Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@Jonesbabynumber1 you should consider going back and getting more tests. I had an internal and external scan that was showing cysts as I mentioned before irregular periods acne (which I'd never had before) and dark hairs in unusual places on my chest and chin. I had blood and they are within range. I notice some months are worse and better than others. Prior to taking the pill in January I had not been on contreception for 5 years I wasnt trying to get pregnant but I didnt do anything to prevent it either. My gp suggested a fertility referral but I wanted to try on my own properly first. I know they can give u medication called clomid not sure how effective it is.
Just wanted to give u an insight to my journey see if u can relate. But dont be to hard on yourself I'm sure you're doing everything you can. 🤞🏼 x

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/11/2019 15:10

@thorn19 thank you for that information yes I had internal ultra scan which they said was normal. I’m going to keep temping to see if I can get an understanding of my cycles if they still up and down I’ll go to gp. I think I find temping hard because I have restless nights which apparently can affect the temps. I’d love to try that ovusense but only being 3 cycles in I’ll leave it and see how I get on before spending out a lot of money. I wish I started tracking before trying to conceive but that be my advise to anyone get to know your body even if your not trying to get pregnant. Fingers crossed for baby dust.

Jonesbabynumber1 · 26/11/2019 08:47

I was due on yesterday IC still negative still no AF if I haven’t come on by tomorrow I’ll do a frer Thursday. It’s had to keep hopeful. I’ve been a moody cow so I expect AF to come.

notalwaysalondoner · 26/11/2019 10:28

@Jonesbabynumber1 I know, it’s tough - I was quite chirpy during cycle 2 but now I’m onto cycle 3 I’m starting to get a bit sad/frustrated/worried... I know it’s still early in the scheme of things but it’s just hard not knowing how long it will take. It’s been so helpful having all you ladies to talk to and to realise everyone else doesn’t get BFPs instantly either! I actually think people should talk more about how long it takes them to conceive - you tend to only hear about people when they have fertility issues, which gives the impression everyone else gets pregnant in month one!

Konbanwa · 26/11/2019 10:43

Hey guys! I hope that everyone is doing ok and sorry for being offline for a bit! I've been travelling with work so haven't been able to chat much.

As a quick update, I'm currently on cd20 and so kind of in the TWW. I used some OPKs at the weekend and saw the decline in my LH levels so I have definitely ovulated this month but I'm not sure if it was when I was in the country for us to catch it!

I think I'm probably out this month due to working away but we'll see! 🤞

@notalwaysalondoner I agree that this group is helpful in seeing how long it can take people to TTC and I find it very reassuring! Especially as life seems to keep getting in the way for me!

CurbsideProphet · 26/11/2019 11:41

Hi @Konbanwa I agree this thread is so reassuring.
I'm 9dpo and don't have any symptoms, so I'm expecting AF as normal on Monday.

Konbanwa · 26/11/2019 12:20

I'm expecting AF to show up next week as long as I have a normal cycle length this time and not a massive 45 day one again! 😬

Thorn19 · 26/11/2019 18:35

@Jonesbabynumber1 just try not to stress it. It will defo have an impact on your body if u do. I really hope you get some good news and the moods are due to pregnancy. 🤞🏼 My bf said to me this is only our second month stop acting like its the end of the world. But he doesn't understand. But it did make me think my AF was really unpredictable due to my stress and mood so it's probably the same with this.
@notalwaysalondoner you're right it is good that other people are also in the same boat and we can all talk about it. I've been doing the deed since the end of my period and think I ovulated a day ago so I'm just waiting and hoping now x

Thorn19 · 26/11/2019 18:44

@CurbsideProphet @Konbanwa I agree life takes over. Alls we can do is keep trying 🤞🏼

CurbsideProphet · 26/11/2019 18:48

We've only been trying for 1 month, so I'm trying to be realistic. Obviously I just want to be pregnant, but hopefully I will be in the new year.

Jonesbabynumber1 · 26/11/2019 20:05

@Thorn19 thank you yes stress does affect our bodies. My husband is like that he says it will happen and tries to make me see sense but he can’t see how easy his job is. I asked him how often he thought about it in a day he was like not often I said I probably think about it 100 time’s a day. Praying for some baby dust for us all

Cheyanne101 · 26/11/2019 20:47

Hey everyone! Sorry iv been MIA.. hope everyones well, sorry AF showed up for some but congrats to those who got their BFP!

I think i have to start using OPKs, personally i wanted to avoid them as they sound complicated Lol, but honestly my body is confusing me and not even sure when of if i do ovulate.. can anyone please advise on what are the best ones or maybe not the best ones? Thanks in advance girls xx

Thorn19 · 26/11/2019 21:02

@Jonesbabynumber1 it will never be on their mind as much as our but hopefully we all get good news the end of this year or the start of next

Thorn19 · 26/11/2019 21:05

Hi @Cheyanne101 I just used the pack of 40 off amazon and they cost about £6. They are quite good. I wish I had of used them earlier before I even started TTC just so I knew more about my body and cycle back then. If i was u i would start

CurbsideProphet · 26/11/2019 21:43

@Cheyanne101 I use the app Flo and log my periods in there. You can also add things like mood, discharge, physical symptoms. Flo gives you an indication of when you will likely ovulate and which days you are most fertile. It becomes more accurate the more that you use it.

I now notice ovulation symptoms because I know when I should be ovulating. I genuinely hadn't thought about CM or even really noticed it until we started ttc this month Blush

Thorn19 · 26/11/2019 22:25

@CurbsideProphet you should also maybe try Femometer. There u can do all what u mentioned above but also u can upload your OPKs and it measure what stage your LH level is at and it seems to be accurate too. Hope this helps

CurbsideProphet · 26/11/2019 22:37

I haven't started OPKs yet, because I'm not 100% sure what they are or what I do with them Grin I'm lucky that my cycle is a reasonably steady 25-26 days, so I know that I generally ovulate on day 11 or 12. I've promised myself that I will go with the flow until the new year...

ROCQ · 26/11/2019 23:58

Hi all!
I'm TTC this month too! I stopped taking my pill over a week ago and intentionally DTD over and over before stopping and right when I stopped (and after. My husband and I are basically rabbitsGrin) and I had my withdrawal like I should. But, I was regular before and I talked to my doctor so I don't think I'm far off... got some light pink and brown bleeding and today I thought I peed on myself a TON. After research it's looking like I'm super fertile. Could I be coming up on my BFP?? I've read people have gotten pregnant immediately doing all this lol

Thorn19 · 27/11/2019 06:59

@CurbsideProphet that's excellent that your cycle is pretty regular. Hopefully it wont take you long to conceive quickly.

Hi @ROCQ good luck in your journey I hope you get a BFP soon.

Does anyone know how soon after ovulation implantation takes place. I woke up early this morning with terrible lower abdo pains kind of what I would expect just before my monthly cycle (MC) however my MC is not due yet.. 🧐🤔

Jonesbabynumber1 · 27/11/2019 08:32

@Thorn19 they say most people implant on day 9 but it can be a few days either side x

notalwaysalondoner · 27/11/2019 09:19

@Thorn19 I also had my AF come 9 days after ovulation last month so hope you have implantation pains rather than AF pains - can’t believe how unpredictable everything has got now in TTC. But yes, 9dpo is most common.

gemgem1404 · 27/11/2019 10:54

@Cheyanne101 this is my first month using opk and I've just gone straight in with the Clearblue advanced digital. I think for me personally I'd get stressed out with the strips and I like the idea that the digital test gives you a clear reading, just hope they help cause they're much pricier than strips 😬

Konbanwa · 27/11/2019 11:23

@gemgem1404 I quite like the little strips as you can gradually see the line get darker over a few days and then it fades off again after ovulation. Also they have the benefit of being cheaper!

I like the sound of the clear blue one but just can't bring myself to justify the cost yet! Maybe when I've been trying for longer...

Good luck with it though and I hope you have good results!

ROCQ · 27/11/2019 13:09

@Thorn19
I'm trying to figure out the same thing! I had some pink and brown bleeding for a few hours on Sunday with cramps on the left side...

Tiamo04 · 27/11/2019 15:33

@Itsemily so I’m 9DPO today been spotting and cramping since 3/4DPO... had a strange dream at 7DPO... my legs have been sore and had insomnia last night... I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on but figured it’s symptom spotting as it’s our 1st month TTC... got positive OPK at 6-8DPO so just to make myself feel better I took a test this morning and got the faintest of lines🙈 think I’m just going crazy... will test again for the next few days and see if it gets any darker, fingers crossed*
