early to get a BFP...?!

Going to test again this Saturday if AF still hasn't arrived.

Hi @ValidUser good luck with IVF.

Anny27 · 13/01/2020 10:01

@MIW01 yeah temping and bad sleep habits is a bad combo. I find it makes my sleep worse as well as I am anxious to take my temp!

@timswifey quite possibly could have ovulated later! Esp with the stress you said you had. Yep test in a few days :)

@whatsthecraic91 glad you managed to DTD :D hope ovulation happens soon!

@ValidUser hi lovely! Hope all goes well for your first cycle - does the process start in Feb or is it the actual ivf?

1dpo now 🙌 let the crazy symptom spotting begin. I dont know if I will be worse now that I have been pregnant before so I will be looking out for what it was like the tww that I was pregnant! Hope I dont go too crazy!!

orangeloo · 13/01/2020 11:28

@lozzlepop thanks I don't know how they justify 3 years either. I'm feeling okay, okay as in I'm absolutely desperate for a baby haha but I'm still hopeful it will happen naturally I feel I have another 6 months of sanity in ttc naturally. The. if no joy or nhs tests don't show anything I will go private to a fertility specialist. Any news with you?

@whatsthecraic well done on your weight loss!

@validuser , wishing you all the best for your ivf. Please keep us updated

whatsthecraic91 · 13/01/2020 12:11

@ValidUser wishing you all the best! Please keep us updated! 🤞🏼

@timswifey that’s so frustrating! Maybe you did ovulate later due to stress? It’s annoying not knowing tho!

@Anny27 I might join you on the TWW tomorrow! My app says ovulation today but that is probably going on past cycles and not my temperatures - but my temp was up this morning. When will I know if I’ve ovulated? Is it if my temp stays up?

@orangeloo fingers crossed it happens soon so you don’t have to go down that route?

Thanks ladies Im trying my best to keep the healthy eating up! DP lost 4lbs too! He’s struggling not having a couple of beers at the weekend but I told him he can do what he likes after I ovulate 🤣

I have the GP in the morning! Any advice for me? I’m really unsure of what info they will need from me!

Kiza · 13/01/2020 12:22

Hi all,
Still in Cape Town but unfortunately AF got me on Saturday, was really down as I truly thought the fertile window over Christmas would prove stress free and enjoyable enough to conceive 😖 on to cycle 17 and more tests when we return from holiday.

Sorry I've not been able to read back over all the messages over the last 2 weeks.

Kiza · 13/01/2020 12:23

@whatsthecraic91 when we had our 1st GP appointment we went together and gave details of previous medical and sexual history. Additionally I went armed with my app to give an average stats of my cycle over the last year.
That was all they needed to start with the initial tests.

ValidUser · 13/01/2020 17:46

Thanks for all the well wishing! @orangeloo you will all be sick of the updates!

My boss knows about the plan now, which helps. He's been very supportive.

@Anny27 I meet my specialist the day before my 30th birthday later this month, and then get started once I hit the right point of my cycle.

ValidUser · 13/01/2020 17:47

@whatsthecraic91 what country are you in?

If NHS, be assertive. If HSE, go private early. X

OP posts:
Anny27 · 13/01/2020 18:45

@whatsthecraic91 ovulation is usually confirmed if your temps are elevated for 3 days :) so it might be that it tells you retrospectively!

@kiza sorry that AF arrived lovely :( hope you have had a lovely holiday though!

@ValidUser ahh shouldnt be too long then :D that's awesome!

whatsthecraic91 · 13/01/2020 18:56

@Kiza sorry about AF, I know I felt the same about our December hol thinking relaxing environment would help! Hope you’re having a lovely time! I’m going alone as DP and I have different GP practices! I have my app with a year of data if they want to see it!

@ValidUser that’s great you have your boss’ support it will make everything easier! I’m in NI and from what I read funding for treatment here is shite. Gonna push for the 21 day test and a scan if I can get it, I had an ovarian cyst 2 years ago but no trouble since!

@anny27 thank you! Hopefully today is the day then! I’ll keep an eye on my temps this week then, wish I had started it sooner as I’m finding it really easy!

1990shopefulftm · 13/01/2020 19:52

most of the things you can't do/take whilst pregnant i'd given up before starting ttc, but it only felt difficult today with severe knee pain and i couldn't bring myself to take anything. Fortunately got physio booked for friday, my knees have always been an issue on and off for me though.

ValidUser · 13/01/2020 20:42

@whatsthecraic91 depending on where you are, popping over the border and getting the basic tests done is a viable option. Not the most costly thing, and can be done through most GP.

OP posts:
whatsthecraic91 · 13/01/2020 21:10

@ValidUser really! I thought just paying private up here would have been cheaper than heading south?

ValidUser · 13/01/2020 23:43

@whatsthecraic91 depends on what you're looking for, and I may not be entirely in the know, but a gp in the south may just send bloods for the cost of a consultation (about €60). As far as I know, bloods off the NHS tend to actually charge for the tests.

A HSG with GP referral is €285. No need to see a specialist until everything is done.

And by then you should be entitled to any intervention on the NHS. But hopefully everything is fine and no intervention required!

whatsthecraic91 · 14/01/2020 08:22

@ValidUser thanks, I’ll see how this morning goes and then I can do some research!!

@Anny27 temping queen can you help me? Am I right in saying Flo seems to have it right? So I’m 3DPO! Femometer is annoying me 😂

@whatsthecraic91 I would say you ovulated on the 12th Jan - keep temping and then you will see a pattern. My temps sometimes go up straight away or sometimes are a bit gradual.

2dpo for me today :)

Anny27 · 14/01/2020 08:52

@whatsthecraic91 mine for reference this month

TTC First Baby Thread 23
whatsthecraic91 · 14/01/2020 11:24

@Anny27 thanks, I will see if it maybe changes the next couple of days!

So back from the doctors and I am so happy with how it went! Getting my blood test on Friday which is day 20 of my cycle but she said it doesn’t matter, she’s pretty sure I’m ovulating anyway as I have regular AF & have had positive CB tests. My referral won’t be accepted until DP does his sperm sample so he is sorting that this week. She said I should be on the list from next week after our results and I will have a date for a scan and HSG test within 12 weeks. I can’t believe how fast it will all be! I have instantly relaxed so here’s hoping I don’t need the scan or test. 🙂

timswifey · 14/01/2020 11:39

@Anny27 yes am planning to test on Saturday if nothing by then. It's CD39 now.

Actually starting to symptom-spot now. Very vivid dreams last night plus noticed white spots on my nipples this morning.

@whatsthecraic91 glad GP went well.

ValidUser · 14/01/2020 14:06

@whatsthecraic91 that's brilliant. So glad it went well!
