Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

@Itsemily oh really that makes much more sense thank you! Best of luck to you also xx

TeddyToaster · 31/10/2019 17:42

Welcome @Cheyanne101 Bear

Cheyanne101 · 31/10/2019 19:17

Hi @TeddyToaster! thanks Grin lets hope we all get some good news soon! X

CurbsideProphet · 31/10/2019 19:33

Hi @Cheyanne101 Smile
I have a short ish cycle of usually 25 days which means I usually ovulate around day 11. Sometimes my cycle is 27 days which I ovulate 2 days later. Does your cycle tend to stay the same?

Cheyanne101 · 31/10/2019 20:51

Hey @CurbsideProphet Smile yeah i guess my cycle isnt exactly cockwork.. it used to be up until recently averaging 26 days and now 28-29 days so i do think my ovulation isnt the typical 14 day trend unfortunately. I notice the CM approx a week or after my period as opposed to 2 weeks later! Its so hard to pinpoint isnt it?! As @Itsemily said earlier DTD every other day help us much more rather than waiting for CD14Halloween Confused not always easy with work commitments etc Haloween Sad x

itsheapsswell · 31/10/2019 21:21

Thinking about all of you as you’re coming into the different parts of your cycles.

In some ways I think working out even WHEN you’re two week wait is the worst bit!

Today on CD11 and have started the first day of the Clearblue digital advance. It has made me stress slightly less because I know I have temperature taking to fall back on.

Today I used pre seed for the first time. My partner found it incredibly hilarious and we laughed for the first 10 minutes of the BD because it felt so weird!

Kinda expecting my ovulation in 10 days but for now I’m just going to chill out, try to enjoy spending a lot of time together and being obscenely grateful that I’m much more calm than I was last cycle.

I’m so exited to begin seeing the BFP’s that will inevitably begin to pop up on here (this is my attempt at visualisation that keep persuading my partner to give a go!).

CurbsideProphet · 31/10/2019 21:44

@Cheyanne101 we never really DTD in the week because DH is tired from more driving than me. I don't want to feel like I'm pawing at him, but we both want to have a baby and there's only a certain time of the month really when I can get pregnant. I really don't know if he realises that Confused Sad

Cheyanne101 · 31/10/2019 22:06

@itsheapsswell yeah i have to start them but its looking like i will have to as the confusion! But your right it should be an exciting positive time

@CurbsideProphet oh i hear u! My husband thinks that once in the fertile week should be enough but iv tried to explain how limited the time really is, im not necessarily in the mood everyday either lol but its what needs to happen and what was agreed lol 😂🙈 seems to be more like chore for him like emptying the diswasher! 🤷🏻‍♀️

notalwaysalondoner · 01/11/2019 09:54

Well I’m pretty sure AF had arrived so it’s not this month for us :(

Not sure whether to try OPKs or a clear blue OPK next month or if it’s just stressful. According to my temps we did DTD two days before and on the day of ovulation so not sure if OPK would have made a difference... the trouble with temping is it only tells you about ovulation after the fact, not before...

@Cheyanne101 welcome!

han2291 · 01/11/2019 12:49

@notalwaysalondoner I'm sorry 😔 maybe if you're willing to give them a go for a month or 2 the OPK's might help you fill in the blanks and you'll know O is due when you see the positive?

han2291 · 01/11/2019 13:09

@notalwaysalondoner make sure you enjoy your beer while you watch the rugby!! As long as we play like we did against NZ I think we'll win 💪🏼

@Itsemily sounds like you're giving it a really good chance! I think I read sperm can survive for about 5 days as well so there should be plenty there to meet the egg 🤞🏼

Hi @Cheyanne101 ☺️ welcome to the chat! Definitely possible to ovulate a week after your period or longer.. our bodies are all so different I kind of wish it was a "one size fits all" situation haha

@itsheapsswell dare I ask what using the pressed was like?! 😂

TeddyToaster · 01/11/2019 13:24

@notalwaysalondoner Bring on that December Ov!! At least December conception would mean babies that are the oldest in their school year (I'm a teacher - I think about these things! Haha!)!

Yeah, @itsheapsswell, I'm intrigued about Preseed now! Grin

Cheyanne101 · 01/11/2019 17:01

Hey everyone! Yeah i really do think i ovulated the week just after period i should have listened to my body instead of my app Angry lol im so impatient and want things done yesterday 😂😂

TeddyToaster · 01/11/2019 17:46

@Cheyanne101 I hear ya, pal! HmmSmile

itsheapsswell · 01/11/2019 18:12

@han2291 @teddytoaster i would definitely say give it a go if your budget allows it however it is the DEFINITION of a passion killer. I got my partner to insert it and so begun the childish laughing. I mean he felt more like my doctor than my romantic partner after inserting the syringe! He also said it tingled and stung a bit down below after the fact. This was all very funny to me of course!

Let’s just say I can definitely say I am no longer a cool, sexy carefree 20-something after shouting to my partner ‘hurry up! It’s going to fall out if you don’t act as a bung soon!’

Thank god I wasn’t actually in my fertile window and it was just a fun little comedy sketch as a warm up for the ‘main event’ ie my fertile window in a week or sos time!

itsheapsswell · 01/11/2019 18:15

@Itsemily I can completely relate. I have just told my partner to brace himself now as we’ve probably got 6 more times of doing the BD every other day before I feel like I’ve made the most of my fertile window. Some YouTube videos I watch say they do it everyday and this puts OH in fits of laughter. I honestly don’t know how some of them do it!

CurbsideProphet · 01/11/2019 20:49

@itsheapswell maybe they don't have a telly Grin

han2291 · 02/11/2019 05:52

@itsheapsswell oh my god you just had me howling with laughter at the bung 😂 I love that you guys can have such a laugh about it! While we're on the topic of awkward DTD I may as well share my gem.. we were happily going through the motions and our dog suddenly ran into the bedroom and leapt onto our bed, licking DH's face as he was.. 🤣 we were hysterical! Needless to say we keep the door shut now.

@TeddyToaster that's true though! I always think about my best friend who's birthday is in July, the poor thing was last to drive, last to legally drink, and it was crap (for her) 😬 how are your symptoms by the way? Sorry if I missed an update.. you're due to rest soon right?

@Cheyanne101 now you know for next month! But I totally get the feeling of wanting this all done already.. if I could look into the future and just know it WILL happen I'll be happy haha

TeddyToaster · 02/11/2019 11:34

@itsheapsswell OMG! You're killing me! 😂😂😂😂

@han2291 So funny about the dog.. We have to kick the cat out because otherwise she sits on the windowsill and gives us judgy looks while we dtd! Blush

Yeah, due to test Wednesday. Don't think it's our month as CM seems pretty normal. Hmm

Hannahb26 · 02/11/2019 12:04

Hi ladies! Has anyone had any success yet? I went for a scan yesterday (had suspected cysts on my ovaries - nothing there thank goodness) and the radiographer said the only thing she could see was a dominant follicle - obviously seeing the panic on my face she said it's when you approach mid cycle that this happens! Phew. (Is it me or does dominant follicle sound bad?!?) there's going to be lots of DTD in the next few days to make the most of it 😂

han2291 · 02/11/2019 12:12

@TeddyToaster haha oh no, judgy animals is definitely off putting 😂 stay positive, that might not mean anything at all. Are you going to wait until you miss AF to test?

@Hannahb26 good luck! ☺️ so interesting that you actually got to see it. Have you just started trying or are you a few cycles in?

TeddyToaster · 02/11/2019 12:31

@han2291 Meh, no idea. My cycles aren't regular at all so I might just test Wednesday if nothing has happened. Have convinced myself that I'm out this month so not stressing about it too much.

@Hannahb26 I've actually had cysts on both ovaries (gone now). The scans are a delight, aren't they?! Always annoys me that they put you in a waiting room with pregnant people.. Like you aren't here to potentially be given bad news about your own fertility! Angry Glad it was all clear for you!

Hannahb26 · 02/11/2019 12:47

Thanks @TeddyToaster and @han2291 😊 so relieved! Was strange being in there with pregnant people.

@han2291 it's our first try - had coil taken out a couple of weeks ago and haven't had AF for 2 years so as a result I have no idea where I am in my cycle! What about you?

@TeddyToaster it was definitely a strange way to start a Friday 😂😂😂 so have you been given the all clear fertility-wise now? Hope so!

TeddyToaster · 02/11/2019 13:19

@Hannahb26 They said that cysts don't really have a massive impact, it's the effect on the cycle that is the issue. Hopefully I've understood that right! X

Lea84TTC · 02/11/2019 13:41

I’ve been tracking my BT and been doing OPK and I’m really confused by the results and worrying that I am not ovulating.
