Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

Well my boobs are very tender today - not sure if that’s because AF is coming (CD21 and I normally start CD25-26) or if there’s better news...!

Konbanwa · 25/10/2019 10:19

@han2291 My cramps have eased off and still no AF. I'm still having that horrible fat feeling before you start AF though! I have no idea what's going on with my body and maybe I'll just end up missing a period this month 🤷🏻‍♀️

Might start some OPKs next week as that should have been when I was due to ovulate if AF had arrived on time. That way I can see if I'm just having a crazy long cycle 2 or if I'm going into cycle 3 without a bleed.

I've been reading up and it seems like coming off the pill can make you v irregular and that it can cause missed periods (they can also be caused by stress and lack of sleep!) so we'll see if AF shows up.

I'm trying not to stress out about it and see what happens.

How has everyone else's week been so far?

@notalwaysalondoner Those symptoms sound promising! I'll have my fingers crossed for you! 🤞 When would you be looking to test?

@Blondeandbroody I came off desogestrel at the end of August and as you can tell by my posts I'm still not regular at all! Supposedly it can take a good few months for things to get back into your natural rhythm.

The withdrawal symptoms from coming off the pill were awful though! I had cramping, v sore boobs and emotions all over the place!

Well, I thought I was doing so well with this ttc malarkey.. You know. Establishing when I've ovulating and dtd. Well, my body has now decided that it's going to have it's SECOND temperature spike of the month leaving me very confused about whether I've ovulate or not!! Gahhhhh!

TeddyToaster · 25/10/2019 10:58

I also cannot commit to an accurate tense of ovulate / ovulating / ovulated in that previous message, clearly! BlushGrin

notalwaysalondoner · 25/10/2019 11:20

Hmmm, when would you say the first spike was? Day 18? To me that looks like a general single rise with a little blip. But the ovusense is much more accurate so who knows? Some people get a triphasic pattern when pregnant so they get a second tempatire rise, but normally it’s up, flat for 3-4 days then up again. Fingers crossed - I found temping this month completely baffling too!

In terms of testing, I would normally be due AF on 30th. But my temping app now predicts 2nd as I ovulated late. I’m determined not to test until AF is actually one day late as I’ll go crazy, but not sure which day to pick!

TeddyToaster · 25/10/2019 11:54

@notalwaysalondoner Yeah, day 18. So confusing!

All this confusion to do something that happens by accident for some people - isn't it madness! Confused

GaaaaarlicBread · 25/10/2019 16:16

@teddytoaster I wish I understood spikes etc but I don't so I am reading your comments with @notalwaysalondoner to educate myself haha. Cannot cope with all this fancy stuff , it's too much for me . I am hoping today is the last day of AF for me so we can crack on DTD . DH is quite excited this month, I think me stressing last month with it being month one, got to him a bit but he is well up for it now lol

Good luck, @Itsemily!

Konbanwa · 25/10/2019 16:45

@Itsemily Glad you seem to be feeling better and that your DH is raring time go for round 2! 👍

@TeddyToaster I really like the look of the ovusense tracking! Will keep that in mind if TTC drags on too long. I'm no help when it comes to analysing spikes though!

My DH has bought a SwimCount test to check his sperm quality. He thought that it would be good peace of mind and could be a way of him doing some testing as part of this process!

notalwaysalondoner · 25/10/2019 17:09

Oooo that’s such a good idea @Konbanwa , it’s nice (and so much fairer) for them to be involved too. Mine asks me about my temperature sometimes but that’s about it... I still have to remind him to take his multivitamin, it’s like I have to carry and birth the baby and all you have to do is a remember a tiny vitamin tablet...!!!
There are so many tests and apps and devices out there I didn’t even know about!

Konbanwa · 25/10/2019 17:34

@notalwaysalondoner Yes it definitely seems unfair that so much of this process lands on women!

My DH has been taking calcium and vitamin d supplements as well as taking the odd berocca for the vitamin b12.

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 18:09

Hi all, can I join please as I’ve read the whole feed and feel like I can relate to you all. I’m 29 and have been with my partner for 15 years recently got married and feel ready to start trying. This is our second month but first month I was very relaxed but after a faint BFP on a frer and then AF turning up seemed to make me more focused. This month opk was positive day 14 of 28 cycle after I had copper coil removed august 21st. Currently 9dpo and so anxious to test and I have two FRER in draw. If I new if would be this complex I would have tried sooner. Sorry for all the information but apart from DH no one to talk to Smile

TeddyToaster · 25/10/2019 18:34

Welcome, @jonesbabynumber1!

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 18:44

Thank you @teddytoaster. I’d love anyone’s opinion on early testing as 9 dpo and frer saying I can test tomorrow.

notalwaysalondoner · 25/10/2019 19:03

Welcome @jonesbabynumber1
Smile
I am afraid I’m a complete testing rookie - never taken one in my life! I guess it depends how confident you are about your ovulation date and then what the test recommends. If you are just estimating ovulation based on cycle dates it’s probably better to wait a bit to be sure it will pick it up, but if you’re confident I’d go with what the test recommends. I’ve decided I’m going to wait until AF is one day late so I don’t drive myself crazy every month... but then this month I ovulated late so just don’t know what date counts as late any more haha. I reckon I’ll use my original date and so test on 31st if AF hasn’t arrived.

notalwaysalondoner · 25/10/2019 19:08

Just read this on their website, suggesting pretty high false negatives if you do it as soon as the first day they suggest. Good luck whatever you decide!

In clinical testing FIRST RESPONSE™ In-Stream Pregnancy Tests detected the hormone levels in 62% of women, 6 days before the day of the missed period (5 days before the day of expected period), in 78% of women 5 days before their missed period, in 87% of women 4 days before their missed period, in 98% of women 3 days before their missed period and in 99% of women 2 days before their missed period.

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 19:16

@notalwaysalonder thank you, yes I’m going to try to wait but I’m so impatient. Who knew TTC would be so mentally draining. It’s so helpful to have people to talk to. Where are you at the moment during your cycle if you don’t mind me asking?

GaaaaarlicBread · 25/10/2019 19:18

@jonesbabynumber1 welcome! Thanks for joining us, it's a long thread so thank you for reading! I can't advise on testing, but whatever you choose to do - good luck. I have only ever done Pregnancy Tests in the past when I have had pregnancy 'scares' with DH when he was at uni and we thought I was pregnant and it wouldd've been a nightmare! SO never taken a test when actively trying, so not sure about the DPO, although we are hoping November will be out month. I know what you mean about the complexity of it, DH and I have said if we knew how much went into it, we would've had my coil out sooner x

Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 19:32

Thanks @itsemily I wish I hadn’t got into testing as it’s a bit like OPK it gets slightly addictive. We’ve waited a long time to find the right time and now it’s come just feeling a little anxious that we should have been trying sooner. Especially as everything I see to do with baby’s making me think about it more x

GaaaaarlicBread · 25/10/2019 20:00

@jonesbabynumber1 I literally see to see babies and baby things everywhere these days it really is an awful feeling when you want it so bad. DH delivers babies for a living so he is finding it very emotional these days! x

OP posts:
Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 20:13

@itsemily I know how you feel. That must be hard for him. My DH is apart of a large family with 10 nieces and nephew and he has wanted a baby for a long time. Feeling pressure from friends and family asking about pregnancy and babies which has increased since getting married x

GaaaaarlicBread · 25/10/2019 20:29

@Jonesbabynumber1 fingers crossed that this is our month hey! I am hoping for some baby dust on this thread x

OP posts:
Jonesbabynumber1 · 25/10/2019 20:32

@itsemily yes I would love to see baby dust for everyone on this post. I’ll let you know how I get on tomorrow, but got a feeling it’s not my month.

han2291 · 26/10/2019 08:42

@Jonesbabynumber1 welcome to the chat and good luck! 🤞🏼 sending a ton of baby dust your way!!!

@Konbanwa sounds like a good idea to try to figure out what's going on. Hopefully it'll help you figure out some answers.

My week has been pretty average, taking OPKs every day just waiting for my + and hoping it's not as late as it was last month.. I was picking up some dinner for husband & I last month and there was a pregnant woman in the queue in front of me. I've not experienced it before but I suddenly had this pit in my stomach and this really weird feeling (a bit jealous?!) which was horrible. I always knew I wanted to be a mum but when you're actively trying it feels even worse 😞 please tell me I'm not the only one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Jonesbabynumber1 · 26/10/2019 08:58

I tested this morning and as expected bfn going to try and hold off for as long as I can as AF due on on 31st. thank you @han2291 yes I’ve had those feelings and it’s totally normal. When I see pregnant strangers I try to think maybe she went through the same anxious waiting. That helps as I think she is now pregnant and that will hopefully be me soon x
