Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@hopefulhel try again in a few days if AF doesn't arrive. I don't think my app is accurate because if I only ovulated 8 days ago, I don't see how I am due AF today? Either way, no AF here. Lots of CM so I am still unsure. I'm just gonna chill out and test Friday.

HopingforfirstBFP · 11/11/2019 18:19

@itsemily I hope AF didn’t arrive for you today.

@itsheapsswell I tested this morning and I thought I could see a very very faint line but now I’m doubting myself. Will wait until Wednesday or Thursday before testing again. Hope you get a positive result on Friday! Fx.

hopefulhel · 11/11/2019 21:07

@itsemily I'm not holding out too much hope this month. Extremely stressed with work at the moment. Think that's the reason behind AF being late.

Kona84 · 11/11/2019 21:26

Currently on CD20 just got what I think is my first positive surge on an ovulation test.
Honestly thought I’d missed it but did a 9pm test and it’s definitely the darkest I’ve seen.
I’ve been testing since cd10.

I did the deed last night- am I right in thinking i have 12-36 hours until it’s game over for this cycle?

@HopingforfirstBFP oh wow!! That sounds so promising!! Fingers crossed for later on in the week. Is it your first month of trying? Can’t believe how excited it made me to think people on this threat will start seeing bfps imminently.

How is everyone feeling mentally this month? I have felt great most the month but the TWW is already killing me. Last month (month 1 of trying) I had no idea when I ovulated so I had far more days to agonise over the symptoms etc. This month I have a date I know I should test on and it means I’m not wasting money on tests but I hate the feeling I’m wishing my life away counting down days. I definitely won’t be able to do that again next month- I definitely need to take a lesson in living in the now and having less of a ‘the grass is greener’ attitude. Feel like none of my friends/partner can understand this and definitely won’t know what to do going forward if it’s a negative this month- is it better to know when I ovulate or not who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

CurbsideProphet · 11/11/2019 21:56

I track my period on Flo, so I know when I should be ovulating. I'm not sure I've ever felt proper symptoms of ovulation, but I do get EWCM which I take as a good sign.

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 07:08

@HopingforfirstBFP that sounds really promising , fingers crossed for you

I think my app is wrong as it seems too early for AF to come , especially if I did only ovulate the other day . I’m questioning it . But either way no it hasn’t arrived . DH and I tried to DTD last night to keep up with the every 2-3 days, it was day 3 and I think he’s getting sick of how often we do it (hardly ever compared to most couples) as he said he just couldn’t ‘perform’ . Hoping that we would’ve still caught the egg if I ovulated later than I thought or something as sperm can survive a few days can’t it?

notalwaysalondoner · 12/11/2019 09:56

@HopingforfirstBFP fingers crossed! Excited for the first positive on this thread!

@itsheapsswell I’m feeling ok, using OPKs for the first time which is kind of fun to see the line getting darker. I’m CD 12 now, expect to ovulate in next day or two. I found the TWW hard last month, was definitely symptom spotting and genuinely thought I was PG (and a bit freaked out at how quickly it happened!). But this month my boobs are sore before ovulation which never happened before so clearly I can’t rely on anything anyway! I know I’ll be really antsy on the TWW again but will follow the same approach of not testing until AF is one full day late as I think it really helped to not see lots of negative tests but still be hopeful.

TMI but I have had brown CM all month which never happened before. Anyone had this - have a doctors appointment for something else on Friday so might mention it...?

notalwaysalondoner · 12/11/2019 09:58

And @Itsemily your app is probably wrong unless you are including OPKs and temperature in it - if it’s just based on your period dates it won’t know. If you are including OPKs and temperature it should adjust automatically. I was in the same situation last month where i wasn’t sure which day would count as AF day to test on. In the end I went for the later option based on ovulation as didn’t want to get my hopes up which I think was the right approach for me. Good luck!

JEMMA18 · 12/11/2019 10:41

Hey everyone.
Hope your all well.
I'm at the dreaded wait stage, according to the app and the otk I'm 4 days po. AF would be due in 9 days. When is the earliest I can test? I don't have any symptoms other than extreme tiredness. I'm driving myself mad wondering if I am or not lol.
Hope your all well and everyone gets a bfp soon! :)

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 13:15

@notalwaysalondoner I am glad you're getting on ok using your OPK's, maybe mention the CM to the doctor when you go, it won't be anything to worry about though I'm sure.

Yeah because I'm not testing this month with OPK's or temping, I have no idea what's what so the app has obviously just gone to generic most common cycle. But it's OK we are going to just carry on as normal. Gonna try and DTD tonight if Husband is up to it, because I really want to keep it up so we know for sure that we have tried our best. I'm just worried about my Husband panicking about 'performance' etc.

@JEMMA18 I personally wouldn't test too early, just in case you get a false negative and stuff. Test the day after your period is due xx

@Konbanwa how are you doing?

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 12/11/2019 14:34

@Itsemily Hey! All is good here and my period seems to be winding down. Currently on cd6 and I think we are just going to take it easy this month. Just relax and see what happens 🤞

We seem to be following a similar plan this month!

I went a bit crazy with OPKs and symptom spotting on my last cycle so I'm trying to be more chilled out this time.

Hopefully this cycle won't be super long like last time!

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 14:36

@Konbanwa fingers crossed for you! It's a horrible place to get into when you are obsessed with tracking. I definitely feel better for not tracking but part of me hates the unknown!

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 12/11/2019 14:49

@Itsemily I know what you mean! I hate not knowing what's happening but I feel like it is going to help keep me (and my DH!) sane during this process!

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 17:12

@Konbanwa I just think as long as we DTD very 2-3 days surely we can’t miss it ? Unless we have a repeat of last night where it wasn’t a very successful night so we are onto day 4 of not DTD . I’m just hoping the little guys have stuck around

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 12/11/2019 17:35

@Itsemily That's what I'm thinking for this cycle. Just need to make sure that DH is on board with every 2-3 days and not make a big deal if we miss one. I agree with trying to keep the pressure off and tbh sometimes we are just too tired after a busy day at work!

The NHS say every 2-3 days should be fine so if I ovulate there should definitely be some guys hanging around ready to go! Ha!

On another note, has anyone had any of this awful rain? It feels like it has been non-stop rain for all of autumn this year!

Lea84TTC · 12/11/2019 18:28

@Itsemily I completely get about what you are saying about men feeling under pressure. My partner sometimes has been unable to finish because he is either tired or just unable to finish. I’ve tried to assure him it’s ok. We were trying every other day and on the occasions we weren’t successful we would try the next day so have been every 2/3 days at the least. However once I stopped ovulating he suddenly felt like it 2 days in a row. I don’t think he has ever had so much.

The 2WW seems to go on forever. I don’t think I am pregnant other than sore nipples. It seems so long until we can try again x

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 18:40

DH just never seems up to it after work and keeps going all funny on me saying ‘you’re making me feel bad’ so I am obviously showing disappointment without realising . He has already made a point of saying he’s tired today which means that’s 4 days without DTD so we are screwed if I have ovulated this week lol part of me wants to start tracking again so I have some idea where I am . I’m just praying we have some strong swimmers and have been successful the last few weeks as we have done it every 2-3 up until this week . I’m just so fed up

OP posts:
GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 18:46

And his attitude is ‘sperm can live a few days’ so he’s extra chilled out when really I want to make sure we give ourself the best chance but he would literally happily do it on the Monday and be pretty sure that the swimmers would still be there on the Friday if I was ovulating then. That’s his mentality , when really I’m freaking out in my head absolutely going mental 😂😂 if we miss it we miss it though, onto the next month. I’m not totally out until AF arrives anyway I guess . Before I know it I’ll be in my 40s 🥴😂

Hi everyone. I'm a lurker on this thread so I hope you don't mind me asking some advice! We are month 1 of trying (no OPKs or BBT readings just DTD in my fertile window) and AF was due on Sunday. I am usually regular so I was shocked that I was late and took a test yesterday which came back negative 😔 still no sign of AF today and can't help getting my hopes up even though negative test! Any advice?

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 19:43

@moonpie5 hello! Maybe a little early still ? Test in a few days . I have my fingers crossed for you !

Is your husband up for DTD regularly ? I need some advise on how to help my husband relax and not stress about stuff because I feel like I’m doing something wrong :(

OP posts:
hopefulhel · 12/11/2019 21:05

Think I am out this month. Started spotting today so expecting AF tomorrow. 😥😥😥

CurbsideProphet · 12/11/2019 21:59

@Lea84TTC and @Itsemily
I have similar issues with trying not to be all pushy like, "we must DTD to make a baby". But at the same time I fret that if we miss the window then that's it for the month. Such a tricky balancing act. I don't know the answer, other than keep talking and try not to fester with worry to yourself.

If it's any consolation we only tend do DTD around the weekend as we're tired in the week. My period is just ending now, so based on my cycle I'm likely to ovulate on Sunday. The most we'll DTD is Friday / Saturday / Sunday.

@Konbanwa oh my days the rain! We had a few hours without rain today and it was such a relief after the biblical downpour this morning!

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/11/2019 22:08

@curbside thank you that’s actually made me feel better . DH came round anyway in his own time and we’ve DTD . He seemed ok after tea lol

The rain is bad we’ve had flooding here . My sister in law got stranded in her car . Terrible !

@hopefulhel really sorry to hear that :(

Hey ladies!

I still haven’t had af arrive. I did another test today and I’m convinced there’s a faint line but OH can’t see it. I’ve increased the brightness on the original photo. What do you all think?? Confused
