Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

Fuming that AF has arrived but not all together surprised - DH works in politics and has been very busy lately. Anyone else struggling with a very busy other half? We are both so looking forward to being parents but DTD has been such a low priority ☹️

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 21:05

@Hannahb26 so sorry to hear that . I empathise with the busy husband situ !! This month has been the first one yet where we’ve actually managed to DTD more than before . Can’t say it’s worked as I’m due to ovulate tomorrow I think but it’s really awful when you have such a short time frame to have sex in . 💐

We're always too tired in the week, but that will have to change!

LeaBri · 10/12/2019 21:14

@itsemily @Hannahb26 tell me about it! My partner refuses to do week day DTD so that just leaves us weekends which makes me terrified we are going to miss our slot!

@itsEmily we have been trying for 3 months with the month being our third cycle, how about you guys?

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/12/2019 21:19

@CurbsideProphet I only work 9-4 so I’m quite lucky but my husband struggles . It’s hard work isn’t it ! But we’ve changed lifestyle up a bit so he’s more relaxed . Like changed our diets etc and added more fun into our lives , hoping it carries on like this lol

CurbsideProphet · 10/12/2019 21:30

@LeaBri is he too tired from work? Could you compromise on week night DTD on fertile week? We're only on our 2nd month of ttc, so I'm trying to make it clear that if we seriously want to ttc we have to look at when I'm most fertile.

CurbsideProphet · 10/12/2019 21:31

We both work normal 9-5 so we don't have much excuse, other than weekend DTD is our norm Grin

CurbsideProphet · 10/12/2019 21:33

@Hannahb26 crikey busy time for him! It's really difficult to not make DTD another chore that needs to be done Confused

LeaBri · 11/12/2019 07:21

@CurbsideProphet yeah he’s too tired and just like you, we only usually DTD on weekends so to do it on week days makes it’s sole focus on baby making and then he can’t finish from the pressure Blush I have said I just won’t mention it but he knows what’s happening when I initiate on a week day! Why is it so hard haha

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 07:55

@LeaBri my husband was starting to struggle to finish so we made a deal where if he isn’t too tired and fancies it, then he needs to make the first move as I was getting embarrassed if I initiated and he said he was tired . But since sticking to the every 2-3 days fingers crossed he’s been ok other than a blip the other day but that was due to work problems on his mind . But I’ve noticed since saying let’s do it more often and not just for baby making , he’s been more into it so maybe have a word with your husband about generally wanting to do it more ?
I’m really hoping we caught it this month , if we haven’t then it proves it really is just luck !!

CurbsideProphet · 11/12/2019 09:29

I'm 34 today, so we need to start DTD more often if we want to get on with ttc!

@LeaBri all those years of being careful etc and now it's not really that easy to get pregnant after all. Who would have thought?! Hmm Grin Grin

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 12:13

@CurbsideProphet happy birthday lovely lady !! 💐💕 have a lovely day and don’t stress .

You’re right though all those years of thinking you need to be careful because you can get pregnant from having unprotected sex and now look at us 😂🤞🏼

Happy birthday @CurbsideProphet! Have a great day!

I’ve heard the saying that women spend their twenties trying not to get pregnant and their thirties trying to get pregnant... so true for me!

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 18:09

@Konbanwa how are you getting on with your BFP ?? Can’t stop thinking about how excited your DH must be !! Best Christmas present or what?!?

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 18:10

So last night my OPK was pretty much positive , we DTD luckily , as well as Sunday when the EWCM appeared . Today the OPK is negative , does that mean I’ve ovulated already??

Konbanwa · 11/12/2019 18:43

Hey @ItsEmily things are going strange here! Currently under observation by the EPAU due to constant abdominal pain, and I've been having blood tests every other day to check that my hcg levels are increasing as they should be. The last one only increased by 60% rather than 100% so I have to have yet another blood test on Friday.

At the moment I'm just full of anxiety and stress, and we are just hoping that everything is ok and the baby sticks! I haven't been bleeding though which is a good sign!

Hope all is going well for everyone here!

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 19:19

@Konbanwa all the best , please keep us posted . I hope it all stays positive .

Have you got any tips for coping with the TWW? I think I have most likely ovulated today

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 11/12/2019 19:37

@ItsEmily Thanks! I hope it's all ok but I'm feeling so low about it all.

In regards to the TWW I think the best way is to just not really think about it (easier said than done I know!). I thought I was completely out during mine so didn't worry about it at all!

But it seems like all the stress and anxiety is creeping up on me now!

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/12/2019 19:50

@Konbanwa you’re proof that you don’t have to DTD everyday to get a positive !! What did DH say ?? So you didn’t have any symptoms or anything ?
My nipples hurt today so I think that’s ovulation but idk anymore lol . I’m trying to switch off as I know we’ve given it our best shot and will continue until AF is due . Due to test Xmas day!!

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 11/12/2019 19:54

@ItsEmily My DH was thrilled!

I had sore boobs and headaches before I tested but I just thought it was due to AF and stress at work!

CurbsideProphet · 11/12/2019 19:56

@Konbanwa I really hope the blood tests go well on Friday. It must be a nervy time for you.

Thank you @ItsEmily and @notalwaysalondoner I feel a little bit melancholic because I always thought by 34 I would have had a baby, however, we're ttc now and I have to focus on that.

hopefulhel · 11/12/2019 22:49

Think I am out this month ladies. DTD every two days between cd12 and cd 22 and again on cd26 & 29. Usually have a 32/34 day cycle started spotting today at cd29 so think AF is on its way.

itsheapsswell · 12/12/2019 07:53

Hi all, craziness thing happened this morning. After a cycle of trying not to think about TTC, I took a test after my ovulation test came back at ‘peak’ on day 22 of my cycle- what I thought was far too late. I did a cheapy test and then a first response (as I PIAC instead of POAS) and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!
